administration to defend the obama era nuclear deal, something the president walked away from pretty quick. some of the activity we have seen. >> what we are watching is an iran policy careening towards war without a clear direction and that is what the iran nuclear deal provided, guardrails on the relationships. the choices are very narrow. what is he going to do? he doesn't have a diplomatic path available to him because he walked away from it. that is the danger of iran. heather: let's look at the timeline of the iran nuclear deal. october 2015 obama signed the deal and may 2018 the us leaves the nuclear deal, then reimpose his iran sanctions and in july of this year iran passes the uranium enrichment. what you see next?

>> right now the president wanted to meet with president rouhani and they said no until he came back into the deal. we are at a standstill and the pressure is going to increase economic pressure, putting iran on the defensive but we will see at the un the united states is isolated on nuclear diplomacy. rob: we were duped on the iran nuclear deal. i keep going back to john kerry smiling with the iranian leaders, they were so happy to be in that deal. i feel like they got away better deal and activity coming from the country continued on while we were smiling and negotiating. >> there is no magic bullet to iran. iran is a bad actor in the region. what the deal did. rob: starve these people out of power? the money they used for terror and other groups. >> the problem is terrorism support has not decreased but it

hasn't decreased under the current moment either. the nuclear program increased. that is new. jillian: if we stayed the status quo we wouldn't be anywhere else hypothetically speaking may not be anywhere else than we were in the past so at this point is it worth trying to make something happen? to make those steps ahead? >> not sure that is how it played out. a year and a half ago french president macron said we will work with you and negotiate on these other problems but donald trump pulled out of the deal and undercut that message. rob: iran is making a lot of noise and parking like the big dog and don't know that they can back it up. you are worried they are going to increase nuclear activity. my point is when you look at this is an evil regime so you can either reward them for being bad or punish them. the president is using the stick instead of the carrot.

a serious problem we can fix and it is going in the wrong direction. 18 countries in the middle east alone have government-sponsored mandated religion. that is a lot of people who are unable to live out their god-given right to worship god. the president brought up the beginning our belief about religious liberty is based on the fact we believe our rights come from god, that goes to our foundational documents. our rights come not from government and he is talking to dictators who are saying i will tell you what you are allowed -- that is refreshing. rob: we are lucky to live in this country. thank you. 54 minutes after the hour. jillian: he wanted in his way, the cyclist caught on camera having a cow in a burger king drive-through. we are coming right back.
