without anything from the whistleblower. why the rush yesterday and why not just wait for some evidence if there is any? >> excellent question. i feel i have whiplash almost because nancy pelosi has been the voice of reason among the democrats for three solid years and all of a sudden she changed her tune. the reasons i can think of politically include that several of the older democrats lost their seats to young challengers from the left in the 2018 election. nancy pelosi is facing a very left-wing challenger, progressive challenger in san francisco. she may be concerned about losing her speakership or her leadership in the next house. that is one of the reasons she is bowing to something i think she knows instinctively is a bad idea for democrats but to your other point, the desperation signaled by democrats moving to impeach a president based on

flimsy gossip secondhand gossip of the whistleblower who didn't hear the evidence himself is really odd and they will regret this once they see the evidence. heather: if they waited for that this is what the trump administration said they are going to present, the full transcript of the call with the ukrainian president, the release of the whistleblower complaints, the release of the ig report allowing the whistleblower to testify as well. when it comes to the evidence they do need is any of this and impeachable offense anyway? >> they have several hurdles to get through. nancy pelosi announced the impeachment inquiry, 6 house committees continuing to do what they have been doing for three years. there is nothing new but if they believe they have evidence,

handed to the house judiciary committee headed by jerry nadler would determine if their articles of impeachment that can be brought. based on the allegations we have so far i don't think they can meet that threshold. it doesn't rise to the level of appropriate was a lower complained according to the department of justice analysis. even if they met that hurdle, having the house vote on impeachment, has to go to the senate, the senate is not likely to vote -- to convict but if they did they have to get 2 thirds of the united states senate which currently has 53 senators who are republicans, a virtually insurmountable series of hurdles. after seeing the evidence tomorrow and coming days i don't think they will get out of the starting gate if they are smart. heather: if this does not hurt donald trump who does injury? does it potentially injure joe biden? who would serve to benefit in terms of the 2020 candidates? >> absolutely. victor davis hanson used a term, a latin term for benefits. elizabeth warren benefits the most. i think this is going to be
