real estate, that has been there all life. he doesn't know anything about china, energy, investment trade! >> martha: they were doing these businesses before they started but we've got to go. that's "the story." we'll see you guys here tomorro tomorrow. ♪ >> tucker: good evening and welcome to "tucker carlson tonight." the most reliable standard in politics. take these words come up with them on a piece of paper, put them on your fridge, leave them there. this is the rosetta stone to american politics and here it is. whatever the left accuses you of is exactly what they are doing themselves every time for they will scream at you for being a racist! and yet they are literally the ones imposing a system of inflexible racial discrimination on the entire country. they will call you a fascist, even if they work to eliminate the first and second amendmentses.

of course, they regularly attack their opponents as success while they protect actual rapists and abusers who are useful to them. they guarded ted kennedy's reputation even after he killed a woman. they ran bill clinton twice. this just proves the theory here, clinton's wife has made a career out of calling other people sexists. here is one out of countless examples. >> i went to beijing in 1995 and said women's rights are human rights and human rights are women's rights and i believe that with all my heart. when i was secretary of state, i put women's rights at the center of our foreign policy. i went to 112 countries for all of you and i raised it in every country. i looked across the table at dictators and authoritarians and chauvinists and sexists and misogynist, yes, i did, and i raised it with everyone of them.
5:02 pm
>> tucker: i stared down misogynists and live to tell the tale! on one level, it's hilarious! enjoy it. it's the opposite of the truth, hillary clinton has spent her entire life connected to men who abused women. that's why she feels a need to lecture you about feminism, it's a kind of projection. she has to feel virtuous even as she does the very thing she claims to hate. you need to be sigmund freud to figure it all out. it's sick, but it's real. tonight, we have more detail on it. excerpts from rund and pharaoh's new book was released today, the book is called "catch and kill," it's about harvey weinstein and the many famous liberals who protected him. for years it was an open secret. in hollywood, the left about it at award shows. >> congratulations, you five ladies no longer have to pretend to be attracted to harvey weinstein.
5:03 pm
>> tucker: they knew. that's beyond dispute. they knew. why didn't they do anything to stop the abuse? it turns out because people like hillary clinton helped weinstein get away with it. here's one example of it. in the summer of 2017 according to this new book, ronan farrow tried to schedule an interview with hillary clinton for another interview he was writing about u.s. foreign policy. a man named nick farrell warned farrow outright that a certain big story he had been working on was "a concern for us." in other words, leave harvey weinstein alone. if you want to get what we've got, stop it. stop bothering harvey weinstein. that was the message to ronan farrow from hillary clinton. now weinstein had been a long time fund-raiser for the clinton family. clinton wanted to protect on the matter how many women he was hurting, and there were quite a few, apparently. several months later, weinstein returned hillary's favor.
5:04 pm
sent an email and paste a dock you series about, you guessed it, hillary clinton. called the idea absently stunning. but do not be surprised. nbc news is in the tank for the them credit party and also in the tank for harvey weinstein. when pharaoh started his investigation, he may not have known this he was still in nbc employee at the time. when the company started this despite the stomach that he had it nailed, he run won a pulitzer prize on it. we now know why they passed on the scope of the decade. according to the book, weinstein dug up allegations on matt lauer and threatened to expose him if nbc did not squash the story on him. to protect top talent, nbc let harvey weinstein abused women and they've been lying about it ever since. nbc has been happy to talk about
5:05 pm
a brand-new accusation against matt lauer. the allegation may be the weakest claim in farrow's report. it's not credible, doesn't make sense if you read it critically. but for nbc, it doesn't matter. that has been a godsend. if they can keep talking about matt lauer, nobody will notice that nbc news at the very highest levels covered up for harvey weinstein. that is their plan. sadly, it may work. revealing as farrow's book is and is a public service, a lot of this was obvious two years ago. at that time, our sources told us that nbc president knew all about harvey weinstein's behavior and actively worked to keep it secret. in addition to being the head of nbc news, deep ties to the movie business and the democratic party establishment. could it be that he had a business relationship with harvey weinstein or weinstein's company? it's not a far-fetched possibility at all. and yet as of earlier today,
5:06 pm
when asked directly refused to say. ought to resign immediately and if he doesn't he ought to be fired immediately by nbc's parent company comcast. news executives are not allowed to tell lies. they are not allowed to participate and cover ups. they ought to answer straightforward questions straightforwardly. when they don't, you know they are corrupt and that's exactly what nbc news is. so we tried. but two years later, often stie nbc president and anti-lack is still the chairman despite his neither one has ever told the truth about the harvey once in cover up. even today in a long and bizarre letter to employees that one of the employees just sent us, and the lack was still lying about it. remarkably none of these self-appointed defenders of women you often see wailing on television about brett kavanaugh
5:07 pm
or the christian right to even seem to notice any of this. they clearly don't care about harvey weinstein. they don't care about his victims and they don't care about his enablers at nbc. that tells you everything about them. robbie sauve is the associate editor at "reason," and he joins us tonight. simple reason, why are they still running nbc? speaker that's a great question and the great question for people who work at nbc who are generalists there who do want the truth. they would like to knew that know that. i remember watching rachel maddow interviewed rowan pharaoh a while ago. i think she wanted to know what was going on. you need to be able to trust your boss is when you are a journalist that they are interested in helping you get the truth and that is grown in the farrow whole story that the derailed and hamstring him every way. not only do your bosses not have
5:08 pm
your back but they are working behind the scenes allegedly to undermine you. >> tucker: how would you feel if you were billy bush whose life was derailed because nbc sent a tape in which he didn't say anything to "the washington post" in an effort to change the outcome of a presidential election and then fired him for doing nothing wrong, meanwhile they are covering for harvey weinstein? >> you know, we hear about the campus rape crisis but what about the media rape crisis? i don't believe about crisis narratives but they don't talk about these things in dramatic apocalyptic tones they talk about everything else. i did not immediately and physically believes everything run and has to say. i've had issues with some of his reporting related to kavanaugh, but he's brought a lot of
5:09 pm
information and brought them people who has clearly been guilty. between him and nbc executives, who has the great ability here? >> tucker: i'm hardly a defender of matt lauer. i'm not a fan at all. but the allegation against him in the book is ridiculous on its face. what's not ridiculous are his meticulously reported tiktoks on how he responded to the crisis. ronan fairman rowan farrow goes on the shows and on msnbc flips out because journalism is being committed! they can stand that. how can a news organization get angry about journalism. >> this is like the story of the century. a lot of people knew about it. it was only a matter of time before it came to life and the only did they -- they worked against it! they wanted to get rid of it. that's, like, totally crazy. >> tucker: in the book there are a bunch of details and
5:10 pm
excerpts that have been released but my for personal favorite oe point after hoffenheim helps keep weinstein's crimes under wrap, weinstein sends him a bottle of gray goose. we are still working on this. but is that appropriate? >> if the object of a negative story that one of your people was working on later sends you a bottle of liquor after this happened, you probably did something horrible to your generalists, the level of sabotage to lend itself to that amount of gratitude. >> that is totally right. if they are sending you liquor, you are doing a bad job. jeanine pirro, of course, host with "justice with judge jeanine," also author of the book "radical resistance and
5:11 pm
revenge" joins us tonight. it's great to see you. hillary clinton makes a signature appearance in this book and essentially through a spokesman threatens her former friend rowan farrow, get off the trail of harvey weinstein. shouldn't there be universal outrage over this? >> [laughs] hillary clinton is steep so deep and more hypocrisy that no one should be surprised and that's why there isn't the outrage. at the same time, the woman is talking about running for president and winning again! i mean -- i'm not even going to go there. you've got a woman who interferes through her publicist with a request by rowan farrow, tries to stop the story, says we aren't going to do an interview here. we are very concerned about the interview, the big story you are doing about rowan farrow, and she, of course, is beholden to weinstein. don't tell me she didn't know what was going on. of course knew what was going
5:12 pm
on. all of washington knew. she collected or bonded about $1.6 billion for the clintons beginning with bill clinton andt problems. and hillary clinton has spent her life running roughshod over any woman who accused her husband or anyone else, and friend for example like harvey weinstein and of a situation that might harm them. for exam for example, we need a broader wreck, physically injured after she said she was raped by bill clinton bill clinton. paula jones in a settlement with bill clinton. kathy willie, i should say. and you've got monica lewinsky who is a looney tunes. this woman has to get in her head what sexual harassment is. >> tucker: ted kennedy was the same way after she killed a woman. he never stop lecturing the rest of us about feminism and hillary is the same thing. she's obviously a completely ruthless political operative who
5:13 pm
doesn't care that she'll say or do anything. but why does she feel the need to stand on the moral high ground or lecture us about our moral inadequacies. i don't understand that. >> that's why in 2016 she was found to be the most untrustworthy, unbelievable candidate out there. she gets up there and has the moral high ground because she is delusional. she started her career by blaming a 12-year-old rape victim who was in a coma for five days, laughed about the fact and made up facts and said the girl likes older men. that woman, i spoke with her, has not been able to have children as a result of that rape. that's a woman up there on the screen that doesn't care about women. she talks a good game. not that anybody believes her. when she says, all women need to believe, believe? she's full of it. by the way, after the harvey weinstein case came out, she
5:14 pm
waited five days and everybody kept saying, why is she waiting, why is she waiting like that of course, she said, i am shocked, shocked, that there is this allegation and gambling in casablanca, however you want to end there. this is a woman who has no moral compass, no moral soul and her whole career has been taking money from countries where they oppress women and young girls. she is the opposite of a woman who was a fighter for women's rights. >> tucker: we are all hypocrites to some degree. but there's something about the professional left where they elevate hypocrisy to almost a religious precepts. again, they lecture you about the one thing that they are doing! it's unbelievable! okay, it's if ed gein lecture you about vegetarianism. not your place, cannibal guy! >> if you .1 finger, four fingers are pointing back at you. that's what the left has been doing on every issue and she
5:15 pm
does it beautifully. the beauty of it all is she never got to the white house. >> tucker: she might try again. judge jeanine -- >> that'll be fun. >> tucker: thanks a lot. one of washington's actual whistle-blowers, and there are some, had been following the events of the last couple of weeks carefully and says the guy you are hearing is a whistle-blower on your crane is not worthy of the title. that whistle blower joins us next. the nba and china, the latest when we come back.
5:20 pm
>> tucker: you think of writers as liberal but clearly there's a shortage of writers on the left these days. maybe they all went into private equity. how do we know they are not enough writers? democratic lawmakers use the same talking points on virtually every issue. mindlessly repetitive, they can always get their friends in the press to use them. you notice that on every story, the disaster at the u.s.-mexico border was a manufactured crisis. the mueller report was meanwhile damning before they've forgot it existed, and now there is the ukraine story. the trump administration says it will not cooperate with an impeachment investigation until the houseboats to begin one votes to begin one. everyone at cnn agrees that the president is stonewalling. >> the trump a administration
5:21 pm
announcing a stone wall strategy to defy congress and its constitutionally derive power to investigate. >> the white house stonewalling will not make their inquiry go away. >> the more they try to stonewall an abstract investigation, the deeper they get into the quicksand. doubling down on the strategy and that strategy is to stonewall. that strategy is to obstruct. >> i don't think there stonewalling will hold up. >> when the white house stone walls, make a grievous error. >> tucker: there is nothing the media won't repeat nodding mindlessly. here's another thing cnn democrats agree on, the whistle-blower is a brave hero doing a vital service to this country. he's a whistle-blower! the funny thing is and you live in washington, we have whistle-blowers here and they
5:22 pm
are almost always ignored and mistreated by the people in power. all the cool kids looked down on real whistle-blowers. it's amazing. most of them you don't even know exist. you never hear their names. one exemption to the rule is john caribou he blew the whistle on the cia covert torture programs and we brought them on to assess this new whistle-blower. how do you assess this assess this whistle-blower? >> i do not think this is a whistle-blower. i think this is an anonymous source for the democratic staff in the house of representatives. >> that sounds very different from a whistle-blower. what is a whistle-blower? what is a whistle-blower distinct from who this person is? >> a whistle-blower is anybody who brings up waste, fraud, abuse, threats to public health or safety, and they do this almost always with a great
5:23 pm
personal cost attached to it. this so-called whistle-blower at the cia is someone who is acting anonymously and, remember, this person is not an undercover cia operative. by all accounts, this is an analyst who who is not underco. you can't hide this person's name, identity, just to save him from embarrassment or trouble of being recognized or something like that. it's just not appropriate. if this is a whistle-blower, needs to come forward in public, testify in an open session, and blow that whistle. >> what's interesting if he comes out and makes these allegations and the white house immediately releases the transcript to end the story. in your case, you made allegations that were true, it turned out. and you still went to prison for saying it. >> i did. i went to prison for 23 months. the same people that attacked me are attacking the president. robert mueller set it up, john
5:24 pm
brennan petition the attorney general holder to charge me with five felonies of espionage, all of it dismissed. ironically it was peter strzok who put the cuffs on me in 2012. >> wait a second, you told the truth about what a federal agency was doing without the knowledge or consent of congress. >> that's right. >> outside the democratic channels undermining democracy and msnbc and >> actually only fox came to my defense. that something you and i never talked about that. msnbc never called me a whistle-blower. they called me "cia leaker." see and an cnn after a year decided to cal me a whistle-blower. it's tough being a whistle-blower. political lines are drawn, and that's really where these things usually turn.
5:25 pm
we are seeing the democrat to the same thing right now with this cia officer. they are telling us, imposing upon us their notion that this person is a whistle-blower and he simply is not. >> tucker: i don't think there is any chance this person is going to do almost two years in prison. >> not a chance. even his attorney mark zaid is one of these cnn insiders. he's attached with cia security clearance. if you are represented by mark zaid and claiming to be it was of lawyer, you are not. >> tucker: you are the only person who could give us his perspective on the whistle-blower story. >> thank you for having me. >> tucker: last week, we introduced you to devon archer, the man standing on the far left in this now infamous photograph with joe biden and biden's son hunter. biden said he never talked to his son about his overseas business dealings.
5:26 pm
when the photograph was taken, both archer and hunter biden on the board of the now famous ukrainian energy company burisma. but archer and hunter biden have a business relationship that centered more on ukraine. they also did business together in china and according to court findings reviewed by the show, archer and biden's just as in ukraine, because axon is a profoundly, famously corrupt country. the president has already asked facetiously ukraine and china to check into the bidens, maybe you should check into the kazakhstan too. did he ever asked his son about domestic dealings. the same time they were on the golf course, federal prosecutors allege that devon archer was part of a "scheme to defraud a native american community and multiple pension farms."
5:27 pm
hunter biden has not been charged in the case but the name was used to promote the fraudulent scheme and lend it legitimacy. devon archer was committed last year by a jury in his case but his conviction was overturned by a federal judge. who was that federal judge? that judge is named ronnie abrams, and obama and pointy as so many are who attended yale law school alongside hunter biden. share is a mutual friend with him. despite those facts, she did not recuse yourself from archer's case. today, worried about corruption right here in washington. he might have a point. elizabeth warren has a new plan to fight what she is calling environmental racism. what is that? and why does it cost a billion dollars to fix it? we'll tell you next. hillary clinton appears to be laying the groundwork running for president again. democrats should be thrilled.
5:28 pm
they think she's already the president! why aren't they? itary and after i went in to aspen dental it was just like night and day. they told me they were gonna take some x-rays, she said "and it's gonna be no charge to you". i'm not used to getting that type of service. my name is robert chackley and my rank for the military was retired sergeant major. at aspen dental we're all about yes. like yes to payments on your timeline not ours. yes to free exam and x-rays for patients without insurance. and yes whenever you're ready to get started so are we. call or book online at aspendental.com a general dentistry office.
5:32 pm
>> tucker: elizabeth warren recently and this will not surprise you if you watch the show regular he has surpassed biden in the polls and will be the front runner -- not certain, but likely. she's liberated the new status by turning the environment yet another way to divide americans based on skin colors. in a plan she released this afternoon, biden warren says she'll spend a trillion dollars to correct something she calls environmental racism. that of course means of spending even more on racial politics and even less on cleaning up the actual environment. if she were serious about cleaning up the environment, she might mention china, which is any way you measure it by far the world's biggest polluter. not just in co2 but in actual carbon. but over 6,000 words in the plan, and we counted, china isn't even mentioned once.
5:33 pm
that's not serious. that's something else. what is it? rob swift is here to tell us, a spokesman for turning point usa. first, they concept of environmental racism. the one thing i liked about conservationism, cleaning up the environment which i'm strongly for, it has nothing to do with race. it has to do with nature. what is this? >> it does have to do with nature. tucker, look. if you are elizabeth warren, i'm elizabeth warren and i'm getting a big bump on the polls but that passkey joe biden is beating me among black voters, i find this obscure thing to push the black americans that they didn't know they were victims of but i know you are a victim of this so i'm going to push this to you -- seriously! i am going to use this to get your vote. like i said before, it's pandering. she can't talk about the economy because the economy is doing very well. she can't act like black americans don't have a job because black unemployment is at
5:34 pm
a historical low. what does she have? she has more fears, another government program that she needs to create to save all the african-americans that's going to cost upwards to a trillion dollars i think you said. bump every body's taxes up! >> tucker: what a missed opportunity. the way to unite people is around a common enemy, so why not say the one thing we all have in common with carbon-based life forms is we breathe air and we should want clean air and water. that's a uniting message. i think it's a properly defensible and good message but why does she have to make it about identity politics? >> they have to make it about identity politics, tucker, because the left has decided they need to slice and dice americans into tinier and tinier groups of people in order to get their votes. that is where we are at -- >> tucker: how does that wind up in the end? what's the terminus of that? >> where it winds up is people
5:35 pm
like me that i'm nobody's victim, you can pander to me anymore and thinking more and more coming over to the conservative side. i'm telling you, tucker, i'm on the ground, i see it, i see more and more "nontraditional conservatives" moving to the side. this stuff is pandering and we see right through it, honestly. >> tucker: certainly is patronizing. so dumb. thank you very much. deep down, you knew -- maybe you routed for this moment, you knew it had to be coming. hillary clinton never accepted her defeat in 2016. she has explained many times stolen by russia, by jim comey, by middle american voters. the point is she deserved to be president and she will be president no matter what you think of that. so instead of retiring, she is planning another presidential run. is that true? it's hard to know. but yesterday on pbs, on "the
5:36 pm
news hour," send the strongest signal yet that she might be planning and getting into the race. watch this. >> tweeted just this morning and i'm going to quote, "i think crooked hillary clinton should enter the race to try to steal it away from uber left elizabeth warren." >> it remains remarkable how he remains with me so i think there needs to be a rematch. obviously i can beat him again. >> tucker: quentin james is a hillary flan del mcfadden and joins us. everyone is laughing about this. i don't know if she means it seriously, but why wouldn't any good democrat in america be pining for hillary to get in the race? >> hillary was joking, she's being facetious. she's having fun. but when we look at what's happening in the white house, everything she warned us about in 2016 is becoming true. i think she's feeling a little bit of pride and that she was
5:37 pm
right about this whole trump episode. >> tucker: so she's the oracle, her predictions have been validated. look, that's a position -- i'm not mocking you. she says the race was stolen from her, she said that repeatedly. democrats nod, we believe you, hillary. all of that adds up to a really simple -- >> no. this is only a story on fox news. hillary clinton is not running for president, okay? >> tucker: there is no centralized story making decision-making here at fox news. >> okay, all right. >> tucker: i wake up this morning and i thought, why wouldn't democrats want hillary to run? i'm serious. >> correct, but hillary clinton said she does not want to run. >> tucker: why don't you and other prominent democrats demand that elizabeth warren and cory booker and bernie and all the rest of these people get out of the way and let the rightful heir to the job -- >> this thing about our country, not about our party, this is a
5:38 pm
democracy. >> tucker: wait a minute! that's the point. it was stolen from her -- >> yes, it was. >> tucker: if you believe that in order to preserve democracy -- >> justice is not hillary clinton running for president. justice is holding russia and this president -- >> tucker: you said if you believe in democracy, the will of voters must be resented. >> yes. >> tucker: will of voters as he said his hillary clinton be president. >> they hillary clinton won more the popular vote. >> tucker: why use standing back -- >> i'm not standing back at all. if hillary clinton wanted to run she would want to. >> tucker: why wouldn't she run? if she is allegedly the president, doesn't she have an obligation to run? >> every body understands that love to see hillary clinton
5:39 pm
would run again, according to the republican party. >> tucker: i suddenly the last rational person in 2019? >> i appreciate you holding donald trump accountable. >> tucker: i'm asking an obvious question. why shouldn't she run? >> may be she answer, but -- >> tucker: i am drowning in the b.s. i see here. let me just ask you one simple question. you say republicans would love it if she ran. you are suggesting that she's so unpopular and incompetent -- >> no. i'm saying the republican party has waged a 30-year war against this woman and she is now in her private life -- >> tucker: she's on freaking tv tours will make all day. >> a book tour! >> tucker: why republicans if
5:40 pm
she's smart and powerful -- >> to keep the story off donald trump. >> tucker: someone is going to be the democratic nominee. hillary clinton has the right to that limitation nomination -- >> if she wanted to run she would run. the reality right now is that she's being facetious and the only reason -- >> tucker: why is she still on tv? how much money is enough? why would she continue to peddle her book? she's got enough money. >> she has a great story to tel tell! about amazing women! the book is about women who inspired her. >> tucker: do you think she wrote the book? >> she wrote the book. >> tucker: she didn't write the book -- do you honestly believe hillary wrote the book? >> you've seen them on
5:41 pm
"the today show." we can joke around, but the reality is that rob wilkins would love -- >> tucker: after a soulcycle, sipping on lattes -- we are out of time! great to see you. >> thanks for having me, tucker. >> tucker: so great. new discussion developments toe nba's lavish silencing their own fans. we have details.
5:45 pm
5:46 pm
happy to help them. more proof of that from the nba as two fans were kicked out of the game for offending beijing. for real. chief breaking news correspondent trace gallagher has the latest on the story. >> tucker, the philadelphia 76ers playing a team from the chinese possible association when a sixers fan who lived in hong kong for two years and his wife brought signs to the game saying "free hong kong." security confiscated the signs and when the couple yelled "free hong kong," they got kicked out. the team issued a statement saying, the couple was warned about the continuing disruption of the ban experience. meantime, steve kerr a politically outspoken coach of the golden state warriors who is very anti-trump getting big time heat for failing to weigh in on china's crackdown on democracy. kerr called it a really bizarre international story. sports journalist clay travis wrote, he comments on every trump tweet and can support
5:47 pm
democracy in china? then san antonio spurs coach gregg popovich said nba commissioner adam silver is a great leader. president trump? not so much for the president responded. watch. >> i watch the way that, like, kerr, popovich, some of the others were pandering to china and to our own country it's like they don't respect it. it's like they don't respect it. >> despite a number of players in the nba it's off apologizing to the chinese government, 11 of the nba's 13 chinese partners have now cut ties with the league. that chinese run tv network is refusing to televise nba games. tucker? >> tucker: trace gallagher, thank you so much for that. imagine if you lived in communist china and you escaped and came to the united states because you love freedom and you looked up only to discover that corporate america was doing the bidding of the regime you escaped from? that has happened to a lot of
5:48 pm
chinese in this country, including young ma who escaped from china, she's the author of "growing up what is it like to look up and see american companies doing the bidding of the regime you fled? >> there is something really orwellian about it, right? it's truly ludicrous. when we are talking about the nba, we talk about the statements that they have issued and so on, but there's actually a statement they've issued on chinese social media on their official sight that's much more egregious than their statement in english, they talk about how the houston rockets' gm's original statement wasn't appropriate, they are very disappointed in it, it has hurt the feelings of millions of chinese people. in many ways -- >> this is the chinese language -- >> the nba has since declared that there is only one official
5:49 pm
version, the english version pete let me point out the chinese version is still very much on the chinese social media site of the nba so it's not like they've taken it down but the language used in that echoes very much the kind of language of the chinese government often would use to criticize foreigners saying things they don't like. >> tucker: so they are just groveling? >> of course they are groveling. >> tucker: how scary is that? you came across the world to escape from that, this to the land of the free, only to find that some of the most powerful american companies don't care about freedom at all? >> when i left china, china was not the second-largest economy in the world so there was no american company at that time that would be afraid of the chinese government. things obviously have changed quite a bit and right now the economic realities are entirely different. i don't have a problem with companies trying to make money. i'm a big fan of capitalism. of course, the disturbing thing
5:50 pm
is that there is a lot of cowardice in how these american companies are trying to make money. when we talk about the nba, i think one thing that is worth remembering is that the nba isn't exactly a wallflower of some kind. it's got a lot of weights to pull. it is the most popular sports league in china. basketball is a sport that chinese fans are crazy about. there are about 300 million chinese people who play basketball. so the nba, for instance, on its official social media website on china has nearly 42 million followers. it's only got, what's -- i think it's got less than 25 million here in the u.s. one question the nba needs to ask itself, if it stops kowtowing to china, will the chinese fans ultimately just go watch basketball played by belgians or malaysians or some other country, right? i think what adam silver did
5:51 pm
today, you know, issuing a statement that is much more strongly supportive of freedom of speech is the right step in the right direction. but i think it's worth remembering that just because you want the chinese market doesn't mean that you have to be so craven lee about it. >> tucker: you do not need to give up american values or betray your own country, as they so happily do. that was really interesting. thank you for coming on tonight. >> thank you. >> tucker: you remember not so long ago a bill that went through congress that was signed and now law, that we will let nonviolent prisoners out early because we are compassionate. it's going to be no problem. one of those people who got out of prison early because of that law is wanted for murder tonight. we've got details.

this year and the intent, we heard this from a lot of people over the number of weeks was to slice time off off the sentencf federal prisoners, nonviolent federal prisoners so they can get can get reintegrated back into society more quickly. only nonenvironment nonnonviolent offenders will be helped by this law. like so many things we are told here in washington, that turned out to be a light, a flat out lie. one of our guest called it. watch. >> good intentions sometimes have nothing to do with actual consequences. we were told that this would only allow low-level nonviolent criminals to go free. the first honcho prisoners gone free, 250 committed sex crimes,y were 60 or 70 that were guilty of homicide or aggravated

assault, those were not low-level nonviolent criminals. >> tucker: it didn't even take a year. now what may have been inevitable has finally happened. he was serving a life sentence for trafficking and narcotics, then he was sprung from prison under the first step act. now as of tonight he's wanted for murder of a man in providence, rhode island. grady judge is the sheriff of polk county florida. are you surprised by this? >> i'm not surprised at all, tucker, i was involved with a first step act trying to stop it. we were being pressured by the democrats, by the republicans, and by the white house all to pass this law. and we warned them, we were in profits but when you when you let violent criminals out of jail, they murder, rape, and

rob. >> tucker: we spent an awful lot of time about this law, the only people getting out of jail are people who were there because they were caught with a joint in high school and sentenced to life in prison. not a single violent person getting out. were we dumb to believe that? >> tucker, i can tell you they intentionally misled the people of the united states. there was arm-twisting, not on the arm twisting, the twisted arms off all the way to the shoulder to get this past. we warned them there would be murders. in fact, this person that they are seeking out of rhode island now already has had two arrests in just the eight months since he's been released from custody. >> tucker: cell of all the things that you could twist arms to get done, and both parties as you said were in favor of this, why would you spend all of that time and capital politically getting violent prisoners out of

prison earlier? i don't understand. >> i don't understand at all, but jared kushner is the one that masterminded and pushed this legislation through. i think that the president was misled. i don't believe the president believed to warn that violent criminals were going to be turned back on to society or he wouldn't have signed that bill. but that's not what he was told you there. and as a result, you see what we have. there is going to be more murderers by these folks turned out because they were never low-level nonviolent offenders. anybody who traffics in drugs is a dangerous person. >> the worst epidemic in american history, more have died in anymore since world war ii and we are letting people out of jail early -- it's bizarre. things are coming on tonight from polk county, florida. we will be back tomorrow, amazingly an hour through our
