quick time. we have the greatest fighting machine now when i came in, it was totally completed. we have great generals, we have great war fighters and they did it so fast. i spoke to iraq, i met with the generals. i met with the generals. i said i hear it is going to take a year or two years, and sir, they said it we could do in about two weeks. they don't let us fight, they don't let us fight. we want to fight and they don't let us fight. i said, i will let you fight. how come, it's going to take anywhere from a year to twofr years, you say you can do it so quickly? sir, were going to hit it from the front come up were going to hit it from the fact, were going to hit it from the sides underground, overground, we're going hit the hill out of them and we won very quickly.

child fell. when the so-called people that we are teaching how to fight turned the gun on them and we had a lot of that, a lot of it in afghanistan, more than we have ever had proportion for. it's a horrible, horrible thing. when i have to sign these letters, sometimes they go out to a place the dover air force base, it's a very tough experience. mike pence goes, i go, other people go, tom goes, we go out there and we meet the parents and the families, the wife scum of children. the sisters and the brothers. we meet them and we talk about them. and their son daughter is being thrown and from some faraway place in a coffin in these things are just impossible. i don't know how parents can do it and i will meet them and that's all it does, so professional. that's what he does, i grieve

the dead, sir, i grieve the dead. what happens, this big incredible machine flies and the tremendous cargo plane and it flies in so powerful, so big. i will be talking to some of the parents and they will act like they're fine, they will say, how are you doing, we're fine, sir we're very good. i say that's great, i will tell the parents, i think they're doing great. no, sir, they're not going to do great. you will see. i did not know what he was talking about. then we went outside to the runway, and this incredible machine is flying in and it comes over up and we have military guards, we have incredible talented musicians that do this. that's what they do. what happens is, the door opens up and the colonel told me, he

said, sir, when the door opens, the same people that you think are okay do things that you will never see. you will hear sounds like you have never heard. and i saw the door open with a flag over it, the doors open and these beautiful soldiers five or six on each side lifting the coffins and walking down the runway, the plank, we call it. off this cargo plane and i see parents make sounds that were just 20 minutes ago absolutely fine, make sounds, screaming and crying. like you have never seen before. the colonel was telling me that sir, you will see things you had never seen before. a mother who was fine 20 minutes ago, you would think making the military line and

jumping off and then jumpingop onto a coffin of her son or her daughter. jumping on top of the flowers on top of the american flag, i have seen this. a then i have all these people that want to stay. they want to stay. i do not want to stay. we were supposed to be in syria for 30 days, we have now been there for ten years. we were supposed to be in afghanistan for a short period of time. we are now going to be there for close to 19 years. it is time to bring them home it is time to bring them home. it's true. [cheers and applause] it's true. it's time to bring them home. we have done our job, we have defeated everyone that was supposed to be defeated, and now we are, and now we are policing and that's what we are doing. we are policing.

and that, as i said, moree respect for the police, butar these are military people, and those are police. but we are now policing, we are fighting the policing, and you know what, after all of these years, and one other story i have to tell you, i go on friday, i gave out five purple hearts. i meet people that are soau beautiful, so amazing, i met five warriors and one was so badly hurt with a loss of arms and a leg, another one, just very, very devastated. but these are great, great people and i gave out the purple heart and i see the parents and i have to say, i just want to say, the doctors there, the job they do. s you hear so many complaints about doctors and vets, that's

care, nobody has done better, we did things for the vets that nobody thought would be possible. [cheers and applause] but i saw these young men and i gave them their purple hearts and their parents were there crying. and one of them was so amazing i i said, what's your problem, sir my face was blown apart, my nose was just blown apart. he said, sir, it's incredible. i said, that's the most beautiful nose i've ever seen. what you mean. he said, the doctor worked on my face for ten hours in the field he said there were 1,000 fragments, he meant a lot to. he said there were 1,000 fragment, he rebuilt my nose with glue. he glued that the bones together

he rebuilt, i said you of the most unbelievable notes i've ever seen and i saw and his father came over to me, sir sir, honestly, my son looks better now. [laughter] h he said, sir, my son did not have a good looking nose, now look at it, it's beautiful. these doctors, the army, the marines, the medical doctors they are unbelievably great people and they see sights that you and i hopefully will never see. they see things that we will never see. and there's nobody like them and i think to give a shout out to those people. [cheers and applause] so in the case of turkey, and syria, the kurds, we could send in 1,000 troops for a military conflict.

no, you don't want to do that. we could hit turkey very hard financially. or we could mediate a deal between turkey and the kurds, i like that. let's mediate a deal. remember, they've been fighting each other for hundreds of years. we were put in this case by president obama. we did our job, i tell you one other thing, we had to be treated fairly. we have to be treated fairly. we are not treated fairly by other nations, we captured many many ices fighters and most of them came from europe, they came from germany, and they came from france, they came through all of these countries. we call them, i called them myself in many cases, take thee fighters, we don't want them you take them.hei i said no, no, we did do a big favor, they are citizens of germany, their citizens of

france, they are citizens of the various countries in europe. these are your fighters, we don't want them, we don't want to. how unfair we treated? we do them a great favor and they want take the fighters. so we are doing some things that are pretty amazing and every once in a while you have to change course and do would you have to do. the united states met to spent eight trillion dollars. thousands of terribly wounded soldiers, great people, their lives will never be the same. these wars produce only chaos and bloodshed. all of the blood and treasure we sacrifice made thee middle east -- it's less safe, it's less stable, it's less secure.s i say all the time, the greatest mistake our country made in its history was going in to the quicksand of the middle east.

we spent 8 trillion dollars and lost thousands of lives by the way, the other side, we can talk about, that lost millions of lives. what did we do? so we are going to pull them out and we're pulling people out and were going to bring our soldiers back home. we're going to bring our soldiers back home. we may need them for something else and they will be ready. previous administrations lust for regime change.e. also putting historic christian communities in vastly more danger than they were before we started. they are some of the biggestst victims of these power vacuums and reckless foreign adventures. the christians, the christians. we work hard with the christians. we have tremendous evangelical support. we work hard.. so we are slowly getting out off the middle east.

and doing it carefully, and we are rebuilding our military like we have never rebuilt our military before. when i came into office, a very prominent general told me because it looked like we could have a big conflict with someone. he said, sir, we have no ammunition. we have old planes, he hadad planes that were so old they did not fly. we had people going to the desert to airplane graveyards picking up parts. i never want to hear a president of the united states hear those words again. i never want to have a president hear the words, "sir, we have no ammunition" think of that, think of that. now thanks to more than two and half trillion dollars worth of investments and are military, we have more ammunition, more missiles, more rockets, more

tanks, more fighter jets, and more of anything else that we have ever had before. [cheers and applause] and we have no choice. if you look around the world but we have no choice unfortunately. the democrats want to dismantle our military. after years of building up other countries, we are finally building up our country.ry that's what we have to do. [cheers and applause] we are replacing the disaster with a brand-new u.s. mexico canada agreements. usmca, a big victory. for our farmers, workers, ranchers. congress should pass usmca immediately. we hope that nancy pelosi can start thinking instead of thinking about nonsense.

and to protect our industrial back, i placed tariffs on foreign aluminum and foreign steel and also fighting back against years of chronic trade abuse from china, and also the supply chain of china. which is unbreakable, and it's breaking wide open. [cheers and applause] they understand, i don't blame china what's going on, i blame the people that lead our people that let that happen. hundreds of billions of dollars a year has taken from our country to build china. the previous administration they put our nations natural resources under lock and key including thousands and

thousands of acres in a place called superior national forest. last year i traveled to duluth and announced that we would be ending this injustice reopening superior national forest, and restoring mineral exploration for the iron ore mines of minnesota. a tremendous job. [cheers and applause] and now, the iron range is back in business. [cheers and applause] the last time i was here, a man came up to me, he said, sir president obama took our life away. i'll never forget it. a man, a strong guy, he had tears in his eyes. he said it, you gave us back our life because they took it away from us.he and you gave it back. best iron ore there is anywhere.

my administration is also fighting the democrats socialist health care agenda that would obliterate medicare. republicans would protect medicare and we will always protect patients with pre-existing conditions. and for those of you that have private health care, 180 million people, they are going to end it, obliterate us, and most people are thrilled with it. we are going to leave its and you're going to have your plan the way you want it. there is no plan like this. every top democrat now supports late-term abortion, ripping babies straight from the mother's womb, right up to the moment of birth. [boos] and that is why i've asked congress to prohibit extreme late-term abortion because republicans believe that every child is a sacred gift from god.

at first and rainy and media said the explosion actually set the tanker on fire and oil was falling into the red sea, up with the latest reports no say that the crew is safe and the situation on the vessel is unde control. iran claims the tanker was hit by two rockets but that has not been independently confirmed by fox. the u.s. navy that oversees the region has that commented on th incident. pitch it has been growing after washington withdrew last year from a global pact for the nuclear program and impose sanctions at shutting down the radiant exports. the explosion crush tensions between iran and us even higher now. us has accused iran -- which severely crippled them

that we saw tonight. i really want to get your input in your thoughts on if it's true that it was joe biden connection that was tied to the whistle-blower. >> you know, the rally tonight was just unbelievable, if you look at the crowd and the energy that was there. this was vintage donald trump we see a time and time again but we have not seen it at this magnitude in minnesota. so but he's talking about impeachment, obviously it's breaking news is troublesome. we had an anonymous informant some people call him a whistle-blower, i say it's an anonymous informant. now we know it's an anonymous partisan informant.. that actually had a previous relationship with then vice president joe biden or so the reports are claiming. if this is true, it starts toep add to the case that all this is calling into question. was there a coordination with adam schiff and his committee? was there coordination with the

whistle-blower and did they prepare and did indeed did they keep republicans in the dark i think all the acts or will find out more in the coming days. >> jason: congressmen, hold tight there. we want to go to matt whose on the ground in minneapolis. >> becoming an escalating scene outside, we saw people lighting maga hats on fire, washington police holding calling the pigs and right now, there's a confrontation of reporters wind up against police, it's kind of settled down now. for a while, this is a pretty intense scene. here comes something that was now, i don't know something from police officers, but we see it all night long it's been intensifying, people have been instigators, there have been a few characters who have sought to disrupt and oppress the media

country and tonight, i would say right up there with some of the worst instigators. some type of might have been teargas earlier, there's something else that was just thrown at a police officer on a horse. these people are calling the officers pigs. there are people here, some protesters, who were exercising their freedom of speech and right to protest but also instigating. >> jason: matt, how many people are we talking about in the riotous type of atmosphere? how many people are out there? >> i hate that use numbers onbe air, because i'm going to get criticized for getting the wrong estimate but i would say, we see at least hundreds of people right here right now. at least one thousands of protesters, and now it might be a low estimate. again, the rallies wrapping up if you see any of those people in the arena actually coming out

and getting close to what we sing on camera. >> jason: so what you're seeing on camera is this line between police and demonstrators and rushing police, they are rushing in the oppositete direction of police protesters are facing away from the arena. i can tell from my vantage point, but has to be thein president trump supporter are exiting the arena without running into these people right now. when they started to come into the arena, the protesters were allowed to get into close proximity with those people or were they separated into area? >> we have been out there all day, and seeing what trump rally's, and the object was thrown at the horse, and the horse, obviously reacting to this. to answer question, we are up here all day, dozens of peoplend lined up, but they were a separated from the protest and working at the protest as you're seeing right now it did not arrive until later in the evening.ri l a majority of the president supporters lining up to get into

the rally did not face these protesters on the way in, but it seems like they're going to be some that are facing them on the way out. >> jason: we see a number of people with signs and yelling and screaming, can you give us a sense of what is their message? >> we are hearing some of thesem signature chants, shut it down you know, i can't confirm but our crew and our security identify what are probably members of antifa, they have the handkerchiefs covering their mouth, we had to relocate several times throughout the night. we are okay, but there's several times the instigators we're going to interfere with our reports. that's what they wanted to do. that's their message, they're going to shut you down and that's what they are doing. we someone may be to fires and just moments ago, very mucho appeared to be maga hats on fire, we saw people cursing police, rushing at them, and

we're still witnessing that now. throwing bottles at police on horses. you're backing up, there's a couple moments just a short while ago that were very tense and a much more calm scene.. but there's a lot of people out here and a lot of police pushing back. >> jason: matt, thank you for l that report and we will come back to you. i would bring back congressmen meadows, congressmen, when you see this out there, these areve people in minnesota that are police officers. they're attacking people of their own neighbors and friends and loved ones. what's your reaction to this? >> what a couple minutes makes. they're honoring the law enforcement and giving the respect they are do, in a few minutes later you just it appears to be hostility and really an unruly crowd. listen, this is all about makinh sure that they can try to

intimidate a future trump rally supporter and goers and it's not going to happen, you've seen this, time and again we need to make sure respect our law enforcement. that does not mean that you can turn to violence to accommodate your cause. >> jason: i think the election, donald trump has made a position that's very pro-law enforcement, you look at immigration issues out there. want to abolish i.c.e., there's certainly been supportive of them, they been calling them alo kinds of names across the way. i have to tell you, to see thist this election is still a year away and you're seeing what kind of violence that are breaking out. and for people that are tryingre to express their first amendment rights, the mayor in the situation certainly didn't have

a great reaction, when you heard what the mayor was saying about the trump pending visit? >> the mayor, unbelievable partisan instead of a public servant and when you look at him trying to charge the security detail, far and above what the previous events have been charged, i think it just, the american people see it for what it is. you know, a city mayor thatpl didn't vote for this president or probably didn't vote for the president and not supportive. trying to make a political poin instead of serving the public not only there in minneapolis but we see that across the country. we need to make sure we take the message of freedom and hope to all americans from coast-to-coast from maine to florida and from new york to california and in between. we show them the difference, you know, the vast majority of america, they respect law enforcement and appreciate the rule of law and do not endorse lawlessness. >> jason: i think this is

going to be one of the issues come up with are trying to do is oppress people from coming out and try to embarrass people and make them feel shameful for coming out and supporting trump in numbers. i got to tell you, the people that i know in midwest and across this country are not going to be shut down by a bunch of antifa members and some other hoodlums would be out there trying to suppress them. their basic human right of participating in election and being able to express themselves. congressman, i got one otheron thing, about the whistle-blower there's a discussion no weather the so-called whistle-blower, i don't know if you can use that term accurately, but as they whistle-blower, should this person have to testify in person or should they do what is being considered which is allow them to testify based on written question? >> no, listen, we have expense with its, where the chairman of the oversight committee coming of the jurisdiction over whistle-blower, the

whistle-blower protection.n the reason why it's a statute is so that when they become public but they don't get retaliated in -- against. to have anonymous ask questions via is not what our government is set up to do the whistle-blower wants to come forward, they have to be identified and they have to have protection they need to be cross-examined to to see what the motivation. particularly, there is a bias for a partisan standpoint. we need to make sure that's happening. >> jason: i don't know if congress meant, yet the feedback >> jason: i don't know if congressman, if you're able to see the feedbackk we are able to see here on camera. but, we haven't seen yet are the trump supporters coming out of building.

middle fingers, saying vulgars against the president. g so people inside this parking garage, you can see them kind of gathering around the cars. a couple minutes ago, we saw a small fire of what appeared to be one maga hats lit on fire. short while later, would start all this recent tension is some type of material whether it was a teargas or we are not certain but that was submitted into the air. we see people gathering around doing the usual chance and police have certainly i would say increased their presence here with the police line and lots of different types of police vehicles, right gear near and far, it seems like they're well prepared. we saw people throwing items at police officers, we saw people

throwing items at the forces, of course, so i tensing and it's chaotic. the one thing that's happening here it just seems like perhaps by design, president trump supporters are exciting the arena through them -- got away so they are not necessarily running into this crowd. but that's not to say anywhere outside this joint arena there aren't protesters clashing with the president trump supporters. >> jason: seems like there's a lot of president trump supporters, if you been at the rally, if you're getting in your car, you seen as the police presence strong enough to repel? >> yes, right now, dozens of police officers in riot gear and helmets, in vests. they are standing behind the barricade, not necessarily getting involved with any of the people or the protesters here in the crowd. i don't know if they see people surrounding the cars and it seems like they're trying to

keep their distance and also, we sauce people getting in their faces, calling them pigs, giving them the middle finger. all types of just vulgars, and throughout the day, there's beet a series of indicators here people trying to start trouble. protesters and demonstrators saying i wish these guys would leave, because he can tell there's protesters come up we'vs seen plenty of people who are just trying to get the message across. but it's a mixed in with the crowd our instigators. >> jason: matt, stay safein joining me now to respond in south carolina senator tim scott. we saw this in 2016, we are still more than a year away than the election. it seems to be getting more violent. is there anything to be done to quell the negativity in terms of turning to violence? people can protest, that's the american way. but to turn to violence and be able to attack police officers seems like a bridge too far. >> it's just a bridge too far it's the most ridiculous thing i saw on tv today. i

i spent the day thanking law enforcement officers are from charleston to aiken, for their service and i keep telling the officers, it's never been this hard and they shake their head. watching this situation in minnesota, it just sickens my stomach. we have men and women who are willing to put their lives on the line to protect the american public and you have anti-trump protesters instigating and inciting violence against the sw enforcement and trump supporters. here are folks who say the president trump should it " calo down" and they are inciting and instigating violence against our law enforcement. >> jason: what do you tell the average person who has their

right to express their first amendment's, but gets intimidated physically by people like this? >> absolutely, i've heard from folks in airports to public rallies who have a maga hats ong guy telling me as an african-american fella, he's been accosted in new york. i read that story and one person called me about another incident. the truth is, you find people consistently being intimidatednt and then asking him to cower down and bow down to the new socialist regime. the approach towards an anarchy continuing to run amok. we cannot afford that there is -- we cannot afford that in the democracy on earth and what you see outside this rally and in this country is this level the anger and hostility towards the president and frankly towards folks who want to do it by the book. folks who want to obey the law. folks who want to drain the swamp.

this is our good americans hardworking americans were just looking forward to being involved in the civil engagement that is necessary to protect the freedom of the folks on the other side so that they have the right, the right to protest. but not the right to incite violence. not the right to instigate a physical response. this was a sickening scene that we saw outside of the trump rally. >> jason: for those of youou just joining us, the president was at a campaign rally there in minneapolis, vice president spoke, eric trump spoke, they had a discussion with the president and then campaign rally. hour and 40 minutes, it's wrapping up, what happen it's hard to turn violence, police officers getting thrown out, and at least one on fire according to a reporter, concern for theog safety of those leaving. but roughly 19 or 20,000 people leaving and trying to get home. the weather is a little

inclement there. there is help with the sky bridge going across, there's a massive direct confrontation between the trump supporters were at the rally and these people that were not just protesting but actually wanting to riot. they were then able to go into this parking lot but our own matt has told us it would not people like antifa and some other people that were reallynd trying to incite violence and throwing things at horses, and law enforcement. senator, as i look at this election, first of all, it's still a year away, but as i look at this, there's a distinction and i'm not trying to politicize this, but it's a big message of one donald trump is saying, it'p very pro-law enforcement. but with this rally and minneapolis, got the redshirtst supporting trump and there's a big issue there with the mayor. when you heard what the mayor was trying to do to shut down the discussion, what was your reaction? >> it sounds like price gouging number one, from my perspective having worked through and lived

through hurricanes on the coast. you see folks raising the prices to take advantage of the situation. it seems like the mayor, the public servant, was trying to price gouge the trump campaign and push them away from coming to minnesota. obviously it didn't work. >> jason: senator, it wasn't just price gouging, he just at one have a discussion, senator stay there with this, were going to go live with matt and were going to come back. matt, tell us the latest. >> what's happening now, police have clearly identified where protesters are surrounding cars that are exiting the parking lot and it seems like these protesters are assuming these are president trump supporter's but you can see now, these protesters are blocking the parking lot. we saw someone yelling punch the windows, the police are certainly beefed up the presence at this and we see numerous

police officers surrounding the white suv on the right. trying to protect whoever's inside. this is a tense scene. it's not clear where it's going to go, but we will continue updating you throughout the evening. >> jason: we will come back to matt, it will be interesting to see if the police are able ton create an alleyway so the car can get out of there and the remaining trump supporter's are trying to exit can do so safely. i want to bring back and senator tim scott. it's not what we want to see in our country, the right to assemble freely, you have the right to protest, but it's just so wrong. f >> it's absolute wrong, we, should do tomorrow morning every single law-abiding american citizen should take the time to thank all the law enforcement officers around this country. let's make it our priority

tomorrow to respond to this type of hypocrisy, to respond to this type of infighting violence just trying to do their job and go home to their family. let's make tomorrow a day that we appreciate and love our law enforcement officers from coast-to-coast and sea to shining sea. >> jason: hey, listen, the people that are out there, there -- they're protesting and yelling, they're screaming and throwing things at the police officers. they are trying to scare the horses from what they're doing. these are the fellow minneapolis -- these are residents of minnesota. when they put on the police uniform, they are to be apolitical, but why do these protesters have to go after law enforcement is so wrong. >> they consistently target the wrong people. they should look at the mirror and ask themselves what is it like to -- they are trying to find a way t create anarchy in the worlds greatest democracy.
