terrifying, isn't it? those poor kurds -- weight. that wasn't syria. in fact, that tape was from mexico, our neighbor to the south. we share nearly 2,000 miles of border with mexico. you think our leaders should pay attention to what's going on, they don't. if they did, they would be worried because tonight the mexican government, you saw from the tip, appears to be losing its war with the sinaloa cartel. the mexican government captured the son of prison drug lord el chapo. they only so much violence, the tape showed it, the mexican government caved and released el chapo's son. that's shocking by american standards, but mexico its routine. last year the country of mexico

recorded 33,000 murders -- that's almost a double of murders were reported in this country. but mexico has one-third as many people as we do, to put it in some perspective. this year, they may break their own murder record. you would never know any of this by watching american media. our press does not cover mexico, except in the most caricatured terms. our leaders wring their hands of the syrian/turkey border but they fear a resurgence of isis, but the people who played a tape of that isis is a scary threat along with iran, but they don't seem to care at all about the sinaloa cartel along our southern border. isis is awful and in theory they might kill americans in terror attacks, but the sinaloa cartel is killing thousands of americans every year? how? they are the biggest single smuggler of fentanyl in the

united states. that says something about the priority of both parties. mitch mcconnell released and announcements withdraw troops from syria, it would be a grave mistake to withdraw troops from syria. for two years when republican party had complete control of congress and the white house, mitch mcconnell and the rest of his party did nothing to secure our border, our actual border. if only the kurds were battling the fentanyl epidemic, maybe washington would care about the real will crisis in america. maybe mitt romney will consider the crisis worthy of his attention. we invited romney on the show tonight. he declined. derek maltz is a former head of the dea special operations division. thank you for coming on. >> thank you, tucker. >> tucker: the video that has been coming in all day, what

looks to be a profound crisis is unfolding in mexico. are we overstating that? >> tucker, no. the sinaloa's a cario running around with armored cars, machine guns. but the mexican government -- it's the blueprint for all cartels in the future. mitch mcconnell should worry more about america and the safety and severity of our people. look what is happening to 32,000 people last year who died from fentanyl and a video is one of the guys pushing that poison into america. that is what matters, okay? that's the priority. they can't focus. they don't know how to focus when we have this problem on our border and the poor people in texas, arizona, california -- but it's all over america, tucker. these cartels are a multibillion dollar enterprise and they are taking over that country. shame on the mexican governments. by the way, tucker, where was

cmar? they are the elite navy force that killed they had this bad operation, they didn't plan it properly, didn't coordinate properly. the u.s. agencies did not coordinate properly. it's a total mess and embarrassment to the country. >> tucker: i don't understand how a war can take place, progress, explode in the country right next to ours but we've got millions of foreign nationals from that country living within our borders. nobody says anything about it. no acknowledgment it's happening. >> tucker, i've been a very big advocate of declaring these cartels terrace. under the president back in march was considering it. the bureaucrats in the beltway protecting their own kingdoms don't want to do it. if you look at the drug prices alone -- 68,000 people died in america last year. that's more than these different

wars and these conflicts and we aren't doing anything about it. we aren't taking a sense of urgency, we don't have a really good strategy, we aren't educating the kids about the dangers of these chemicals coming from china, by the way, where people are not talking about is the chinese organized crime and the mexican cartels have formed an alliance that we've never seen in our entire history of this country. and that china is not a big fan of america, right? they are a communist country, they are looking to destroy this country. yet we are sleeping and worried about troops coming out of syria. thank god. i lost a brother in this war, in afghanistan. thank god the president took it out of that country. what are we doing there? >> tucker: a great question. thank you for that. >> thank you, tucker. >> tucker: doug mcgregor is a retired u.s. army colonel, a frequent guest on this show. thank you for coming on. put this in perspective. you have a hot war, what appears to be going on right to the south of us in mexico, and you

have something of a stalemate going on in syria. washington is paying attention to the latter, not the former. why? >> well, falluja on the rio grande does not seem to interest them much. if you look at this footage and go back over the last 5-10 years in iraq or afghanistan, you'll see the same kinds of people in pickup trucks running around with assault weapons. i look carefully at this footage and i was shocked to see some of these mercenaries working for the drug cartels carrying squad automatic weapons. this is weaponry you'd only find in the u.s. army and marine corps. they completely outgunned the opposition. so there is no question that this is a very powerful force. this force reaches into the united states. they have tentacles that reach into communiqués in los angeles and chicago, baltimore, phoenix, arizona. the kind of violence we are seeing right now in mexico could inevitably explode in this country unless we close and

secure the border and begin to rebuild the rule of law in the united states. why is no one interested? well, the chamber of commerce isn't lobbying very hard and the body is making money defending the united states, but there are a lot of powerful lobbies who are very interesting in enriching senators and congressmen willing to keep u.s. forces in syria. >> what would you say to a u.s. senator, republican or democrat, because on this subject i would say equally guilty who is spending all of his time learning about the kurds and iran and syria and ignoring what's happening just south of texas? >> the collective indifference to the american people and the security of this country is not going unnoticed. and millions of people in states like kentucky, north carolina, south carolina are having buyer's remorse. if they think they can depend exclusively on donors to get them reelected and keep them in

question and he was called a heckler and a hack. and now you see journalist interrupting the president on a routine screening questions at home and they are called her relic and seekers of truth. there is always they don't realize they are constantly contradicting themselves when you play videos like that. >> tucker: i was actually the reporter's editor and fielded a lot of phone calls. jonathan alter started yelling at me! i guess what it really points out, it's not the political bias, obviously they are all liberals, but how cut off they are -- i mean, these are people who really think of nancy pelosi as a civil rights pioneer or something. rather than just a politician. they revere nancy pelosi. what percentage of americans feel that way of pelosi?
