impeachment probe. brian: will it get anywhere. mark mayor disit sorting it all out in washington. mark? >> house republicans have made it clear they are not will happy with adam schiff. they will place on the house floor to censure the california lawmaker. they have criticized his hand links of the intelligence committee and behavior during a recent hearing investigating the president's call with ukraine's president this past summer. now, there is already a long list of lawmakers who have said that they have signed on to support the censure. 135 names are going to back this effort. house minority leader kevin mccarthy blasted schiff in a recent interview and said lawmakers have to hold each other accountable. >> the very least we can do is censure him. that's not removing him from committee which i would like to i called for back in march when he lied the first time. at the very least this goes to the honesty and integrity confident house of

and testify without an attorney. he said this is so -- it's not following our constitution. this is unheard of. and he calls it a kangaroo court. steve: all secret. brian: rick perry was asked to go. he said i'm not going. the president for the most part is not providing the documents. state department officials who we hear over and over again for the last two and a half years does not like this trump administration. does not like their way of doing things and using this opportunities behind closed doors in many respects. outside maybe one or two. to rip on the president. i thought will hurd who doesn't get up every day and says the president doesn't do everything right. he will be retiring soon. a former cia guy. he wrough brought up yesterday about this whole affair and what they have not said. listen. >> we haven't heard from any ukrainian official that felt like there was this arrangement. we haven't even had a ukrainian official tell a state department official

that there -- that they felt like their arms were being twisted. i would have thought based on some of the state department officials that we have met and interviewed so far that you would even get an inkling of happening to the country you are posing to in this case ukraine, if they hear something. they are going to go to their contacts at the embassy and say hey, what does this actually mean? and we haven't gotten any whiff of that when it comes to this issue. brian: you know, you book will hurd and hope he will be like justin amore and kill the president. will deep thinker. important part of this story. trying to get to the bottom of it. we watched that ukrainian president speak for 12 hours. when he was asked about any pressure from the president. he said foss for the last time no. not the. steve: there was no quid pro quo. brian: don't the ukrainians have a vote in this? they could easily blow up the president. steve: obviously it's clear to the democrats they think there is a different angle to it. that's what they're digging around for.

of the russians. kamala harris is running, elizabeth warren, amy klobuchar, marianne williamson. here's the thing. tulsi gabbard knows, feels in her heart that ever since 2016, when she was the dnc vice chair and she went against the party hierarchy to support bernie sanders instead of hillary clinton, hillary has had it out for her. ainsley: they were grooming her. she was goldible child of the d rng. then she dropped ow she wasn't happy with what was happening in the dnc and she supports bernie. she says hillary hasn't forgotten it. and that's why she is saying she is in bed with the russians. listen to what her video. this is a individual know she posted on social media. are. >> people warned me in 2016 that my endorsement of bernie sanders would be the end of my quote, unquote, political career. they said clinton will never forget there have been countless hit pieces, full of smears against me from day one of this campaign.

they have tried to destroy my reputation. they can portray me as a traitor. then they can do it to anyone. in fact, that's exactly the message that they want to get across to you, that if you stand up against hillary and the party power brokers, they will destroy you and discredit your message. but here is the truth. they will not intimidate us. they will not silence us. brian: she posted that on twitter and tweeted this out a little bit later. hillary and her gang, rich powerful leading send a powerful message to you, shut up, toe the line or it be destroyed. we will not be silenced. this the best thing to happen to tulsi gabbard. ainsley: i agree. brian: as wacky as anything the president has been accused of doing or let's say unorthodox. this is nuts. for hillary clinton to say that and for david plouffe to know better, i'm not saying is he is not a professional interviewer. it's his podcast. is he smart enough to know this is the stupidest thing she has ever said. and there is a long line.

started well before hillary called tulsi gabbard a russian asset. here to look back is david darker. from "the washington examiner." where does this all start. >> during the 2016 democratic primary, obviously the antiestablishment left which gabbard is a part, i guess, was unhappy with how the democratic national committee was handling the primary. they thought that the dnc was manipulating the contest to benefit hillary clinton. brian: and they were. >> well, there is some argument about that. but gabbard certainly felt that as somebody who supported bernie sanders, even though bernie sanders never acted that upset about the whole thing, gabbard was. and, of course, nobody thought much about this since then. except that hillary clinton had some choice words for her. it may have been because many of the party regulars and obviously hillary clinton was among those, felt that during that period the left made life more difficult for hillary

clinton. sanders backers made life more difficult for hillary clinton even though in their point of view he didn't have a realistic chance of winning the primary. he still pushed her to the very end. there were some accusations made here and there that made it difficult, i think, with inside the party. now have you both of them going at it which, of course, only benefits tulsi gabbard. hillary clinton is not a candidate. we are all talking about her where we wouldn't be otherwise. brian: it benefits her now. remember then, februar february 2016, democratic donor to tulsi gabbard, one of the excerpts from it: we were very disappointed that she left. hillary clinton will be our party's nominee and you standing on ceremony to support the sinking bernie sanders ship is disrespectful to hillary. we no longer trust your judgment so you will not be raising money for your campaign. and then she said she looked back and she said this about what she was warned about. listen. >> i was heavily warned by people who care about me, to not endorse senator sanders

because of that fear of retaliation, and, look, that fear is something that exists in a lot of folks that i have heard from. there is far too much at stake here. to stand on the sideline and let politics get in the way of what's real. brian: so she stood up strong then. and she basically predicted this, david. >> right. although, you know, it's interesting. because she stood up to hillary clinton. she had this agreement whether she was outspoken about it. still a congresswoman from hawaii. still running for president in the democratic primary. bernie sanders actually ran against hillary clinton. and a lot of democrats were unhappy with that meanwhile, he is a frontrunner this time. his influence in the party only grew during the 2016 campaign. and since. so i think it's -- when you are unhappy with establishment and you claim they all have all sorts of magical powers to spres you and make your life miserabl miserable.

i think tulsi gabbard is doing just fine. bernie sanders is doing just fine. breen brian what you are saying is right. it doesn't mean she didn't just say that to david plouffe a couple days ago that she is a russian both and that's crazy. >> that's correct. and hillary clinton often says things that are a little bit, you know, off kilter. this doesn't excuse any of it. there is definitely a way she could have discussed it that would have made more sense. i think, you know, the point here is that the establishment doesn't quite have the magical power its opponents think it does. and that tulsi gabbard does have some opinions on foreign policy. particularly in regard to syria. that many democrats actually don't like. have a problem with. brian: absolutely. >> that's probably her problem in the primary. we could spend a year and a half talking about hillary and the interesting things she chooses to say. she did that during the 16 campaign. didn't help her. she still does it now. we need to note difference between the two. brian: got it. david drucker, thanks so much. >> thanks a lot. brian: a democrat running for congress now calling to disarm the police.

with what he thinks is going to get him the votes. none of this will ever work, disarming the police department. steve: dr. porcher, do you remember when people used to run on i'm going to support the police. i'm a law and order candidate? >> i can understand. the candidate is coming across as a provocateur, so to speak. he sees injecting this hyperbole is the ability to connect to a certain voter's population. the truth of the matter, if you look at the quantitative data that he is focusing on, is he doing a comparison with the u.k. or, i should say london specifically, where you have a lot of officers that do not carry firearms. but the qualitative piece is that's a very different society. and believe it or not, the homicide rate in london is high as well. this is just not being introduced into the equation. but when we take into consideration firearms that are not connected with officers or guns or excuse me, officers not carrying firearms it, presents a significant problem for not just the nypd but that district of southern west chester as well that the congressman is looking to

represent. steve: doctor, in that particular package we read, is he not talking about taking away the guns from the bad guys. only taking away the guns from the cops. >> yes. which is ludicrous. first of all, when you also look at data, you see there was approximately 500 incidents in which at least one person was shot in new york city. so to think about that you are saying that you are not basically going to protect the public. because here it is, you have minimum of 500 people shot, which means there was a weapon there and if you are going to disarm the police, how do you expect them to be able to help out those communities when they don't even have a weapon. steve: joe, he says he wants this to happen to so thought racist institutional biases that led to use of force against those people that i cited earlier get rid of those. >> once again, is he wrong. i don't know how he can compare that to what's going on right now in new york city. all he is doing is jumping on a bandwagon that everybody likes to be on right now, which is against law enforcement. and that seems to be that the trend today.

reporter: the congress is taking a step to censure house congressman adam schiff. now schiff says that it was just a parody but president trump tweeted last night, quote, when do we deposety schiff why he fraudulently made up my phone call and. i demand a deposition. at least 135 house republicans now support a resolution to censure congressman schiff and house minority leader kevin mccarthy explained why yesterday. >> the very least we can do is censure him. that is not removing him from committee. i would like to do, i called for back in march when he lied the first time. at the very least, this goes to the honesty, integrity of the house of the representatives. reporter: in addition to that parody of that phone call

mccarthy accuses schiff of misleading the public saying he did not know the identity of the whistle-blower. schiff's committee staff had been in contact with the whistleblower prior to the filing of the complaint but that schiff did not know who the whistleblower was. some republicans dispute that that is part of the reason for the censure most which is expected to take place, they will try to take place sometime today, guys, i should point out, this vote, this resolution doesn't have a very high chance of passing because of course democrats control the house but republicans are going for it anyway. ainsley: even if it did pass it would basically be a slap on the wrist, right? reporter: exactly. steve: nancy pelosi decides whether they will vote on it, doesn't she? reporter: i believe that will be the case. she is the house speaker. the republicans, quite a lot of them, they will try to at least put this up for a vote.

one in three are positive about the president, given the economy, that means two in three are not? >> there is a big chunk, about 32, 34% are neutral. so that doesn't mean the rest is all negative. steve: 1/3 is up for grabs? >> i tell my friends on the right and the left, don't take us for granted. this group does not default to being a certain leaning way. you have to build the work. you have to build trust with any relationship and voter segment. brian: finally, when mitt romney loses they do autopsy in the republican party, you have got to ease on rhetoric when it comes to the border. hispanic community takes that anti-hispanic building a wall. the president didn't subscribe to that. how does the hispanic, if you can, from your perspective, from what you found out how do they view talk on border security? >> border security ranks as number four top issue. so it matters because a lot of people have worked really hard to go through a process.
