we are happy to have you. tell us why you're running for senate and why do you think you can do better than cory booker? >> as cory booker done any job? one of the main reasons i entered this race is we've got to bring back family values. for too long he has been gallivanting along, where is he when people are struggling? can't break free from cycles of poverty, the lead crisis in the work, he is showboating around trying to raise money for his failed presidential bid and done nothing for the state. time for real leadership to step up and bring jersey values back to washington. todd: let's look at these numbers. a percentage of missed votes from january 1st to august 7th of this year. it is among those, 45% is a lot. he is not winning currently in the democratic nomination. obviously you want to be in dc making votes and making change.

>> it is not just about dc but bringing jersey proud back to dc. if you see the statistics more people are leaving the state than living in there. i want to make new jersey a place we are proud of. we need real leadership in dc. my platform is on things that matter to folks in new jersey. we are struggling with healthcare. the drugs are unaffordable. i started my career in pharmacy and i know what it is like to have cumbersome regulations, we need to make changes towards that. >> considering your background as a pharmacist, how do you push toward medicare for all? >> if you have medicare for all, the intent of medicare has been shot down. program to help seniors and the most vulnerable and it is a

position in pennsylvania especially western pennsylvania. he has done things that are absolutely incredible. people who said couldn't get on beside the about energy and that somehow we have to find a way to tax this because people are getting away with something they shouldn't be able to get away with, we are talking jobs and huge economic impact and a president who has won over the blue collar workers in america. >> some democrats wants to ban fracking like elizabeth warren. if that happens what would happen to your community? >> the advent of the shale fight and rutherford these are other layers, centuries of a product that we never knew was there before. this is a pie-in-the-sky idea that we are going to shut this down and replace it with something else of the question is what is the something else and what will it cost?

warren. carley: are phantom bernie sanders jumping ship? young american foundation joins us with more. in march, 6% of college student supported elizabeth warren. now that number is up to 33%. what happened there? >> we have seen a lot of movement. the field has narrowed down. young people are interested in this idea in the first place, this is an idea, this is not news to you or your viewers, they have been taught they can get something for nothing whether it be free college or free healthcare, now the race is on to see who will give the most free stuff without any concern for how will impact taxpayers are hard-working americans or whether the policies are mathematically possible.

the race is on for who can promise the most free stuff and young people are falling for that. todd: do you basically go after this college vote or say we need to go for the adults on the room, work for an honest day's pay and try to win the overall presidency in 2020? >> is an opportunity for conservatives to make the case about socialism being a harm to the united states. recent polling found while two thirds of high school and college students today feel income inequality is a greater problem than government intervention in the free market more than half of those say respondents were unable to define socialism. they seem to be buying into it but i don't think they understand what they are buying into or the damage it will cost to their future or the future of the country so there's an opportunity to make the case for freedom, for free market and show why socialism has failed before and it will fail here and do great harm.

carley: alexandria ocasio cortez and the squad endorsed bernie sanders which is surprising, they picked the older white gentlemen as opposed to a woman or minority. do you think there endorsement will do anything to raise the amount of support sanders is going to get among young people? >> the more important thing will come down to what is the state of the rising generation? do they have jobs, good paying jobs, do they have jobs where they are able to work full-time and those opportunities speak louder than the leftist leaders have been propped up by socialism or things like that so it will come down to our young people doing well in the economy and coming out of eight years of the obama administration people today whether they remember what that was like when i will be happier now with these free-market anti-regulation policies than they were under the obama administration. todd: fascinating turn of eventss.
