might rise to the level of criminal offense? >> that's obviously an item of great interest to me. >> passed the depends. for his part former deputy director of the fbi andrew mccabe on cnn thought to shift the focus of the condo. >> it there seems to be with the president and attorney general as well underlying lack of trust. if those decision-makers are not convinced that that they are not taking the russian threat from 2020 elections as seriously as they should. >> remember mckay visit guy who himself is under investigation. perhaps is himself a former

obama security official and might have thought about disclosing that in the conversation. and finally did nbc hire alex jones? >> this bizarro treasure hunt for dirt on our own intelligence services to try to set up russia's interference is a false flag operation. according to the conspiracy, russia didn't do that, russia didn't intervene. what happened is the obama administration that was setting this all up as a frame job. >> i actually felt bad for the folks over at the other networks last night. the news came late and they didn't have time to fully process it or and marinate in it. at some tinfoil hats might have been on a little too tight. the same people spent two years of course promoting the russia hoax and they hyped every detail of the molar probe claiming it wasn't politically motivated. and instead of embracing of an

investigation by highly respected attorney, they are lashing out and trying to discredit durham of all people who has bipartisan accolades for him, but not any longer. and he has to finish his work. joining me now is mollie hemingway, fox news contributor, and victor david hansen, senior fellow at the hoover institution. this is happening exactly how you said it would. the left is in full panic mode. where do they go from here beyond of the smears that began last night for both bar and it durham? >> i don't think they have anywhere to go. i think klapper was right but, the timing was odd but in the exact opposite way that he thinks. these things have been long, ongoing investigations but what's weird is i think in a strange way they helped explain this panicky psychodrama about the whistle-blower because on a

scale of 1-10, melodrama about trumps impeachment, it rates about a storm a or a moment because of about three. yet they have this entire impeachment case on this whistle-blower that violated the statute by first going straight to adam schiff's staff. it doesn't match the official transcript and the statute itself was changed. it didn't make sense and that he doesn't want to come forward. they asked themselves, why do they predicate this whole latest push for impeachment? i think the answer is they have to change the news cycle because the new cycle, to use an old english expression, the worm has turned and it's going to be mccabe and brennan and klapper and call for the next six mont months.

>> laura: it's all about 2020. the idea that this is about finding out the truth, it's not about finding out the truth, it's about 2020 election politics. molly, this will some of what we heard last night as it was unfolding, as the news was coming out. watch. >> we are asking whether or not this was politically motivated, whether the president wanted a way to try to get to the bottom of this deep states of conspiracy that he thinks is behind him. >> conspiracy theory that they are trying to deflect attention away from the entire impeachment proceeding. >> now conspiracy theory are rising to the level of length a jet investigation. >> laura: molly, this is like gas where they are corner to kind of in a room with no doors. >> it's an amazing amount of production. if there even a hint of skepticism, we were told that this was proof of guilt.

this probe is politically motivated. one, thus conspiracy theory for years. >> don jr. and trump tower. >> not a single, a huge embarrassing failure for the media. at the same time, the question about spying on the trump campaign using human informants, national security letters and overseas intelligence assets, that was a crazy conspiracy theory. it's not a crazy conspiracy theory, and they are being shown once again to have lied to their viewers and lied to their readers or lied to the people about what was going on. >> laura: another element of this breaking news last night came in the form of this filing

that sidney powell was representing michael flynn. and that was an impromptu sudden interview that he was asked to do with fbi agents. the legal team is alleging that the agents tampered with the evidence to charge flynn himself with lying. that's an interview memo after the subject is interviewed. so the question is, according to sidney powell to "take the kill shot on flynn" after he obtained these leaked transcripts of flynn's phone calls. klapper's people denied this, and that's information about these calls with kissling act.

suddenly, the article appears and the agents proceed to interview michael flynn. >> we know there was a criminal leak of classified information and we know that happened because it appeared in "the washington post." there are no charges against the person who did it despite it being a very serious crime. whether klapper was the person who did that and or whether others were involved is unknown at this point. but what's really unfortunate is, without any investigation, instead of going down rabbit holes without a single american being found to have done this. we do know from klapper's testimony that he did like to talk to reporters. he has admitted that in this testimony. >> remember they have seen it how mike received lot of documents. the defense is entitled to his exculpatory information, and

molly and i were just talking in the green room, their text messages that have just been released in the filing that nobody has seen before. that referred to leaks and a crescendo of leaks, this is wild stuff. we are getting behind the scenes picture of how these agents were, from my view, my background in criminal defense, if i were sidney powell i would be making this exact argument. you were approved of the set up a flynn. and that's obviously what it looks like more and more. >> they referred to each other in their own texts as if lisa page was massaging or auditing peter strzok's notes to make a more criminalizing case and then lied about it when she was confronted with the actual text. it's even more bizarre because remember these are the same to who post fecteau decided that james comey's presidential men

those were not secret but they were merely confidential. so peter strzok was everywhere. he was with cheryl mills, interview michael flynn, and comey kind of joke saying we got the stroke in there without anything on the part of flynn. it it was an incestuous operation and they probably broke not only an ethical canon but they broke the law. wheels of justice grind slowly but they do grind. this is not a psychodrama like whistle-blowing. this is something -- that's why they are scared and terrified. that's impeachment dilution. >> laura: the threads are being pulled from the fabric. i want to put up this one tweet.

this analyst put this up last night. it was bad enough that trump and barr were wasting resources on this but now they are fully weaponizing doj. the attorney general can be impeached. the doj was weaponized and this was a threat to the entire republic whether it was the handling of the clinton probe or the dramatically different handling of the investigation to the trump campaign. that's not good for everybody. we need to be able to trust in the rule of law and trust in these agencies, and so whatever needs to be done to clean it out is good. >> molly and victor, we always appreciate you coming on especially on a friday night. president trump escaped today and went to south carolina for criminal justice reform summit at a historically black college.

chicago, he should go to philly, he should go to oakland, california. i don't think there should be any places in this country where the president shouldn't go and sell the message of peace and prosperity. today and south carolina we had this great moment where anne-marie johnson who is one of the creators of the first deaf act and she spoke about what this means you're dead for her. >> we are human beings. i represent, as you see my face here, you see the faces of the ones you will never see unless we come together. it was only by the grace of god that our president's heart was touched. >> laura: matthew charles said that trump saved his life.

>> i would say this without hesitation i would not be a friend, and what was a reaction like? >> everyone's heart was just so filled with joy, these are actual people that have been released from prison and because of the president at the administration comic administration they are free to have a new lease on life. and when the people, and it was a very moving but real moment. these are real issues and policies that have been passed.

the doctor when you could get better? >> there's no medical benefit from these projects, and that you have been all over this. i think of all the people out there who've discussed with specificity the threat and the substances and you've read a lot about the marijuana industry. at the big money push for pot legalization. the truth is being withheld, and the cbc said now probable lung injuries including 34 deaths, both the fda and cdc have not yet identified a brand, substance or device. but in most cases the illnesses have been tied to thc vaping products. alex, this is a huge issue. >> it's a huge problem. there are a couple of really interesting facets to this. one is the cannabis industry

tries to hide under cbd and so they encourage people who may not be paying close attention to this, cbd is good for xyz and that means cannabis is good for xyz. beyond the fact that there is no evidence that cbd is good for x, y, or z, cbd isn't really cannabis. grandma is using cbd supposedly, she thinks it will help her arthritis but her grandson is upstairs getting high on thc. so those who only use cbd won't know enough to know the difference. as for vaping, the industry has gone out of its way to demonize "illegal" vapes. that's not true. that people have gotten sick and it died after using thc vapes that they bought and regulated stores. these are the cdc or the fda has

an idea of whether it's an adult rent in the vaping or it may be high potency near pure thc itself which is lung damaging. both the fda and the cdc has had to people, don't vaped thc and that's the message that should be communicated by the public health authorities, by the states, and by the media. but because everyone loves marijuana so much right now, it's getting a little bit lost. >> laura: it's big money. so you've got people who are against legalization, and this is stuff that is toxic for our children. in some cases it's violent outbursts. i want to put up a picture of ricky d'ambrosio, a northern california man forced into a

medically induced coma due to vaping. many others are not. some with long illnesses, that may never fully heal. they are begging people please don't let your kids do this. make sure you know what your kids are doing. >> it's insane. that we allow this to get to the level it is. humpty dumpty is already broken and you can't put them back to gather rate easily. when it comes to products like -- we can't just let this industry run rampant. >> pot legalization most on though. right? well wrong. and the results have been

tragic. just yesterday three men including two mexican nationals were charged with fatally shooting brian issue mel, a sheriff's deputy who was responding to a reported theft of an illegal pot grow operation in northern california. >> there is a lot of violence that surrounds these gardens and we see a perfect example of it right now. to say this is just medicine and does no harm and that the california laws that have been passed have been adequately preparing us and dealing with the situation is a fallacy. >> laura: this situation is beyond a travesty. it will impair the american people, hurt our kids, hurt our community and all of it. a federal official telling "the ingraham angle" that the california ag office instructed the county sheriff and not to give i.c.e. agents access to the

suspect in order to determine their immigration status. fox news contributor tom, how potentially dangerous is what this ag in california is doing? >> i just heard before i came on the show that the u.s. attorney stepped in and was able to get i.c.e. agents in there to talk to these people. this isn't about what's right or wrong for the community, it's about -- they are not protecting law enforcement and not protecting law-abiding america americans. >> laura: these issues kind of dovetail. people say, legal pot will makes stuff so much better, the cartel will cut off their power, goal. cut rate and lower quality, if you can be any lower quality than we already have. and it's cheaper. most of these kids aren't going to pot stores to get really

expensive marijuana cupcakes. >> when you legalize marijuana, -- people who weren't going to do it, as you said, much of it is stronger. if you want a stronger product for cheaper money than you go to the black market. >> laura: i was talking to chicago pd, and two officers that we did a short ride along with, they went on and on on how the legalization is just destroying communities. these are not political people, they say we do it every day, we know what's happening. this will get worse and worse. ditto with the sanctuary status of these communities. the jails as you have noted many times are brimming with illegal immigrants and yet we still have democrats who ridicule trump

this year he is targeting to virginia county's, not far from where we are broadcasting from tonight. joining me now are two candidates that he is trying to take out. jonathan fahey, commonwealth attorney for fairfax county and nicole. it all right jonathan, what kind of candidates but she was unseated from someone with no experience. but what's going on here? >> i'm running because the incumbent, ray morrow, the democrat, the types of candidates he is our candidates, that my opponent has been doing everything in virginia courts. he is running on criminal

justice reform but it is essentially the underlying theme is to delegitimize my entire system. and he is running on the ideas of not prosecuting certain crimes, that all of our -- our whole system is not legitimate. >> i want to put up the dossier. and it's a resume of little experience. they graduated law school in 2010, he had a brief stint as a federal prosecutor and, that flags areas of systemic determination and implement solutions to fix those inequalities. and what they do not prosecute

entire of crime just as been enjoying a declining violent crime rate. so the commonwealth attorney, that's the most important prosecutor in the entire large swath and york county, loudoun county is one of the most important counties in the country as is fairfax county. >> what that means is you have prosecutors who are now not interested in community safety, not interested in victims rights and protecting our communities. what they are interested in is weaponizing these local prosecutors offices to try to push the local agenda. >> so it's bypassing the state legislature in trying to affect policy change, through executive prioritization or executive act, action. so i have that correct? >> that's exactly right. they are not prosecuting certain theft offenses, not prosecuting certain crimes in school.

and now tell us what the crescent effect is. and that's really 2018. george soros candidate, larry krasner in philadelphia as a district attorney. since then, the murder rate went up 10% and that might not seem like a lot unless you are one of the 35 people that lost a mother, a father, a son or a brother. that's amazing and this has happened when crime has been going down other places. philadelphia is a total disast disaster. >> laura: it's a nightmare. >> the cops and prosecutors are at war with each other.

we have the safest large county in america and he wants to bring philadelphia to fairfax county. we have a great attorney and we have a great police department. >> laura: people around the country, i want to emphasize this. we talk a lot on this show about national politics. it's important and it's an impeachment work going on, we have budget fights about military deployments and pharaoh, faraway countries. this is all important and recover it. we must occasionally drill down to what's happening on the local and state level because this is where all the mischief is made of. not only with your tax dollars but it affects the safety, and the overall sense of community do we have to remember that she was given in $216,300,000?

-- >> is putting a lot of money in these local races. he's not concerned with what happens in loudoun county with whether mothers are murdered or children are, he doesn't care about that. that's exactly what he's trying to do. there's an election now in fairfax, in arlington and loudoun county where it used to be 20,000 or $30,000 he is to be what a candidate would have to spend. now, you are looking at millions of dollars. >> people don't understand, this isn't fairfax and loudoun county. this is going to come to a locality near you. the people of loudoun and the people of fairfax are going to make the right decisions but you all have to hit hard. there is no patty-cake with soros. you have to call it what it is.
