wanting to build a public case against the president. ainsley: we will be able to watch it all. it will be public. next wednesday. the impeachment process. the impeachment inquiry. brian: if you know the president if there is something obligor on. try to win this run off election for the republican candidate in louisiana. he also let everybody know what he thinks of the whole impeachment process and adam schiff. steve: so you mentioned adam schiff, here he is talking about the open hearings starting next wednesday. >> for those open hearings will be an opportunity for the american people to evaluate the witnesses for themselves, to make their own determinations about the credibility of the witnesses, and also to learn firsthand about the facts of the president's misconduct. ainsley: is he saying if you don't buy it now, if you don't think it was quid pro quo, you will be after you watch these hearings. i will persuade you. brian: george kent is going to be one of the people, william taylor first and

majority. and that's what we are. we are a majority and we're angry. that we will vote the do-nothing democrats out of office in 2020. ainsley: you know what was also just released. talk about anger, the attorney for the whistleblower, mike zaid, he has been angry about this president getting in office for years now. almost three years ago he started tweeting. he tweeted this out in january 30th, 2017. steve: that's a long time ago. ainsley: coup has started as one falls, two more will take their place, #rebellion, #impeachment. that's shortly after the president fired of the acting a.g. sally yates. brian: all the people who say witch-hunt gregg jarrett wrote the book on it. grasping at straws, the lawyer for the whistleblower in 2017 right after sally yates was fired talked about a wave of plots and plans to impeach the president.

steve: that was right after the inauguration of the president just a couple of weeks. then later that same year in 2017, on july 1st, the whistleblower's attorney tweeted out very sad we will get rid of him and this country industry strong enough to survive even him and his supporters. we have to. the campaign last night said hey the whistleblower's lawyer gave await game. this has been their plan from the start. that's also what the president said last night down in louisiana. >> it's all a hoax. it's a scam. and you know who helps them, these people back here the media. it just came out that's the whistleblower. the whistleblower the one that came out with trump said this and trump said that and then when they heard my real phone call, the whistleblower disappeared. shifty schiff, he is a corrupt politician. schiff didn't want to have the whistleblower anymore because nobody thought i was going to release the phone call. as soon as i released the

ainsley: this as house democrats announce the first set of public hearings. brian: i will guarantee you he will not show. here to discuss it fox news legal analyst and author of this book called witch-hunt called gregg jarrett. move forward, do witch-hunt on russia now we have got the ukraine. what did we learn yesterday that you think is significant? >> well, we learned that the attorney, mark zaid had set this all up. it was contrived. it was preordained. the attorney for the whistleblower is not a whistleblower under the law actually came upon a recommendation from adam schiff's committee. so that speaks volumes that this is a partisan witch-hunt. ainsley: kevin mccarthy said. this we should take zaid at his word, coordinated pre-mepremeditated spot to overturn the election. >> it clearly is. all of the witnesses who will be called have already testified secretly. they are all opinion witnesses offering their interpretations of the conversation they weren't

privy to. they are all diplomats and diplomats are notorious gossipers. so, for example, steve mentioned bill taylor is one of the first witnesses. taylor said oh, it was my understanding there was a quid pro quo. did you get that from the president? no. a guy told a guy who told a guy who told me. if that were in a court of law a judge would say to the jurors disregard the testimony, strike it from the record. it's irrelevant. steve: on this program a couple of weeks ago we featured. so early tweets of the whistleblower law firm where they were actually looking for people to blow the whistle. ainsley: asking for more whistleblowers. steve: they were. greg, given your legal hat, which you are not wearing in florida here today because it's so darn warm. from what we have seen so far in what has been leaked selectively to make it look as bad as possible for the president, is there anything there that would possibly be -- well, considering democrats can say high

crimes and misdemeanors or whatever we say, but is there anything there that we have seen so far that the public would say you're right, we have got to get rid of him. >> no, there is not. there is no high crime and misdemeanor. in fact, the department of justice criminal division looked at the conversation of the trump phone call with zelensky and said there is no crime here. so, we are left with this sort of morphos concept it's abuse of power because there was a quid pro quo. lawyers have a principle called the best evidence. and it's analogous here. the best evidence is the transcript of no condition, no pressure no, demand, no quid pro quo and that's corroborated by president zelensky. brian: i have no legal hat to put on, i will tell you one thing. the president was curious about what happened in ukraine. >> sure. brian: paul mart got himself in a lot of trouble because of things he didn't do in the campaign. ken vogel of the "new york times" he talked about the role of ukraine. for him being interested and

sending somebody he trusts to find about ukraine's role in the 2016 elections. >> that's right. brian: if all those things are true, is the president in trouble? >> no. the president is entitled if he has reason to believe that there is evidence of corruption in the hands of a foreign government, he has every right and, in fact, i would argue a duty to say please look into it if you have evidence, turn it over to us. so, you know, i write extensively my book "witch-hunt" about how ukraine medalled in the 2016 election to benefit hillary clinton. and hurt trump. steve: they should get their money back. >> the president is entitled to say obama did, stop the meddling. let's have the evidence. why is the standard different for this president. it shouldn't be. ainsley: that's not the democrats' argument. their argument is quid pro quo. i'm not giving you the money if you don't do. this. brian: candidate for 2020 not about vice president. >> all these people

"fox nation"'s inaugural patriot awards here in st. pete honoring an american hero with the most valuable patriot award. rob jones lost both legs in afghanistan. that did not stop him from becoming a star triathlete. now launching a run for congress. ainsley: rob. you're so cool under pressure. i came out talked about what you went through as a person. what did it feel to be on the stage? >> it is sincere honor. a lot of people you all could have picked for this. i could think of a thousand names.

it's a great honor you picked me. it is sobering that i have to responsibility to make sure i represent what that means. ainsley: why do you want to be a congressman? >> what's that? ainsley: why did you want to run for congress? >> when i was growing up. i had a lot of optimism in the future and everybody had that in my district. i learned how to hone the optimism and use that during my marine corps career. what you have done, you gave me the award. i want to return that to people using experiences in my district. steve: i don't know if you have a tv in your house, when you watch what is going on in congress, i don't know that i would want to get involved in that. why do you want to? >> the percent step returning optimism for the american dream of people, they have somebody in congress that they trust. they believe in and can go to bed at night they can know that person is looking out for their interests instead of their career. brian: you know, virginia for republicans, they took a

pounding. they have lost both branches of the statehouse. steve: it has been a blue state for a while. brian: this is the first time in the state legislature in a long time is all democrat. you want to change that? >> i want to change the representative of a virginia town. i'm not running for statehouse or anything. i want to give people somebody they can trust and believe in and i want to take us in a direction that will help restore optimism for their lives, cure all the things that ail us now. steve: you ran 31 marathons in 31 days, in 31 different cities. what is next? >> yeah you know, in terms of that i will do my best to continue to be a positive role model for other veterans and continue to add on the story i can create people can use to their advantage. when they're strug lending to do something, look what i've done, if he can do that, i can do whatever i'm trying to do. ainsley: you're still running. you're running for congress. >> i ran the marine corps 50-k a

as well. remember when you see a lot of policies like travel ban, all of that, a lot of lower court got involved. what we've seen from the liberals, activists judges don't believe in the constitution really. they believe it's a living, breathing document, that it needs to be changed. when you talk about conservatives they may not like the president's personality, they will vote for him because of the courts. ainsley: a lot of evangelicals voted for him in the election because of this reason. a lot are pro-life. >> a lot believe this is the first shot to undo roe vs. wade. a lot of issues affect the country. ainsley: religious liberty. >> religious liberty going on. when you have liberals made it very clear, why do you think they went after kavanaugh so hard during the past hearings? because they realize that the court is changing and they really want -- there is a chance that president trump may get another seat as well. they're scared about that. steve: let's look at impact so far.

trump judicial nominees confirmed by congress. two on the supreme court. 44 u.s. courts of appeal. 112 district courts and specialty courts for a total of 158. we get the impact at the supreme court but why is it so important at the district and specialty court level? >> because a lot of these decisions, the supreme court won't hear all these cases. brian: they have to figure it out down there. >> on lower courts they get a lot of those decisions. i was at the rally the other day with president trump. he said why did president obama leave me so many seats? because the republicans controlled the senate at that time. they wanted the next senate who happened to be republican to decide those seats. now the president has put more judges into office than any other. ainsley: you mentioned 158 judges. obama at this point in his presidency, 115. >> right. now, there is potential the president getting a second term. he plans on even, i think the number came out that the president has installed 1/3 of

all judges on the bench. that is a big margin. brian: you do as much on the street as anyone in different cities. how much do they care about impeachment? >> you know i've been talking to a lot of people. they feel like it's a big distraction. i was in kentucky at the trump rally, tuesday, i'm sorry monday, they believe a lot of democrat are trying to undo what they did at the ballot box. i think democrats are overplaying their hand. even democrat primary voters are not for impeachment. they ban to talk about issues. they want to talk about health care. since they promised to do that in the last election when they took over the house i think they will pay at the ballot box. steve: we heard a lot from people who were at the "fox nation" patriot awards last night. i'm sure you did. >> good people. steve: we talked about the news of the day. also the fact this was an award saluting either heroes at the community level or first-responders or military,
