going on, just south of our border, a lot of that has been going on for a long time as you know, unfortunately sometimes it takes a tragedy in order to open people's eyes, what do you see happening going forward now that the unthinkable awful tragedy has happened in méxico, do you think this is going to change the conversation going forward or do you think it's still going to be a battle with securing the border? >> i hope it does, i hope this family gets justice, that's one of the priorities that both governments should have but people need to realize that border is a dangerous place, i spent 33 years in my career on the border and the traffic flows but also danger about criminal cartels trying to bring drugs in the united states, the human trafficking, we need to secure the border, we need to provide the resources and the authorities for the border patrol agents and ice officers that are out there doing tremendous job, but they need help, they need congress to engage. rob: ron, what did you think of president obrador's response to killings in sonora state, the

killings of his americans, response was essentially, violence towards them is not the answer. jillian: hugs, not bullets. rob: what did you make of that response? >> it's good news, bad news, he's helping on the mexican southern border, they are doing things on the northern border to help with the flow, hug wills not make this work, they have to take it to these cartels, they are to give the citizens in méxico what we all -- what they deserve, safety and security. jillian: ron, let's talk about something going on in maryland right now because ice is slamming maryland officials for releasing an undocumented immigrant that was accused of child molestation and you know the argument about ice continues a lot of democrats want to abolish the agency altogether, you know, are we getting a preview here of what the country would look like if that happened? >> this shouldn't be, montgomery county, since the summer has had 10 people arrested for sex crimes that happened to be in

the country illegally as well and that was just after the county executive announced the sanctuary city policy or sanctuary jurisdiction policy, this is lawlessness, protecting criminals who come to the country illegally is bad for that community, those officials and those politicians took an oath to protect this country, to protect their citizens and allowing criminals to go free after they know that they're in the country illegally when ice files detainer to take them into country, it's lawlessness that should stop and the people in montgomery county should protest against policies that endanger the community that they are supposed to be protecting. >> ron, thank you so much for your time. jillian: thank you. >> thank you. rob: 18 minutes after the hour, the medal of honor presented to some of our nation's bravest heros and the country came together to recognize their service at a very special event. >> the medal of honor to me represents the very best of who we are in the country, you see

changed their lives, what a great assignment. carley: medal of honor is the nation's highest and rarest military award, it's not every day you get to meet one recipient but recent convention in tampa, florida brought 46 together, each hero put their life on the line during different set of unthinkable circumstances, all of them say the same thing, they were just doing their jobs. >> i am so proud to be be able to say that i salute you for your bravery, you have made america more strong and more free, god bless you, guys. [applause] >> medal of honor to me represents the very best of who we are as a country, my name is on it but it doesn't belong to me. to anyone that's ever served, there's a piece of them on this medal. >> when i read your story i was blown away, what your body went through, how anyone could survive that, tell us what happened that day? >> we were surrounded by 10,000 of the enemy, within the first

hour i was wounded from exploding rocket, i found out after i landed and tried to get up that i couldn't walk, i remember saying if i'm going to die, i'm not going to die in the bunker. >> in the name of congress the medal of honor staff sergeant david g.belavilla. >> president trump allowed me to take troops on the stage and that was the most incredible thing to be able to share that, special thing to do together. >> he left into the bullets and fired back at the end my without even thinking, the insurgence, he just took over, david took over. >> you say that it was a team effort but the president is really putting this on your heroism. >> well, you know, god bless the president and that's very kind, it's a great metaphor for life, you know, we are unified, we are together, it's never a personal relationship with the medal of honor until you have it and when you receive it you're just

constantly around guys that you read about, respect and it's like meeting avengers. carley: what led to you receiving that award in 1945? >> i received the medal of honor as a result of action on the island. we were a reserve just in case they would need us, never thinking that they would but because of the number of casualties that we had the first day and that evening, they announced that we were going in. i would have never done what i have done in these 74 years if i had not been for the medal of honor. carley: wow, talking to all of them is an experience that i will never forget and my maintaining away is that they are so humble. i asked each of them how they feel about being described as a

hero and all of them said the same thing, not me, the real heros are the ones that lost their lives in battle, so incredible display of patriotism and -- >> you ask every veteran and they always say the same thing, it's not about me but it's about them. rob: some of the stories are unbelievable. carley: absolutely. thanks, guys, appreciate it. jillian: it is 26 minutes after the hour, adam schiff trying to shut down the republicans' witness wish list as impeachment inquiry goes public this week, but can the president get a fair trial? that debate is coming up next. >> instead of that saying that to me they should have been saying to the president, not asking me to join them on their side bar plan. rob: this is the real story nikki haley accusing top aides of plotting behind the president's back who she said approached her with a plan to, quote, save the country

will be allowed to testify? >> i think some of them will be allowed to testify specifically some of the ones that adam schiff and the committee have interviewed that have been part of the administration, but look, adam schiff has a very strategic goal in mind for this, and that is to control the conversation to keep the focus on president trump and keep a very negative spotlight on what's going on, so the fact that he's able to deny the republicans' request for certain witnesses and to bring up that testimony, he's going to couch that as, oh, without, not within the scope of the inquiry but what he's trying to do control the narrative around this to make sure there's publicity on president trump as possible. rob: kevin, let's listen to lindsey graham from yesterday. >> i consider any impeachment of the house that doesn't allow us to know who the whistleblower is to be invalid because without the whistleblower complaint we wouldn't be talking about any of this.

rob: your response to that, kevin. >> to me it would be like unmasking deep throat in 1974 when at this point it really is irrelevant who the whistleblower is because the story that the whistleblower has put forward has been corroborated by multiple officials now, so at this point it's pretty clear that there seemed to be a quid pro quo there and i think what you're going to see a lot of the gop members of the house during the inquiry, they are going to basically try to distract and create chaos and make it like it's a partisan show, but i don't think the whistleblower identity is that important at this point because of the testimony that we've gotten from -- rob: absolutely. adam schiff sent this to representative devin nunes, lauren, i want to respond, will not hold as vehicles for members to carry out the shame sham investigations into the binds or redunk conspiracies about 2016 u.s. election interference that

president trump pressed ukraine to conduct as personal benefit. do you think it's a bit partisan that adam schiff is not curious about that at all? >> yeah, i think that the biden, the whole controversy deserves a good spotlight especially since we are considering vice president biden to be possibly president, right, he's actively campaigning, so i think that there does need to be a good look at that and call it debunked is a little premature. rob: kevin, what's your perspective on that, joe biden could be the next president of the united states, his son had this big job with no experience, how do you just turn away and not look at that? >> well, it should be looked at and it will be looked at i believe as part of this entire process, you know, this investigation -- rob: do you think they will let hunter biden come on and talk, i don't think they are going to.

>> i don't think so. i think adam schiff said that hunter biden, he wasn't interested in hearing him talk and even nelly ohr with fusion gps which i believe is out of the scope which goes back to steele dossier. back to 2016, no, i don't think hunter biden will testify but, look, it is fair game, i think that the investigation was at the point the prosecutor was fired, it was already dormant but it is fair game and i don't think there's much there, though. rob: we shall see about that. all right, kevin, lauren, thank you so much for your time, appreciate it. >> all right, thank you. jillian: fight against isis in syria, more than 500 troops will remain on the ground keeping pressure on the terror group. >> the footprint will be small but the objective will remain the same. jillian: president trump recently approved expanded military mission to secure oil fields in eastern syria after originally ordering a complete

>> well, i think the most important thing that we want to see veterans succeed in business with everything when they do their post military transition, so entrepreneurships is part of veterans day is an important thing. >> you're a veteran yourself, thank you for your service, what is it about the values of veterans that make this possible? >> ic a lot of the things that people learn in the military translate very well to business success afterwards and that's why veterans start businesses and run businesses. >> misty, you are not a veteran but you are so involved in this business fair and you do a lot on your own as well, what inspired you? >> you know, i've been working with veterans for over 10 years, veterans are a short bet when it comes to ownership. i think the biggest thing is they continue their service through their business so that they hire people, they create economic change within our communities and that's what i love serving the veterans as well. >> what company are you guys most excited to interact today?

>> actually most of the companies are military family grads, veteran women guiding spirit of entrepreneurship and a few of the other programs, look, i'm excited of eating a hot dog, playing roller is always good, as a person that owns 200 pairs of shoes -- >> you own 200 pairs of shoes? [laughter] >> she was one of our women veteran businesses of the year, a few years back and so one of the things that we like to do is highlight the veterans come from every walk of life, last nearly 45 years, they volunteered to serve and they come from everywhere, it's nice to see them, we also want to make sure that we have a certified logo in product packaging and they can identify those as veteran-owned company and providing us product and hopefully we can have that happen. >> incredible thing you guys are doing and very much looking forward to being on fox square
