bellkin. let's begin first with the doj and their legal brief to the supreme court. here's what they said amongst other things. dhs correctly and responsible econ cloudey concluded that da. >> it is within the dhs' purview to render a decision like that and the doj can say they take the position that that position is a lawful one. cases were brought in three federal district courts in new york, san francisco and washington, d.c. and they deemed that this action by the administration was arbitrary and capricious and the supreme court will have to have the final say. heather: here's what mexico is urging, they're urging the supreme court to stop president trump's daca decision, saying amongst other things mexican nationals relied upon the commitments made by the u.s. government in relation to daca. daca recipients would be subject to increased vulnerability as a

result of the termination. >> the nation of mee mexico ist a party here. they are letting the court know their position and they are potentially an interested party in any decision the court makes. the fact of the matter is, mexico has another interest that they may not have included so prevalently in the brief, is that a lot of money is flowing from the united states to mexican nationals, back into the economy of mexico. so they're kind of dependent on our immigration system. heather: that's a good point. they say everything always goes back to money. it's not supposed to be the case for the supreme court. what do you think they will do? >> i think the problem is, the trump administration faces a problem. there was a ruling in the census case that liberals will try to expand upon where justice john roberts said look, there has to be reasoned decision making. they say that is an expanded of burden of proof. normally they look at the government action, is it arbitrary and capricious.

over robert levinson, who has been missing in iran for 12 years, it would be a very positive step, at the same time upon information and belief, iran is and has beene been enrig uranium, that would be a bad step. president trump's involvement, mentioning your dad, what does that mean for you? >> it's very big for us. we're very encouraged. it shows the trump administration is determined to get my father home, the president tweeting about it, the world is watching his tweets. we know it's a big deal. we've been working with the trump administration officials for years now, the new national security advisor, robert o'brien has been wonderful. he was the previous special envoy for hostage affairs and we worked closely with him for a year and-a-half and now he's at the right hand of president trump. secretary pompeo has cared about my dad's case for years. we're very encouraged and we believe that the trump administration is doing everything they can to get my dad home. heather: offering a $20 million

reward for information on his whereabouts. that's on top of the already existing $5 million from the fbi. let's just run for people at home kind of a reminder how president trump has been working to free american hostages. over two dozen so far just in his administration. you mentioned that you've been working with him, you've heard from him. what about iran? did this come as news to you or were you surprised to hear about this development? >> we were surprised. because we have been working with the u.n. working group. i met with officials in geneva last year and they told us not to expect any kind of response, that iran hadn't been responding. this response from them came out of the blue. it was just talking about the ongoing case which was unprompted and we think it's very significant development and we're going to continue to press them and we're hoping this opens doors for more communications and so we can get this resolved and get my dad home we ar. heather: we are praying for you
