mayor and policies changed and crime began a steep decline. michael bloomberg became mayor of new york of the next year and made new york even safer. one man tool was stop and frisk. the nypd would stop suspicious looking people and asked them question and searched them for weapons and illegal drugs. not everyone liked it ever, but there is no debate about how well it worked. it worked well. by 2013 new york city reported just 333 murders total for the year. it was america's safest city. michael bloomberg was proud of that and proud of stop and frisk. >> today we have fewer guns, fewer shootings and fewer homicides. in fact murders are 50% below

the level they were 12 years ago when we came into office. something no one thought possible back then. there is no question that stop and frisk saved countless lives. we know most of those lives saved based on the statistics have been black and hispanic young men. >> tucker: not just most but the majority have been in that category. that was 2013. not that long ago. you may remember 2013. but today michael bloomberg is trying to win the democratic nomination. you think a party that claims to carry about poor people would reward anyone who makes low income neighborhoods saver, but no they hate him for it. >> this is a policy that put black and latino men in prison. -- safer. >> this is a mayor that provided over an administration that did

stop and frisk on every black and hispanic person. >> he ran new york city like oligarch. >> stop and frisk will be the problem for michael bloomberg. >> he still depends his policy of stop and frisk which impacted families like mine. my cousins and friends were stopped on the new york city subway system and racially profiled and patted down. >> tucker: oh, yeah. it affected alexandria ocasio-cortez's family. she grew up in westchester county new york, a town that is more than 90% white but she says it's racist. and michael bloomberg agrees with her. last spring he blasted joe biden for an apology tour where he begged forgiveness for every good idea he supported. now it's bloomberg's turn to do

the same. >> i got something important really wrong. i didn't understand back then the full impact that stops were having on the black and latino communities. i was totally focussed on saving lives but good intentions are not good enough. back then i was wrong. i am sorry. >> tucker: i was focussed on saving lives. that's what the democratic party is making him save. the remarkable piece is that this same michael bloomberg who just apologized for stop and frisk is the single most aggressive and free spending lobbyist for gun control in america. he would disarm suburbia tomorrow. now he is telling you it was

immoral for him to the nypd to take thousands of illegal firearms off the street of new york. this is confusing. what is the reasoning? there isn't any. policies like these and they are popular now from allowing drug addicts to shoot up on the subway, these policies only make sense when you understand the bigotry of the left. they despies normal people. law-abiding americans enrage them. their sympathies are with the destroys. bernie kerik was a police commissioner for new york city. did you ever think having presided over the greatest drop in american history there would come a point where politicians would apologize for being part of that drop?

>> well, it is the apology tour. when you run for president, that's what you do. i think it's disturbing. especially for me. i was not only the police commissioner of new york city. when i started out as a cop in times square, i was in uniform and went to plain clothes. i was in an anti-crime unit and your basic job, you for plain clothes, you run around the city looking for guns, shots fired, burglaries, any violent crime in progress, that's your job. and without stop and frisk, we would never be able to do that job. i think bloomberg and others like him that now denounce the policy, they forget how is started under rudy giuliani and the crime reductions. a 65% reduction in violent crime between 1994 and 2002. a 70% reduction in homicide

under rudy giuliani. this is a time when mothers were putting their babies in bath tubbs scared of random gunfire. -- i think people forget how effective the policy was. people don't realize that bloomberg's apology may be because he over-used the program. he had 6 times the amount of stop and frisks that we did under the giuliani administration. that may be part of the problem. maybe it's his heart felt apology is from abusing the program. >> tucker: that would not surprise me. what does surprise me is the fact that michael bloomberg is the most aggressive gun control promoter in the united states and supports all kinds of measures to keep people from defending themselves. >> i believe this guy would take

every gun. >> tucker: so, new york city, the largest city in the country, had the one gun control program ever that worked in america. and he is apologizing for it but still for grabbing guns from everybody else. how does this work? >> it doesn't work. the policy was effective. it was the most effective tool in the new york city police department. and one more thing i want to focus on, it's not just stop and frisk. it's stop, question, and frisk. it gives you the ability to stop, talk to somebody and have a conversation with them. you don't frisk everybody you stop. when a cop suspects somebody of being involved in a dangerous crime or a violent crime or possession of a weapon, they have to have the ability to check that person out. if they didn't, we would have

thousands of more young black and brown kids in new york city dead. >> tucker: this would not affect alexandria ocasio-cortez but for the people who live in tough neighborhood that would have an effect. commissioner, thanks for joining us. well, the left's offensive against law and order is not just against past laws. pressly has a green new deal for crime. it include ban all life sentences and ban the prosecution of miners as adults. legalize prostitution. -- minors. remove police from public school. and reparations based on skin color. this is a former supreme court

clerk. thanks for coming on. this is a big proposal. some of is it crazy and a lot is crazy. let's take a couple of issues. one is decrimalizing prostitution. how can we be against human trafficking and yet decr decrimminalize prostitutes. are women prostitutes because they want to be? >> you don't have to believe that. some people think that. -- that's a side issue. what you can ask. is the best way to do something about human trafficking crimminalize the people who are being trafficed. we don't want to make your life worse.

we want to go after epstein and trump and the clintons and everybody else. >> tucker: or the pimps. here's the bottom line principle. when you criminalize something, you get less of it. the truth is cirrhosis deaths went down under prohibition. when you legalize camping on the sidewalk you get more of it and affects everyone else. what about their rights? >> i am not sure you get a lot more. putting somebody in a prison, a dungeon, that's a big intervention. say you have somebody for sleeping on the street or urinating in public. if you put those people in jail you might get a little less. is that really the way you want to solve it? >> tucker: i don't know. it depends. let's say i live -- if people

are camped out on my sidewalk and defecating at my front door and i have little kids. having the ability to say you can't do it here. i worked hard for this house. you are freaking my kids out. a normal society recognizes the right of a person to say those things. the person who tries to tear do you know what the rest of us have built they are on their side. >> i don't know about that. i don't think going to the bathroom is deviant. i agree with one thing you said. we can't have a society that we treat as normal that people have to go to the bathroom on the sidewalk. i don't think the right answer is putting you in jail to go to the bathroom there. that's a solution. it's not a good one. >> tucker: what i am arguing is when you decriminalize theft as they have in california, what you are saying is the chaos that

>> tucker: a lot of learning going on at jeffrey epstein's house. the photograph shows the prince around the arms of an epstein accuser. he said it was faked. >> nobody can prove if that photograph has been doctored. i don't recollect that being taken. >> you don't recollect having your hand around her waist? >> no. >> tucker: well, one of the reasons that prince andrew avoided answering the basic questions is because of the behavior of the news media including abc news in this country. they suppressed reporting the epstein scandal under pressure from the royal family. kevin mccarthy sent a letter to abc news demanding answers. this is a senior correspondent.

thanks for coming on. what does this letter from the house minority leader say? >> he is demanding answers from abc. he said why did you not air this interview. amy robach was caught on a hot mic. she said he had an accuser of jeffrey epstein and it was ready for air. abc said it was want ready for air. he is asking why was this hid n hidden? will you send this interview to congress so we can see it? there are many, many questions and he says that over the years, since this interview was conducted, that if the interview did air, it could have prevented more underage women from being sexual trafficked. >> tucker: this is a major development. >> it is. >> tucker: has abc responded? >> they have not.

abc are declining comment. at the time when amy's video leaked. abc said it was not ready for air and they said we have not shied away from covering the jeffrey epstein saga. they did cover the prince andrew interview. they are not shying away now which was a step to say look, we are covering it. >> tucker: do they suggest there is any conflict that an anchor stayed at jeffrey epstein's house. have they addressed that on the air? >> they have not. this morning amy robach was not the one to present the story. that could have been awkward. i want to get back to prince andrew's interview. you went through some of the most bizarre moments. it was one after the other. perplexing how this interview

occurred in buckingham palace which signals that the queen approved this interview. he went through no coaching and didn't mention any victim. he said he has a medical condition where he can't sweat. the victim mentioned that at one point she was dancing with him in london and he was sweating. he is coming up with bizarre excuses. other thing you brought up. he said he doesn't know this woman. there is the infamous photo. he said it's photo shopped. it's bizarre what he's been saying. >> tucker: can't sweat is a medical condition. it's on our facebook page. there is an investigation into how jeffrey epstein died while in custody in prison.

federal charges are imminent against the guards who were supposed to be guarding him. they declined a plea deal offer. ed gavin a former nypd officer. even the mayor of new york, bill de blasio weighed in. what does this mean the guards declined a plea deal? >> if they are facing charges it's for failing to perform their duties. they are required to make tours at frequent interval, i believe every half-hour. it could be a fishing expedition on the part of the feds. if they had enough evidence to make arrests, they would have collared these officers already. if the cameras were not working, that's to their advantage. they can say we made our tours every half-hour.

unless they interview inmates and they say the officers were sleeping or making their required tours. >> tucker: you have a high-profile prisoner whose life has been threatened before the purported suicide. he said he feared for his life. how strange in your view that there were no cameras on the hallway outside? >> it's outrageous. you have a special housing area. he is the most high-profile detainee in their history. the feds messed this up from the on set. this individual was placed in a cell with a former police officers who was charged with a quadruple murder. he was taken out of protective custody and received a beating to the point where they had to

put a metal plate in him. why put jeffrey epstein in a cell with this guy. a sex offender. and you put him in a cell with this guy? that didn't make sense. to take him off suicide watch. that doesn't make any sense. what should have happened he should have been taken to a hospital like bellview to be evaluated by a psychiatrist. that doesn't happen. they put him in a cell by himself. they put him on a floor with a correction officer who is not even cert tied. -- certified and michael does his own independent autopsy and he's done over 20,000 autopsy and he determines that the injuries jeffrey epstein sustained are not consistent with suicide by hanging but

suicide by strangulation. maybe the officers were sleeping. maybe unknown inmates or officers went into jeffrey epstein's cell, strangled him and made it seem like it was a hanging. what else could have gone wrong there? >> tucker: under normal circumstances, i would say that's crazy. under these circumstances i won't say that. it's clearly not crazy. thanks for coming on tonight. roger stone was convicted on 7 felonies stemming from the russian collusion investigation. stone's main crime was lying to congress about who he had or had not spoken to about russia. by the time stone's trial began in washington the largest scandal had long been bedunked. nobody was talking about wiki leak anywhere.

-- prosecutors argued that roger stone should spend up to 50 years in prison, the rest of his life. at the moment prosecutors made that case that stone's misstatements ought to be a death penalty offense adam schiff was lying to us. he was not worried. in washington dishonesty is a one way offense and roger stone was convicted and washington screamed rot in hell on twitter. the response to stone's case from the federal prosecutors and television, is how much more outraged it was that anything that greeted jeffrey epstein. do you think george stephanopoulos would have dinner at roger stone's house?

no. that would be immoral. remember what happened when roger stone was arrested. dozens of agents with automatic weapo weapons and helicopters descended on their home and rousted he and his wife from bed at rifle point. they tipped off cnn which was there to capture the whole thing live. that's how our government treated a man facing perjury charges. jeffrey epstein was abused of molesting at least 34 under-age girls. how was he arrested? that's a trick question. he wasn't arrested. according to the "new york times" account, prosecutors called jeffrey epstein's lawyer and asked him to turn himself in which epstein did. nobody tipped off cnn. just the opposite happened. authorities tried to keep the whole thing secret to preserve

jeffrey epstein's dignity. one prosecutor wrote to epstein's attorney to avoid the press she could file the case in miami which would cut the press coverage. that's thoughtful treatment for a child molester. epstein got a plea deal where all federal charges were dropped. this was kept secret from epstein's victims. he received just 18 months. but instead of being sent to state prison like sex offenders in florida he served in a private wingof the palm beach stockade. after just 3.5 months in custody epstein was freed on work release and could leave the grounds for 12 hours a day 6

days a week. apparently the authorities liked him. the authorities don't like roger stone. he did something worse than molesting children. he helped get donald trump elected president. for that roger stone is likely to die in prison. mayor pete buttigieg from a small city in the midwest have a ton of success with affluent donors on walters. african-americans don't like him. the hilarious result after the break.

mayor pete in south carolina is because of black homophobia. i am not a democrat voter so i don't have a dog in this fight. but aligning the identity points is tricky. they are not interested in elizabeth warren because every other country had a female president. but they would like the first gay president gets white liberal juices going. unfortunately if he won iowa and new hampshire, he would depress black turnout in the way that hillary clinton did in 2016 and cost democrats the election. >> tucker: i continue to believe the controversial thing about pete buttigieg is he was a mckinsey consultant. that's more offensive than anything else he's done. >> i like the fact -- only other

bombing. but a month after the boston bombings, his friend who was also killed by law enforcement gave specific details about the triple homicide saying they slit the throats of three young men and they spent an hour trying to clean up the screen. experts point out there were links between these murders and they blamed them on gang activity. in 2011 russia warned the fbi that he appeared to be radicalizing and the former fbi director robert mueller said he came to the attention of the fbi on two occasions but no action was taken. the new information about the triple murder begs the question again. could the boston bombings have been prevented?
