>> right. for our next recipient, it has never been about the awards or recognition. >> about the fight and encouraging fellow veterans to never give up. his story is right here. >> i am sergeant rob jones. in 2010, i was in process of clearing a danger area of ieds. and an ied found me first, that resulted in in double above-heke amputations. i realized quickly that just because i was missing my legs above the knee, that did not mean that my life's mission had changed.

i still wanted my life to be something i could be brought of and my life to be something that made a difference in the world. i was able to go paralympics in 2012, and win a bronze medal in rowing and ride my bike from maine to san diego, and in 2017, i ran 31 marathons inathon daysn 31 different cities, to show no matter your sveterans can stay in the fight. the support i got from my loved ones was kind of an unspoken thing, when i first got injured, they were there to support me, with their support i was able to stay positive and not give up, i set a precedent for myself. of being positive and diskeeping on mission. stay go ago.

>> a lot of people ask me that but as far as i'm concerned, if you do something like, that take it to the maximum, i didn't want anyone to say, you know afterwards you did a marathon but you could have done 31. >> most of us can't do one. you were in pain? >> yeah, for most of it it hurt a lot. this is the last one. but it starts with a good time, i have teams of people helping me throughout you know my entire life, all the way from marine corps, my brothers, then after i was wounded, medical staff, family, and friends and coaches, and people like that my wife, and my mom were there on the marathon month. i had a good team, a lot of preparation. took 18 months of training to get ready, i had a great purpose, and creating a story about veterans that we could all use. >> you have a great story,
