stories, which were true, they would say wow, wow. i wanted what they had. it was a lot of inner pain. then, i got into cocaine, i was 20 years functioning cocaine addict and 10 years crack cocaine, there is a long -- >> you are lucky to be alive. >> 40 years of addiction. mark: how did you get out of it? a lot of things had to happen a in 2008 there was about 3 things that happened.

seeds were planted for me. drug dealers did an intervention, that was a big thing. >> why would drug dealers do an intervention? > i had a warrant out for my arrest, i was going to be found innocent, i was hiding out down there i come out of the room, three, of the biggest dealers. they said, what are doing, mike has been out for 14 days, we're shutting him off. and the one guy goes, what is the matter with you. >> you even said that's enough.

they must have liked you? so here is what he said i was a good customer. one guy left blatch and now i ld over and then he finally went ld to sleep. so i came back upstairs and he standing there waiting up for me and that you will write and you are telling us for years the platform is for god so that's just a platform.

mark: is that the event that started to turn your life around like. >> but then six months later my one son and said dad i cannot stay here anymore. mark: he must have known you were addicted. >> from 16 down they don't remember she said we are a very dysfunctional family i said i don't know what that means but don't say that again. so that december of 2008 something happened both doing

cocaine in the 1980s we were both functioning at extra the eighties and nineties we switch to crack at about the same time and then and then i said what are you doing here? he said the law led me here i knew he was straight for three years. as long as you are here i said i have some questions for you. is a boring and he said no. meeting being clean. and to go into an hour of questions and they had been what i have been.

and then one month later january 2016 they say was that your bottom? moneywise i made sure i didn't have any money left that would be an incredible story to help people i would know them as they were happening. that was weird thinking that so with the addiction. mark: but did he turn you on? >> no.

>> and then to give you the jumpstart to do something about it? >> going back to the days i owned a bar for 13 years after the bar would close he would go back afterwords and sit and do cocaine. i would say these drugs are bad but revelation in the bible and then i would wake up. i didn't really know what i was trying to convince myself that i could function and talk to people. mark: so when did he catch you? >> for this? 2017 when i did a full surrende surrender. and what happened there i

couldn't speak up for jesus like i could until i went to the stadium in minneapolis a couple months after that born-again experience and 50000 millennial's telling my story about five minutes worth and i'm scared. i was petrified but i was able to do it. two weeks later i met an amusement park all of these millennial's and teenagers came up and said i heard you. you change my life. that i am born again. your story is hopeful finally my granddaughter had to say he is my grandpa and we need to go some rides. [laughter] mark: what is that like by the way?

you are on tv and on radio what is that like? does not have an effect does that have an effect on your ego or the ability to stay straight quick. >> i drive a pickup truck so i've always wanted to help people so those millennial's because such a feeling about worthiness it makes me feel good and if i have to be somewhere i will stop and talk to every person. [laughter] mark: you are very outgoing. >> i will talk to one but i love it because i love helping people and hearing the stories. and it is beyond that.

and i spoke to days before the election in minnesota and i ended my speech i was so scared to get up there and i pointed to the media and said he would be the greatest president in history but what's funny is they don't know what to say one-on-one. i was just out in california in aggressive areas and said you are aligning yourself with this president? what do you mean? high stock market, low gas, now i see my friends employed it's just amazing to me.

form or another but you have been through all of these challenges and an entrepreneur and now you are very successful. a lot of people are wondering how you did that. how did you do it quick. >> i have always been an entrepreneur out of necessity my sister had an apartment complex i became a carpet cleaner. each manifested a solution. but i will say having the passion and faith when i would tell any entrepreneurs out there i didn't have a safety net right now with all of these jobs and wages rising i have 1600 employees but a lot of them are taking the chances

but then they can go back to do their job. it is an amazing time. everybody, don't be afraid there are so many good ideas left on the shelf that i have a great idea but out of fear, it blocks all of that. all the things that happened to me with those deviations and in my company i have 16 employees and of those that have my direct number i only get a call if there is a deviation. if there's peace i can put that out of my head that is amazing. if you watch those deviations and that includes failure and i have a friend of mine who

has been working for four years and he wanted to be perfect if you have that great idea and you don't do it that's a shame. get out there and failed. what's the worst that can happen? i had a bar for 13 years it was devastating when i had to sell it through a series of events but i look back now that if that did not happen we wouldn't be sitting here. look back at failures of the time 99.99 percent people worry about never comes to fruition. mark: so stop worrying. >> if you look back at your own life one in a million or

one in a billion this never happens. so most people say they are entrepreneurs, if something did not happen here you would not be here. i took in tens of millions are $100 million and at the end i owe 5 million. everything was done wrong but i learned from that. then i learned so much. another thing to mention , learn from someone that you trust in the business. so what have you done? so don't waste all this time on learning what they have done. mark:'s or anything you would
