"fox and friends first" continues right now. ♪ rob: you are watching "fox and friends first" on friday morning. jillian: thank you for starting the day with us and we have a busy day. a dead body and the baby found alive in a search connected to a missing mother. heidi broussard and her newborn daughter margo. rob: the breaking development on this investigation.

>> reporter: we are waiting for the medical examiner to identify the body but a one-month-old baby girl also appears to have been unharmed and in safe hands in a hospital. both were found at a house in houston overnight. this is video from that scene. police, texas rangers and the fbi swarming of the house around midnight. police confirming that this crime scene is connected to the search for heidi broussard and her 3 week old daughter margo and they are looking at a car parked in the back of this house which suggests the car is registered to someone heidi knows. the 33-year-old mother and her baby girl went missing december 12th and last seen in austin about two hours from this houston crime scene. heidi dropped her son off at 2:00 in the morning, both mom and daughter returned home and then they vanished. heidi's fiancé called police and reported them missing.

jillian: the director of social justice for bernie sanders's campaign, thanks for being here. you heard griff reference amy klobuchar saying she had a great night. a lot of people echoed that sentiment. she is your winner. >> i thought she did a good job. overall i was disappointed in the debate over all but she did a good job of having talk time as the front runner. the solution swung on mayor pete, did a great job landing a net punch but breaking news announcement to vice president joe biden, those who were dragged to this country in chains to be slaves are not immigrants. he made a major fumble. i don't know why they say he did a great job, i disagree. he had a major gaffe and, reparations, talked about immigrants. that was not the question. he did not answer it and moderators let him get away with it.

rob: amy klobuchar had the best night, here she's going after the guy with the target on his back, pete buttigieg. >> you basically mocked the 100 years of experience on the stage. what do i see on the stage? i see the vice president's worth, senator sanders's worth and what i have done. you can dismiss committee hearings. i think this experience works and i have not denigrated your experience as a local official. rob: he likes to think of himself as an outsider. what did you make of her response? >> i thought she was strong. the democratic candidates we saw tonight were not the same ones who were pandering for my vote three or four months ago. i have ideas about who was dismissed and the american people were dismissed on a number of things tonight but she did a good job. if i was forced to pick a candidate that did a good job i would say she did.

function properly if third parties are free to disrupt proceedings and intimidate parties by staging arrests for unrelated civil violations in the courthouse. the state of new york filed the suit claiming people are not showing up for court in fear of being arrested by immigrations and customs enforcement. jillian: congress cracking down on harmful and annoying robo calls. >> shares deputy will come here and arrest me? >> absolutely. >> for what? jillian: a north carolina police officer, a would be scammer. rob: these people are so annoying. the house and senate passing a bill that would fine robo callers and scammers $10,000 per call. phone companies are required to try blocking the call with no charge to customers. the president expected to sign that bill into law. some things are bipartisan, hatred for robo calls is one.

rob: is that why we see hesitation from nancy pelosi? does it go together? the obsession over donald trump, is that a loser to be focused on the president when there is so much else to focus on? >> it shows they have no policy priorities, just to have a hatred of donald trump is not a winning strategy. we are seeing great momentum going into 2020 for donald trump and nancy pelosi's strategy, first it was we have to get this impeachment in so soon because this is a nexus essential threat to democracy and now she is saying i want to hold this back and not put the articles forward to the senate and wait until -- that is a complete self owned that anyone sees through. rob: it could be an excuse to not do it altogether. that is what some people are saying. >> the american people see through it. jillian: andrew yang, i'm curious what you think of the fact that he did stray from the

pack last night. do you think more moderate or independents take notice of this? they will be more interested in him? is this plan? >> he is trying to separate himself out as reasonable because you see how far left all these candidates are going, to separate himself out and say i am a little different because he sees the momentum is so in favor of donald trump and that is why the campaign launched democrats for trump last night because there are so many democrats who feel disenfranchised by the party going so far socialist left, antithetical to the constitution, american values, privatizing freedom and all the things that make america great. donald trump is saying there is so much, such a wide tent that we can welcome you. they will go to donald trump more than andrew yang.

rob: democrats would say a lot of republicans are disaffected by the republican party and the president's comments and the things he does, they can push it the other way. >> i don't think the numbers show that if you are seeing the fundraising dollars, $5 million in the vote of impeachment and bipartisan support in congress against impeachment and we are seeing such momentum and look at the rallies, these -- americans i talk to every day, so many messages on a campaign of people who love donald trump, that is a talking point for democrats hoping to salvage something of their identity crisis but we are not seeing that on the campaign trail. rob: all right, 26 after the hour. uncle joe wants to go green even if it means taking away blue-collar jobs. >> would you be willing to sacrifice some of that growth even though it could display thousands, maybe hundreds of thousands of blue-collar workers. >> the answer is yes.

>> would you be willing to sacrifice some of that growth even though it could display thousands, hundreds of thousands of blue-collar workers in the interests of transitioning to the green economy? >> the answer is yes. rob: is that the best message across the rustbelt in the midst of a booming economy? let's talk about that. i want to start with the you. what did you make of joe biden's soundbite? >> it is a risky play. he is looking at the democratic primary and a need to convey a commitment to a green economy, climate change, the core issues democratic voters are considering especially as they view joe biden is behind the times on some of these things but a lot of his support comes from rustbelt blue-collar workers and that is part of his electability argument that he can take on donald trump in a

place where he is particularly popular but part of the issue is he can't say he is going to replace their jobs too quickly because there is too much uncertainty and a lot of angst around the future of work and what their jobs look like in the future. with the economy going we have seen wage close, 3%, a lot of concern that hasn't hit the rustbelt. a lot of changing the economy because of the change in technology and manufacturing so it is risky for joe biden to lean into this without saying there is a retraining program. rob: if biden got the nomination in the rustbelt state what did you make of it? >> joe biden is understanding where the future is, trillions of dollars in china invested in

green energy, mining cobalt in africa, lithium in south america and mexico, jobs of the future will exist in the green energy economy. we are not going to rebuild the whale oil industry of 150 years ago. joe biden is making a statement about the reality. if you talk to any young person they would rather have a tesla than a ford. that is the way technologies going in the future. those jobs are going to come back to the rustbelt but won't go back - >> hillary clinton tried to make the same statement in 2016. let's listen to andrew yang on the same topic. >> the network didn't do us any favors by missing why donald trump became president in the first place. 4 million manufacturing jobs in ohio, michigan, pennsylvania, wisconsin, missouri.

rob: talking about the blue states the president magically won and andrew yang hits the nail on the head about how that election was taken from the democrats. what do you think? >> we have seen manufacturing jobs creep back up. there was this decline but now that we have progress on china and the new mexico trade deal has been passed. there is an argument to be made that there may be progress to bring those jobs back but anytime you talk about this you have 2 pair it with worker retraining programs if you are talking about jobs in the future, you can just tell them they are not going to have a job. rob: showing these critical states that have to be won, we show you the before and after on unemployment has trump goes into office, you see how these numbers have dropped, a pretty good chunk, 20% in most cases, look at missouri.

how do you as a democrats say we will take these jobs away as the president is trying to put them back? >> know anything they will take jobs away. once we get to a better debate format when we don't have tom styron stage taking up time, substantively into issues they will expound, we are going to transition from cold to making solar panels, transition from producing diesel and gasoline powered vehicles, it is not about taking jobs but creating and transitioning to the future and understanding the argument that a lot of these jobs uptick is coming from the credit card, running up the national debt to not pay for tax cuts. once we pay for that and deal with $23 trillion national debt we are going to live in reality. all the republicans who run up the credit card -- >> both parties live in never
