the senate trial, my next guest fight for it president trump in the annals barrage of nonsense from the democrats. the house judiciary committee congressman matt gaetz joined me now. thank you for being with us. as all of this has unfolded, i want to look back before we look forward to the senate and what will happen in the new year. clearly this impeachment in nancy pelosi answered a press question that she's been working on impeachment for two and half years. so i guess she's pretty much admitted this is not something that just came up because of ukraine. >> that is right, the radical left democrats filled the stockings of the antitrust base with rumor and innuendo and impeachment. but the rest of america got a lump of coal, we did not gonna infrastructure bill because nancy pelosi has been planning this impeachment since the moment she took power in jerry

nadler the chairman of judiciary committee even campaigned to the fellow democrats on the notion he would be the person to bring us to this point. the real question why democrats failed to meet the standard they set for themselves. they promised us a bipartisan impeachment in the only bipartisan vote was a five person vote against impeachment. they promised us the hearings would emanate public support for impeachment and we have not seen that either. the american people hate this and if congress continues they may end up hating us. >> in the end truthfully congress move quickly toward the end of the year because they realized that the support for impeachment is almost right now among the independents and those in the middle it is declining day after day. i think they made a decision to end this soon. let's talk about in light of what you been through and the

president was not able to present a case and cross-examine witnesses and all the things that all the other presidents have been entitled to do in addition to the fact that this was not by the council but by one party against this president, do you see things changing in the senate, how do you think they will handle over there? >> i know the president wants an extended trial in the senate and he has the opportunity to present evidence but if this were a case in your court, brought by any party, you would dismiss on a motion to dismis dismiss -- and the reason you would do that is because it is not worth judicial labor for somebody despite the football when the other side has not made their case. as we said before you now, democrats failed to produce direct evidence and failed to get the public on their side, there was no quid pro quo in the only direct evidence was the

president saying he did not want anything other than president zelensky to do the right thing and the work he campaigned on. if i were on the senate i look to get this behind us and get on to the work of the trump agenda. >> there are people who say the republicans have been treated like garbage by the house and they thrown away all the rules not just in congress but a due process and they denied the president everything that ever other president has been given, it's totally partisan and predicts, is a blueprint for any major party throwing out a president of the opposite party. so maybe it's time to take away the veil and to identify the whistleblower to get joe biden, hunter biden. i am all in favor of that. adam schiff want to know who you told about it, i want to know what your relationship is with the whistleblower and on and on. i think the american people are entitled to that we don't have

to vote for months. don't you think honesty and transference is important. >> those are all reasonable questions, they were reasonable when the president asked them about the bidens and burisma and the corrupt activity they were engaged in globally. we can conduct oversight in the absence of impeachment. here's what i would do step one, impeachment is dead, off the table, over that the president and his ministration continue the great work for the country. step two oversight hearings, and the judiciary committee and foreign affairs committee. let's find out which we may have had a u.s. ministration in the obama biden administration cheating and participating in a shakedown scheme where we were selling access based on where a member of the second family had unexplained employment agreement. if we were able to do that we would free up the president to do the great work of the country and we can get the answers that you raised.

>> as you recall back a few weeks ago they decided in judiciary not to take the vote at night because they wanted the vote to be in the morning so all america could see it. isn't that a good argument to get into the senate, with all due respect the senate dealing with impeachment will get a little more attention than oversight. >> i think if lindsey graham brings hunter biden before he judiciary committee it will not matter whether it's impeachment or oversight. i think will be tuning in but where i'm from they call that all hat and no cattle and that's what we saw from house democrats. everything from theatrical performance of adam schiff from thewhole deal was driven for television because they had no actual evidence. >> it is sad and honestly i think a lot of americans want to

let's look forward to the senate trial or not a senate trial, cory i will start with you. they have the weakest, frail list most partisan impeachment that i have ever seen and that gates has just said it will get past the courtroom. >> where you think the senate should go in general? >> i think the senate should move quickly and i agree with congressman gates said, he has talked in theory about having a long drawn out process but he is winning, look at the 31 democrats sitting in congressional districts the donald trump won in 2016 and they have to decide do they want to be members of congress because they will not be successful, public opinion has turned in the president is winning and when this is in the senate the democrats are up for

reelection and i have to explain to the constituents why they're going to vote to remove the duly elected president when no crime was committed. let's get this done quickly and transportation infrastructure spending building, healthcare, and continue to grow the economy which is what this president has done. >> swalwell, always my favorite, 0% want to be president. he says when they said what is the crime he says the greatest crime, the crime against the constitution, what is the crime do you know question what. >> the crime in their minds is that he won an election he was not supposed to win. cory remembers because he was a big part of it. the president challenged the ruling class. this is a rebellion presidency and he's actually representing the wants and the needs of the american people. they want the impeachment to be punitive and they want to make an example out of him if you dare challenge the ruling class

and try to close the borders and reestablish american sovereignty and challenge the idea that america was a nation in decline then we will punish you. there is no crime. their stain obstruction of congress, what does that mean. >> let's talk about eric holder. let's talk about impeaching all of them. why now, why this man because he's making a difference. >> exactly right. one final point the left always likes to say they believe in democracy and representation of the people. power to the people but the founding fathers per impeachment as an emergency declaration if there was high crimes and treason. my goodness, this is become so politicized that the left values the replacement of this president within the love of our country and respect for the constitution. >> i assume going forward if whether matt gaetz suggested lindsey graham in the senate

judiciary that that would satisfy to a certain extent that there is so much lying, so much bipartisanship and so much they did to destroy the president that it does need to come out does it not? >> it does but we have the president in the last weeks talk about at some point in the future there will be a democrat president of the united states and there will be a republican member of the body in the house and they will impeach as president for the same thing. is that what our country has become, we disagree politically so will use the highest laws against them and impeachment. this is outrageous and the american people are tired. let the people get back to work for america and continue to grow our economy and renegotiate the bad trade deals. congress has failed the american people and they will be accountable in 2020. >> one of the things you said you talk about the president not be part of the ruling class, the

president, these things are not supposed to happen in the playbook designed by the washington, d.c. beltway that has contempt for the american people, they disagree with mainstream midwest american values, they think less of the part of the country and they want to go after the president if he challenges the status quo. >> they have contempt for the law. when you look at adam schiff who gets the records of devin nunes, he should've been put on new nurse in the telephone company should appoint somebody on notice and an awareness and lindsey graham says in the senate, adam schiff, this guy is always lying but that was getting the telephone logs, what were they going to tell him, they were going to tell a conversation they weren't wiretapped. but now lindsey graham says i'm not going to ask for anybody's record. part of america, that he is talking about that once their

pound of flesh because they feel like they have been victimized over and over and we play by the markets of rules. >> we said so many times the republicans are too nice. can you imagine if the republicans releasing phone records of the member of press and their colleagues to devin nunes, it would be outraged from every other major media outlet in the country. but not when it's a conservative. we still have a formal pending for andy mccabe -- and we not have had any judge. this is why middle america is outraged because there's two different sets of rules, one if your trump supporter in one if you support the left. andy mccabe has a criminal referral and they've done nothing with it. we need it in the american people deserve it. >> i want to be clear, not just criminal referral but the deputy attorney general in response to these cases going up and given the approval for the filing of the charges.

what is taking so long, who is stopping it. you have to wonder yourself, now that the inspector general report came out, what is going on with the fisa judge, why is the fisa court judge who signed the original warrant why is he or she not slippin flipping the. wise and john roberts getting the ball. >> i agree. part of that is inspector general report saying there's 17 mistakes against president trump. those are not mistakes, those intentional political biased in the a mistake will be some for trump and hillary and those are understandable mistakes. yet institutional political biased in the text messages we had from peter strzok and lisa page. it's so disappointing and if you go into why there is so much anxiety and discontent with the washington, d.c. congressional ruling class cory put in seems if there's two standards of justice.

we have this year. rudolph knows it's very special and were very certain and stands out. and then we put a little bit of red sugar on top. >> this is cheesecake? >> yes that is cheesecake and the bottom is a chocolate cookie crust. just to give you a contrast everybody likes peppermint and a little bit of chocolate who does not like chocolate? >> i feel like i'm a kid in a toy store. you walk in and it's overwhelming. >> we have sticky toffee putting that will serve with a warm soft and it melt in your mouth. and then we also have the white house made out of sugar cookie. and this is gingerbread. we use gingerbread as well as sugar cookie.
