8:00 pm
[background noises] jesse: welcome to "watters world" i am jesse watters. impeachment like. that's a subject of water's words. way to go lives. he impeached him. >> and doesn't really feel likeac we are being impeached. they call impeachment like, it's impeachment like.ch i don't know about you but i'm having a great time come it's crazy. jesse: t you know the craziest thing? trump is not even impeached. nancy is keeping the two articles in her purse. she hasn't even sent them to the senate yet. once they get sent to the senate then he impeachmenten is official. but she wants tola play games, she wants to wait and squeeze the little more drama out of this whole boring deal.
8:01 pm
she's afraid s if she sends these weak articles, the senate is just going to find him not guilty and be done with it all. so nancy's missing i demands. mcconnell has to run the trial her way or else. soundsds like nancy's the one demanding more from quid pro quo. that's not how this works. the speaker, doesn't get to set the terms. the house investigates, and the senate judges. she doesn't have any leverage. the democrats have already denied due process and now they are denying him a right to a speedy trial. it's par for the course. i thought to romp was a dire threat to democracy. and he had to be impeached before he could bring rick the next election. why guess there's no urgency anymore. that's how you know it was pure politics. this was never about the constitution, nancy only cares about thely pr of impeachment. she once trumped to be impeached but not acquitted. mcconnell called her bluff, he
8:02 pm
will just keep confirming judges and blasting the scam. >> it looks like the prosecutors are getting cold feet. in front of the entire country. and second-guessing whether they even want to go to trial. the senate exists for moments like this. that's why this body, hasma the ultimate say. jesse: 's game, match. name is out overrated, she's get back to work. the president is working, just look at the last two months. nothing american trade deals, china phase one, baghdad is dead. nato allies have pony up to more money. stage forgot funded border wall got funded stock market smash. dozens of judges approved. the do-nothing democrats lost the case. as of today, more americans are against impeachment than for it. impeachment collapsed. look at the term line here,
8:03 pm
the nosedive, and trump approval rating averaging close to his all-time highs. higher than barack obama's was at this.in his first term. and this latest poll has trump beating every single democrats head-to-head. doing even better in the swing states. just to give you a sense of how impeachment played in the swing states, take pennsylvania. during the height of the hearings this fall, here's what people in the swing state pa were searching for in google. e see the yellow and the green spikes there? those are steelersre and eagles. at the bottom, you can barely see red, that's impatient. they don't care about political football youth care about the real thing. you all knew the were just throwing a temper tantrum. nancy is out there shushing her members like moms do it church. >> article one is adopted.
8:04 pm
>> zero look at the bunch of bad actors. nancy china put his serious face on this deal. but the squad was high-stepping into the end zone. >> i am on my way to the nine says house floor to impeach president trump. on behalf of my incredible district. jesse: remember she is the one that said impeach the emf for six months before the perfect phone call? the media couldn't contain itself either. here's the washington post political team dinner. straight news reporters here, smiling and toasting wishing odeverybody a quote mary impeached from us on the big night. they had to delete that. we wouldn't want everyone to think they were biased or anything like that. now the lats went crazy and here we are. they could notng recover from hillary losing, so they tried to frame trump and kick him out. mueller failed, impeachment
8:05 pm
failed, and now they are out of ammo. like in the movie when the bad guy runs out of bullets, click, click,, what are they gonna do now? they are going to run out another dossier? another access hollywood tape? another whistleblower? they don't have another card left to play. only biden can save them now. would you want your fates in sleepy joe's hands? everything the left through it trump made him stronger. that is because it's not about him, it's about you and the issues trump stripe fighting for. trump completely change the republican party. he modernized it. injected populism into het. he is a post of post-cold war president. he advanced new trade terms, keeps jobs in america, new security deals in the pacific, mideast and europe. he strengthen the border, energy independent, low taxes, taking care of the vets, law
8:06 pm
and order, honoring our flag, history, and shared heritage. to hell with political correctness correctness, this america first message, this islu a majority message. that message broke down blue wall. and it redrew the elect to oriel college map. this terrifies democrats. it's a mortal threat to the national democratic party. at locks democrats out of the heartland in a coast only minority. now they are trying to take trump out dirty because he stole their states. and their voters. and he's going to do it again. it's about power with the democrats. you have it, and they wanted. that's what this is about. here with reaction republican congressman mark meadows of north carolina.in art congressman, what you think about all this? >> listen jesse you are spot on. there is nothing serious about what nancy policy is done other than the fact that she
8:07 pm
was p serious about the fact to get a political advantage. and you're pointing it out, they are actually not just coming after donald trump, they are coming after every single person whoho voted for donald trump. this is all about making sure that 233 democrats well excuse me 232 democrats, actually will supplants their will for the will of the people. but there's also one other glaring thing you need to.out. nancy pelosi was to control what happens to the superior she wants toit bring new witnesses. i thought their whole case was unbelievably, ironclad, and certainly beyond anything that we could ever imagine. and yet she wants more witnesses? that's because there's a flaw the case that she's already made. jesse: and she's exposed yourself by playing these games and looks partisan, it looks political, and mcconnell's knock and a put up withel any of this. i don't know it's going on the senate, or how it's going to
8:08 pm
shake out, but it's not going to shake out in nancy's favor i will tell you that. so you walk around the halls ofu congress, you see your colleagues, you see nancy, schiff, nadler. what is that like. what is the atmosphere like, right now in congress? >> a lot of the democrats are wearing black to put on this pr stunt as it is a somber mood. they're putting on black because for a lot of them, this is their politicalre funeral. i can tell you they are high-fiving in the hallways, if they are from a real democrat district, real progressive district the rest of them are very scared. and they should be because the american people, just like you pointed out, the american people are seeing beyond this. this is nothing more than a political stunt. and you are right mitch mcconnell is not going to listen to nancy pelosi and neither are the other 53 republicans that are over there. this is ultimate going to be decided by them, and the american people, and i can
8:09 pm
tell you, the american people are not buying the argument that nancy and her colleagues have put forth. jesse: esprit selfish of these deep blue high-fiving it, fist bumping, celebrating, spiking the football because i don't see how nancy keeps the gavel after this stunt. do you? >> well i don't i'll take what happens is in some of those states that you're talking about, the traditional states that no republican was ever supposed to win, get donald trump won them? what's happening as many of those members of congress will go home. this may be their only quote important vote that they take because what is going to happen is when 2020 rolls around, they're gonna find themselves on the losing side of the vote tally. jesse: so word on the street congressman as you are getting out of town. i don't know when you're getting out of town, but i hear you're getting out of town. when you have now? >> i'm going to continue to
8:10 pm
fight for this president ire don't care where i am, we are going to continue to fight right now. we got a job to do an estimate sure the american people see this impeachment scamper what is. i'm going to continue to fight and as we look at this, we are going to tell you were gonna stay in the fight. because the job of actually returning america to its rightful owner, we the people, is not done. we are going to get donald trump reelected and i am all in for that. jesse: all right no cabinet position? >> nothing definite planned other than i am going to help the government to work hand in y glove with him and his team. jesse: all right you would not tell me anyway but thank you very much congressman congressman meadows. let's bring in sean spicer, tammy bruce, and jason. congressman, what he think about impeachment? where does ago now that nancy
8:11 pm
is trying to play games with the senate. >> she is totally paying games i think it's an admission that donald trump is stronger politically than he has ever been. the fact that he very quickly had to add in the you mca which was good for the country that could've been done a year ago, it's a card that nancy plus he had to play and say oh we been distracted by impeachment, but here we are we can walk and chew gum two. that was a do nothing democrats and that started to hurt them. >> they try to figured out that seeing the numbers go down and they realize they've can fence no one. the numbers have gone down for them, they've gone up for trump. they remain perplexed on why people are responding the way they are. it's because they refused to engage with the american people and what's changed. i can tell you this is just like the kavanaugh situation. this trying to destroy a manat in public, with the pseudo- trial and then dropping him out into the public with no real way to get that
8:12 pm
reputation back. jesse: and when you keep adding other allegations is even less. sumac this is also what they want to do with the american society. this is the nature of this group of people. >> and attach what jason said, pelosi basically said she made us democrats walk the plank for her. one of the reason she put the usmca up as you just walk the plank but here's a talking.to say you did something. but the interesting thing to me is when she caught in the hall by reporters when they asked of them want to talk what impeachment she said i'm done talking about it. it was like you just did a very historic run, and now you don't even want to talk about it? the thing when he started the thinggth with jason we said what happens next? i think any 3-year-old or 6-year-old who is washable house rock knows when you pass a bill goes to the senate and it goes like that and then we have nancy policy telling us how important impeachment is,
8:13 pm
but will it has to pass and now she said she said she doesn't have assented to the senate. what? jesse: should expose yourself and we didn't even have to lift a finger. also big news in john durham's investigation of the origins of the russian probe. durum now looking into the role of ex- cia director john brennan. what he played in the investigation. dermis requested all of his e-mails, his call logs, and a bunch of other documents from the central intelligence agency. ag bill bar waiting on this with martha. >> he's not just looking at the fbi,i, he's looking at other agencies, and also private departments and private actors. and so it's a much broader investigation. and also, he's not just looking at the fisa aspect of it. he is looking at all the conduct both before and after the election. jesse: congressman you think
8:14 pm
john burns lowell nervous? he should be nervous and he should start lawyering up because this is an admission i think and a hand from the attorney general that this goes far beyond just the fbi. now the ig report starts with a friendly foreign government meets with papadopoulos. why? why would this friendly foreign government meeting with a kid in his 20s who basically noid backgrounds, the predicate is what they're looking at. and the most importantly what durum and bark and do, that horwich could never do is issue subpoenas and look at the flow of money. if you and us to the democrats, they spend millions of dollars, who got this millions of dollars? why did they get this millions of dollars. follow the money i think that's where this is going. jesse: and i think it's also important to know the horwitz investigation report was limited in the scope of where it could look in the subjects. so it had to stay within the department of justice. durham's investigation goes across everything. so to jason's.if it started somewhere and ended over here,
8:15 pm
horwitz had to keep his investigation very, very focused. the ability of durum now to look across these agencies and see where it started, where it went, who touched her, wendell and back, is going to be i think mind blowing wayfinding cover this. >> it if i could add, you're looking at individual, so we have to make sure there isn't just one sacrificial lamb. that he's not can it take the brunt of all of this, that he is one called. jesse: eight and their text messages at said coders wants to know everything were doing. go to page 76 of the inspector general report neil starcher read that comey admits he briefed the president several times. what's also. jesse: on crossfire hurricane. >> on crossfire hurting and he was asked by the president and sally gates to give actual defensive briefing something that they never did to president trump. there's a lot more to uncover there. but the president was briefed
8:16 pm
as early as august of 2016. >> you can't impeach barack obama? aret we to past for that? >> on generally for thigh was aa room of the president with its intelligent chiefs briefed president-elect trump. they asked, comey asked president trump to wait stand behind the remote we all exited. and let him know there is this addendum to this report it was no big deal it to the dossier. so they were very clear that haley won and judah known existed but don't worry about it.no it's amazing how that has evolved into now this sentient old documents. the other thing that is important is the right leading up until the election, we were brought into get briefed by the department of homeland security. trump said at the time is questioning my baby the outcome of the election and basically one should have the utmost faith in the integrity of the system will revolt. we want the party sick amount say was a fair vote we have this under control, there is no threat. so there were no threats three
