a ton of breaking news to start the day with. this fox news alert, a plane carrying 100 people crashes just after takeoff thing has asked and. a dozen people have been killed, 50 others injured. the flight slamming into a building. authorities say the plane went down 22nd after takeoff and broke into several pieces. investigators are looking at pilot error and technical failure as causes of the crash. carley: the coast guard looking for a missing helicopter off hawaii, searchers staying off the coast of co-why. the tour chopper was carrying twee 7 people, two of them children. it hasn't been seen since yesterday. the helicopter has a locator but so far authorities haven't detected any signals. tragedy at los angeles international airport. young girl is dead after having a heart attack on a plane bound for seattle.

statement. todd: you cannot deny the economic strength, 3.5% unemployment which is a 50 year low, 7 million jobs created. the number of jobs opening exceeds unemployment average which is huge and we heard the holiday sale had a record high. what is the trump administration doing to see these gains? >> we cut taxes, put more people, money in people's pockets they will spend it the way they want to spend rather than have government. we have gotten regulations off the backs of businesses. you see them investing, growing and because we have such strong unemployment rate, low unemployment rate many companies go outside their traditional hiring pool to hire people which means more people are getting an opportunity, people usually at the bottom end of the economic ladder are getting jobs and training they never had before and it is another reason when i travel the country people are

going to reelect this president because they like what is going on in the country. todd: what is the response the democratic talking point but not everybody has been lifted up. >> they are in denial. you can look at the stats, people at the bottom of the economic ladder are getting the largest income, the unemployment rate for people without a college degree or a high school diploma it is at the lowest rate in history. because we have such a strong labor market those companies are hiring people they normally wouldn't so everyone is gaining right now. carley: donald trump's approval rating is at 42%. should his approval rating the higher, on the strength of the economy and if so why isn't it? >> you take it with a grain of salt. it is heavily weighted toward the coasts, a lot of population centers. when you look at the polls we have seen internally the president's reelect numbers are very strong and they see the economic gains. we have seen this president, a resistance movement from the day

he was elected, wasn't going to give him a shot no matter how well he did. that is what they are doing but most americans have engaged in what is going on in washington dc. they want to see what is going on in their own lives. todd: one coasts is the west coast, specifically california and governor gavin newsom, the homeless crisis is bad and the president said if this continues to happen the feds are going to go in. is that the best strategy to read or cage? >> the president doing what he usually does, highlighting the failures a liberal socialist policies, we see it on the streets in california. he is going to call it out for what it is and remind you you deserve better. the federal government can help, there will be an opportunity to do that. that could be including opening up federal facilities, it could be more grants but making sure it is not wasted by bureaucracy.
