the regime says it is no longer following any rules of the nuclear deal. jillian: has iran ever follow the agreement or has it been playing by its own rules? we are joined by doctor qanta h ahmed. how many of the rules of they played by if any? >> that was the tension in the deal. the deal is off now. they said they no longer restrict the number of centrifuges they were using which is what they use to enrich uranium which they use toward making nuclear weapons but if you think back to pakistan which does have a nuclear weapon it also did that covertly and iran has far more imperial ambitions on a global scale. we never believed in their sincerity and their commitment to the deal. interestingly iran is saying they will maintain engagement with the international atomic energy association but europe is going to have more difficulty trying to contain them because

europe has economic interests in iran and now the gloves are off they will not be able to engage. rob: interesting the former administration father deal was so good because it didn't allow for surprise inspections or heads up on anything coming in. it seems it would be easy to conceal if you are doing something similar. >> for me the greatest disappointment of that deal is there were no other caveats attached to the deal. they did not require iran to have any compliance with human rights. rob: or ridiculous behaviors. >> they were the winners of the deal all along and saying it is suspended means they know they are not complying and there is already a regional nuclear arms race. foremost in saudi arabia who expressed fear in reservations and acting like a broker to calm tensions. heather: what is the biggest

threat to handle that? >> we know that iran is waging low-grade warfare against the united states for 40 years so we can expect hybrid terrorism, hybrid warfare from iran. yesterday in iraq the leading shia cleric who has political power launched the revival of the army, notoriously lethal anti-american force that went to war with america during iraq. we will see more terrorism but we should expect political assassinations, targeted kidnappings, all forms which iran has been engaging for years and was not required to be contained as part of the iran deal. rob: the foreign minister says the death of qasem soleimani has unified his country. what a lot of people don't realize is what iran used to be and what this regime turned the country into. how do you think most iranian's feel about this? >> you and i both know that iran

was a cultured, sophisticated society prior to the resolution where women were being unveiled, dressed like you and i, completely free, highly educated and now iranian's i know are not willing to even pick up the phone and speak let alone text or email something because they are at personal risk. we know that those iranian's in the diaspora that are brave enough to speak critically, their families are imprisoned or punished or worse in iran for doing that. we have to admit millions of peoples attending the funeral - jillian: it scares people because they look unified. >> it is a mass event and they are probably coming not through coercion but recognition that iran has been enormously humiliated by the united states, humiliation i think is appropriate but doesn't mean they support the iranian regime. they were protesting for months

jillian: live in sydney wildlife rescue, rescue efforts are underway. we see these images and it is heartbreaking. >> reporter: it absolutely is. this is the silver lining, humanity helping out these animals. these volunteers piling into the sydney wildlife rescue, new vehicle and go to the fires and there will be an all hands on deck effort, every day joes working together treating burns, administering oxygen, changing bandages, helping animals who are severely dehydrated and feeling awful from all the heat we have been experiencing. these two kangaroos are eastern grays, they look like twins but they are still, they spend 90% of their time in the couch. they didn't come from the fire zone.
