that's not good. many house democrats are frantically riling behind joe biden as a default choice, they think nominating sanders or warren would cost them the election. when democrats panic, only one thing is certain to happen. somebody is about to be called a racist. in this case, that somebody is fellow democrats doing it to each other. case in point. in an op-ed published sunday, bernie sanders' campaign chair savaged joe biden as a bigot. why question when he was opposed to forced school busing. that puts him in the same category as virtually everybody in the country of all races, everybody hates school busing the matter who they were. biden was a klansman for hating it. candidates senator warren now claiming at late 2018 at some point bernie sanders told her personally that a woman was not capable of being elected

those are legitimate criticisms, the matter what side you are on. so how did joe biden respond to this critique of his record? he didn't bother to respond. watch this. >> do you have any questions about bernie sanders' comments on foreign policy? >> you are going to get me on a fight with bernie. >> tucker: yeah, squint, chuckle. dismiss it as immaterial. bernie has got his own problems! joe biden has it exactly backwards. baggage? sanders has the least baggage of any democrat in this race, believe it or not. he is the least beholden to his own party. he's made it clear for years that he wants to overturn the entire american system. now that's appalling, without precedent in my but keep in mind that this is a country where a lot of people are suddenly fed up with the system. because of that, sanders' position gives him power. he's the most credible change candidate in the democrat party and in 2020, they could make him the most formidable challenge.

seven author of the popular book,"pop" thank you for coming on. it seems like bernie sanders really is surging. this isn't just one of those story lines of the week that you can dismiss as stupid. this seems may be more real than most of them. do you agree with that? >> it's definitely real. you see him at the top of "the des moines register" poll. came out and said the winner of the pole has gone on to win back the nomination the last six times in a row. this is a real possibility that democrats are facing but you see a lot of the establishment really starting to freak out because they do not know how to deal with somebody who's been telling some truth about the economy and about war. it's really analogous to president trump's run in 2015 when you saw the exact same thing, all these people who beat the war drum for, sign a lot of the trade deals have no respon

her latest attack and i'm quoting, "bernie i met for more than two hours in december 2,018th to discuss the 2020 election. among the topics that came up is what would happen if the democrats nominated a female candidate. i thought a woman could win that he disagreed." essentially, moran is attacking sanders as a sexist. is this an effective attack? >> it's not an effective attack. they are collapsing under the purity test they set for themselves. you are not allowed to impugn or ask the character or why this attack would be forthcoming at this time. the truth is elizabeth warren seems to be upset and other people were pointing out the other truth, upper middle-class white people are the people who support her, so they launched this attack against biden telling bernie in the use their media allies because anybody lid in your opening, they want to cry racism and sexism, they don't understand an actual indictment of the economic system, this is what they resort

congresspeople an amount. for aoc it's $250,000. for the big deal people who have committees on ways and means where you can extort companies for donations, those folks have to give up $2 million. aoc has gone out there and she raises small dollar donations from all across the country, but she's raised the most money out of anyone in congress last year, she raised $5 million. what the d ccc says is need to kick in some of what you raise when you're out there to the parties so we can support candidates who don't have the fund-raising power. aoc is not a team player. we've seen that from day one. the problem is politics, especially in congress, is a team sport. if you don't have the majority, you really don't have any power. the party can come back and punish her by not putting her on

companies? speaker it's the fact that the people in the middle class can't pay for the combination of health care, education, and housing based on what they make. that hurts them a lot more than credit card issues. >> tucker: taking out 19% interest loans is the answer to enrich some bank and this guy is their spokesman? this is sincere policy technique, i'm not attacking his personality or senility, i'm attacking his policy positions. do you think you'll get the nomination with that track record? >> i think he gets the nomination because democrats look at him as again, somebody they can actually breathe easy and not worry. and the fact that he's beating trump in states that trump won, wisconsin, michigan, pennsylvania. even florida. trump beats him nowhere and states that hillary won.

♪ >> tucker: the immediate math aftermath after qassem soleimani's death, it looked like iranians were going to rally behind their country or not, i wasn't sure what would happen. in the media where the protest after the admitted shooting down a civilian aircraft. correspondent chase gallagher has the latest on that. >> the unrest as you say began when the reigning government admitted it shot down a ukrainian commercial jet but the anger is now focused more on government reform, calling on the ayatollah and other leaders to step down. that has resulted in what appears to be iranian police firing live ammunition to disperse the crowd, we cannot verify the videos. president trump has issued statements supporting the demonstrators and calling on the regime to stop the violence.

meantime, democrats who heavily criticized the president for the escalation with iran and some even faulting him for the plane crash have remained largely silent at the rage towards the regime. the 2020 democratic candidates, only joe biden and amy klobuchar have spoken out in support of the people. journalist yasser ali of arena dissent said, quoting, i've gone some through the prominent liberal accounts and none of them iran protest today. defense secretary mark esper denies seeing that intelligence. there are reports that president trump tucker? >> tucker: thanks for that. america avoided full-scale war

with iran. such a war would be costly and a tragedy for thousands of americans, but sadly there's another tragedy very much like that ongoing and has been for decades. over the weekend, to american servicemen were killed by a roadside bomb in afghanistan. one leaves behind a wife and four children. the other one was 21 years old, just a toddler when 9/11 happened and american troops went into that country. these are the first deaths these year in afghanistan. sadly, and this is a poignant part, it's not clear what these men died for. possibly the same thing that more than 2300 american troops have died for us since the taliban was toppled in 2001. it hurts to say that but appears to be true. the afghan war papers obtained by "the washington post" last year confirm these suspicions. our leaders have no strategy in afghanistan and our troops, this is their assessment, has been ordered to stay in the country indefinitely until afghanistan

magically turns into belgium and it's not clear that'll ever happen. for more than a decade, america has lost ground that the taliban. according to the pentagon's own estimate, 40% of the money united states spends gets diverted to the taliban or the pockets of corrupt officials. billions of dollars have been blowing on things like flying burger king into the country, with the goal of spending the pentagon's budget allocation so it's not cut the following year. by the metrix metrics bureaucrats use, that success. for soldiers, it means more months spent away from their families in the path of harm in many cases. every year, the money we spend in afghanistan is enough to make every soldier currently deployed there a millionaire. imagine if we sent that money back to the communities the soldiers came from? but we are not doing that. some are coming home in coffins. two more, as we say. it's obvious what's going on, don't need somebody in washington to recognize the tragedy that's unfolding.

anybody who pays any attention at all knows it's a tragedy. we need someone brave enough to stop what's happening there for the sake of this country. doug mcgregor is a retired u.s. army colonel author of the book "margin of victory." such a depressing topic, two more soldiers killed in afghanistan. what is the pentagon's explanation for why this is continuing? >> i think they go back to the boilerplate reasons being used in the paths to justify it. we cannot leave until there is some position in this government which we hope to set up which you point out is hopelessly corrupt. it's very likely to fold almost instantly once we leave. we've got to continue to back the police and the military there, which is equally disappointing. these are the reasons that are given, but the truth is it doesn't make any difference when we leave. it's all going to fall apart. but the good news is that once we are out, at least we will no

longer be subsidizing the corruption and we will no longer subsidize afghanistan as the global engine of heroin production, which it has begun under our watch. >> tucker: it's such a distressing series of facts coming out of afghanistan. it's an insult of the thousands of americans who died they are that you've got to wonder why it's being ignored. i can't remember the last time i saw a newscast or news program leading with what we are doing that and why would she remain fit why is the country's news media ignoring us? >> for a couple of reasons. one, accountability is a dirty word. the press never uses it. i'm sure the general officers are identified in the afghan papers who routinely lied about what was or was not not happening in afghanistan. very interested in avoiding any accountability. the policymakers, politicians like joe biden and others that you have mentioned just recently all wants to avoid any discussion that would implicate them as coconspirators in all of
