in regards to how many people were arrested. now, the ukrainian airlines flight was hit by iran's missile defense system on the same night that iran launched 16 ballistic missiles into iraq. assad rouhani called the event a, quote, unforgivable error. although the iranian government first denied any involvement in the accident. meanwhile in tehran demonstrations against the government continue today for a fourth day. protesters are upset how the iranian regime initially handled the plane incident. also upset with ongoing corruption in the country. striking images showing tearing up photos of qassem soleimani killed in drone strike out of baghdad's international airport. many fires set in tehran as people fired tear gas and guns. one x factor to consider in all of this is the support from president trump. seen in the past week a number of tweets by the commander-in-chief in persian speaking directly to those protesters in tehran. it's unclear whether or not these warnings from president trump are going to

have any real world consequences iranian regime if they do in2k50e8 participate in violent acts against these protesters, brian, ainsley, steve. steve: trey, thank you very much. the iran president rouhani called a special court of judges to try to figure out who was responsible for this. he said we must be accountable. because he has eyes in his head. he sees what's going on out in the streets of tehran. and people are really angry not necessarily -- they are angry that they shot down by accident, human error the government said, that jet liner with 176 people on board. ainsley: after they finally admitted it. steve: really mad there was a cover-up. really mad that the government lied to them. and now the president is trying to put the toothpaste back in the tube. ainsley: did you hear about the news anchors that quit their jobs? two news anchors quit their job and one of them posted on instagram this headline on fox news says iran state tv sees two news anchors quit. forgive me for 13 years i

nancy pelosi is going to be talking with her caucus about how to proceed on impeachment. the media research center looked at the network coverage of the first 100 days of impeachment. and 93% of it was negative. that's not surprising. buff,ing what do they talk about the most? take a look at this. 849 minutes they talked about impeachment. 126 minutes about syria. then they talked about isis for a little more than an hour. north korea 20 minutes. about the same on immigration. at the bottom, look at that they talked for 9 minutes about trade and the booming -- everybody saying the economy is booming. of the 9 minutes i bet most of it was about trade. so little about what is going right with the economy, which we have stuart varney on all the time saying things are really humming. ainsley: yeah. so the president tweeted out he said dems and fake news trying to make soleimani into a wonderful guy. anything i do whether it's the economy the military or anything else will be scorned by the radical left and do nothing democrats. brian: you won door why.

whatever you think of the president, it's amazing he even has 46% approval rating when 93% of the coverage, whether you are doing a job like we are doing or passively into the news is negative. you think and by the way i worry about the international feed on some of these news channels. people flip around from hong kong to malaysia and say wow, this president is terrible. the american people just hate him because they just get the perception that everybody else who is out to get him is out to get him. and when you have 93% of one school of thought, you cannot say you are fair and balanced. ainsley: look what is happenings in iran. isn't that so telling? president took out a terrorist. not stomping on the american flag and israeli flag. uprising there. there is protests. women, before the revolution, not too long ago, women did not have to cover their faces. women could get a great education. thin have you this regime that comes in and i think iran is starting to wake up and realize we could go back to what we used to be.

ainsley: texas governor greg abbott taking trump up on his offer to bar refugees. first state to do so. in a letter he wrote to mike pompeo. abbott claims in 2010 more refugees received in texas than aner state. in fact roughly 10% of all refugees resettled in the united states have been placed in texas. texas continues to have to deal with the consequences of immigration system that congress has failed to fix.

texas attorney general ken paxton joins us now to weigh in. good morning to you. >> good morning, ainsley. ainsley: good morning. i understand you support the governor. why? >> i think the message is pretty simple from the governor. since 2010 in the letter he makes it clear. we have allowed more refugees into our state than any other state. all the time believing that congress would fix our immigration problem and borders. they haven't done that we also have the border issue to deal with. lots of immigrants come in. hey, congress fix, this two, it's time for other states to step up and help with this. texas has been doing their share for a long time. ainsley: did you do this because it's costing your state and taxpayers a lot of money. >> it's expensive. but also the responsibility of dealing with immigrants all types of issues. so, the responsibility has been ours. we have taken it on. we still have it. because of the border crisis. i think governor is saying it's time for other states to share since we are disproportionately responding to this.

ainsley: at least 40 governors have said they will allow refugees into their state. are there any other governors throughout also saying we are going to ban refugees? >> i'm not aware of it. look, this is a year-by-year decision. trump, for town natalie has put a cap on it like other administrations that have a much larger cap. he is doing his part. i think other states are doing the right thing. they are taking on responsibility they should take on because they don't have the same border reaction we do. ainsley: what are you hearing. >> we have done our share for a long time. we will continue to do our share given the fact that congress is not reacting to the border crisis. and i am thankful that the president is. we still have an issue on the border. we are still dealing with that every single day in all kinds of ways. ainsley: does this mean if you cross the border you are not allowed, if you are a refugee to live in the state of texas? what will you do if you catch someone who is there. >> that's the responsibility of the federal government. they end up taking those

especially when you are young, can you imagine being paid in four month and then having to save that money. most of these players that you see that are going bankrupt are coming from lower socioeconomic background. they don't have parents who have ever, you know, been able to teach them how to manage their finances. and they don't teach this stuff in schooling. you know, financial literacy is a huge issue for a lot big portion of our country, especially under served black and brown people. brian: guess what, jack, you are targeted. you have money 21. a guy or woman comes in wait a second, i know what to do with your money and i have got these other players. a lot of time people go sounds good. >> you are right. you know, i teach a class at fordham university i'm a professor there for the school of business. i teach a class for athletes and artists. the thing, the first thing that i teach them is the vocabulary of business. so, you know, if you are a millionaire and making a million dollars but you don't understand, you know,

equity or in debt is and you don't understand how to look at a balance sheet there is a big problem there it really goes back today occasion. you know, you look at the nfl draft, about 70% of those players don't have their college degree i'm a big proponent of finish up your schooling. you went to the nfl and i had my master's degree. i dedicated the same amount of time in the classroom as did i on the football field. and unfortunately, you know, the culture has created this perspective that, you know, you focus on just football and not your education. but, the league has done a really good job of giving these opportunities to the players. now, the problem is that the players aren't taking advantage of it. brian: true. you have a small fee and go out there in the nfl could actually license you and they do try to give some of these classes. keep in mind, too. there are some very big names that have been taken for a lot of money. i'm not going to run through them now. i want to make sure it's on

union raises questions about the nuke deal. trey, who has the government of iran arrested regarding the shootdown of that jet liner? >> brian, ainsley, steve, good morning. we have a lot of information on those arrests in iran today. some breaking news off the top though. the european participants in the 2015 nuclear deal say they will trigger the dispute mechanism of this agreement. this will open the door for possible sanctions from european participants on the iranians. this is something that president trump has spoken about extensively. the european partners in that deal not doing enough to increase the pressure on the iranian regime. we will have to see how that develops throughout the week. as it relates to these arrests today. iran's justice chief announces there have been arrests related to the shooting down of ukrainian airlines flight earlier last week that killed all 176 people on board. that announcement was made on iranian state television. the chief adding extensive investigation had taken place though he didn't give any specifics on who was

arrested and how many people were arrested. ukrainian airlines flight was hit by iran's missile defense system on the same night that the iranians launched 16 ballistic missiles into iraq. overnight iranian president rouhani called the event unforgivable error although the government first denied any involvement in the accident: protesters are upset with how the regime initially handled the plane incident and upset with ongoing corruption in the country. images showing people tearing up images of soleimani killed in drone strike outside of baghdad's international airport earlier this month. many fires set across tehran as police fired tear gas and live ammunition. we will wait to see how all of this develops as the president is offering his support to demonstrators in tehran. back to you. brian: all right, trey. thanks so much. so interesting the way people going out of their way says thee protests are about shootdown of the ukrainian airline and because their government -- no, no. they want to make sure people understand that this

state level, getting involved in national politics? >> >> because we hear every single day from our constituents that they are tired and frustrated what's happening at the federal level with the impeachment sham and process that's occurring. enough is enough. so i filed this resolution on behalf of my entire republican senate caucus. that's 26 outs of the 35 members we have to really encourage the united states senate to act as quickly as possible within their full constitutional authority and then to condemn the actions of. so members of the house of representatives for passing and holding these articles of impeachment. enough is enough and they need to get back to work. on the serious issues that affect everyday citizens and their lives. steve: you just said that ultimately you would like to see some of the members of the house of representatives -- members of congress condemned for what they did. who are you talking about? >> correct. i'm talking about the members in congress that are passing and holding these articles of impeachment and they are just playing games. it's a high stakes game of

chicken that they are playing. and think are doing irreparable harm to i believe the office of the presidency, constitution and country. it's quite frankly embarrassing to see members of the democrat party in congress that change their story every other day because they can't get their answers down pat. and it's embarrassing. and they are doing harm to our country and they are doing harm to our constitutional process and to the office of presidency. there are some serious issues that they need to be addressing at the federal level. and they need to get back to work. because the american people pay the price when they are not working to solve the issues that will help those citizens in their everyday lives. steve: i think mitch mcconnell son board with you. he would like to get rid of this as quickly as possible it sounds like. >> absolutely. steve: he is going to streamline everything. >> that's correct. steve: 24 hours which would be about one week of time per side. ultimately what is going on

is politics. missy, we have heard -- >> -- that's correct. steve: democrats say look we have got to impeach him otherwise he might get reelected. >> that's exactly right. but they are elected to do a job. we are expected to do that job here at the state level. we have to work within a state balanced budget per our constitution. we have to solve the problems that we face every single day and that our citizens face. and so i really filed this resolution on behalf of the folks out there that think that their voice doesn't matter that they feel like they are small and inconsequential and marginalized. they are call deplorable. they are frustrated and sick and tired of these games that are being played. they need to get to work. they need to be the serious, thoughtful policy makers that we elected them to be and that we expect them to be on behalf of our country of. and quite frankly, it's embarrassing to see what's happening up there they are just playing this high stakes game of chicken and politics when they really need to be doing the work that is going to help our citizens in their everyday lives with prescription drug prices, immigration reform. all those issues,

subpoena authority. the president had no due process. he couldn't cross-examine witnesses. adam schiff prevented witnesses from answering republican questions. we have had the most unfair process i have ever seen. can't go to the senate and let the democrats get only the witnesses they want. i hope this dismiss this and get an acquittal right away. if they go to witnesses, you will have to have both sides. we would love to hear from the whistleblower. remember, 435 members of the house only one member, adam schiff. only one member knows hot whistleblower is only one member of the staff got to talk to the blib. that's the individual who put our country through four months you have. this have witnesses hope it up both sides have a real fair process at that point. again, i hope this thing gets acquitted and dismissed right from the get-go. we will see how that all plays out. ainsley: when you flip around and watch the different networks. what's your reaction when you see the media's obsession with impeachment? >> the truth still wins in the end. the truth still wins. look, every single republican voted against the articles of impeachment. one democrat voted with us.

one democrat voted present. and a third democrat voted with us and switched parties. the truth still wins in the end. just understand though, it's never going to stop. these guys are going to go after this president forever because they don't like the president and they don't like any of house support the president. it didn't even start with ukraine. impeachment started before this guy was president. impeachment started on july 31st, 2016, when the fbi opened up an investigation and spied on four american citizens associated with the trump campaign. and everything they did for that two and a half years, until we finally got to ukraine. so this is never going to end. it started before he was president. remember, what congressman al green said. the day that we were getting ready to start the markup in judiciary committee last month al green said if the senate doesn't acquit, it will not end. this is where the left is this is where the democrats are the truth always prevails. that's what we see play out here. steve: democrats saying you know nothing stopping us from impeaching him again. ultimately, congressman jordan, has this backfired on the democrats?

brian: more problems with new york state's insane new bail reform law. it's a revolving door of arrest and release. including one man, here is an example accused of robbing five banks, another suspect is accused of half a dozen burglaries, no bail, they're out same day. our next guest says the law makes it nearly impossible for him to do his job, and more importantly for the people underneath him to do their job. nassau county police commissioner patrick rider joins us right now in studio. commissioner how has your job changed with this new new york state democratic-driven rule? >> i was a cop back in the 80s when the revolving door was going in-n-out and it brings down your morale in policing and now same thing, those we lock up and going to jail are coming out the same day. brian: all right so give me an example. you talk for example, about these from chile. >> we had two individuals that came in on the 90 day visa from chile. they committed havoc on the

brian: manslaughter in the second degree? >> firing into a crowd somebody gets severe injured. brian: we've got to let them out, third degree assault, burglary and get this, stalking. >> hate crime. hate crime is on the rise in the state of new york and on the rise in nassau county. it might not be a physical attack against the jewish community but it's an attack against the jewish community. brian: we see what's happening in this state especially in this city, not your area but this city in particular, in-out. >> that's correct because they think that bail is harder on people. >> when bail reform, justice reform it's not a bad thing. you need to look at certain items you can't have an 18-year-old kid sitting in jail for marijuana for a week because he couldn't come up with the $500 worth of bail but we don't let the same person walk out that commits a burglary in nassau county steals over $1 million and puts fear into an entire community and walks out. brian: i want to read to you what bernie sanders said if you could pop that up for a second. this is what president sanders would do.

whether you're leading your family it's all the same. brian: you also thought about people that are natural leaders that's what this book is really for. >> it's actually for anyone because there's no one that across-the-board is knocking it out of the park in every aspect of leadership. we all run into things where okay, i don't really know what to do here or don't know what to do there this book i've tried to layout simple tactics that anybody can use to improve their leadership. ainsley: jocko, you have five tips to be a good leader what are they? >> i've got a bunch of tips and one of the sections i talk about what happens when you're a new leader. what do you do? how do you step up into that position and i actually broke it down to about a dozen things, and they seem so common sense. steve: give us a couple. >> have integrity, right? what does that mean? do what you say, say what you do be respectful to your people. does that seem like a moment to discover that? and yet, all the time, people not treating their employees with respect. brian: you talk about being

humble. some of the people, you have to have that swag and my way or the highway. >> being humble is number one on that list because if you're not humble guess what happens? you don't listen to anybody else , you don't take any input and when you're trying to execute something when it's not going well instead of looking at yourself saying what can i do different you say no i'm going to stick with my plan because i know everything and run it into the ground. steve: when you use that voice i'm surprised at number two, don't act like you know everything. >> well that's absolutely true. and this is something especially new leaders they come into a position and they think that everyone's looking at them and they think that everyone thinks that the they should know everything. look the whole team -- steve: nobody knows everything. >> the whole team knows you just got here. ainsley: could you read a portion of your book for us? >> there's a spot here where i talk about how detachment is important. taking a step back and i learned this in my first field platoon we were clearing an oil rig, got on this one section and everyone is looking down their weapons

and i took a step back and looked around and made a tactical call as a new guy and so this is about after i did that, it said as they executed the movement, i realized something very powerful. i realized that by high-porting my weapon, stepping back off the firing line and looking around, my detaching physically, even if only by a few inches, and more important, detaching mentally from a problem at hand i was able to see infinitely more than anyone else in my platoon. and since i was able to see everything, i was able to make a good decision which allowed me, a new guy, and the most junior guy in the platoon, to leader. you can't get wrapped up in these problems you got to take a step back and detach. steve: if you make a mistake? >> oh, yeah that's what you got to do. you got to own it there is the first book i wrote. this book is called extreme ownership. brian: when do you know when to crack down? when you have to show that you're in charge, how do you know that? you could be humble but you got to be in command. >> yeah, absolutely that's

>> thousands of hours of work into one small town focusing on the businesses at the heart of their main street. what started became a national movement. steve: it did and they are on a mission to revitalize small towns all across america with one small business at a time. ainsley: now the show's small business revolution is gearing up for its fifth season. steve: joining us right now are the hosts, ty pennington, screen left and right amanda brinkman. ty, tell us about the show. >> it's probably, i think one of the cooler shows out there. basically, amanda and i and the whole team come into a small

town, and that is literally voted to choose and we have about six businesses. amanda and the team are phenomenonal, because it really does transform this town and what i love about what's happening is you're not just helping out one family but six businesses which have an extended family and that's a legacy. steve: it's the whole town. but it also revamps the energy in a town, and so as you guys know the big box stores are right out by the highway, but sometimes that main street gets forgotten and what i love about the show is amanda, they change, this is our fifth season so we've already done some amazing things. ainsley: that's awesome. amanda last time you were here you asked our viewers to nominate their small towns. they've done that and now we can vote? >> yes, absolutely. ainsley: what are the five towns >> they are benisha, california , the dells, oregon, livingston, montana, and in new

york and so each season as ty said we revitalize a different small town main street and now we're to the process where the public gets to decide where we're headed for season 5 so they can vote at small business revolution.org. >> and how do you win, more votes? and we'll figure out where we're going to show up which is awesome. steve: so what has the impact, amanda been? you go in, after the tv crews you always wonder what happens. does it work out well? do people go boy are we glad we did that and ultimately did it turn the town around? >> it really did and what we love is the ripple effect that we see with the community so each season we focus with working on six core businesses that we feel are key to the town 's success, but we really see that kind of positive momentum and the great publicity and just the positive energy and momentum forward really going throughout the entire community so new businesses opening, you see unemployment rates dropping, you see people just having that sense of pride for their community and that's what we want to do is create a movement

to get people to understand the importance of supporting the small businesses within their towns. >> and they start working with each other too which there's a synergy that happens between all of the businesses in the town which is awesome. ainsley: what are some of the stories you all have heard along the way because i'm sure you're changing lives. >> i think people would be surprised how many small business owners are yet to pay themselves but so many of them are so brave and doing something to get back to their community, want to provide a product or a service so we love when we start to see them pay themselves and increasing their business. last year we worked with an amazing woman, her name was w ilma, who runs this great restaurant in arkansas, and she went from being the sole cook server everything, her kids were helping her after school and now she has hired four people, there's a waiting list her income is up we just love seeing that because these entrepreneurs and small business are what make our towns unique so if they can also be successful and provide for families in the meantime.
