representative robert lighthizer on the eve of today's signing this trade deal. now, the deal pauses tariffs going forward, but there are still $250 billion in chinese imports under 25% tariff and another 120 billion under 7.5% tariff until a phase 2 agreement is reached. >> these tariffs will still in place until there is a phase 2 if the president gets a phase 2 quickly, he will consider releasing tariffs as part of phase 2. if not, there won't be any tariff relief. so there is nothing to do with the election or anything else. there is no secret agreements. >> now the chinese yesterday the american business leaders. it was standing room only to get in to see the chinese delegation. what they were sailing was they were telling american businesses to be patient. they are going to implement this and assuring them that they will protect intellectual property and going forward will be a good trading partner with the u.s. we will have to see how this is implemented. back to you.
