around. steve will have more on this as it develops. steve: anyway, welcome to sports center. brian: let me tell you this. we woke griff up early. it wasn't easy. an early night. day three get set for a weekend performance by the defense team for president trump. griff? griff: good morning, brian, ainsley and steve. to our esteemed guest in the live studio audience, final day house managers are making their case against the president led by their man, adam schiff passionately pleading with the senators. >> if right doesn't matter, we're lost. if the truth doesn't matter, we're lost. no constitution can protect us, right doesn't matter anymore. and you know you can't trust this president to do what's right for this country. griff: and a milder jerry nadler after being admonished by the chief

justice, comparing this now to watergate. >> this presidential stonewalling of congress is unprecedented in the 238-year history of our constitutional republic. it puts even president nixon to shame. this conduct is not america first. it is donald trump first. griff: democrats continue to demand witnesses and talk of a trade appears to be off the table at the moment. the president weighing in with this tweet saying the democrats don't want a witness trade shifty schiff, the bidens, the fake whistleblower and his lawyer and second whistleblower who vanished after i released the transcript. the so-called informer, and many other democrat disasters would be a big problem for them. now, the president's defense team takes over tomorrow. he thissal have 24 hours over three days just like the house managers did. as you mentioned yesterday, brian, it doesn't appear the defense team will use all of that time. meanwhile, the senators exhausted as they may be, are back at it at 1:00 today

bound in silence with nothing more than milk, water and some fidget centers courtesy of senator burr. ainsley: we wondered who had the stress balls. ainsley: stress balls and fidget spinners. brian: reports of two people with eyes closed jim rich and bernie sanders. steve: that is some of the courtroom sketching. ainsley: they are not allowed to video it. steve: they can't take pictures or any of that stuff. we understand apparently at one point ben sasse was asked to put away a pouch of chewing tobacco he asked the sergeant of arms. he said are those spittoons real or just decoration. dianne feinstein left an hour early despite the fact that earlier in the day adam schiff had said, you know, if you don't sit here and you don't listen, we will throw you in the little jail. he was probably joking. brian: we think. steve: elizabeth warren played a game of something on paper and bernie sanders sat for a little while, as

my dad used to say i'm just resting my eyes. and he was chewing gum. brian: rand paul had the most to do. he crafted a paper airplane. he had a cross word puzzle. he traced the sketch of a capitol building. ainsley: we have not talked about what they discussed. we are just talking about how bored they are. brian: it's the same story over and over again. this is the same thing we got before christmas. it's the same people with a better back drop. i love the marble. ainsley: fox news had the highest ratings during the impeachment stuff. all the other networks there ratings are so low right now is that an indicator of what is going to happen in november? i think so. [applause] steve: every day during the proceedings we have looked at the "new york post" editorial board. their comments on today, day four, it says this: impeachment day four. show senators some mercy. show mercy one of these people said. let the senators drink

it, by seeing involvement in it and trying to dispel it? guess what, you brought it into the forum, it's going to make it easier from ted cruz and company to andy mccarthy that essentially said, you want a witness, i have a number one and it's going to be hunter biden followed by joe biden. and then maybe we will seat whistleblower. steve: right. because it was the house managers who opened the door as they say in legal parlance. brian: oops. steve: kept talking about hunter and burisma and joe. although joe said he wasn't going to go. if you saw tweets yesterday he said he was going to start unveiling evidence today. could be on this show. he will be with us in 53 minutes. rudy giuliani will be here. [applause] ainsley: we have heard elizabeth warren and democrats say free college. free everything. i'm going to give you. you don't have to pay your student loans back. i'm going to pay them for you. the rich people in this country are going to pay them for you. hard working americans are

going to pay them for you. a man is mad and furious. he worked really hard to put his daughter through school. watch him confronting her. >> my daughter is getting out of school. i saved all my money. >> god bless you. >> am i going to get my money back? >> so you are going to pay for people who didn't save any money and those of us that did the right thing get screwed? of course we did. my buddy's son bought a car went on vacations and i saved my money. he made more than i did. i worked a double shift. my daughter worked. you are laughing. that's exactly what you are doing. we did the right thing and we get screwed. steve: that happened in monday in grimes, iowa before the impeachment proceedings. he didn't know he was on camera. you could tell. he was in the back. and it was caught on camera. and we could hear his frustration because he has played by the rules the whole time. he saved his whole life to put his kids through college and he did. and they have no debt. but his friends who just

went crazy and went on vacation, they get the same deal he did at the end of the day where they don't have any obligation tolls repay a debt. ainsley: i remember when i got this job, i had worked here overnight for seven years. did local news. and we all have these same stories. and i called my dad when i got in the cab. i was so excited because i had just within named to work with y'all. my dream. this is my dream job. i will could stay here for the rest of my life. brian: by the way i pushed back heavily against it. [laughter] ainsley: i called my dad and said dad, are you sitting down? i said how many jobs did you work to pay for my college? because he put himself through school and his goal was to put all three of us through school. he said at some point i had to work three jobs but it was my pressure. i said i just got named "fox & friends" anchor. i was so excited and it's my pleasure because now can i help my family. and my dad worked so hard. he left coaching. his love was coaching. he was the head basketball coach at wahlberg college. he left it because he wasn't making a lot of money and he had three kids.

he sold janitorial supplies for maintenance supply company forever and was the number one sales person because he is such a hard worker and worked extra jobs. he sold toilet paper and tools. steve: i worked three part-time jobs every day during college every day of college to pay my way and i still wound up with student debt that i was able to pay off about 10 years later. and boy was that a happy day. brian: my story was interesting. i was born into money so i don't have any appreciation for any of that i wish i could share and i probably should have participated in that: student loans, and you have the actual student loans. steve: where is peggy? right over here. peggy, how are you? >> i'm good, steve. steve: stand up for just a second. where from you. >> >> long. soon to be a resident of myrtle beach, south carolina. steve: okay. there you go.

what do you make of this story where that guy chewed her out for, you know, giving everybody all the stuff regarding college and forgiving college debt and he played by the rules and he is steamed? >> well, the whole thing about elizabeth warren is she claims she has a plan for everything, including this topic. and what i find incorrect with it is that her justification for her plans just don't make any sense. and if you do the math on the healthcare and other topics, again, it doesn't make sense. i, like you, went to college had debt. worked. i went back to school to study nutrition so i have a small little outstanding debt that will be paid. so it can be done. steve: as somebody who studied nutrition almost every day when i went through college i had a cup of noodles. is that health were? don't answer it. jill? jill? good morning. how are you? >> good morning. fine, thanks. how are you? steve: good. what do you think about elizabeth warren? >> well, same thing. steve: getting chewed on by that guy. >> it's ridiculous. she has a plan with no foundation. they like to promise the world to everybody. some people who are not well-informed believe that and they get on that wagon and they think that's their, you know, their way to free everything. and just like so many of you, you know, we have three children. our two sons went to college, our youngest daughter saw the debt that they are carrying, she decided to go into massage therapy because she -- her main thing is i don't want to have all of that debt for the rest of my life and, you know, have to try to pay that off. so, you know, you are costing some children a part of what their dreams are she is still saying i'm eventually going to go to college. but, to say now that we're just going to hand this out and make it free to everyone just like that man who spoke out, it's completely

ridiculous. just like most of these candidates, they just laugh about it. because they think it's just a joke. steve: perfect. thank you very much. round of applause for her as well. [applause] steve: where is joanne? joanne? where is joanne? oh, over there. in the teleprompter it says either window side or wall side it. said wall side. joanne, what do you think about this? some people play by the rules. and they get stuff done. and then under some of these plans, people don't play by the rules and they get the same end results. >> right. yes. but, also, it doesn't take care of the problem. the bureaucracies in the universities are going to get fatter if we feed them more money it. doesn't take care of the problem. and our kids are coming away with loans in the hundreds of thousands of dollars, making the same starting salary that you and i did with rents that are twice what you and i paid. and it's a terrible hole

that we are creating for our kids. and there's no end in sight. elizabeth just wants to pour more money at it. steve: as mike rowe as said and other people there are some kids who don't have to go to college. you know, they become massage therapists or a welder or a roofer or a plumber and they make a lot of money. i'm just saying. do you know how much it costs to fix my sink? [laughter] >> i think we just spent 8 years thinking everybody has to go to college. steve: right. >> just like everybody has to be stuck in schools. steve: can i see the hands, how many of you did not go to college? all right. of those people, you didn't go to college, are you doing okay? >> oh yeah. >> i would say that's 100 percent. thank you all very much for talking to us about elizabeth warren's big plan. brian and ainsley? brian: we are going to be going back to the audience quite often until you get sick of us.

brian: yes, the figures of that song low cas locash were oe guests on our show. president trump taking on what he calls glaring loopholes in immigration system. steve: the department of state will crack down on birth towrm by no longer granting temporary visitor visas to women hoping to travel to the united states to have their child so their child can wind up an american citizen. ainsley: here to weigh in on this is retired ice director and fox news contributor tom homan. good morning, tom. [cheers and applause] ainsley: tom, what do you think about this? >> i think it's long overdue. we have been talking about this for decades. i have said it many times, i worked for six presidents. everybody talks about fixing this birth towrm, you know, the birthright citizenship issue. and president trump talked about it during the campaign. difference is, he is walking the walk and getting it done. it's long overdue and right thing to do. brian: how do you define it,

women come here pregnant, give birth here, that son or daughter immediately becomes a citizen, how do you change that? >> look, the issue is they come here for the sole purpose of having a u.s. citizen child. they get a visitor visa or tourist visa coming here for one purpose. whole purpose come here and have a child and immediately leave. the three biggest countries that exploit this are russia, china, and turkey. there is a national security implication here. you are talking about tens of thousands of u.s. citizens in china and russia. once they are 20 or 21 years old. they can be recruited to come here, get in any time they want. and, you know, i have had a lot of cases with chinese nationals here. they have to do certain things in this country or the chinese family back in china is under threat from the government. i fear real national security implication here and the president knows. this. steve: how is it going to work? most of these women who come into the country illegally happen to be pregnant, very, very pregnant with child. what's going to happen when they are stopped starting now? >> they are going to be

questioned in-depth, right? in the past new a visa, not a lot of questioning occurred. now, they are going to ask those tough questions. why are you coming here? you are six months pregnant. you plan on giving birth here? and the issue is not only come to be to be a u.s. citizenship. taxpayers in the audience we are paying for this. when they have that child they immediately leave the country and cost of medical care. hospitals don't absorb this. they pass it on to those of us who have insurance. brian: 36,000 foreign born women gave birth in the u.s. then left. that's a huge number. >> triple that number and quadrupled that number. those on visas. not talking about the ones coming through the southwest border and have a child. ainsley: now they are going to wait in mexico until there is a democrat in office and then they are going to cross? >> good. [laughter] >> they are waiting for

[laughter] [cheers and applause] steve: this past week i believe it was on monday we showed these images on the southern mexican border where the mexican police and the nationals were stopping people who were coming in from guatemala. they had the big fence up. they closed the gates. there has been quite a turn down there because once upon a time they just walked across, walked through mexico, toward us. but now clearly threat of tariffs against mexico. having mexico saying, do you know what? maybe we ought to close that door. >> absolutely. we got a president, the greatest president in my lifetime. [cheers and applause] >> i worked for six presidents. i will say this a thousand times and say this until the day i die. i worked for six presidents starting with ronald reagan. i respect them all. no one has done more poor 3w-rd security and safety of this country than president

trump. brian: massachusetts today tell everybody what's happening. >> supposed to be in boston at a press conference. they wanted me to go testify the state legislature is having a hearing on expanding sanctuary cities. of course they will not let me testify. brian: massachusetts. the whole state. >> anybody in massachusetts watching this show call your legislature up and say i don't want to be the next new york. brian: california. >> kill a 92-year-old woman after raping her. massachusetts taxpayers need to stand up. sanctuary cities are dangerous for the community and law enforcement. make no sense. brian: they are a magnet. >> yes. steve: ladies and gentlemen, tom homan. and is he going forward. take a look at all the things, ainsley, that the president is doing starting today for the next week. ainsley: today is he going to be speaking at the march for life rally while democrats are trying to impeach him. on tuesday, many of you all like that. on tuesday, is going to release his middle east peace plan and then is he going to host israeli prime minister benjamin netanyahu. brian: along with number one contender, too. and then he is going to come toll new jersey, a rally in new jersey. [applause] ainsley: to welcome congressman jeff van drew to the republican party. he switched from democrat to republican because the impeachment stuff. and then on wednesday, you have usmca signing ceremony and thursday he has a rally in iowa. steve: joey, what's he up to. >> i will be completely honest. fox nation had me in the middle of a cornfield in iowa all week. i didn't get to watch this impeachment. i think i have missed nothing. faces and i don't need to know anything else. i was with a lead guitarist mr. mr.. a guy looks at me straight in the face and says listen democrats keep telling me trump is a liar. he never lied to me. everything he told me was going to do he did it. that's where the american people are. you are not going to win trump is exactly who they voted for. brian: yesterday we saw the debut of mike bloomberg'sed a saying essentially how bad president trump has been for the military and how unpopular he is. [laughter] brian: how unpopular is he running that ad. some of your best friends are still in and were. what's the truth. >> the truth is there are as many political opinions in the military as there are in this country. there is not a monolithic political ideology in the military. however, when it comes to pay increase, opportunity to use the v.a. beyond the v.a. choice and mission act. sending us somewhere and bringing us back so we don't have to linger. the opportunity to actually win a battle there are a lot

of reasons while people in the military feel like this administration supports them more than president obama's administration. i served movies my time under president obama. there were times like when i deployed to afghanistan in 2010 where before i got halfway through my deployment we were telegraphing to the taliban hey, if you will just wait a little while toward the end of this summer can you blow us all up. lo and behold i lost my leg. i don't blame president obama for that that wasn't good policy. what we might have now might actually work. in the military we are going to appreciate that. steve: i'm sure when you are going through airports people ask you a million questions. the folks here have a million questions. over here on the window side. claudia, where are you? good morning to you congratulations. >> go cats. claudia, what's your question for joey. >> first, joey, thank you for your service. >> yes, ma'am. >> i think there are improvement in the military. if there is one other thing you would like to see aaddressed what would that

be. >> spend three months. learn day-to-day how to deploy, training. we need to spend that much effort learning how to get out of the military. right now two week course at best. mostly hecking the box. the dod could do a better job transitioning our men and women out. steve: civilian life and jobs. >> absolutely. brian: carl, you also have a question. you are sitting in the front run. paul, you have a question for joey jones. >> joey, thanks for your service. >> yes, sir. >> i like many men over to iraq and afghanistan. and as you see now you have lost your limbs, people have died, people got maimed, coming back. how do you feel towards the government with not achieving really proper stuff for going over there and not even being in iraq for no reason at all because there was no nuclear bombs. >> well, it's a difficult question to answer.

but what i like to say is we didn't fight one long war we fought a bunch of different wars between midterms and presidential elections. we have seen turnout and care about the war when there is an election going on and politicians tel tells us to. i think it's up to you all to have a stronger voice and create consequences when we end up for somewhere for 8 years without a stated goal. you have the strongest voice if you use it. brian: you called whole bunch of islamic streamist that were going to be coming here. they reported for duty and saddam hussein was men natsing in the middle east. if he had been in power we would have been confronting him. steve: when we said paul had a question over there two pauls actually moved. >> i bet your name is paul in the front row? do you have a question for joey? >> thank you for your service. you. >> thank you for your service. >> we have men and women stationed all over the world enemy different places where they are targets. they are not wanted. they are not appreciated. at what point do we hope to
