>> hello america welcome to life, liberty and levin. we have a great guest, peter schweitzer profiles and corruption. he has a book on the bidens. five of them. we are really going to want to dig into this but before we do, i feel compelled to address what's been going on on the floor of the u.s. senate. it's supposed to be a somber occasion. there's nothing somber about it. it's a farce. it's pathetic and grotesque. the senators have a job to uphold the constitution of the united states and to protect it, not from a law-abiding president but from a lawless majority in the house of representatives. the democrats. >> you don't need three days in 24 hours if you have a true case of impeachment against the president, vice president or judge and so forth. they are all over the map. they've got their graphs and their video clips and the

the past when peter. [inaudible] when the democrats controlled the house and they were looking at nixon for impeachment, all those rules thrown out the rules. all the house rules thrown out the window. the republicans couldn't call witnesses for those secret star chamber events taking place in the basement of the house of the representatives, it's appalling. the real story here is donald trump is being treated like no president in american history. in fact, no person facing impeachment in american history. that's a fact. the corruption, the abuse of power if you will has taken place already in the house of representatives and so every republican in the house voted against it. every single one.
5:05 pm
every democrat but one voted for it. that should tell you everything you need to know. so that's their case. these articles of impeachment which are bony, abuse of power, obstruction of congress, absolutely phony. let's look at what the requirements are under the constitution of the united states. the final section of article two which generally describe the executive branch specifies the president, vice president all civil offices should remove from office if convicted in a trial of treason, bribery or other high crimes and misdemeanors. two clauses in article one layout the role and the senate trials of impeachment, impeachment by the house have been rare and convictions after a trial by the senate even less common. two presidents, one senator, one cabinet officer and 15 judges have been impeached. of those only eight have been convicted and removed from office. you better have a strong case
5:06 pm
boy, it better be an overwhelming case but you need 23 hours in three days and you need john bolton. he'll make the case or make mulvaney will make the case or you had control of the house, that's different now or in the senate. we don't like the judiciary telling us what we can or cannot do. the senators better do what we say otherwise they're involved in a cover-up and obstruction and not holding up their constitutional duty. i'll tell you what they have, they have zip, nothing, i have right here a telephone call that we go back to, the transcript of the president of united states july 25, 2019 with the president of ukraine. tell me, where in here is there treason, bribery or other high crimes and misdemeanors question right there aren't any. there are none, zero which is why they almost never referred to it. and what about regular crimes that are out there?

5:42 pm
when he ran for congress, he discovered a secret that a lot of washington insiders know which is you can make a lot of money doing media buys for political campaigns. for example if you were a candidate for the united states senate and you wanted to buy a million dollars in advertising and i did that purchase, i would get the million dollars but the standard practices i would get to keep about 15% as commission. you make a lot of money doing that so what does bernie sanders do, he's running for congress in vermont and makes his wife jane responsible for media buys and we estimate, based on the number. >> so the family. 5:44 pm
the question is where did that money go? it certainly fits the pattern we've seen with bernie sanders who, for decades, for 36 years used the phrase politics should not be dominated by billionaires and millionaires. about three years ago he dropped the reference to millionaires because he is now one and i think the big surprise that a lot of supporters will find is this is an individual who talks about socialism, has not conducted his investments himself and his family life. >> that's typical of oligarchs in russia and india and these other totalitarian regimes where their communist or fascist or whatever it is. it's one thing for the people but it's another thing for them. this is an area that the media and bernie sanders should really pursue and try to nail it down. >> absolutely. the other thing that comes
