the facebook activity tracker collected data when you aren't online. more on the new tool. >> reporter: facebook revealing how often it is tracking information about its users daily life even if their phone is off and they are not using the social network. on tuesday facebook unveiled a facebook activity tracker. the tracker shows 180 days of data facebook has collected including online and in-store purchases. frequently visited destination, internet searches and more. facebook uses that to build a profile shaping messages and adds its users see from businesses to politicians. the activity tracker is in part the delivered promise from mark zuckerberg made during the cambridge analytic a scandal to let people clear their history.
