jillian: democratic senator chris than hall and plans to force a vote demanding chief justice john roberts subpoena impeachment witnesses and rule on any claims of executive privilege. rob: how will this bold move change the course of the trial? will it? texas congressman michael burgess, let's pull up a tweet from van hollen. this is what he is saying to give john roberts a lot of power. a motion that will ask john roberts to subpoena any witnesses and documents he things are relevant to this and will on executive privilege to speed this up. does this have any chance? >> it is an unusual move. on the house side the senate makes their own rules, the senate will vote on that. i have serious doubts that

motion will actually pass but i can say this about the issue of witnesses on the house side. i am on the house committee on rules. the articles of impeachment came to the floor of the house, we had to write the rules that would allow debate on the articles and there was concern on the republican side because they hadn't allowed any republican witnesses to be called so we brought up the issue of witnesses and we are pretty sure that all the witnesses they needed hear from have been heard from and it was such a serious issue of such significance for national security that there could be no delay and it had to go to the floor tomorrow morning and be voted on and now they say we don't have enough witnesses. you can't have it both ways. their assertion is they heard from all the witnesses that need to be heard from. jillian: let's listen to what

didn't call bolton and mulvaney, has anything changed? now we are going to drag it out starting now rather than in december? >> it could. that is the gamble. the senator from maryland feels he can get justice roberts to change the rules in the middle of the senate trial. i don't think that will work and i don't think there will be the votes to do that. jillian: let's talk about the coronavirus. this outbreak is nearing 8000 cases in china this exceeded the sars epidemic and you are reached by the cdc. we have so many questions. first, are we getting all the information from china? is everything we are accurate? >> i can't speak to the accuracy of what we are hearing. china has imposed the largest quarantine impost in the history of public health, they closed a city of 10 million people where the epicenter of this virus is. that is a good thing from the standpoint of more people with

an infection won't be traveling out. the bad thing is the news blackout so we don't know. i do know our cdc and our nih and secretary of health has been trying to work with the chinese, get them to allow our help but the china problem to be sure but it could become an america problem, a worldwide problem and we need to be cognizant of that. rob: hopefully you are more confident after being briefed by the cdc. >> i was worried about this as i have ever been. when i came here sars was the thing, we had two versions of bird flu, swine flu, this one concerns me more and it is evolving daily. the advice that was put up, no

and you can't go forward until the judge determined based on medical evidence. jillian: what if he never can? >> that it doesn't get tried. >> what about the family? >> this is the thing. if he commits suicide the family has been deprived justice, the police department, the community invested so much energy in this case and the kids, the poor kids launched -- lost another parent. if he dies the case against him get dismissed. jillian: what about the girlfriend? >> the case of the two codefendants keeps going, interesting dynamics, having been a prosecutor i think defense lawyers were holding their cards back with the other two codefendantss saying i have some data and hopefully they will testify but now that fotis may be incapacitated that

changes the equation. they may be coordinating right now saying you need to get the prosecutors asap. rob: we don't have an answer. first thing i thought of is a note that tells where the body is. nothing says where the body is and he remains in a vegetative state or guys don't you have to say we will give you a great deal, just tell us where the body is? what do you do? >> two excellent points, a search warrant was executed at fotis's home, people were asking why. is a person who did these investigations i think the why is they wanted to see if there's a suicide note or evidence where the body is buried. of those things come up it is likely prosecutors will go to a lesser involvement and say we need to find his body so the family can have a proper burial and we can close this case. we are willing to cut you a deal.

in response to coronavirus, what do you make of it? >> the issue is the fear of the virus, the virus itself. the markets don't like uncertainty but what do we see in the american stock markets? we see them surging back up. that tells me the potential interruption in the supply chain is not going to be as significant as some others may have felt. that doesn't mean china won't be impacted. china will feel it. if we go back to 2003 we had the sars outbreak. >> we passed that. >> it seems to be as deadly although it is moving much more quickly. the issue from back then, huge impact on china. china was not as interconnected with the rest of the world as

they are now but for some reason you speak of the strength of the american economy and the market to withstand potential major interruptions in china is really uncanny. shannon: i hesitate to say with certainty yet because we don't know what is going to happen. as of right now it is not as deadly as sars but this has happened so rapidly and is progressing so quickly we don't know what the numbers will be like in the next 2 or 3 weeks, we don't have that information so how do you anticipate the markets reacting and changing over the course of time? >> as things become clearer we could see the markets adjust as facts and circumstances change. we can say right now the market is not anticipating there will be a major disruption to the world economy.
