"fox and friends first" cohost is live with a countdown to kick off. >> reporter: first time since the 2015 season the super bowl does not include the patriots. we are talking the chiefs and the 49ers. let's look at some video. to set the scene what it is like in miami, it is going to be such an incredible game, so many people looking forward to it. fans have been here for days and the week, making a vacation of it. the matchup features two great offense if teams, second super bowl ever where one team lead a conference in rushing yards and the other letter conference in passing yards so when you thing about that it might come down to a battle on the defensive side. let's look at some video of the teams and players who have been here a couple days getting ready. they have practice getting warmed up. you are talking physically and

the question is did you ever go to ukraine for the role your firm got paid $3 million for, you and your partner to reform. why do you think you got the job? why the question so important? >> it goes to the heart of the impeachment inquiry and the president was asking on the call the we have seen the transcript of what the ukrainian prime minister or president was going to be doing to investigate that. that is one of the questions at the heart of the corruption and we know now the people involved in the whistleblower inquiry have looked at the burisma issue dating back to 2016 so it is an important question. todd: two questions for joe biden. what did you know about the ukraine prosecutor, fired for investigating burisma and why did you engage in a quid pro quo over a foreign official fight?

>> this goes to the prior question, why did hunter biden get fired in the first place? it is obvious to everybody because of his ties to his father. this goes back to ukrainian corruption and the president's duty under federal law to make sure the money we sent to foreign countries is not done in a corrupt way. carley: i want to start with this one. tell us about your contact with the whistleblower and other witnesses before your committee. >> there has been widespread commentary about this, people who watched proceedings in the house, seems clear to everybody watching that adam schiff had extensive contacts, one of the

questions rand paul wanted asked in this proceeding was about ties between the alleged whistleblower and a member of the house staff and the chief justice refused to ask that question. that is the question that should be posed. todd: the next question, why about the testimony? >> we heard notoriously there were 17 witnesses in the house. there were 18 witnesses with the testimony of that inspector general being concealed today. we don't know what happened with this star chamber proceeding. it will be interesting to know why if that testimony is helpful that the chief house manager continues to conceal it. carley: adam schiff made things to dramatize the situation during the impeachment inquiry and trial. given lies about the president during this trial, why are you the lead prosecutor?

half the time but being the first contest in the country and this process of caucusing makes the state very exciting every four years. every four years the phrase iowa caucuses is burned into american years with four congressional districts becoming the center of attention hounded by political candidates and national media but what is caucusing? if you don't live in a caucus state you probably don't know. we asked iowa voters to explain what it is like. >> everyone is a room and you go to the corner for the candidate you like the most and everyone is holding up signs and chanting and cheering and a lot of excitement. >> you feel the passion and vibrancy when you come into the room. it is an opportunity for people to talk about their opinions and fox and be open about why they want to vote for who they want to vote for. >> reporter: most states use a primary to pick political candidates. votes are counted.

caucusing is a more visceral community experience. caucuses take place in schools, churches, libraries, caucus goers publicly announce who they support. imagine a room with 100 democrats played into groups based on who they support. this year among others you will see groups for biden, bernie, warren, buttigieg, klobuchar, styron some groups bigger than others. larger groups luring supporters of less popular candidates to join their group as you typically need 15% support to move to the next of three rounds for democrats. the process gives iowans a look at the candidates. >> it is a tradition that works well for iowa and dates to the early days of statehood. that is where things have worked here. >> we made john kerry a regular guy. he was here so long he became a regular guy and we liked him by the end. >> it is such a neat thing that as americans we get to

participate in this and stand up for what is important for us and have an impact on the process which is the incredible freedom we have in our country. >> reporter: in a democrat caucus there are three rounds and in this election they will be tallying the votes after each of these rounds for more transparency. a lot of people think that is because of what happened in 2016. hillary clinton won by 0.3% to win the iowa caucus in 2016 and a lot of bernie sanders supporters thought they were slighted out of this caucus. it got really ugly and some democrats believe that ugliness led to a lower turnout in iowa and led to donald trump winning the state of iowa in the general election after barack obama had won it twice in the eight years before. carley: time magazine decided caucusing is like rushing for a sorority.
