world ♪ jillian: a lot to talk about this one, wednesday february 5th and you are watching "fox and friends first". rob: thanks for starting the day with us. we are not going to tear the scripts up. calling it the great american comeback donald trump delivering a commanding state of the union address celebrating the american spirit and the strength of the heroes who defend it. jillian: the president hammered home the progress made during his first term in office while going on a tear on the radical policies of the left, a sentiment nancy pelosi took quite literally. rob: griff jenkins live with major moments from last night. >> reporter: you expect to hear about impeachment you would have been disappointed, the president making no mention, citing tax

partisan rage and what was on full display last night is what donald trump cares about, the country and our great men and women and amazing things happening on full display, amazing guests last night. heather: nancy pelosi initially against impeachment, now you see what happened last night with her ripping up the papers at the end. you wonder if she is at a breaking point and what her game plan is going to be between now and november. >> it is completely unhinged. we have never seen behavior like this. the norms nancy pelosi shredded by that vulgar display, childish display and when you think about not just that moment, it was a great opportunity last night for unifying moments. we were celebrating american greatness, restoration of prosperity and peace and

democrats couldn't bring themselves to stand and applaud for a 9-year-old girl that got a scholarship, moments like that, people are watching and seeing our president leading in the white house, america is doing free and democrats are nervous, acting out, throwing one of the biggest temper tantrums in american history and a great contrast for us to show what really matters, what is really important and all about putting our country first. rob: one of the busiest political weeks we have seen in a long time and you've got this acquittal coming at 4:00 today from the senate. it looks like you are going to have senator joe manchin joining republicans to acquit the president making this bipartisan. maybe three, maybe two. what do you make of that? >> it is a very important moment. the president will be acquitted

forever and he has been vindicated more importantly by the voters. look at the poll numbers. they have rejected this partisan impeachment and to have a bipartisan opposition to this political hit job out of the house and now what we are likely seeing later today, bipartisan acquittal, a very important moment for our constitution not just about donald trump who deserves to be cleared, he didn't do anything wrong but for future presidents that impeachment shouldn't be a petty partisan political tool that really debases our constitution. jillian: thank you for joining us. and now to this, 2020 democratic hopefuls turning their purpose to new hampshire for next week's caucuses. president of candidates plowing at following the iowa meltdown. rob: in concorde, new hampshire, results from the hawkeye state

rob: the an employment rate at 3.5%, blue-collar jobs added under this administration, plus 500,000 manufacturing construction, 700,000, transportation warehousing, these are the kinds of jobs a lot of people thought might be lost forever as we continue to progress the way things work. >> in the economics profession mostly ivy league professors have refused to acknowledge donald trump's economic policies make sense and endlessly chanting we are in a manufacturing recession. we have added thousands of manufacturing jobs, 30 out of 34 months. people don't hire more people in manufacturing to make less stuff. the definition of a recession is less stuff is the definition of a boom is more stuff, more people, more stuff, more jobs, more wages, better jobs. it is a great renaissance, a great story. when an economist tells you this president is bad for the economy remember he probably told nancy

to rip up the speech. rob: democrats continue to deck out the unemployment rate did drop dramatically under president obama in the eight years he had after a recession. what do you make of that argument? >> it is tough inheriting a financial crisis into recession but one good thing about inheriting a recession is you lower the unemployment rate without much effort but we were told over and over by the same liberal batch on the charles river at harvard and mit and columbia you can't bring down the on employment rate any further without all manner of inflation and bad things but this guy did it but how did he do it? by persuading people who had given up on working with barack obama who went on food stamps to give up the food stamps, give up the welfare and go back to work. minorities who so often have been frozen in dead end jobs forever are switching jobs in record numbers because they are finding new opportunity. rob: a lot of people on the left are trying to hold of the economy is only working for the
