>> the washington post is citing an internal document that shows the white house will not be able to eliminate the deficit in ten years. that is something they wanted to do. but according to the "washington post" it will show they are not able to do that. meanwhile, this evening the president and first lady will meet with governors at the governors ball for the national governors association here at the white house. tomorrow night on the campaign trail, president trump heading to new hampshire for a rally. he will also make appearances where democrats have a primary or caucuses as you saw in iowa. that is tomorrow night in new hampshire. eric: on the even of the you new hampshire presidential primary, the democrats overshadowing that. arthel: call it the granite state live. democrats in an all out campaign blitz with just two days to go. that's until new hampshire's first and nation presidential primary. fox news has you covered on all angles.

we have reporters tracking those hopefuls is a crisscross new hampshire. molly is reporting from the capital city of concourse. >> good afternoon, hear from the granite state as you mentioned voters will cast their ballots on tuesday. candidates are flat out camping events leading up to these final hours. let's look at the poll numbers. right out of showing bernie sanders at 24%, this is the lead of suffolk university boston globe that has buttigieg, former mayor pete buttigieg a 22%. senator elizabeth warren at 13%, and the former vice president joe biden does attend. then he goes to single digits. in the wake of this debacle in iowa that was unfolding, officials here have sought to reassure the public they have a century long tradition of getting things right. >> when our citizens cast about, they know their vote will become rounded correctly, with integrity and on time.

>> new hampshire uses paper ballots, there is no way to fail. there is nothing to hack. things are done old school here and voters pay attention, they participate, they meet the candidates, they shake the hands of future presidents and they show up. >> we have historically high turnout and that means us regular folks to come out and vote. they are easy to sway back and forth over the last couple days of the election. so i don't think this is over in the state, i think we have to watch what happens on the next couple days. i think all the campaign candidates know that too. >> this is the 100th anniversary of new hampshire's first of the nation primary. the secretary of state bill gardner, who has been in office longer than i have been live, is predicting a big turnout for hundred 20000 voters. that will be the most votes cast in a presidential primary when the incumbent is running for reelection. voters expect more democrats to show up at polls and

republicans but ultimately a big turnout expected here in the granite state. arthel: . eric: meanwhile joe biden is looking to rebound after the disc the pointing fourth place in iowa. he still leads in most national polls, but after taking that hit in the hawkeye state, he is now downplaying expectations for two tooth tuesday's primary and's new hampshire. live with the biden campaign in new hampshire. >> while eric, that sending confession on friday that he might not do wellin new hampshire did not sit well with some voters. and now the former vice president trying to clarify his he said they will benefit in his home state. he is also pushing the narrative that even if he does not do wellin new hampshire, it would not be a fatal blow to his campaign because a diverse state like south carolina and nevada have not yet spoken.

>> former vice president joe biden has a sights set on bernie sanders really pushing the message that a democratic socialist will certainly come under attack from trump and a general election but may not be able to pull in support from voters they would need. arthel: eric, mark meredith is live in new hampshire where bernie sanders is holding a town hall. hi mark. >> hi arthel, a little cold here out that it would be up in new jersey. we are in claremont new hampshire and this is an area knows bernie sanders very well. we are just a few miles away from the vermont border the state he has represented now in congress for so many years. we have seen bernie sanders out on the campaign trail all day long today. as you have mentioned he is holding an event here in claremont at this hour. while he sat on the trail he's also trying to reaffirm his

message with his voters on who might be undecided on if they're going to support him. he's pushing back on those who say he's too far left to win. here's what he had said earlier today. >> this campaign is more than defeating trump. there is a growing anger on the part of the american people, whether conservative or progressive, something is wrong when a handfuls of alien errors have so much economic and political power. >> this is a poll that is getting a lot of attention. you can see where bernie sanders' neck and neck with pete buttigieg, sanders won the new hampshire primary four years ago and 2016. you see from those polls right now boston globe shows just how close this race is. we are expecting a large turnout, not just for bernie sanders but for democrats overall going into the primary on tuesday. the secretary of state send this going to be 280,000 people out here for that. we've also served in the

sanders campaign early about the strategy and here's what they had to say. >> i am amazed at what we are able to pull off. yesterday alone, we knocked over a 150,000 doors in the state. state and in the final days he's really trying to hammer home to voters that he is the crossover candidate that has appealed to both independent voters and maybe even some republican voters. he has the calm temperament to be president, the opposite of president trump. and has drawn comparisons to obama with just two days before the primary the gloves are really off your new hampshire. today, joe biden did admit mayor pete was better organized in iowa, but biden says pete is just a small-town mayor. he is not qualified for president. and pete is wrong to go along with the obama administration. the sit and bernie says pete is taking too much money from billionaires. and pizzas those billionaires be taxed more when he's in the white house. he's received more donations and the average is $40. he is not turning away and any amount in an effort to be president trump. >> i think president trump and his allies raised 25 million

bucks in one day. i am building a campaign that's not defined by who we reject, it's defined by belonging, is defined by inclusion, is defined by pulling together to get the job done. >> today joe biden is also on the trail touting his support from the african-american community say no one can win the nomination without it. mayor pete, sophia seemed very low support from black voters. and on fox news sunday chris wallace asked buttigieg about the stats which indicate black teens were four times more likely to be arrested in south bend when pete was the mayor. mayor pete admitted the disparity is there and insisted it's a nationwide problem, that a local mayor is not going to solve autozone. mayor pete says he lesson legalize marijuana and other drugs to lower the incarceration rate. but he just says he's going to the south where he does have a problem with african-american voters and he's hoping those people will give him a second thought. arthel: while senator

elizabeth warren dismissing the need to come out on top in the granite state after seeing a third-place finish in iowa. it's. >> hey arthel, senator elizabeth warren is still stuck in about third and fourth place in almost every poll here in new hampshire. it's right about where joe biden's family have really seen him change course, pretty dramatically over the last 24 hours. he is much more harder on the attack. but not senator warren. at her first big event of the day, and concorde new hampshire, she played it safe. she spent about an hour retelling her personal life story and doing a deep dive on her many policies proposals. she spent zero time talking about how she believes she is the best position to be president trump or any other democratic rivals for that point. and if warren really crisscrosses state today, stopping in diners, shaking hands, senator amy klobuchar is gaining some ground on her nephew polls after very strong showing in thursday night's

debate. and i spoke to three voters had a worn event and said they were very firmly in warren's camp. but after watching senator amy klobuchar debate on thursday night, they are now seriously considering switching their vote from warren to klobuchar. even though klobuchar is far more moderates than warren. suggest a really interesting point to watch as we close in on these final days before the primary. right now i'm standing in front of lebanon high school, this is where senator warren is making her way. this is where her final event of the day's going to be. but right now she is in newport at a pub. i know she made her name earlier in this campaign having a beer, but at least right now, she is not having any beers just talking to supporters. arthel: kristen thank you very much and we want to remind our viewers we are going to have new reactions to all this at the bottom of the hour with special report host bret beyer you're gonna stick around for

that. eric: we are now getting some new details on what's being called another insider attack in afghanistan. the pentagon identified two u.s. service members who were shot and killed yesterday during a mission in the eastern province there killed by a reported afghan soldier. trey is following this story from her mideast bureau. >> eric good afternoon we are getting more information on those two american soldiers who were killed yesterday along with six others who were wounded when a man and afghan military uniform open fire on the group. the department of defense releasing the nays of the men killed their hobby or of texas and antonio rodrigues of new mexico. both ranked sgt first class. according to a statement released by the u.s. forces is carried out with the machine gun after the special forces held a meeting with local leadership in the eastern part of the country.

eric: new york city police have arrested a suspect accused of shooting those two police officers. in back-to-back ambushes, just 12 hours apart. this is a crime rate in new york is set to be increasing, as a city sell leftist anti- police protests here last week. alex hogan is live at lincoln medical center in the bronx were one of the officers was released today. >> eric, a pre-medicated assassination on officers that's what the police commissioner's calling all of this after last night's shooting. and then another won this morning. and one person is in custody accused of both. take a look at's security footage that we can show you. this is video that police say the suspect opened fire at around 8:00 o'clock this morning on officers in the 41st precinct. law enforcement were able to take him into custody, that's after he ran out of bullets

and surrendered his weapon. one officer is recovering from a gunshot wound to the left arm. all of this happening after gunfire just 12 hours earlier blocks away. police say the same man opened fire on a pair of officers in the patrol van. the president of the police officers union is outrage. >> if a police officer gets shot, this number of times in 12 hours, what's going to happen on our subway system? what can happen on a bus stops? what can happen to when you walk to the corner store? we don't have a chance. >> officer injured after last night shooting is recovering from a wound to the chin and neck. he left the hospital today cheered on as you can see by the nypd members. this is not the suspect's first arrest he has an upcoming court date for a separate crime and in the pass he also faced a conviction of attempted murder. again today officials law-enforcement, police calling this man a coward, in the meantime he has been taken

to the hospital himself for evaluation. eric: shameful and we thank new york's finest. ♪ ♪. arthel: will the coronavirus death toll climbing to at least 812. surpassing the number of people killed globally by the sars epidemic nearly two decades ago. chinese authorities bracing for potential uptick in cases as millions of people return to work after an extended lunar new year break. christina coleman is live in our los angeles bureau with the latest. >> are felt yesterday the first patients were accepted to a newly built 1500 bed makeshift hospital and brew on china. it was built in two weeks to help take the load off of other hospitals overwhelmed the sick patients. also china's finance ministry announced their government has allocated $10 billion as of yesterday to help pay for medical care. new numbers show the fast spread of this virus.

744 people died worldwide from the sars outbreak back in 2002 and 2003. the coronavirus death toll has now passed that with 812 fatalities. more than 2600 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours ending at midnight saturday. most of those cases were in the who bay providence in central china. the epicenter of the coronavirus outbreak. some of the newly reported cases are in spain, malaysia, south korea, japan, and vietnam. there is some good news here, the new cases of coronavirus report in the last 24 hours is down by about 20% compared to new cases reported in the previous 24 hour period china's national health commission credit strict prevention and control efforts for that decrease. experts say this could be assigned the spread of the virus is slowing down. >> we are in a four-day stable. where the number of reported cases has not advanced.

and that is good news. it's very, very, very early to make predictions about numbers in this outbreak. this is still a very intense disease outbreak in wuhan. >> in the u.s. 27 passant jurors had recently been to china and the ship has been doctor new jersey over coronavirus concerns. four of the passengers on that vessel were sent to the hospital after one of the passengers tested positive for the flu. but last night at jersey's governor issued a statement saying all four passengers tested negative for coronavirus. high in hong kong thousands of passengers on a cruise ship that had been quarantined there since wednesday were finally allowed to disembark after crewmembers who may have come in contact with the virus all tested negative. and the world health organization is sending experts to china starting tomorrow and tuesday to investigate this rapid spreading virus. arthel: christina thank you very much.

eric: it's nonstop campaigning for the democrats in new hampshire pair with just two days to go to the first in the nation primary. the candidates working over the undecided voters. they could make or break somebody on tuesday. ellison barber is live in manchester new hampshire with the very latest, hey allison. >> hey eric, we've been walking around manchester today talking to voters. there are a lot of them for still making up their minds. there are about 50%, a little less than that 49% or so who are voters that are firmly set on their candidate. everybody else, they say they

are open to switching their support from one candidate to another. but decided or not, voters here are paying attention. one of their biggest issues, their biggest concern is electability. they are thinking about a whole lot of other things as well. >> we need to get rid of the person who is in the white house right now. >> we are one of the few new hampshire citizens who are fully committed to our candidate, michael bennet. >> i have a few canvas but have made a final decision yet. >> i don't know who for yet, just civility rights are prime i biggest. >> issues in the economy, i think it seem strongly think it's artificially inflated. >> taking back the senate and nominating as candidate who can win in all parts of the country. see mecca polls are moving a little bit buttigieg and sanders are in a horse race

barry he's posted acial report, so good to have you bret. arthel: so a question going into tuesday can buttigieg eat bernie sanders and bernie's territory? >> i just got back from pete buttigieg rally and it was by far the most attended rally i have seen, and that they had to turn people away at the door. i think there is some momentum here. whether it's iowa, or just they are seeing a buttigieg as the guy -- the kind of unifier that they think they can get behind. i talked a lot of voters there and they say they are all late deciders. all of new hampshire essentially is often. but they do in this particular place, seem to like pete buttigieg. could he do it? yes. and if he did it, that would be a real shake up to the race

and really blow out joe biden. arthel: that's true and i'm to get to him in a second period according to your reporting, i think bernie sanders is also feeling, he was just on with chris wallace let's play that. >> and if you do, as mayor buttigieg does, take huge amounts of contributions from the ceos of the pharmaceutical industry, from financial years in fossil fuel industry, from the insurance companies, from wall street, does anybody seriously believe you are going to stand up to those powerful entities and represent working people? arthel: that was senator sanders attacking, he has a laser focus on buttigieg right now. you mentioned vice president joe biden. let's go there. he is looking past new hampshire to south carolina primary in 20 days. can widen santa underperform in new hampshire? >> i don't think so our cell, i went to a biden rally as well as it was not well

attended. it was pretty small. he was on teleprompters, at least on i went to. there's a real question on how he is going to do. imagine if he finishes fourth or fifth for the second time in a row, iowa and new hampshire. how to south carolina, even if it's home territory for him, how is it they look to him and say you're the guy who's going to go the distance. i actually think there is a possibility if he finishes poor here, that that campaign is really good to go through soul-searching about the way forward. arthel: i see your point but i think they will try to stick it out because that's where he's got his money on south carolina. i don't have a lot of time with you, but i want to talk about the girl next door right now. that senator elizabeth warren. does she need to gain speed and new hampshire at this point? it's pretty crucial for her wouldn't she say? >> yes, and i went to one of her rallies as well. there is a lot of enthusiasm,

elizabeth warren supporters are diehards. they go around, but i tell you what, she is again and enabling senator and if she doesn't finish in the top 123, that is going to be tough for her as well. i do think new hampshire is going to be pretty definitive this year. much more impactful than past years. maybe since 1992. arthel: that's a pretty good prediction there and you have all the experience of back that up. tell us before you leave, what you have teed up your special tonight? >> tonight we will roll out all of the bells and whistles for democracy 2020. we've got a great studio here, and the sun and snow is cooperating. got some great suggests an bill on the board will break down the counties we are looking at tuesday night. there is a lot to digest, and i think they are going to have votes on tuesday night to actually count. arthel: i think said to bret i'm banking on that myself. great attack to not be

it's an ongoing challenge for us. eric: it's interesting when you see the reports it is a gun man wearing an afghan uniform but then there is there an official spokesman said he was an afghan soldier. as 2017 there was a hundred 55 of these attacks. and it's just something from the modern war institute of west point about this.
