president trump will formerly propose 2021 budget to congress today where he's expected to request $2 billion for the border wall. but here is the thing, less than predicted, so is it a sign the progress of the administration has made, here to break it down for us is vice president of the national border patrol council, art, we appreciate it, always love having you with us. >> thank you for having me, i really appreciate it. heather: just to compare for people in terms of the money that's expected to be request for 2021, it's $2 billion, that's down from 5 billion which was requested in 2020, so is that a sign to you that there's progress being made and you had actually know what progress is being made, tell us about it? >> there are areas that have built new barrier but at the same time there's areas that badly needed to be prepared and

the old barrier had to be removed, new barriers needed to be placed and that's what's happened, nothing has been built, that's 100% a lie, it's made a big difference. heather: overall the goal for the administration i understand is 509 miles of that, they've completed about 110, there's 192 miles still that needs to be under or it's under construction currently, in terms of the amount of support for people who are actually living in these areas, what are you hearing? >> you know, there's also some areas where people allowing some of the individuals to be allowed to build a barrier in their own private land which

is a big deal but at the end of the day this is what it comes down to, president trump asking to secure our nation's borders, it has nothing to do with political parties and now it's going to fall on congress to see if they care about the future and the safety of americans as much as the president cares. >> yeah, that's why i asked you that question in terms of public versus private land, also let's talk about the media and the coverage that this has been getting, you mentioned this off the top and why do you think we are hearing such a different spin on it from the mainstream media? >> you know, it comes down to -- they just, people are so enamored with want to go attack the president that they are not willing to see the good things that he's doing and i can tell you right now that he's been tremendously been supporting the agents that are out there, it's made a big difference and you have the media just want to spin their own story but at the end to have day, that's what it's going to come down, do you

including a new red flag law. well, utah shooting sports council chairman was at the rally and joins us now live with more, thank you for joining us. >> thank you. good morning. >> let's take a look at the beginning, 109 which calls universal background check and we have house bill 115 where custodians can be found liable for damage cause by someone else using their firearm, house bill 136 where you can have firearm in place where restricted person can gain access, house bill 229 which allows family members to ask law enforcement to ask a court to restrain a person from having a firearm. so what are your main concerns with the bills? >> well, in utah we have one of the highest rates of firearm

ownership, you know, very, very little restrictions on firearms, yet we have one of the lowest homicide and violent crime rate even with a firearm in the country. so what we are asking for is to fix a problem that isn't there. there's a solution they have and so we have individual concerns with each one of the laws on top of that. heather: we hear a lot about red flag laws, hb229, what are your main concerns with that, there are 17 states and dc currently with red flag laws. >> yeah, they have been trying red flag laws, extreme risk protection orders for 20 years now and today more than 30 states have rejected them outright, our biggest issue is red flag is due process. their version of due process to get this passed for a petitioner to have the rights taken away is akin to same type of standard

that you see in court. >> this was on saturday is when the rally took place, the very next day we had reports of officers being targeted, thankfully not killed here in new york city, what is your take when it comes to, you know, convicted felons using weapons. >> convicted felons can't use weapons, that's something that we are against, the red flag laws, what they are talking about are some of the solution that is we already have in existing laws, felons can't have firearms, and you can have them arrested, they are talk about people that haven't committed a crime and, you know, haven't threatened anyone that they can do that yet they are so apparently dangerous that they have to remove their rights to

murray and women for trump jesse, thank you so much for joining us, we appreciate it. >> good to be with you, heather. heather: let's take a look at the latest poll from new hampshire that has bernie sanders with significant lead, 27% now over buttigieg coming at 19% and we mentioned amy klobuchar climbing a bit after her last performance, last debate performance and then biden still in fourth place, he was fourth in iowa as well and elizabeth warren, they're actually tied at 12%, david, first of all, your take on the different campaigns and what they all need to do to win new hampshire. >> well, good to be with you, heather, a state where everybody is 90 minutes away from drive by everybody else and complete political uncertainty right now, that's basically because of independents, as you point out in reporting, both sanders and

buttigieg are -- sanders is flat, buttigieg trending up, sanders has a lead, the race as you point out is for third and klobuchar is trending up and biden and warren trending down, probably the person who is in fifth place will have a very hard time going onto nevada and south carolina, the vice president maybe being the exception to that rule, this is all about independents, heather, 4 in 10 voters are essentially what we would say are undecidedded, they can move, 43% are independents, who knows where they are going to go. heather: madison, as we discussed, buttigieg coming in at 22.6% as a result of the narrow, narrow margin, sanders is seeking a partial recanvass of iowa results, we will see what happens.

do you think some of those will come across and vote for president trump? >> i do. when you look back at 2016 results, president trump lost new hampshire to hillary clinton, there's only four electoral votes in the state, president trump wants to win those this year and wants to produce result that is impact lives of people not only in new hampshire but across the country, we are seeing it an economy like we've never seen before and people in new hampshire are a great example of that with 20,000 people off food stamps, 19,000 new jobs and 1300 being manufacturing jobs because many people on both sides of the aisle will never come back, president trump has fought for the people of new hampshire and i think when it comes down to it in november people vote historically based off of their pocketbooks and they will do that once again this year. heather: sanders leading with independents in new hampshire, you mentioned the 25%, he's in the lead there, madison in terms of the rally that's happening

tonight, your take on that, you expect a huge turnout? >> oh, we have seen huge turnouts with almost everyone across the country, people are excited and energized and when i was going across the country back in 2016 the thing that really made me realize what was going to happen in november long before we got to november 2016 was the amount of people and the incredible turnout that we saw on the ground, the energy was real and thousands of people not only going and filling up these venues but people waiting outside, people in the cold for sometimes 10, 20 hours, people who wait outside and watch it on screen that can't even get in. people love this president because they think he's putting them first instead of all the other interests, when you see democrats raising their hands to give free health care to illegal immigrants. heather: do i want to get david in here for the final word, do you think new hampshire will go more successfully for the democrats than iowa caucus?
