2:00 pm
airport to the new stadium. it is the largest stadium in the world. he's building it now, and it's almost complete. he's a friend of mine and a great gentleman. we will be going at the end of the month. [reporter question] >> president trump: they want to do something -- >> hi, everyone, we will listen to the president first. >> president trump: you would be surprised. you'd be surprised, but i don't want to say. >> you could talk a little bit more about the white house. >> president trump: no, i obviously wasn't happy with the job that he did. first of all, he reported a false call. what was said on the call was totally appropriate. i call it a perfect call and always will call it a perfect call. they were two perfect calls. there were no set up and anything. he reported it totally differently. they all went wild when i said that we have transcripts of the calls. they turned out to be totally
2:01 pm
accurate transcripts. if anyone felt there should be changes, we let them make it because it didn't matter. we had totally accurate transcripts. it turned out what he reported was very different. when you look at the person he reports to, said horrible things, avoided the chain of command, did a lot of bad thin things. we sent him on his way to a much different location, and the military can handle him anyway they want. the general has him. i congratulate the general purity can have him. and his brother, also. we will find out. we will find out. he reported very inaccurate things. you will understand that, john, when you look at his report and look at what the exact words. fortunately, i had the words. otherwise we would've had a lot of people lying. fortunately we had transcripts of those calls. i think you guys will agree with that. wasn't it nice after they set these horrible things and made
2:02 pm
up these horrible horrible lies about what was said on the call, and i said here's the call. if i didn't have a transcript, it would've been my word against their word. there were many people on that call, mike pompeo. when i speak to the head of countries, presidents, prime ministers, et cetera. there are always a lot of people on the call. i imagine, i don't know that for a fact. i imagine that we have a lot of people on those calls. i wouldn't say it wrong anyway, but who would say it wrong when alcohol is loaded loaded up with -- you know, sometimes as many as 25 people. sometimes as many as three or four. there are always people on those calls. i fully know that. that was a perfect call and it wasn't reported. it was so terrible. that was a very nice call. that was a very friendly call. the president of ukraine stated very strongly that there was no pressure. there was no anything. there was nothing wrong.
2:03 pm
it was really a very sad state of affairs that the country waited, wasted that much time on nothing. i want to thank our three senators that are here for agreeing with me. you had one grandstand here. he has always been a grandstanding. oh, sure, oh, sure, absolutely are there always. [reporter question] >> president trump: that is up to them. he is over with the military. >> president trump: that will be up to the military. if you look at what happened, they are certainly -- i would imagine take a look at that. but, no, i think what he did was reported a false call. if you look at what he said. and i will tell you, one worse was, you looked at shifty schiff. he made up my conversation and we dropped the transcript, he almost had a heart attack.
2:04 pm
didn't he say eight quid pro quos? eight times i said the same thing according to shifty schi schiff. now you said once and use it again. we are talking about a man that i never even met before. now you say it a third time, a fourth time, a fifth time, seven times, eight times he said that i asked for the exact same thing in one call. after the third time, they would have to take you away. he is a sick person. schiff is a corrupt politician and a very sick person. totally made up. because he shielded -- which a lot of people didn't know. but because he is shielded by the halls of congress in terms -- he can say anything that he wants. he made up of a story that was total fiction. at the end he said don't call me, i will call you. that is a mob statement. a very famous statement in
2:05 pm
numerous movies, one in particular. that is a mob statement. he said that i said that. he said that i said eight times quid pro quo. there were no times quid pro quo. that whole thing was corrupt and a disgrace and mitt romney is a disgrace for voting against. he is a disgrace. anybody else? [reporter question] do you support that policy? is it as you said -- >> president trump: anything that we can do to cut down crime and get rid of drugs. when a man decides to go democrat, and he goes to a church, and he is practically crying and look like -- he is practically crying saying what a horrible thing he did. i think it is so disingenuous. you know what i'm talking about, fellows. that was so bloomberg. look, he is a lightweight. he has a lightweight. you will find that out. he's also one of the worst debaters i've ever seen.
2:06 pm
his presence is zero. he will spend is three, four, $500 million. maybe they will take it away. frankly, i would rather run against bloomberg that bernie sanders, because sanders has real followers, whether you like them or not, whether you agree with that part out. i think it is terrible but he says. but he has followers. bloomberg is buying his way in. we will find out what happens. when you watch -- go back to the church where he apologized for everything he ever did, practically. and he looked pathetic. our country doesn't need that kind of leadership. thank you all very much. it is doubling. it is mumbling. not pretty. but we will see how he does. you never know. you never know. the only time that you knew for sure was the trump campaign. trump was going to win. you can always turn it around. i think it's not going to be easy. i think he can turn it around. i think he has a shot.
2:07 pm
he's got probably almost as good of a shot as anyone. he is going to have to work. he is going to have to work very hard, much harder than they thought. when he first ran, i called him 1% joe, because every time he ran, he only had 1%. obama took him off the garbage heap. 1% joe, but now he is wild, 19% joe? he is doing better. it's going to be very interesting. i think we will have a very interesting democrat race. i think we'll have a very interesting election. our country is doing better than it has ever done. we rebuilt our military thanks for the people back here. we've taken care of our veterans at a level they have never been taken care of before. it is really something that we are very proud of. you look at the economy. we have the best economy that we have ever had. we have the best employment numbers we have ever had,
2:08 pm
african-american, asian american, hispanic-american. we are going to protect our second american, the democrats want to take away the guns. they want to destroy the second amendment. when you add it all up, i don't see how we lose. but you never know, it is politics, right, fellows? thank you all very much. >> thank you very much. >> all right, that was president trump talking about a variety of topics, marking the 2020 democrats before the polls close in new hampshire. welcome to "the five." right here in the granite state, another high stake contest and the race to the nomination. you just heard from president trump going out for his 2020 rivals. they take aim at him in their final pitch to voters. >> we are going to defeat the most dangerous president in the
2:09 pm
modern history of america, donald trump. >> i will be -- if i stand by and lose this country to donald trump one more year. >> this is our shot, our only shot to defeat donald trump. >> he is the enemy. he is the guy who is out there undercutting every democratic value. >> the president is not one to rest on his laurels. he decided to come to new hampshire and was here last night for a huge rally. take a look. we don't have it? okay, i thought we had it. because it was so good, i thought we had it. we are all here with me. am i right? do we have them? >> how are you doing? >> i could not see you, and i missed you so much. >> i'm wired up. i'm going to be so awake today. one of the reasons i wanted to show that, jessie, is because when president trump came here, he's basically in the hunt for
2:10 pm
four electoral college votes. he just missed it in 2016 by .4%. last night they had lots of voters come that had supported him. and then they had an additional 17% of people that were here last night who were voters that did not vote in 2016 and half of those were here in new hampshire. the trump campaign has been doing good. >> they will not take it for granted. they can identify people. 20% were democrats, 20% never even voted in the last election. they have a real army that they are identifying and not activating the base, but reaching out to new voters, minority voters, now his approval rating from nonwhite voters is up to 20%, a ten-point jump in this year alone. the man has been very blessed with great enemies. none of these democrats running for president as any breakaway speed. even if any of them start to get any kind of lead, they will not be able to pull away or put
2:11 pm
anybody else away, and here's why. it is not a winner-take-all situation. number two, if bernie starts winning, the never bernie forces are going to fight to the death until the convention. if a nonbernie guy gets in there, bernie will fight to the death to the convention. you will have a very badly broke. his strategy is very simple. this is a trump blue-collar boom, and these losers socialist week phony democrats, they are going to make us go broke and maybe kill us or both. >> wow, kill us even. i will show you a little bit of that trump rally. we have that sounds now. take a look. >> president trump: with your help on november 3rd, we are going to help defeat the radical socialist democrats. we're going to win new hampshire in a landslide.
2:12 pm
[cheers and applause] this is a truly incredible time for america. they always talk about the democrats, they have enthusiasm, right? we have so much more enthusiasm. it's is not even close. people are signing up left and right. but if you want to vote for a weak candidate tomorrow, go ahead and pick one. pick the weakest one. >> that is a good strategy, right? pick the weakest democrat. >> i think a lot of times the media does not understand these rallies. they are less political than they are fun. i know people that go to these things, it really is like woodstock for woodworkers or lollapalooza for longshoremen. it's people that get there and have a good time. the never trump filter don't seem to understand this. that is why they misdiagnose so many issues. that's why trump steals the spotlight from the democrats. you see life at their rallies. you don't see life among the democrats.
2:13 pm
there is more life at blockbuster video store than on the stage of democrats. that leads me to my comment about tonight in new hampshire. i think we are seeing the end of this electability myth that we keep hearing about, the most electable person whether it is marco rubio or jeb or hilary or biden. electability is like that hype that you hear before a movie and it will be turns out to be "cats." joe biden right now is "cats." once the movie goes away, everybody stops talking about it. meanwhile, when you're looking at trump, you are seeing a fantastic fun bar like "cheers." you're looking at the democrats and it's a bar that has not been built yet because no one can get along and figure out how to build it. >> and they are drinking milk there. we have a call from the media talking about democrats and how people in that party are a little worried. take a look at this. >> we have all talk to the
2:14 pm
voters. they are very concerned with our current field right now. >> they are beginning to have that feeling of a loser. joe biden is almost on fumes really. >> there is an unmistakable sense of fear among democrats particularly coming off of last week, fear of the president of being. >> how do they shake it off, juan? >> when you have a nominee, a lot of that will go away. it will be one-on-one and it's pretty clear. democrats know that their number one priority is defeating donald trump. to get back to what greg was talking about, i could not agree more. this is like wrestlemania or your favorite rock group comes to town. lots of people turn out just to have the experience, because it is fun. i think lots of people do that. i think trump of course uses these to troll -- not only the democrats but to troll the media, distracted, mocked,
2:15 pm
belittled. everyone buys into it because you have to cover at the president. let me remind you that according to "wall street journal" and nbc, biden is plus seven. for all we talk about biden in trouble, he is plus seven over trump, bloomberg plus nine. these are numbers coming from reputable places. i think today when you have two federal prosecutors quitting because the speech when nate decides to put pressure on the justice department, and they put pressure about sentencing on career prosecutors, i think america looks at this and says, you know, something is crazy going on right now and our country. >> we will get to greg's monologue and they will give you a chance to talk about whatever you want to talk about on the media side of things. when the media starts saying that your candidacy is in trouble, it starts to become a self-fulfilling prophecy. >> we saw joe biden skip town from new hampshire.
2:16 pm
just like hillary clinton did when she did not show up for her election night, nonvictory par party. juan, and swing districts, president trump needs to win in order to win again. he has a 52% approval rating. you can say that biden is out nationally by those percentage rating, but where the voting matters, president trump is winning on the issues. that is certainly something that is always overblown by the media's favorite candidate. as you notice, every single democrat has campaigned not necessarily against each other, but i get president trump and making the case that they are electable. bernie sanders is one of them. there was an op-ed that was published that was very critical of joe biden on be half of bernie. bernie came out and said i'm sorry that op-ed was published. if they are not allowing the narrative to drive how they think this thing should end up. >> indeed. all right, greg.
2:17 pm
>> can i do my monologue? try to control yourself. how bad do americans feel about life in america? if you listen to the media and their favorite democratic candidates, you would say bad, ugly bad. you would expect look out the window and see bread riots, what bernie calls a worker's paradise. the picture they paint and the reality lived by the rest of us diverge dramatically. that is what happens when you invented despair. take gallup's annual mood survey. as americans say they are better off now than a year ago, 74% predict they will do even better next year. if that is the most optimistic reading they have ever recorded. so why the great mood i missed the gloom and doom? we see the gloom and doomers for what they are. they both like colleges where they were brainwashed. while they paint and apocalypse with their bitter price, the economy surges with an amazing
2:18 pm
job and labor presents patient numbers. not just for some, but for all. women, blacks, teens, even never trumpers and democrats. it's easy to have promises that the left can never keep. another reason for the optimism out missed the tweets and taunts, people forget that trump is the cheerleader in chief. for years, he has been telling us how great america is. that optimism is contagious. so much so that it is reversing the negative charges of an anticapitalist i'm a anti-american press. solutions need not involve a blood or treasure, but by simply adjusting one's outlook. it turns out the power of positive thinking actually works. i will start tomorrow if there is one. so why do you think that optimism is so high when everyone is saying otherwise? >> i don't think that everyone is saying otherwise. i think it democrats running against b30 have to have a victim mentality when it comes
2:19 pm
to the argument that they are making. people in america are making more money and have more job opportunities or saying that i'm not a victim. i am reaping -- i have success. i'm reaping the rewards of my hard work and perseverance. i'm working in the gig economy. i think democrats thrive on a message of victimhood all of the time. it really only works when the economy is down and people feel like they need some benefit from the government to really succeed. if that doesn't really fly here. democrats are portrayed as weak, because that is the only thing they have to go on. whether it is their happiness or their job or employment, it doesn't really add up. >> i have a theory that americans in general see the glass as half-full but the left sees the glass as racist. it is like nothing can be done with that class or that country, because fundamentally, it is polluted. >> i lived in england. i know that you that if they are too. i used to say to peter.
2:20 pm
americans are glass half-full kind of people. it felt like the brits were glass half empty. if you asked them how they were going, not so bad. if you ask an american, i am good. it is a different outlook. it's interesting, president trump's inauguration speech was very much doom and gloom if you remember that. he skillfully figured out a way to say okay, i will let the free market work. he has not micromanaged his cabinet. the media is focused. they don't have any idea what is going on in any other agency. all of the deregulation is happening on a pace. the free market has been able to produce these results. i don't know if they will figure out a way to communicate that to these young people that believe that socialism is a way to go, that might be a good challenge for them to try to tackle in the second term. >> we have had a lot of good news, jesse. >> we have, what in particular? >> i would say this. i think socialism is for people
2:21 pm
who are lazy, jealous, and don't understand how the world works. the world works through competition. whenever you have socialism pop up, it fails because people don't compete. i read "like a new deal." they guarantee free college, free housing, free income. they raise taxes by trillions of dollars. what is that going to do to the workforce? they are going to stop competing and america dies. is that what socialism wants to do, destroy america? nor is it a sales pitch by radical democrats to get mpower on the backs of people who are uninformed and lazy and jealous? how are you going to have free health care if you couldn't even get obamacare off the ground? how are you going to have free housing when you can even put the homeless in homes? how are you going to have free college if i am supposed to pay my neighbors dumb sans tuition? the guy is going to fail out after the first semester. why am i paying for income and paying for their free college? i am supposed to pay for the job
2:22 pm
they are not going to get? it doesn't make any sense. the thing that makes the most sense is that bernie sanders is leading this charge. the guy has never done anything his whole political career, yet we pay his salary. literally, we have paid bernie to do nothing. >> juan, do you care to respond? >> you don't educate people, where you going to do? pay for them to be in jail or on unemployment? you're making the case that everything is great, reelect trump. i agree that the on employment rate is low, labor participation rate is high. here are other side of the coin in case you missed it. household debt has been surging. it is the highest right now that it has been says before the great recession going back to '08, '09. suicide rates are the highest since world war ii. the deficit is over $1 trillion. remember when republican said we have to be responsible?
2:23 pm
this is going to impact future generations. when you think about household debt, don't forget, half of americans that if they have a $400 bill, not only would they have to go to friends, neighbors, or credit cards, some said they just could not pay it. that is the reality. think about health care, 34 million americans. that is 1 of 6 americans by 50% say that they know someone that has not been able to pay a medical bill, not able to pay for prescription drugs. that is why they died. you talk about that from the democratic perspective, not just trump's spending everything is great, reelect me. >> the gallup poll of american saying that they felt good. i'm telling you -- >> they say oh, he tells people everything is great. everything is great. if you are not great, you're not in the club. >> we want you in the club. half glass full. >> you say everything is racist
2:24 pm
if you say, hey, america, i believe in america. in america, we can do a better job of taking care of our children, elderly, and sick him and you say that's racist. >> i didn't say that. if you want to believe that you heard that -- >> i think i heard it. >> coming up, how bad will new hampshire be for joe biden? he has already left the state. that's next. when managing diabetes you can't always stop for a fingerstick. with the freestyle libre 14 day system, a continuous glucose monitor, you don't have to. with a painless, one-second scan you can check your glucose with a smart phone or reader so you can stay in the moment. no matter where you are or what you're doing. ask your doctor for a prescription for the freestyle libre 14 day system. you can do it without fingersticks.

2:29 pm
we have and head down to south carolina. having lost nine primaries and win only one. this is just the beginning. we have an entire nation to vote yet. >> i am not giving up on new hampshire. don't poke that in my face, okay, buddy? >> even though biden is still on the ropes, he's talking about trump. >> i refused to suggest any democrat can lose. i think that we could run mickey mouse against this president and have a shot. >> the president hitting back a few minutes ago. >> president trump: it is doubling, it is mumbling. not pretty, but we will see how he does. you never know. the only time you knew for sure it was the trump campaign. trump was going to win. don't forget that when he ran, i called him 1% gel. every time he ran, he only got 1%. now he is 19% joe? he has done a lot better and made a lot of progress. >> greg, well, mickey mouse
2:30 pm

2:31 pm
bottomless energy. >> what is it say to you that he is leaving and going to south carolina before the vote is finished? >> strategically, i think it is smart. if he were to stay here tonight, if he goes to his watch party and everyone sticks a microphone in his face and says, when are you going to drop out? when are you going to drop out? when you're going to drop out? instead, they have a ready-made answer. we are moving on to south carolina. you heard him say that they have a long way to go. one of the worst messaging points from him today it was in that clip that you just showed about mickey mouse. this entire election, the reason he got in is because he said he is the only democrat that could beat president trump. now he is saying that all of them could. that doesn't necessarily mean that you should win. >> i completely agree with dana. his ability to leave new hampshire behind creates ads for his fellow democrats and president trump. if he is bailing on
2:32 pm
new hampshire voters and not giving them a chance to celebrate with him or not waiting for the votes to come in, i would he not bail or be reliable on anything else? strategically, his campaign has bank on south carolina. he knows that he has to go down there and defend what he sees as his territory. michael bloomberg and bernie sanders are catching up with him and his demographic. this has been his entire campaign narrative of where they're going to begin and their path to victory. i can see why he would go down there. their argument essentially is new hampshire is a battle in the long process of the primary war. they are confident that they can go down and defend their territory. >> juan, how bad is it on the biden campaign? are we making too much of this? >> i think you are. president trump said he can come back. i think i can see it, too. the long term strategy has always been south carolina and nevada. the problem here is i think
2:33 pm
bernie sanders is going to do very well to not according to every poll and all indications i have seen on the ground. bernie sanders is the one with energy. not only that, i think bernie sanders has the potential now to run a table. i think he is picking up speed in south carolina. i don't think he is going to win there, but i think he is picking up speed noticeably in a nevada with latino voters. i think a lot of people have overlooked bernie. i don't know how you can do it at this point. he really has a lot of momentum, not only from iowa, but here. my sense is, you've got to also think about bloomberg as a factor. i think we will discuss that shortly. at this moment, what you're looking at is the battle for that middle lane to go against the bernie sanders who has taken control of the most energetic, and other majority but the most energetic sector of the democratic base, the left wing. >> as you mentioned, bloomberg

>> michael bloomberg in major trouble after an audio clip resurfaced where he is defending stop and frisk. >> murderers and murderers and murder victims, you can just xerox it and pass it out to all cops. they are male -- people say, oh, my god, you are arresting kids. that is true, why? because the cops and minoritie minorities -- >> the species campaign saying that he inherited the policy and is already apologized for it.
2:39 pm
here is president trump's reaction. >> president trump: when a man as with stop and frisk his whole life and decides to go democrat and goes to a church and he's practically and looked like -- is practically crying saying what a horrible thing he did is so disingenuous. you know what i'm talking about, fellows. that was so bloomberg. look, he is a lightweight. he is a lightweight. you will find that out. >> president trump has been a supporter of "stop-and-frisk." he is talk to police about that. bloomberg canceled as a result of his statement? >> i will criticize him, but i will also defend him. that was a bad way to put it about the xeroxing. it was on elegant to put it mildly. what is missing on the story is, what was the reality like before this was instituted. where their meetings where minority citizens and family members play out for help in a

neighborhood that was plagued by crime? they wanted their kids to go out and walk home from the supermarket. their cruel irony here for people who were just trying to make a minority neighborhood safer, they can be recast as specifically targeting minorities simply because it is in that community, when actually what you are trying to do is save people's lives. that could be twisted in turn to, you are going after black kids. >> a lot of this has been reaction and claimed that african-americans monolithically about the issue of crime. the cdc says the number one cause of death for african-american men from ages . how do you draw the distinction to make the communities safer about not raising at the way that michael bloomberg did?
2:41 pm
