that shirt. rob: i don't like that shirt. it's a valentine's day shirt. jillian: she wouldn't like that anyway. rob: you wouldn't want to get too dewey on valentine's day. that's not a good start. jillian: have a good day, everyone. steve: it is 6:00 in new york city. we start with a fox news alert. two flights carrying americans off a quarantine cruise ship in japan land in the united states overnight. >> hundreds of passengers spend the next two weeks in military bases nationwide. griff: aishah ha has any in the newsroom. some of them tested. >> flights didn't go as planned. at least 14 americans as you said now have the 14 virus it wasn't discovered until passengers were already on their way to the airport along with everyone else. first plane landed at travis air force base at 2:00 this morning.

second plane landing just a little bit ago about a half hour ago. san antonio. we don't know which plane or perhaps both have those new infected patients. but, we do know all 300 passengers will be under quarantine for the next two weeks. as for those passengers with the virus now, the state department explains that these individuals were moved in the most expeditious and safe manner to a specialized containment area on that evacuation aircraft. now, this is exactly why a lot of americans there did not want to leave the crews liner in the first place. about 400 of them have been quarantined on the diamond princess cruise ship off the coast of japan since february 5th. 46 americans were already infected. american lawyer and his wife refused to evacuate explaining to our neil cavuto that they felt safer aboard that ship. >> you know, they are getting off the ship to be in another space. but under this circumstance the offer is we're going to

put you on buses with other people who haven't completed their quarantine and have not been tested for the virus. >> now, there are about 71,000 confirmed cases worldwide. more than 1700 people have already died from this disease. back to you. steve: all right. thank you very much. >> you bet. steve: very troubling. lisa: i would say so, yeah. i was reading this article in foreign policy but how the incompetence of the chinese government has made this so much worse. steve: to contain. lisa: even the way they treated the original whistleblower who had warned his colleagues, the doctor in wuhan warned his colleagues, they reprimanded him by the police. made him sign a document saying he was spreading lies. everyone should read it. it was quite interesting. griff: people who go on crews typically family. one person sick, one is not the stress and impact of this is just now playing

between 18 and 49, without children or dependents, who get food stamps for more than three months, must go to school, receive job training or volunteer to get food stamps. so, in other words, if you want that, you are going to have to work for it. do you think that's a good idea? >> well, it's absolutely a good idea. there is an old book called the bible that says a man shall not eat if he doesn't work. let's remember that under bill clinton we had welfare-to-work. obama suspended it. and now we have got people who are working again and it's a social contract. you should work in exchange for that benefit. absolutely and i'm glad for those families. steve: all right. mark, let's also talk about michael bloomberg. he is surging. he is also, you know, spending a boat load of dough on tv commercials all across the country. here is part of his labor plan. he would like to see $15 minimum wage, 12 weeks family paid leave.

seven days of paid sick leave and prohibit right-to-work laws. you know, when you look at the states, six states in the district of columbia have already passed minimum wage bills. what's happened in those states which could be a precursor so what could happen across the country? >> well, absolutely, steve. first, let me say 61% of u.s. economists polled oppose the minimum wage increase. mr. stop and frisk bloomberg's policies are bad for black people and they're bad for women. his nanny state mentality for freedom and growth in america. in los angeles, in seattle and in san francisco, they have tried this hike and respectfully, 3%, 2%, 1% employment has decreased. reality is that the 15% -- i'm sorry the $15 minimum increase does not work. it puts small businesses out of business in many cases. because they support

another story. sending a reporter off talking to you. media issues. one of them was while many were watching the daytona 500. others were signing a petition urging attorney general barr to resign over the sentencing of roger stone. it appears is that 8 of the signatures were media analysts. your reaction? >> well, let's just say bill barr is probably laughing at these idiots right now. they are former doj people for a reason. if you look back under the obama administration and their hiring practice. christian adams has done some great work on this when he was over at doj. although you are legally not allowed to ask party affiliation when you hire people for those jobs, griff. it was clear based on the resumes of people obama's hired in the doj attorneys and otherwise. they were hard core leftist a lot of them. it shouldn't be surprising to any of them now that they are former. and by the way they should keep their mouths quiet. nothing illegally happening right now.

correspondent pierre thomas last week, barr said very clearly that the u.s. attorney for washington, d.c. came in and said i'm thinking seven to nine years there are other circumstances we can talk about later. barr said i think that's too much. we're going to talk about it tomorrow. so then he is watching the news, and he sees that this has made news. that it's going to be up to nine years and barr goes that's not what we talked about. we need to assemble the staff first thing in the morning and we need to clarify our statement. so barr was against the seven to nine years from the get-go. but then the president put out a tweet the next day and it looked to some as if the president was trying to influence the attorney general, when, in fact, he had already made up his mind it was too many years. griff: it's interesting because we had the last hour dan bongino talking about this. and he made this analogy of stepping on a rake and hitting you in a face and giving you some of that perspective that's a good point, steve. ultimately judge amy behrman

and it says that it's going to be awful hard to go out and win those, the base support of the democratic party. lisa: i am so, steve, you had mentioned earlier if bloomberg ends up on the debate stage on the 19th this week. it will be fascinating if he is. but, biden is trying to go after bloomberg on somebody stop and frisk and things like that. as you mentioned he wants to secure that african-american vote in south carolina. a lot of it, all the top contenders all have their own issues with this. you have joe biden, he supported the 1994 federal crime bill. he helped write it. that was an issue for hillary clinton in 2016. amy klobuchar's record former prosecutor has come under scrutiny as well. and then you look at pete buttigieg who has had racial tensions in south bend. it will be interesting to see if any of those other frontrunners try to go after bloomberg on this and how they approach it. steve: i want to see bloomberg on the stage. apparently he has until tomorrow to qualify on the state or national poll,

to face justice here, and we went through a big trial in 2017. two of them got the life sentences, five others got sentences that we weren't really happy with, 35 years down to 12 years. as a matter of fact the one that got 12 years will be released august of 2021 but at least, they're all convicted and that was justice, and now, we get hit with this , that the murder charge of the agent has been vacated or dismissed by the appellate court so we're going to challenge that. i do want to mention that the federal law enforcement officers association has been great in helping us to approach congress to amend this law, to make sure we put it on there that it doesn't matter where these murders occur. we need to protect our agents that are serving in mexico and a broad, especially in mexico because what message are we spending down there to these terrorist cartels that it's
