make him look great. for two hours tomorrow night on nbc. he is going to be essentially a piñata for all the other democrats on the stage who are going to remind him about his comments about stop and frisk and farm are farmers and g minority men not knowing how to behave in the workplace. pete: he needed one more poll and it looked like he got it. this marist poll came out moments ago. here is the breakdown amongst voters there in nevada. sanders 31%. excuse me, this is nationwide poll. this which is amazing when you consider that biden just months ago was the national frontrunner. sanders 31%. bloomberg 19%. biden 15%. warren 12%. klobuchar 9% and buttigieg 8%. ainsley: this is what happens when you start to see rise in the polls you know backlash is coming.

they are going to definitely be under fire. on the debate stage they are going back and pulling out different soundbites of things that he said. this is the latest one from 2011. this is what he said about african-americans and latinos. steve: when he was mayor. >> there is in enormous cohort of black and latino males let's say 16 to 25 that don't have jobs, don't have any prospects, don't know how to find jobs. don't know that -- what their skill sets are. don't know how to behave in the workplace. steve: all right. let's bring in charles payne. host of making money on fox business. charles, what do you make of the former mayor talking on pbs. he was promoting a multi-million-dollar young men's initiative and he said that young minority men don't know how to behave in the workplace. >> i find it interesting. if he ever went in my household he would know i knew how to behave because

my mother taught me how to behave. mayor bloomberg is an elitist that looks down on everyone. he should tell you how large your soda should be. he has a particular disdain for black people. i have a 23-year-old son. the notion that if he walks outside he should be considered a dangerous animal before a human being. his civil liberty protected under the constitution. he coulding be thrusted against the wall simply because he is black? it kill me. really blowing my mind all these fake, phoney democrats and these fake phoney black leaders who have called donald trump racist for years because of comments not actions. comments. because he did what other landlords did in the 1970s. i'm not saying it was good. but it caused poor people, particularly blacks not to be allowed in at will his buildings. that's not good. not the same as unleashing round up 700,000 people in

saying hey, not so fast, money bags? ainsley: going to have to come up? >> it will have to come up. you are referencing pete buttigieg. you know, not too long ago he was the golden candidate. kamala harris after the first debate she came back in second one and her hypocrisy was pointed out. ainsley: what if he apologizes tomorrow night will that change? pete: he already has. >> let me tell you something that's really interesting. in 1982 george wallace won the elective office in alabama. and i was shocked. and i asked my mom i said, you know, there is a lot of black people in alabama. why vote for george wallace? folks that don't remember george wallace was behind serious evil stuff against black people. there was a is assassination attempt. he came h. a come to jesus moment. he changed. he apologized to the black community in alabama and they voted for him.

that it was a dangerous time for the economy. i think perhaps the federal reserve would get more credit for creating essentially creating $3 trillion out of nowhere and pumping that into the system. you know, but, i think it's an odd argument to suggest that what's happening right now under president trump was authored by obama, even as a democrat. you are essentially saying then policies don't matter. the removal of regulatory hurdles don't matter. lower taxes don't matter. you are damaging the antithesis we need in this country lower regulations and lower taxes. the survival to growth mode. to say distinct different things. here is where you can see it happens. immediately after president trump was elected, you saw a couple things. the small bills confidence number, that month in november soared. it skyrocketed. the next month you went to

demand out there. the key is that the demand is there, i think it will stay there until they resolve that issue. iit is a message to the american consumers, to the chambers of commerce and business round table who fought against the tariffs. perhaps we should diversify our supply chain and perhaps we should take some of that back into this country. just maybe because every four or five years we have a crisis that shuts down our supply chain is it really economically worth it you have taken all these jobs from americans and ship them overseas. think about it chamber of commerce. think about it. steve: i thought tim apple sat down with the president and they were going to open up some sort of a plant here. >> working on a plant in wisconsin and they are bringing some manufacturing back. i mean the whole business apparatus. they fought so hard against this. against these tariffs that they actually stopped investing in this country as a protest. and if you want to g.d.p. number hasn't been higher. thank american businesses who are so upset that it wasn't enough that they got

the fastest tax break in history and making trillions of dollars under president trump, they want even more. how dare you mess around with the supply chain. let's keep it all in china so we can make more money. this is a good case to say maybe, just maybe, there are other reasons for diversifying your supply chain. ainsley: where would you diversify? >> some bring back to america? why not? other places make sure it's in places where countries could not hold us hostage. as the world gets better, the communication lines get better you could diversify even broader than that. pete: we know who china is and what their am bill of ambite and has nothing to do with friendly. >> it's fine. we like competing. we all watched the daytona 500500 yesterday, right? we know what america is all about. we want it to be fair situation. it would be dumb to give away our prestige.

steve: 6:21 in new york city. you probably saw it last night. nascar fans across the country praying for ryan newman fiery crash at the finish line daytona 500. he is currently in serious condition. ainsley: the crash the reality check for the winner of the race danny hamlin who spoke out to rick reichmuth. pete: rick joins us with that reaction. good morning.

rick: good morning, yeah. such a scary end to this race. the fans are all here at the end watching to see hot winner is and you see that kind of a crash. i will tell you there was a silence fell across the entire stands in all of the crowd worried for the driver. at the moment not even sure which car it was that had had this dramatic crash. at the end of the race the winner always comes into victory lane danny hamlin the winner now a three-time winner of this race which puts him into a pretty small list of people. only four people won it two years in a row. is he one of them. all of that celebration quite muted because of the worries for ryan newman. take a listen what he had to say about newman. >> these races get so crazy at the end. you know something is bound to happen. we don't like to see them upside down by any means. special getting hit while is he upside down. that's the scary part. we are praying for him and his family and hopefully everything is okay with him.

rick: it's been 19 years today, in fact, since dale earnhardt died right at this exact race. since then they have done so much to protect the drivers doing a lot of the engineering to the cars, the stadiums and walls they have shock protectors across all of the walls inside the track here. and i think fans have gotten used to really spectacular crashes and people walking away. i would tell you this one though really scared everyone. the race ended at 7:48. i actually took some video here. i was right there on pit road this video and saw the crash. we are used to seeing some of these crashes. this one scared people it. took over 2 hours and 15 minutes before nascar released any kind of a statement about ryan newman's condition and during that time, i will tell you a lot of fans went to the hospital saying lots of prayers and worried so much for ryan newman. it certainly changed the feel of the end of this race. 10:04 last night nascar releasing the statement that

he was in serious condition but that his injuries are not life-threatening that certainly was such wonderful news for all the nascar community. guys? ainsley: it's amazing they can withstand that how do they create these cars to protect drivers so well. he was driving 195 miles per hour. in the opening statements, when the president and you were there when the president was there on sunday. the president was talking about the courage of these drivers and the technology behind the cars. rick: yeah, they have engineers that are analyzing constantly every element of the car. and then every crash, every piece of the car that might fall off anywhere into the track here. and they're constantly working on safety features. these drivers in the past really up until dale earnhardt's death here at this race at that point there was not a lot of safety in it. since then these drivers are so completely stabilized in their car and they have such protection all around them.

and they continue to make modifications over and over to ensure that these drivers are safe in these kinds of crashes. that said, 195 miles per hour in this kind of a crash and then ending on the top -- upside down and it took them a long time to get ryan newman out of that car. this is one that they thought maybe their string of run out for another year, however, things seem to be okay. don't know the condition fully of ryan newman just that his injuries aren't life-threatening. pete: the assumption is he was going to win that race, right? rick: well, denny hamlin had led most of the laps right at the very end ryan newman ghim first place. hard to say what would have happened right there at the end but that little spin and eventual flip allowed denny hamlin to slide. in if you are in that last little pack anybody can win because of what everybody knows you are in that last minute they are going to make some aggressive moves you don't really know

truly horrified as we are when these things happen. once you convince somebody that it is their moral duty to attack people, to degrade people that think differently than do you, then you can't really be surprised when it happens. they are not and quite frankly they don't care. steve: when you always put the shoe on the other foot, if this was a republican who assaulted some democrats, either at a voter registration thing or slapped somebody with bernie sanders hat, that would be the big -- there would be a town hall right now on a couple of channels that i can think of talking about, you know, these republicans rises up against the democrats. >> well, the loving and tolerant left is the biggest myth that we are experiencing, especially in the last five years. we know that they are anything but. we know quite frankly they are not going to cover these things and not talk about them and discourage them. we have elected officials if you will remember, maxine waters who came out and said it really is our duty to heckle trump supporters and those in the administration. she said that just a couple years ago.

so now we are seeing an increase in and as we get closer to the election i fear it's only going to get worse. especially those of us in the media and those who have a voice and those who aren't really in the media spotlight they have to worry when they are just out there supporting their president and it's really a shame. pete: speaking of a shame, of the new bail reform law. steve: working great. pete: working fantastic. the idea that if you erase the requirements for bail, it makes -- it equals things out for people who can't afford it. it also means that there is a revolving door for criminals. one of these criminals is speaking out. he is at 139-time offender. his name is charles berry. he has been released four times already under the new bail law. this is what he says about the law. he said bail reform? it's lit. it's the democrats. the democrats know me and the republicans fear me. you can't touch me. i can't be stopped. when a criminal is saying, this what does it say about your law? >> i hope the democrats are

pretty proud of themselves. because they now have repeat offenders felons and thugs thanking for their laws and reform. this whole notion that somehow eliminating bail and felon friendly help low income and poor offenders. such a myth. you are hurting those community. as we see with this person or 139th arrest. they continue to repeat their offenses and oftentimes it's in those more poor or lower income communities that they are doing repeat offenses. in this case stealing from people. so we really have to be asking the democrats in new york and california and across the country who are they trying to protect with their felon-friendly laws. their sanctuary cities and all of these things that they're doing to really coddle, aid and abet crime and what about the decent law abiding americans where do we fall on priority list because it doesn't seem like we are very high. steve: democrats are talking about tweaking the law. ainsley: that guy has been arrested 139 times. all right. thank you so much, tomi.

existing resources and existing authority not only from the department of homeland security but also from dod. dod has been a great partner in this. we are securing that border. we are building that border wall system and we're looking forward to finishing those miles later this year. steve: before did you go, a couple stories in the new york press about how the department of homeland security is going to crack down on some of the sanctuary cities across the country, including new york, new jersey across the way. with kind of a swat team that would be dispatched to these different communities. can you explain what they would be doing? >> sure. this is just additional resources that ice is using from within the department of homeland security. so this n. this case cbp officers are come in. what we found in these sanctuary jurisdictions is that local law enforcement does not work with the department. so what used to take one or two officers going into a jail setting and picking up an individual that's on a final order of removal, we now have to go into communities with many, many

he sounds pretty good. so, he has risen dramatically and it's all fueled by money. now, the question will be as we get into the actual debates, what happens to him? i'm actually working on a podcast that just uses bloomberg's own words in his -- you get him personally saying stuff that's weird. and, you know, he attacks farmers, he attacks ethnic groups. you go down this whole list of things that where you think that probably not really clever. and i think the race for bloomberg may end up being the tv advertising bloomberg versus the shoot your mouth off bloomberg and that might be a very interesting contest. ainsley: what does this say about iowa and new hampshire? does the caucus, do the primaries there really matter? because you have got, as steve was saying mayor pete and amy klobuchar, they are behind bloomberg and bloomberg skipped those states. steve: klobuchar is in fourth. i made a mistake. >> i think what it says

first of all when you have somebody come in very different than trump. trump spent a lot less money than for example jeb bush who had raised $103 million. bloomberg just came in with so much cash that it made any place irrelevant. and if is he willing to double down and triple down, he could easily spend over a billion dollars just to get to the nomination. now, whether or not it's possible because, you know, advertising at some point seizes to lose its effectiveness. i mean, you see your 300th ad you kind of get it. and as other people surface things he said. the question becomes authenticity. the american people are pretty educated about when tv commercials are phoney and when they are real. that's part of what bloomberg is going to have. i think from a standpoint of a buttigieg or klobuchar or for that father elizabeth warren. the challenge they have got is have you this billionaire over here who is just

bought it the last time. he spent about $200 per vote, which is, i think, the all-time american record. but, nonetheless, he served for 12 years. it was a relatively corruption-free, relatively effective period in terms of the city's prosperity. so, he can handle a pretty big job pretty controversial and pretty political. my impression is, he is practicing right now for the debate tomorrow night. the key for the other candidates is to recognize that they don't collectively go after him, and if they don't bring up all these things that are beginning to surface, and make him answer for them, they are just going to get drowned. the only person right now who could play with him is bernie sanders, who has a big enough base and bernie is the only one actually advertising in the super tuesday states, but i think bernie is insofar for 10 million and i think this number may be wrong. but i think that bloomberg
