they will be casting their votes. they want to try and not duplicate what happened in iowa, that disaster. it looks like officials have things under control. they made history, voting for the first time with early voting, more than 75,000 voters went to the polls earlier this week, almost tied the total for 2016 which was 84,000. we'll see what kind of turnout we get here this go-round. all the candidates are making their final arguments for why no they should vote for them. >> when we stand up together, they ain't going to stop us. >> i don't know about a woman, but i'll tell you elizabeth warren can beat donald trump. >> the good news is the field is narrowing, the better news is you're all taking really closer looks at the other guys now. they're not bad folks, they're just not democrats. >> reporter: remember, bloomberg is not on the ballot but his problems continue here in the

countdown. it may be described as caucus chaos. >> i've been to one. i wen went four years ago in nea to the democratic caucus and it is chaotic. the caucuses are tough. donald trump is also predicting it's going to be quite chaotic. watch this. >> they say they're going to have a lot of problems tomorrow. i hate to tell you this. i don't know. have you heard? i hear their computers are all messed up just like they were in iowa. they're not going to be i'll to count their he vote. they'll tell you about health care, they're going to tell you about our military and the jet fighters and missiles and rockets but they can't count votes. they just can't count them. they can't count votes. but they're saying they may not be able to do it again. how are they doing in iowa? was that two weeks ago? they say we're getting close. they're not getting close. they'll never know.

i hear the same thing could happen tomorrow. i hope it doesn't, actually. >> if you remember, the iowa caucuses had set president trump up for a perfect week a couple weeks ago. iowa was a complete disaster. he and other republicans were out there saying look, if you can't run a caucus, how are you going to run health care. the next night he had a state of the union which he delivered a really impressive speech that was well received by independents and viewers alike and then he was acquitted on wednesday. it set him up for a perfect week. of courses hoping nevada ends up being as chaotic and he can continue with the theme of how can you run a country or health care if you can't run a caucus. >> they're chaotic to begin with. they've got 75,000 early votes, which will be tabulated on an ipad at each location to count the first ballot and the second choice goes to the second ballot and it's a mixture of human people moving from place to place and people on an ipad

that debate was something to watch. bloomberg had high expectations, didn't meet them by anybody from i've heard or read. from sanders' point of view, how is this going to play out? >> it's obvious. i'm sure even mayor bloomberg wasn't impressed with his own performance. before folks start celebrating too quickly, there's another debate next week and he has another opportunity to get better. every candidate on the stage what has performed poorly at one time or another. the last debate was certainly something different. i think bernie sanders made a point about trump chewing him up and spitting him out. trump thinks he can chew up person ben as well and spit him out. he thinks he can have anybody object thonthe stage on his pla. trump is going to give anybody hell, just my personal opinion. >> there's also this, the washington post, this is the headline from the washington

post, it says bernie sanders briefed by u.s. officials that russia's trying to help his presidential campaign. bernie sanders sort of raised suspicion about the timing of this. do you? >> this is -- the hypocrisy of it all every story they run saying russia is trying to help trump, they should run the same story to say that russia is trying to help bernie sanders. at some point we have to be fair about this. obviously we know that russia being involved is no secret. we're well aware of that. it is troubleing to say that it's the truth when it comes to trump but yet when it comes to bernie sanders it's a consistent exiconspiracy. my opinion, democrats, you're slip is showing. either it's true or is it conspiracy or another hypocrisy. i wasn't impressed with his response to be quite honest to you. i think we need truth on how we're going to deal with the russian messaging this season. >> russia's been trying to

the jury that unanimously -- that suggested that there's these unanimous verdicts were reached on the lesser three counts. >> joining us you now with insight is trial attorney brian klagel. hi, brian. >> good morning. >> why is the jury deadlocked right now. >> the jury is deadlocked on pretty sexual you assault charges. those are harder charges to prove because prosecution has to prove that weinstein committed a first degree rape of at least two women. so that's harder to prove. and i think what the jury is signaling here is that they have, i believe, a guilty verdict on the first degree rape against ms. mann, third degree rape against ms. mann and sexual you assault against ms. hailey. can i tell you why i think that is? >> please. >> i think it is because think about it, if the jury had found not guilty on the first degree rape charge against ms. mann,

there would be no reason for the jury to deliberate for an extra day about the preed tr the pred. they would have come back not guilty on the predatory assault. the prosecution said, keep deliberating. the defense said we'll take the partial verdict. >> here's more from the weinstein camp spokesperson. they said to speculate on the verdict now would be premature and a mistake. they would believe that you're making a mistake to try to dig into the minds of this jury which is effectively they've decided on three but the higher two, they're still mixed. the judge had told them you're supposed to determine the higher two before you make determinations on the lower three charges. are they ignoring the judge? are they following the rules? >> what happened here is the jury comes back and says hey, look, we can't reach a verdict on predatory sexual assault and the judge issued what's called anil len charge which is, look, you've got to get back in there and try to reach a verdict on

these two counts. i don't believe that they have to reach a verdict on the predatory sexual you assault before the other three charges. these are the more serious charges. make no mistake about it. if weinstein is convicted of the first degree rape which i think he will, that's a mandatory minimum sentence of five years and that could go up to 25 years and on the sexual assault, there's a minimum of one to two years. that can go up to seven years. so at the end of the day, i mean, i think weinstein is going to be going from hollywood casting couch to a jail house bunk bed. >> this is just process right now, ultimately, we'll get a verdict in due time but we're waiting until monday for now. brian, thank you very much for your insight. >> have a great weekend. >> all no fun to talk about, no matter what. >> yeah. >> coming up, defense may win -- defense. defense may win champions but offense wins elections and that's hard to do without serious cash.

♪ money. >> a very fitting tune as we roll into halfway through the first hour of "fox & friends" on this saturday and ahead of the most competitive primaries of the election, some 2020 democrat hopefuls appear to be running low on cash. biden who used to be the frontrunner has $7 million on hand, buttigieg just shy of that, klobuchar, 2.9 million and warren has 2.3 million left. how will this change the course of the race. our political panel is here, alexander will c'kes, john thoms and robert patilo. alexander, i'll start with you. when you've got bloomberg in the race and super tuesday looming, those numbers feel very small for democrats. >> they definitely do. it's more salt in the wound for iowa. think of all the money these candidates poured into iowa,

only to have no bounce come out of it for any of them. i do think the 2016 election showed us the limits of money and politics because of course hillary clinton vastly outspent president trump for president trump to ultimately succeed. you have bloomberg who has spent millions and millions of dollars to get eviserated on the debate stage last year. bloomberg is clearly leading the cash race, the democrats will have to try to scramble to get the narrative back. >> it may underscore the limit of money and politics but you still need money in politics. >> i tell my candidates when running campaigns, you don't need the most money but you've got to have enough, enough to compete. the la media market alone as we go into super tuesday, you could spend 1 million a week in tv ads and that's not shock and awe. that's just getting your message out. it was so desperate for elizabeth warren in the month of january, she had to take out a loan for $400,000 to make payroll. the candidates are like sputtering into super tuesday.

>> robert, how dire is this for democrats? i mean, you could mow through that kind of money real quick and then have nothing on the biggest day in the calendar, super tuesday. >> i think what we are seeing is that the money primary is doing something that the voting primary hasn't been able to do, which is to narrow down the field. after nevada and after south carolina, we're going to see the field narrow. people aren't going to be able to make payroll. we'll be able to get down to a two to three person debate where we are talking about issues, talking about the things that american voters care about, we're not just doing sound bites and we're getting into policy issues heading into super tuesday. any other election cycle, elizabeth warren campaign would have been running ads nationwide or at least in the primary about what -- you're not seeing those on tv, it shows how desperate they are for cash. >> bloomberg is highlighting his lackluster performance, trying to make it look good.

elizabeth warren as a signal of desperation is saying i will take -- i will not reject pac money. she ran a campaign saying no outside money. now she's willing to accept it. how do you explain that kind of flip-flop. >> it's the bloomberg effect. bloomberg is the candidate who is driving up the media market prices, he's the candidate who is making it clear that you're not able to nickel and dime, get five and 10 dollar donations to compete. i think elizabeth warren may want to find a wine cave that she was criticizing for fund raising. >> they were shaking their head vigorously on this one. >> this is typical of the left hypocrite call. they want to abolish the electoral college in favor of the popular vote. unless it suits them, they're

flier to hand people, lawn signs only. >> wall street journal had an article the other day. only candidates who are spending money on super tuesday, bernie sanders, tom steyer and michael bloomberg. i think what people are missing, is if bernie sanders comes in first tonight, he heads into south carolina with serious wind on his back. he is in second. he looks great in california right now where he could get the lion's share of the delegates there if other candidates don't get above 15% state-wide, so bernie sanders may end up being the guy and head into the convention either with majority or plurality. >> at the debate, everyone trained their fire on michael bloomberg because he's the new guy in the race. sanders benc benefited it seemsa great deal from that. on 60 minutes, sanders trained his focus on michael bloomberg. here's what he had to say.

and spitting him out. president trump thinks he can have anybody on the stage on his plate. we have to be careful how we say who trump can go against in the dathedebate, because trump is gg to give everybody hell. >> bloomberg had the worst debate he could possibly have. i think one of the more memorable moments was when elizabeth warren challenged him about these nondisclosure agreements and now all of a sudden bloomberg has put out this statement that says i've done a lot of reflecting on this issue over the past few days and a i decided that as long as i'm running the company, we won't offer confidentiality agreements to resolve claims of sexual harassment or misconduct going forward. it is imperative that when problems occur workplaces not only address the specific incidents but the culture and practices that led to those incidents and the leaders must

act. the bottom line is, he agreed to release three women from these non-p disclosures. we don't know if there are 3,000 or there are six. we don't know. but the idea that he is going to release these three is an interesting dynamic. >> michael bloomberg's biggest problem is michael bloomberg. i mean, the guy's a terrible candidate. watch him on stage. go back and watch the footage from wednesday's debate g watch him talk for five minutes. the moment of the night in the debate was elizabeth warren came in with bloomberg, like a wrecking ball, and just tkoedo-d the guy. watch this. >> it's just not good enough. michael bloomberg needs to do a blanket release so that all women who have been muzzled by nondisclosure agreements can step up and tell their side of the story. if he wants to be the democratic nominee, and he wants to be the president of the united states, and he's going to have to be

what's your prediction of whether they can get the vote counted? >> well, i think my first prediction is that like the last few days, that we are going to come out victorious from this week and from today. the president is doing very well here and as we know, there's been a little chaos between iowa and new hampshire and they've tried to shuffle the decks here to try to make sure they get the votvote counted and last night y said they're not sure we'll have the votes tonight. there's a lot on the line. if i had to predict, i think they're going to get it right but it could be interesting. >> speak to the critique of the president, they want government run health care, they want to control our economy through things like the green new deal but when it comes to something as simple as registering voters, bringing them up and counting them, can't seem to make that happen. isn't this a demonstration of

how the limits of how much you can control the outcome of things? >> well, look, i think it's a perfect example here on the west, one of the unifying things is we do not want government controlling our lives and so this is a perfect example, such a small s task, they can't do well. your viewers know, bernie sanders is likely to win our state today. and can you imagine how off-pitch he is, where not only the national economy but here in nevada our economy is absolutely booming. we've been one of the roaring states minus of course the great recession for a couple decades now and so this guy says he wants to overthrow our entire system. i think he's not going to fly here. which is why i think that the president is going to be able to win nevada ultimately. we know it's an incredibly close race here in nevada in 2016 and fortunately a lot of things have changed that i think are going to allow us to win our great state. >> yes. socialism is a tough message to

an audience that's skeptical of big government. i have to get your answer to this last question. you're a navy vet, iraq war veteran, thank you for your service. you've seen as many have a deal reached with the taliban, there's now a seven day, what they're hoping will be a pause in violence to demonstrate good faith. are you optimistic we get a good outcome in afghanistan? >> well, look, these are tough battles. we've been in them a long time, both in iraq and afghanistan, and i think people are-- have been war weary for a long time. i applaud the administration for making the effort. of course we have to be skeptical. this is a tough area of the l world, an area where we've had a lot of terrorism that is able to incubate and be spread around the world but i'm encouraged. i'm certainly happy that they're trying and i think nevadans and americans have to be rejoyinging that we're going to make -- rejoicing that we're going to make the effort. i don't know they're going to do what the obama administration did and just pull out, so they

farming? >> i think there's a lot to know. i think there is a whole lot that goes into it. but i think the biggest thing that i would tell not only him but also consumers in general is that it is so important today to know where your food comes from and how it got from the farm to the table and so the best way to do a that is to do your research. i think it's so critical that as americans we are looking at credible source as well, things that are not biased but you can look at things from usda and sources such as that in order to find accurate information about where your food comes from and everything it takes to produce the meat that you're eating in the morning in your chicken biscuit or the clothes your wearing on your back. >> laura beth, thank you so much for joining us this morning really appreciate your feedback and thank you for being with us. >> thank you for having me. >> the bloomberg campaign said he was not talking about today's farmers when he made that

dough. in fact, one of them, ricky munoz had to try to get gas money to even pick his wife up. so, you know, sometimes we need to check our facts before we just make statements. lisa: alice, i know you are friends with those three women you just mentioned. tell us a little bit about their stories and why you personally advocated for their sentence to be commuted? >> well, each one of these ladies i was incarcerated with. christa munoz i was at cozwell with her. she came in as a very broken woman. she left behind a 5-month-old baby. and when she was arrested, and she was pregnant. and she was one of the women who was shackled during childbirth. i came to look at crystal as a daughter. we prayed together. we went to church together. she is a beautiful, beautiful person. and her crime was she drew a map for a friend of the reservation.

and that and different points. and that friend, she was very poor. and she did gain a very small financial gain. and they used that map. but they didn't give her any of the money that they were making selling drugs. they simply -- she drew a map. and for that she was sentenced to 20 years. and she was shackled also while she was giving birth to her baby. judith mcgrown, i met her in aliceville. and she is a very gifted artist. but she also did so much for the prison. she taught parenting classes. she taught art. we -- she helped me because i'm a playwright. so she did a lot of the artwork for the plays that i did. we also danced in a praise dance ministry together which i was the director at in prison in aliceville. and tynese hall, beautiful woman. both of us experienced the heart break of being denied over and over during the

whole clemency project before president trump came into office. and we lived in the same unit. we were very good friends there. so all of these women' cases i took them very personal. and there are so many other women, too that i have taken their cases personal. lisa: why do you think we don't hears a much about them, alice? >> i think they are being pushed aside, the of the others that were granted pardons and clemency. these are all mothers. these are family members. they are daughters. they all have families who have been praying for their release. and i think that just want to hear the good. they only want to keep the narrative spin that this is not a good thing when these families have been reunited. and i feel that these were -- this was the right thing to do. they were all -- they are all incredible. and they all have very

herb's plan he had it in place a year and a half beforehand. he met with me in may of 1979 and told me the plan and it followed through all the way right to the end of the olympics and the way he trained them and pushed them, they were the best conditioned athletes on the planet that year and they deserve that gold medal. >> jason: coach they still weren't supposed to win. they were not supposed to win this. what was the difference of that team and those players back in 1980? >> well, i have to say nobody gave us credit for the talent that we had and the effort they put in for seven months training for that particular event was the difference in the end, because we were behind every single game in the olympics came back to win because of our conditioning, and that was credit to the players themselves that put out that effort through that stretch of time and also
