11:10 pm
i do respect the of voters in the position that they made. you can never count and he bowe out because you never know what's going to happen. >> let's update the scorecard because we have joe biden winning nine straight. bernie sanders with four. what about california? let's go to that. that obviously having the largest number of delegates tonight and sanders winning california. i'm not surprised that he has done well. once you divide those up, it's
11:11 pm
not a winner take all state. what about the key to the nomination now that super tuesday is almost behind us? >> i think there is no key. this shows that nobody has the key and nobody knows where the door is. you never know what somebody is going to do when they go in. i think that this really is a time for bernie sanders to eat some humble high and a couple weeks go they were saying i've got room for establishment. there is breaking news over nin times for bernie sanders. i think it is a time for the movement to sit back and fall back and re-figure out how they want to do their messaging. think attacking everyone and everybody that doesn't agree
11:12 pm
with every issue that they have it's going to continue to hurt them but there's still time to make up and they're going to change the messaging and the strategy. >> we will see what happens moving forward. be celebrating news to wait for an and that is maine, and we will have to wait for those results as well. we appreciate it as always. >> the time is about 12 minutes after the hour. bernie sanders scored the biggest super tuesday prize, california. that's warmer than 400 delegate were up for grabs. why she says biden is really th one who lost. i saved hundreds on my car insurance

11:17 pm
biden does that even come to th state of our couldn't can saw. mike bloomberg spent billions o dollars on the ground game and television and biden came away victorious. >> they don't call it super tuesday for nothing. just a few days ago the declare campaign dead. the biden made search was something that they've not seen forever. it was explained to me like thi by a prominent arkansas family could they have a mother and father and 2 sons. mother and father voted early for bloomberg. all they cared about was who could beat president trump. the two? unfolded today in the top tommy that they voted for joe biden. i talked to the mother and said her she would change her boat
11:18 pm
she would change it now it to joe biden rather than bloomberg. a lot of blue-collar workers here. aren't your workers going to vote for. was 70% of them will vote for donald trump. >> that is very telling. think is much for joining us. agreed to have you with us. the time is about 18 at the top the hour. and the big winds continue out west with the socialist coming out on top in colorado. we're live in denver with how young voters led him to victory. >> the baker city gets, the smaller it starts to seem which makes it more surprising how bi it feels right here. reimaginep

colorado, his liberal base giving him a huge boost and 28 delegates from there. for joined live from denver. alicia, it was a close call for second-place, is that right? >> that's right. we were actually watching secon third place, those categories tonight, as the night when on. bernie sanders was bleeding fro the beginning but it was bloomberg who was running in second at that place is now being held by joe biden. his look at the voter analysis comedienne. sanders sanders did really well with folks who identify as liberal and he did well with young voters and latinos. 's base has been here ever sinc the 2016 election when he beat hillary clinton and the presidential caucus prettiest run thousands to his rallies here and went into today meetin in the polls. now joe biden in second it's really a surprise because he was pulling up fourth-place heading into today. he did not hold one round this
11:23 pm
year and spent no money on television. bloomberg, however, spent the most open an office never congressional district and is looking at a third-place finish. >> matter how many delegates we win tonight, we have done something no one else thought was possible. in just three months we've gone from one person of the polls to being a contender for the democratic nomination. >> bernie sanders also did well in utah. you get a majority of that 29 delegates and evan delegates will officially be delegated or distributed tomorrow on a portion faces. that is done by the state democratic party. >> they just much for joining us . we appreciate it. great to have you with us. bernie sanders when he victory in california tonight as well, arnie top spot in the state wit 415 delegates up for grabs and joining us now the advisory
11:24 pm
board member and republican national lawyers association, thank you for joining us. we appreciate it. >> i want to start the numbers that we just came across. speaking of the state of california, president trump did pretty well, bringing an overpayment million votes, i think. and that is compared to bernie sanders who won the state was 624,792,000. yes, the president it's very popular among republicans acros the country so the comes as no surprise. you're also seeing several republican candidates doing ver well. of going to see some republican races. for the president, remember tha they did not want the president president actually be on the ballot in california for the very reason. but we did fight get them on th ballot. >> that is a big turnout for republicans in the state of california pivots talk about burning winning overall and
11:25 pm
california what does that mean moving forward. >> you have to remember that california is complex that were not going to finish counting th votes until 30 days from today. that's british the been case an my understanding are my friends are are sparta, lot of them put their votes in early and vote b mail is the majority of the votes in california right now. so they have overwhelmingly bee cast in favor of joe biden in response to the -- and i think you're going to see biden improving in your also going to find bloomberg's exit going to win delegates in and numerous county says well. it's going to be more split the but the assault was tonight, heather. >> i was a sting to speak earlier in the broadcasts and h said you expect him to stay in the race? >> here is the deal. democrats are looking at bernie versus --
11:26 pm
with joe biden. is the state is very troubling. it has to be. i would not be surprised to see them. like bloomberg stay in the race. warned is that of the money but bloomberg does the concern woul be bloomberg wanted command and save the party with their super delegate model at the conventio but i think that is a possibility and he has the mone and is going to pick up some delegates. >> we now know that state of texas. president trump has welcome the challenge from socialist bernie sanders. she denounced are bracing for a moderate biden. >> i don't think that biden is moderate. remember that biden came to the stage in texas with his gun grabbing agenda. and on top of that, he like
11:27 pm
every other democrat was in favor of open borders. abortion them ninth month and o and on. that stuff moderate. i think that while it may be something like he had to do to compete in its primary race, it is not appealing to voters in m opinion and not enough of a distinction from some of the other democrats to probably tur out the vote. it is not over yet. we really appreciate you sticking around. thank you so much. >> the time is about 27 minutes at the top of the hour. and joe biden's sweep the south including taxes pretty also net wins in oklahoma and 80 klobuchar's state of minnesota. republican strategists -- are here to debate up next.

11:32 pm
as a result, 14 states. joe biden just declared the winner in texas after his clean sweep in the south. bernie sanders coming away with a big prize tonight, the biggest , california, along with his home state of vermont. moving full speed ahead, claiming a majority of the contest, the delegate count still being calculated but joe biden in the lead. so what happens next. we have to live fox news team coverage from coast-to-coast an let's begin with jonathan. >> jonathan, you've been workin long hours and i've been following your coverage. >> good morning, heather, it's been a long night into mornings year. no surprise, by the way, that senator bernie sanders has won california, given how far ahead he was in the polls, given the sophistication of his grand gam here and the number of
11:33 pm
appearances he made people what is surprising is that joe biden got something like 10% -- and given that joe biden was at 8% of last pulled saw, some 26 points or so behind bernie sanders, that is a very good result for joe biden, who has clearly shown tonight that he i searching across the country. he was delighted the point that out at a rally here in la early this evening and which he mocks those who declared his campaign dead and then took a swipe at senator sanders. listen here. >> we want a nominee who will b donald trump, but also nancy pelosi the speaker of the house. we've got the united states senate.
11:34 pm
you want a nominee who is a democrat. >> at his own appearance in vermont tonight, senator bernie sanders returns that couple that , not mentioning joe biden by name but clearly drawing a distinction between the two candidates. listen here. >> one of us in this race led the opposition to war in iraq. you are looking at him. another candidate voted for the war in iraq. >> and let's not forget mike bloomberg, terrible night for him across the country, terribl night for him here in californi and it will be a very interesting 24 hours see what mike bloomberg does next. >> jonathan hunt live for us. >> wash post east coast, bernie sanders getting a big win in hi
11:35 pm
home state of vermont. you can't say that for everyone. elizabeth warren falling to third plays in massachusetts. a big blow to her campaign. good morning, pete. >> good morning. along with california here in the back roads of their backs. but it was a rough night for elizabeth warren, her candidacy is already on fumes. your home state is a firewall a automatic one begets leverett, it is pretty tough to deliver the white house. of results last night brought before the war and cabbage came in third in her own state of massachusetts. the polls leading up to super tuesday had shown her and berni sanders tightly atop that raise. instead it was joe biden winning , indicative of his surge cross-country waiting for 33% o the vote in massachusetts. the other story is vermont, the home state of bernie sanders is where we are this morning.
11:36 pm
pretty sandy's. this is almost 85% of the vote. is that north of 50% and that presented him from getting closer to that mark, joe biden in second place. we will play another clip from bernie sanders is but 25 miles from here at a rally with supporters. >> thanks to the great state of vermont and all of the people i the state, not only for the victory you gave our movement tonight, but for the years and years of love and support you have given me and my family. let's go on to the white house. thank you. >> heather, unclear what half o elizabeth warren has, if any. bernie folks think that her votes are taking away from him. he's going to have to get
11:37 pm
additional support from warren supporters, should she not continue in the race. >> also waiting to hear about warren and bloomberg. appreciate it. >> love the hat, by the way. is joe biden surges cross-country, what message did voters just sent to democratic socialist bernie sanders. here to debate that is legal affairs reporter for the washington times, alex warner. thank you for joining us very early this morning. >> hey, heather. lots of breaking news as we continue to have these numbers come in. texas going for biden. we'll start with you, what type of message is this sending to socialist. >> what is ascending to the bernie sanders campaign? >> i think that bernie sanders could be okay. i'm thinking the most frustrating thing as that the democratic party is trying to make a last-ditch effort and th trying to get folks come out in
11:38 pm
support of vice president biden. but i think it's not so much a movement as it is an individual movement. obviously they've got other folks behind and what they're doing is getting their support behind them. so it's indicative of what part is doing. it's not so much a constituent support its saying let's get th folks who you guys believe in and we will get them on the sid for you. >> we have bernie sanders winning his home state of vermont along with four others at this point, including california, which was the biggest one of the night. so what about this message in terms of socialism. if i have to say i think that the democratic primary voters are looking at what party establishment leaders have been saying and it's resonating. we see a lot of polls that show voters are concerned with the idea of someone who is a
11:39 pm
self-declared socialist leading the party ticket and i think that is what we saw tonight wit joe biden coming out victorious. he definitely had a bounce afte south carolina too. i think that voters realize tha he could pick up this more day first state. we saw that with alabama and i think the going to see that again later this month with mississippi and missouri. >> let's take a look at that oklahoma resolver we had joe biden coming in with the win at 38.7% and then we could take a look at minnesota where joe biden also won at 38.6%. still relatively close, chris. >> for some reason we have a long way to go. i think that more importantly, we look at the bloomberg campaign of what he said tonight , that he is not backing down. he still has a bit of hope. i think that he relies on the fact that he was at 1% polling
11:40 pm
and i think is going to continu to fight. as far as sanders goes, he is a young following. look what happened in california . he has noted youth support. >> as we prep up there, let's bring up bloomberg many breakdown and what he spent on the national at and combined in terms of at just for the super tuesday state. is this just an indication to perhaps bloomberg and his campaign but he can't by the presidency? >> exactly. you can't find momentum. if you are joe biden, you're looking at those numbers and also the bloomberg voters and they're saying get off the race and endorsed me.
11:41 pm
all the voters seem to be more in line with joe biden and it would further his energy and th support that effect coming out tonight. >> it would be interesting to see what bloomberg decides, after he assesses whether he will stay on her not. we appreciate it. >> thank you. >> just moments ago, texas was called joe biden, the former vp edging out ernie sanders and a nailbiter. despite the defeat the socialis had a better showing compared t the 2016 run against hillary clinton. so who stands the best chance o the lone star state against president trump in november? we will take a closer look. our retirement plan with voya gives us confidence... ...so we can spend a bit today, knowing we're prepared for tomorrow. wow, do you think you overdid it maybe? overdid what? well planned, well invested, well protected. voya. be confident to and through retirement.
11:45 pm
he picked up a bit digits on th same day that deadly tornadoes carved up path of destruction through the state. i understand that posted state open later. >> yes. the posted state open later to accommodate voters. the turnout was a little bit depressed for whatever reason, whether there was a tornado or not, nobody knows for sure -- for sure. joe biden winning 42% and got 2 delegates and bernie sanders ca and it 25% and got 5 delegates. mike bloomberg a little bit les than 16% of the delegates and h visited the state more than any other, four, times. here's what he had to say about the brace on a national level. >> my fellow candidates spent the whole you're focusing on th first orca states, i was out campaigning against donald trum in the states where the electio but actually beat the slightest
11:46 pm
bit like wisconsin and michigan and pittsburgh and the carolina. >> of he didn't mention tennessee in that sound, however , perfect for note that joe that joe biden did win that race. talking to voters to see how they feel about the results, a little bit later this morning. when the lights come on. >> thank you so much. be pretty appreciate it. now let's turn to texas. it was a nailbiter until just a short time ago. clearing biden the winner at th top the hour. so what does this mean for bernie sanders. it's break down the results wit former california -- left the state of california fo texas. thank you so much for joining us . we really appreciate it.
11:47 pm
>> i want it to speak with that. you were living in california and we now have a socialist candidate who has won californi versus what happened in texas where we have biden. is that an indication to you in terms of democrats that the socialism of california and the baked don't want a socialist in the southern state of texas? >> i think that there are two, things that happen. if you look at the early ballot in texas, 1 million votes that were cast before joe biden -- presented -- bernie sanders when those anyon would have won texas. once the word got out up the bernie sanders a position to frakking his support of the green new deal, the bottom just felt out of him and places like houston, the americas fourth most populous city, a big opinion poll just a few days ag found that 60% of registered democrats would oppose the gree new deal if they knew that it
11:48 pm
would lead to layoffs. so i think that hurt him quite bit in the major population center in texas. >> also in terms of the rest of the candidates and how they fared in texas. what is your take on that. >> it certainly would pretty much the way that the polls suggested that it would go except for the fact that former vice president biden did a lot better in the polls. he got that bounce back in carolina and you saw him capitalize on that. elizabeth warren did. poorly. i don't think she's going to pick up at the delegates in texas and mike bloomberg make i a delicate are to you. he just barely crossed the 15% threshold. the public at a few. i think when everything is tallied up by the end of the evening, it's going to take several weeks to tell your you everything up in california. he needs to the delegate count because of how many -- let's take a look at the texas
11:49 pm
primary result. that of want to compare that to clinton and sanders back in 201 and that race. so here is what we have going o in 2020 and we up 2016. so what did this tells you? >> i find very interesting is that while the sanders support was less this time around. you have to remember that there were several people running on the ballot. so you take the two candidates who were the most progressive, the most socialist, that would be bernie sanders and elizabeth warren. if you add them together, it's post about 41% of the vote, which is about eight points mor than bernie sanders got against hillary clinton in 2016. >> what about the demographics, breaking down the importance of that. >> you see sanders did very wel done in the rio grande valley. but the something for interesting about the rio grand valley, which is a huge portion of those votes were early votes per they were dubbed through
11:50 pm
mail and balloting a they were done through early voting. and a lot of those votes happen to the rio grande valley becaus ballot harvesters are big deal down there and that is what people kind of buy and sell elections down in the rio grand valley. so bernie sanders think a lot o votes down there when he was doing well in texas. the rest of the state he had a lot more votes on election day than you did down in the rio grande valley. >> so the two because states up for grabs, california and texas going to what is shaping up to be a two-man race for the democratic nomination of biden and sanders. thank you so much for joining us . we appreciate it. >> very early. the time now is about ten minutes and tell the top of the hour and super tuesday scare fo joe biden as a couple of protesters stormed the stage. joe biden shielding her from a top advisor as he goes in the secret service mode. reaction to the takedown.
11:55 pm
she was super in couple of how close they got to the candidate and how long they were on stage. back on twitter, also says can we all agreed to halt the end that very protester of intolerance, saying the got milk . a big shout out to biden senior and sanders, who practically on of the protesters off. >> and then sanders later tweeted by broken meal. she protect the candidate. >> results just coming in at th top the hour. and they brought in some extra voting machines as these lines were just long. >> a major issue in texas. voters were forced wait for hours after polls close. take a look at that line right
11:56 pm
there. the lines becoming so long that some precinct locations brought an extra voting machines, but not before some people gave up all together and went home, which is never something that you want to have happen. a lot of people who were in these long waits for complainin on social media which generated a lot of conversation around this. voting is the core of our government. there is no good reason ever wh anyone should have to wait for two or three or four hours to vote. it's a sign that the system is failing. one study showed that a lot of polls closed in areas where there is a heavy minority population, something to watch out for. >> they with us because there's life team coverage for you up next. even more real people than me: jd power. 448,134 to be exact. they answered 410 questions in 8 categories about vehicle quality. and when they were done, chevy earned more j.d. power quality awards across
11:57 pm
cars, trucks and suvs than any other brand over the last four years. so on behalf of chevrolet, i want to say "thank you, real people." you're welcome. we're gonna need a bigger room. >> tech: don't wait for a chip like this to crack your whole windshield. with safelite's exclusive resin, you get a strong repair that you can trust. plus, with most insurance a safelite repair is no cost to you. >> customer: really?! >> singers: safelite repair, safelite replace.

democratic nomination and we are going to defeat the most dangerous president in the history of this country. >> you have all heard our campaign slogan mike will get it done. it means winning this november and sending donald trump back tomorrow law go permanently. >> my little sister valerie. you switched on me. this is my wife, this is my sister. >> i believe i will make the best president of the united states. i was not born a politician but i was born a fighter. >> in november we will create the highest voter turnout in political history. let's go on to the white house. >> it is wednesday march 4th and this is a special edition of "fox and friends first" very
12:02 am
early. supertuesday showdown as results from 14 states pouring overnight, voters turning out big for joe biden, surging to victory in a southern sweep winning nine states including a big win in texas just called by the associated press an hour ago. all night that race had been too close to call but in maine it is still a dead heat between biden and sanders and california coming up with a big win for bernie sanders which everyone was watching that one. the self proclaimed socialist taking home a good chunk of the 415 delegates up for grabs. the golden state one of four bernie won last night including a strong performance in colorado is the delegate total still being calculated but joe biden is in the lead. we have expert analysis, live team coverage coast-to-coast but
12:03 am
we begin with jeff jenkins who is live on the west coast for us in los angeles. good morning. >> reporter: it is midnight and they just finished over 16 hours of voting and you can see students at ucla celebrating their act of democracy. from the t-shirts many of them voted for sanders who has won in the most delegate prize in the nation. listen to them. they are fired up. you see sanders on top with 30.6, 72 delegates for sanders, second biden 21.49, 21 delegates, bloomberg 16.5 one with eight delegates, warnings 12.32% and 7 delegates, sanders and vermont celebrating across the country.
12:04 am
