largest known cluster of cases in the country. so there's more coming up on that story. in the meantime it's super tuesday 2.0 and at this hour they are voting in six states. joe biden is looking to increase his lead. the former vp writing momentum from a week ago, 352 it delegates up for grabs today. the biggest prize is michigan with 125 and that is where bernie sanders pulled off an upset to beat hillary clinton four years ago. this, too will come as a battleground. president trump the first public and to win michigan since 1988 by less then 100,000 votes. let's bring in the chairwoman, welcome to our coverage today. good afternoon to you. what happens in your state tonight? >> he has the establishment completely behind him, many of the congressional leaders, but bernie did have this upset

against hillary clinton in 2016 so we will see what happens. right now the polling has joe biden pulling away and were winning michigan. >> bill: when i look at the 2016 results, this is stunning. the numbers are as close as you can find. however, why do you think if you are right about your first answer, why is michigan turning on bernie sanders this time? >> while i think that you have the biden camp solidifying the astonishment wing, and that's from detroit and african-american community. that will be key for him in michigan. president trump just had a poll come out showing him beating biden and michigan. president trump renegotiating nafta and focusing on manufacturing jobs. he has done a lot for the people of michigan and that's why you continue to see strong support for him. >> bill: it you know the

neighborhood of sterling heights, michigan is macomb county. that's where you find reagan democrats. the mayor of that town has switched his allegiance from president to joe biden. how come? >> let me just tell you the mayor may be that way but the people of macomb county are solidly for donald trump. those are reagan democrats became trump republicans and they have stayed with him since 2016. i say he has even grown support and that will pique to us winning michigan again. these are blue-collar workers and they were the forgotten men and women and president trump said we need to do better trade deals. joe biden voted for nafta. these are things that are going to resonate. >> bill: those are the issues and we want to watch that all the way through november.

now the second issue is coronavirus. here's the headline from earlier today. the virus cannot be bluffed or bullied and will soon become his greatest adversary. talking about president trump and the pandemic. how big of a threat do you see that? to his presidency today? >> i think this is something everybody is taking seriously. the president took decisive action in january when he said we will close travel to giant, china and mitigate the threat of the new virus. that's affecting the whole world. and because he did that he was on saying this aptly stopped the spread of the iris in states. democrats had called it xenophobic and now the president is working across every field possible, health care, with the homeland security to make sure we are doing everything we can to get vaccines out there or to get tests out there to create a vaccine and inform the american

public as to best practices going forward. >> bill: just a few weeks ago, the economy was the strongest message. this is a great unknown and i'm just trying to understand how you factor in the possibility of this global economic pool, how do you evaluate that? >> i think the economy is very strong. because the economy is so strong we've been able to address this quickly. but the leadership of the president has been -- he's put a good task force together and he is leading in a time that he's done in a crisis. it's unfortunately that we seen democrats try to politicize an issue in a crisis when all americans should be coming together. >> bill: thank you for your time, we have your counterpart coming up in 30 minutes so stay tuned.

2 trillion. a payroll tax cut would have to go through congress. >> let's put them up on the screen. there are five republican lawmakers on at the cpac conference who have now put themselves into the self by self-flagellation. ted cruz of texas, paul goss or, representative matt gaetz of florida and mark meadows who is the new incoming chief of staff. they all had contact with a man from new jersey at the recent cpac conference and he tested positive for coronavirus. doug collins shook hands with the president and was with him on friday in georgia. matt gaetz was the president will make with the president in florida and flew back on air force one and mark meadows was here for a white house meeting sometime at the beginning of last week. he has not been here to the white house since the president named him as the new chief of staff. the president was asked this morning why he has not gotten tested yet for the coronavirus and here's what the president

>> bill: have more passengers today allowed to leave the grand princess cruise ship. at least 21 onboard that ship tested positive but now thousands of people are headed for further quarantine. claudia cowan tracks it all again from the port in oakland, california. claudia, how goes it today? >> so far this massive operation here at the port of oakland has been smooth as we take a live look at the aerial pictures. more than 400 people are already off the grand princess cruise ship now headed to quarantine sites across the country. dozens of pastors who needed immediate medical attention got off first, rushed to local hospitals, followed by the 19 crew members and passengers who tested positive for covid-19.

52-year-old denise doman hope that she and her husband don't get sick after spending time with one of the infected passengers. >> we had actually arranged to meet these people on the cruise, they were from new york, he was one of the two that had tested positive. so once we get off the ship we will all be tested anyway but it will be a sigh of relief that my husband and i test negative seeing as how we spent so much time with this man. >> the first group of about 150 passengers from california arrived at travis air force base last night and many were wearing protective face masks. they don't show signs of infection but will be watched closely over the next two weeks as well passengers who will be quarantined at three other military bases. by the way 25 children on the cruise testing negative for the virus. all morning long wasting passengers lining up according to colors they have been assigned. they've been screened and processed before boarding charter flights to their

little bit of space. she will make the best decision for herself and for her constituents i'm sure and at the end of the day she will support whoever the democratic nominee is. >> bill: you got a debate coming up in a few days. people want to know if the dnc changed its rules again and apparently on friday i did and tulsi gabbard is not happy. i want to play the sound bite on her reacting from the hypocrisy that she sees at play. >> there's a lot of hypocrisy going on here and the american voters have the right to ask these questions, both of the dnc and their corporate media partners who are hosting these debates as they make the rules. >> bill: what do you i say to her. up until friday she had a seat at the table with sanders and biden on the 15th of march. >> what i will say is that all of the women in this race have paved the way for other women to run moving forward. they made at the norm. the reality is if you need 1991 delegates in order to win the

nomination, you don't need one, you don't need to, you need 1991. whoever is on the path of getting those delegates, we made sure we had a criteria that is fair and to make sure that people who are viable for the presidency and for the nomination are going to be on that. >> bill: you can make your own rules but i'm pointing out that you change the rules over the weekend. and then a month pryor with mike bloomberg than the rules were changed. >> the rules have changed based off of where the race has been and they change almost every debate and not every two debates. it actually makes sense. now people are voting and we made sure that polling is no longer in the mix because we are actually counting the vote of the american people which is where it should be. >> bill: so there's no hypocrisy? and we've reached out to tulsi gabbard and we will bring this on.

why do you think establishment has coalesced around joe biden so quickly? why did that happen? >> what i will tell you is it's the will of the voters. the voters are deciding who gets the delegates and those are based on their estates. it was thrown around in 2016 and it was thrown around in 2008. this is about the voters. this is about the voters deciding who are democratic nominee is and that's the beauty of the primary. that's the way it should be. >> bill: at cory booker and kamala harris dropped out months ago. it just seems pretty obvious to a lot of people that they have dropped their walls and said to bernie is not our guy and joe biden is. >> they have all said they would support whoever the democratic nominee is and just as he said, each of these candidates understand the importance of
