senior military officer to lead the federal government's logistical response. the problem is, chuck is not paying attention. the president did that a long time ago. take a look. >> senator schumer wrote a letter today and he says you could put a military man in charge and i said, well, chuck, if you knew a little bit more, we have one of the most highly respected people in the military, the admiral, this is what he does too, very professionally, and he's in charge, but chuck didn't know that. >> sean: the president doing a travel ban, quarantines, and schumer leading the impeachment. also sent a letter to schumer writing "thank you for a democratic public relations letter and incorrect sound bites, which are wrong in every way" and the president continued, "if you spent less time on your ridiculous impeachment oaks and instead focus on helping the people in new york, then the state would not have been so completely unprepared for this invisible enemy." speaking of which, the president had some strong words for states

600 million that went belly up. that brings us to new york governor andrew cuomo, another constant complainer and comrade bill de blasio, another complainer. tonight we have a conference of timeline detailing how new york's government failed its citizens in a spectacular fashion. sadly. by the way, new yorkers pay more for taxes per capita than anywhere else in america. let's go way back to november of 2015. the report the president is referring to. the new york state department of health, page 30 of that report. during a severe influenza pandemic, there's likely to be a projected shortfall of ventilators. 15,783. rounded off to 16,000. during peak week demand. after reading this report, cuomo, the governor, purchased zero new ventilators, zero. not one. instead, he instructed the commission to figure out ways to ration the existing 2,000

ventilators. that's dereliction of duty, especially when he wasted all of these millions -- hundreds and hundreds of millions of dollars on projects that all failed, but it gets worse. flash forward to this year, january 24th. cuomo was telling his state the coronavirus risk is, to new york -- to new yorkers is low. february 6th, he said the flu was a much greater risk. march the 1st he said there's no reason for undue anxiety, the general risk remains low. a few days later, well, he said new york and manage the increasing spread of the virus. that's in march. this got out in march. he was wrong over and over again and the worst part is his state was prepared for nothing. number one target for terrorism and if you have a pandemic of any kind, new york, highest concentration of people, 10 million people in the smallest geographical area. new york's health care system is so overwhelmed, get this,

cardiac arrest victims whose hearts cannot be restarted at the scene, they're not being taken to the hospital as is usual protocol. new york post broke that story because of an executive order -- what, we now know in new york if you want to take the potentially life-saving treatment we have talked so much about, hydroxy clerk when, you have to go to a hospital in the state of new york to get it. that's a dumb idea. governor cuomo, this is the only state now doing this. of michigan rescinded it, nevada rescinded . rescind order, governor. allowed new yorkers to get the drug if they choose at a pharmacy and stop pushing people that don't need to be in a hospital into the hospital system. without donald trump's help, it would have been overrun by this point. in view of course taking photo ops at all the hospitals that the president is building for you. we will have more on this coming up. more facts without fear, hud secretary ben carson.
6:19 pm
dr. carson, let's talk specifically about the mitigation efforts, the testing, respirators, masks, medical supplies. do you feel that we will have enough as we needed, as we know move out to other states and new york? >> well, you know, we have ramped up incredibly fast, recognized that no one anticipated that we were going to have this kind of epidemic going on in this country, so people had not prepared for it. to see how rapidly we were able to get up to speed is amazing. the fact that fema has been called to lead the effort along with hhs and, you know, we've used the incredible resources of the military, the army corps of engineers. remember about a month ago, everybody was marveling at how quickly the chinese were able to put up a thousand bed hospital. we put it up even faster than that. these guys are absolutely

>> a scarf is not going to be as good as a surgical mask and i won't be as good as a n95 mask but there's a brief thinking a bar owned masks because we realize the virus doesn't go deep in your lungs, it probably inserts itself right at the very tip of your nose. imagine little doors there which are where the cells and receptors can accept the virus. the virus is a key and it unlocks those doors and goes in. older people have more of those doors than young people. that's why they get more of the infection, we believe. and wearing any kind of facial covering could block the larger droplets from getting into your nose, so although culturally we had an aversion to wearing masks, certainly if you are sick you should wear something over your face, of some type to block the fluid. but say the words stay healthy. when you say that health part you're actually spending a little bit and that's what you need the barrier. the problem with cloth masks is it doesn't really protect you as well as you'd like to because you get a false sense of security. if you play with it all the time, you actually touch her
