predicting more bombshells surrounding the origins of the russia probe and involvement of obama era officials as the doj drops the case of former national security advisor michael flynn. pete: our next guest worked as flynn's deputy. griff: k.t. mcfarland is former national security advisor and author the book revolution she joins us now. good morning, k.t. how are you? >> i'm just great. and thank you so much for having me on. great to be with all three of i today. pete: great to be with you. griff: you are a great guest to have here. now we are doing the saturday morning digest of the big news of the week of course, the doj developing the case against michael flynn. and you weighed in before but my question to you to start us off is so now, today, andy mccabe says there was always a motivation to go after michael flynn it. predated trump's candidacy. it was his threat to national security but what do you think income cabe and the entire group's motivation was? >> i think they had a couple of

motivations. i mean, one was to get flynn. flynn -- they had to do a preemptive strike against flynn. even the director of counterintelligence for the fbi wrote in his handwritten note said what's our goal here to get flynn in a perjury trap or to get him fired? well, they needed to get rid of them because flynn for a couple reasons one flynn knew where all the bodies were buried. he had been in the obama administration. he had been director of dni. so he had been a director of the military intelligence during the obama administration. he knew all these characterization. he knew where all the bodies were buried. number two, he as director of dia. he had promised and had done and carried out a pretty significant reorganization of that intelligence agency. and he and i and the president talked about doing the same thing in the trump administration. to say look at those 16 sprawling intelligence agencies, reform, streamline, reorganize so the people in the bureaucracy they didn't want any changes, of course. i think the most important

rear admiral dr. ronny jackson joins us to discuss. thank you for being on the program. really appreciate it? >> thanks, pete. pete: you have been there in the white house in charge of health of the president and the facility. what do you make of the situation there? >> well, you know, pete, the testing procedures at the white house are super aggressive right now. so anyone that's in close proximity whatsoever to the west wing in and around the west wing is going to be tested on a regular basis right now. if you have that aggressive testing posture. you are naturally going to find a few positive. that's the way it is. with regards to the secret service agents i don't know what that report -- i haven't read the report. it hasn't been out officially yet. but, the secret service is made up of thousands of secret service agents and uniform division officers. they're not just in washington, d.c. they are not just at the white house the they are all over the world and the united states. for them have 11 members testing positive. i think that's totally expected i'm not concerned about that atm someone who knows what they are

talking about. that's why you are on today. we appreciate your perspective. let's talk about your state where you are running. panhandle of texas, uptick of cases. it's a crucial region for the nation'nation beef supply. what are you seeing there? >> well, we were doing just like everybody else in texas. we were, you know, we had very few cases. things were looking really good for us. we had a little bit of spike here. it was related to the meat packing plants. one quarter of all the base of the united states comes from the panhandle of texas. we have a large meat packing producers up here, industry up here. well, you know, we know from other places around the country that the meat packing plants have been a little bit of an issue. it's related in some part to the fact that there is a lot of immigrants that work in these plants and socially and culturally things are different for them. i well as well as you know i have traveled to 120 different countries all over the world. everything is a little bit different. they have the cdc rolled in now and i have talked to the cdc

couple of occasions i have talked to the task force on the ground. they are being super aggressive here the president has made sure that they have the resources that we need here. to make sure that we can get control of this. i think we are doing the right thing there are going to be recommendations and findings come out this week be able to fall in on and get past. this we are getting back to work in texas and excited about it. pete: sure hope so. absolutely. you are running for congress. one of the plans you are pushing is bringing the pharmaceutical industry back to the u.s. how would you do that? >> well, you know, i think that the president has identified, you know, this is a national security issue for us, the fact that our pharmaceuticals are coming from china and india and places like that. and that's a danger to us. and so i think there is going to be a huge legislative push coming up led by the president to bring that pharmaceutical industry back here to the united states. and i just think that there is no reason why that shouldn't be coming to the panhandle of texas. here where i'm at in amarillo we have a medical school a school of pharmacy, a veterinarian

a lot of the highest levels of the obama administration and what they were talking about with michael flynn. griff: that's right. we heard the president well, just to add on to that real quick. we heard the president talk about president obama and saying there is much more coming. but it was that classic friday leak that we got that had to do with what president obama had to say, emily. emily: exactly. and i think what's so difficult to stomach about this and what confuses normal american part-time is the is the fact that what this identified was corruption at the highest level, right? the conclusion drawn was that the interview was untethered to and unjustified by the entire investigation. that flynn's comments were immaterial those on the left that say this is the corruption and that this is the politicization calling for a.g. barr's removal and the fact he is doing the president's bidding. i think he is doing the bidding of the american people which is identifying and trying to root

out corrupt cancerous tumors within an agency. if anyone, we should all be on board with that so it saves the reputation and sanctity of what should be our nation's most revered agencies. pete: bingo, well said emily. griff, you mentioned the leak. while it came out of a phone call that former president barack obama did with his alumni. the alumni of his administration it. happened on friday, supposed to be a private call. somehow it got leaked and wonder how that happens as you mentioned, griff. got leaked to yahoo news. this is a portion of what president obama said. the fact that there is no precedent for anybody to find someone that's been charged with perjury, which he was not by the way. just getting off scot-free. that he was the kind of stuff where you begin to get worried that basic, not just institutional norms but our basic understanding of the rule at law is at risk. so we are learning now more about how the rule of law was shredded by the obama administration yet he has the audacity to go on the call. calls it perjury. he misrepresented the facts. we know that perjury is under

oath and ultimately say the problem is michael flynn, griff? griff: let's weigh in on exactly -- forget the mysti misf perjury. it wasn't. harvard educated attorney talking about the rule of law when we now know from released to the public facts that the basis for the investigation into general flynn which was crossfire razor produced zero evidence for its. as attorney general barr dismissed charges because of the lack for the basic of the investigation. it's really quite stunning and i think it's fair to say and i can't confirm this but i suspect that leak of president obama was intentional to weigh in but i'm not sure he is right about that. pete: yeah. emily: do you know what kills me too as an attorney uberous and ego that obama is bringing to the table right now and saying the rule of law has been

manipulated or whatever. is he literally equating the sort of logic like if you got prosecuted for stealing something, but then it actually turns out you own that item, so it's not theft at all. he is trying to get that narrative baked into people's head so they think that general flynn was convicted of perjury when that wasn't the case and especially when the doj itself has recently filed that motion saying that his statements were immaterial. so it literally annihilates the charge from the get-go and, yet, he is coming in from left field trying to apply a false logic. i see through it. you guys see through it and so do our viewers. pete: emily, it's so nice to have a lawyer on the couch this morning. we appreciate it. we also know this through fox news reporting. barack obama had intimate knowledge of michael flynn's phone call through surveillance which fbi acknowledged at the time were not criminal or improper. that's january of 2017. it got us thinking, what else happened in january of 2017? here are the headlines from the "new york times." january 12th, 2017. remember, donald trump has been

because there is only one truth with everything. and what the facts show here, the actual evidence, the transcripts, the notes from the calls. there is more evidence coming out. we have only seen a little bit of it. what it actually shows is andrew mccabe and other leaders at the fbi went to entrap michael flynn. comey says it himself when he says i sent agents to the white house. i didn't go through any of the normal protocols. do you know what that means. i didn't actually follow the procedure that the law requires me to follow. and it's called entrapment. when someone actually hasn't committed a crime and andrew mccabe can say what he likes, but his own investigators had found out that there was no derogatory information that indicated that michael flynn was a national security threat. the fbi concluded he was not a security threat. and i just want to say that going to andrew mccabe is literally like, you know, say there was kind of a mob killing. and you are going to one of the people that was involved in the killing. and you are asking them did you

or did you not do this? i mean, and i'm using just as a theoretical example. not literal. the point here is that you are asking andrew mccabe. you are going to him and painting him and presenting him as if he is some kind of independent expert on this. he is not an independent expert. is he complicit in whatever it was that went on. and the justice department feels strongly enough about it they have said what went on that there was no case against general flynn. they are saying, the justice department is saying there was no pretext to investigate him. did he not present a national security threat. and i would encourage people don't take my word for it. go to the evidence. go to the transcript. this is information that's not only withheld from us, the public, right? it was withheld from general flynn and his attorneys. and he had corrupt attorneys, attorneys who appear to be corrupt in the beginning. who encouraged him to plead guilty because people say oh he admitted to a crime. he admitted he was guilty.
