weeks. jillian: many things postponed. how will the cornhusker state in sure voters stay safe? rob: joining us don bacon up for reelection today, appreciate it. what are you expecting today? can you say that again? rob: what are you expecting today? what will today look like? >> we will have record turn out in mail in ballots. the past couple weeks, 40,000 voters voted more than 2016 in the presidential year four years ago and thousands more coming in today. nebraska is a can-do state, ready for in person voting and doing mail in ballots for weeks. jillian: let's look at the unprecedented early voting count, 301,000, more than the 2016 presidential election. i am curious.

a lot of people concerned about going out considering this is the first in person vote that is happening, what are you doing to ensure everyone coming out today, you want people to make their voices heard. >> everyone will be offered a mask when they show up. there will be masks, gloves, hand sanitizer, white down the facilities frequently. we have 150 guard members, national guard members to help as well and we will be ready. we already opened up the state, restaurants open this past week. i know nebraskans are ready to do this and do it right. rob: the latest on your numbers, you had 8400 cases, 98 deaths at this point. the state's handling it pretty well. are you ready for a further

reopening in nebraska? >> i think so. governor ricketts has been doing a great job. they works closely with medical experts. medical care is one third capacity when it comes to covid-19. we are in a good spot and the hotspots we do have, we are working very hard to help those working in meatpacking plants to provide ppe those folks need to make sure they have higher standards for keeping it clean and wiping down slaughterhouses but that is the main area or the main problem, 2 or 3 meatpacking plants was outside that nebraska has had low numbers of covid-19 infection. jillian: we will see how the election goes. keep us updated. >> thank you, have a great

>> i would be proud of her and excited she joined the nursing profession but i don't think any of us could have dreamed we would be in a situation like we are today. jillian: you are working with a lot of the same nurses your mother worked with. tell me what you are up against day in and day out. >> it is special that i work with the same people my mom did. she called me erica by accident. being able to build my nursing career and a lot of that depends on how great a nurse my mom was has been a challenge for me and honoring her and her nursing career. it has been challenging with covid-19. so many things are changing, policies sometimes multiple times a day when it came about, we had to restructure our way of

thinking and doing things and caring for our patients by keeping them safe. jillian: if we look at cases indiana, 511 new cases with a total of 24,000, 32 deaths reported monday and 1400 total deaths in your state. and regardless of how they are in a situation, we've never been through this, and on the front lines, how much is it as a mother? >> every mother worries about their child's, doing everything we can as a health system to have colleagues safe and best care for patients and keep colleagues safe.
