2:09 am
shelters to avoid overcrowding at existing shelters and advising residents to be prepared with their own facemasks. rob: janice dean talking about the weather and there is a disturbance already off the coast of florida and we are months early at this point. >> janice: the official season starts june 1st but we have had storms that formed as early as may even earlier than that, they can for many months of the year but we have a disturbance off the coast of florida. talking about tropical disturbances that form this time of year, the season june 1st-november 30th above average activity is expected this year and we have a tropical storm every two years on average in june in the pre-june 1st storm, we had one last year, that was andrea in the atlantic basin, this one is off the coast, you see where bonnie is, that is the disturbance we are watching right now off the coast of florida into the bahamas. this storm will be named arthur and we do anticipate either a
2:10 am
tropical or subtropical storm to form this weekend. the good news is all the tropical models have it offshore but bermuda has to watch this. we will be watching the tropics as we get into the weekend and we have a severe threat across the central us, large hail, damaging winds and tornadoes possible over the same areas we have seen over and over this season. tornadoes and tropical season watching both of them through the next couple days. we will keep you posted. back to you. rob: birthday girl, good to see you again. >> janice: i had a long long weekend birthday and thank you for celebrating with me. jillian: the media twisting anthony fauci's testimony to so fear and division. >> doctor anthony fauci spoke
2:11 am
2:14 am
>> doctor anthony fauci spoke publicly about the pandemic, disagreeing. >> we saw him contradict the administration from one to another. that doesn't sit well with people inside the administration. >> listen to anthony fauci, follow science, not your ego. jillian: democrats in the mainstream media, framing anthony fauci's testimony as a rebuke of the president. rob: anthony fauci says it is
2:15 am
not accurate. why does the media insist on this narrative? jillian: thanks for being here, beverly. there was a lot you could take away from yesterday including the fact that anthony fauci talked about headway with possible vaccines and he is looking forward to having one but there is a lot of positive you can take away from it. why are we not hearing that? >> it doesn't fit the narrative the media wants go the media wants to fit anthony fauci against donald trump. they have done this from the beginning even though anthony fauci said please don't pit us against each other. he said he has a good working relationship with the president, the president listens to him, they work
2:16 am
together on phased reopening of the united states presented a few weeks ago but it seems the media and the left only want to listen to anthony fauci when it comes to his public health advice but not at his word when he says he has a good relationship with the president. rob: the more divisive headlines out of a hearing, pull them up on the screen, from cnn, the guardian, here is anthony fauci, he has had to do this before and has done this before. he is again defending the relationship and how the president thinks. >> i give advice and opinion based on evidence-based scientific information. he hears that, he respects it. over the last several months never has there been any confrontational relationship. rob: there's a lot of further right voices that are hardly critical of the president for listening too much to anthony fauci and birx so you can't win. >> absolutely. we are seeing that narrative presented more and more, people wondering if the president
2:17 am
should have listened to anthony fauci is much as he has. even in a hearing yesterday anthony fauci said i don't focus on economic issues which he is coming at this solely from a public health perspective. he has been wrong along the way and some of his predictions, there should be at least leeway for that as we learn more about the coronavirus that there are reasons you have senator rand paul say we need to look at the economic aspects of this. we are talking people's livelihoods as a small business owner, have been impacted by the decision to shutdown the economy and people say we need to weigh the two, public health with the economy and the ramifications of shutting down but what we are seeing from the mainstream media is every life matters and anyone who wants to open the economy you therefore don't care about people's lives. the media are using anthony fauci to pilfer that narrative
2:18 am
to push that narrative forward and they started by saying there is an issue between anthony fauci and donald trump because they think that will help the narrative they are perpetuating. jillian: we are hearing the talk but not in all cases the walk, by that i mean how do we get to the point where we have more people coming together in this conversation to say scientifically here's the information we have, let's take this into consideration and look at the economy. we have millions of people out of jobs, businesses that may never be open, a lot of them, we have to find a way for businesses to reopen so people can work again and do it safely. when do we get to that point? people are frustrated waiting for that to happen. >> people are frustrated. this is why you see protests across the country. part of this frustration is the goalposts of changed when it comes to what our goals are. first it was don't overwhelm the hospitals, now it is we
2:19 am
have to protect every life at all costs but the reality is, anthony fauci mentioned this, we don't know when a vaccine will be available. this was never supposed to be shut everything down until a vaccine was available was what we need to do is instead of putting people against each other with a binary choice of opening or staying closed, let's look at sensible ways that we can be as safe as possible realize we want kids to go back to school, people who have surgeries and other health needs we want them to go back to their doctor. rob: you will hide in your house until a vaccine was out in a year, that was never spoken. 19 minutes after the hour. the house speaker wants to make it rain with $3 trillion and a wish list for coronavirus relief. republicans call this build that on arrival because it is packed with pork. jillian: brian brent briggs is the bill is designed for a shutdown economy when it should be focused on recovery, he joins us live. they are compelled to step forward.
2:23 am
>> more money in the pockets of the american people. it will costs more. >> this is not a time for aspirational legislation, to prop this economy up forever. rob: nancy pelosi facing push back against her $3 trillion proposal. jillian: the house is expected to vote on the heroes act friday the gop leaders are already shutting down the possibility of passage. rob: breaking down the so-called liberal wish list. this is almost a year of economic outlook in one part of this.
2:24 am
>> spending $3 trillion to provide relief and stimulus. people asking the question we spent $3 trillion, where is this money coming from? how do we pay it back and is a going to achieve the objective more and more americans want which is not just money in my pocket. how is this going to help me here. it is not going to help people back to work. jillian: let's look at the breakdown, $150 million for food banks, second round of cash payments, extends weekly unemployment units, hazard pay freezes or workers, $915 billion for state and local government, $10 billion for small businesses.
2:25 am
in the wish list, $50 billion to colleges and universities, $3.6 billion for mail in voting, $25 billion for the post office, $100 million to combat domestic violence in provisions that allow banks to work on cannabis related regulation with thoughts on all of that. >> my friends and neighbors, the question is what does the federal government doing to make it possible, we just went through millions, billions of dollars of spending, people scratching their heads saying how will that get us out of this and get the economy back on the right track. you can't put money in people's pockets that we don't have, spending has to be geared toward helping businesses hire again. people want to go to work, small businesses wants to higher. you talk to any small business owner they will tell you that
2:26 am
is an impediment to hiring, to stay home instead of get back on the job, it is going to wreck the recovery extending through the end of the year forget about fourth quarter bounce back. we will not see that until 2021. rob: it has nothing to do with the recovery. you got an op-ed, frivolous lawsuits. at a time of coronavirus we had a number of lawsuits against businesses. is it imperative the government protect these businesses with a won't reopen? >> talk about things we should be doing, one is a liability shield for businesses. you hear the critics saying provided liability shield means given carte blanche, immunity from everything and they will exploit workers, nothing could
2:27 am
be further from the truth, businesses need to know they are not subject to a frivolous lawsuit because they want to bring workers back and do it knowing there is not a lawsuit waiting around every corner. that is the kind of thing we should be talking about, it should include liability protection for freedom to get back out. and to get on with it. both businesses and workers need that to get the traction. jillian: 988 virus funds. thank you for your time. it is 27 minutes after the hour. the fast and furious scandal rolling back into the headlines. as mexico demand answers. rob: the cross-border gunrunning operation resulted in the death of american border patrol agent, his family calling for an honest investigation. they join us live. ve shoppers. we laughed with you. sprinkles are for winners.
2:28 am
we surprised you. on occasion, we've probably even annoyed you. we've done this all with one thing in mind. to help protect the things you love. and if we can't offer you the best price we'll help you find a better one. it's not always the lowest! even if it's not with us. that's how we've done it for the past 80 years. not just today, or this month, but always.
2:31 am
jillian: pumping the brakes, the federal judge overseeing michael flynn's case delaying the justice department effort to drop it by allowing third parties to weigh in. rob: griff jenkins live in washington in anticipation is building whether the d and i will release the list of obama era officials behind the unmasking of the former national security adviser. >> reporter: we may soon see those names but we won't see a end to the flynn case anytime soon. an unusual move given the doj abandoned the effort saying they should offer their opinions, ordering the court to accept amicus briefs or court filings. the court will enter a scheduling order governing the submission of amicus briefs. flynn's attorney responded the proposed amicus brief has no place in this court, no delay
2:32 am
should be tolerated or expense caused to him and his defense, leading flynn in legal limbo a little longer, it would be further extended if call for evidentiary hearings, acting dni rick grenell classified this behind the unmasking of flynn carrying the list to the doj last week. the justice department says they are not releasing it but it is within his rights to do so. unmasking to be clear means revealing the names of us citizens contained in the intelligence report. senate judiciary committee chairman lindsey graham has this to say. >> if i ever find the intelligence community was in masking my phone calls with foreign leaders where i discussed foreign-policy, i find it unbelievable the outgoing administration is surveilling the incoming administration. >> on the senate floor they
2:33 am
take up fisa reforms, senator rand paul is offering an amendment. >> they brought him in to create a crime, terrible travesty of justice, the ultimate thing for us in the legislature is we should not let these abuses of power happen again and i am pushing hard to make sure we take this power away from government. >> reporter: as for the timeline for grenell let's release it could be as soon as today. we have to wait and find out. it may be additional intelligence or information released in addition to this list. more to come. jillian: a lot more questions. rob: the obama administration in the hot seat over the cross-border bug running scandal, mexico demanding answers as they try to weed out corruption. >> the government of mexico request to be provided with all the information available regarding the fast and furious operation.
2:34 am
>> brian perry exposed the operation in 2010 when he was fatally shot by a mexican gang member and like mexico they need transparency. terry's brother joins us to explain. i know that for a long time your family has been trying to get answers and you have been demanding them. do you think you will get them now that mexico is demanding it? >> we have been waiting 9 and a half years to get something. we got 0 accountability, 0 answers. whatever doj and oversight agreed on we don't know nothing about it. we are hanging in limbo. my brother is a marine. he deserves answers. rob: absolutely agree with you. it has been 10 years, let's do a reminder what this operation
2:35 am
was. illegal gun purchases allowed from this country, essentially looking to track who is buying these illegal guns and hoping somehow to limit gun smuggling across the border with what they learned, they are letting these things be sold but in the end, the 2000 firearms that they say were justifiably sold to learn information only 710 were recovered. why do you think mexico suddenly has an interest in this? >> that is a good question. bobby for ten years, thousands of deaths over there, these guns ran across the border. these were known felons, running guns across the border.
2:36 am
isn't mexico a non-gun state country? they can't have guns. why would you ship guns to a country especially cartels where you know it will harm people on both sides of the border? it boggles my mind. jillian: it has been frustrating, can't count the amount of times you try to get answers. >> this is america. we should have the best justice system in the world. we would be in jail right now. democrats preaching the last year and a half nobody is above the law, prove it, you have major corruption here, the whole country is running like crazy. not one person has been in prison. what is my brother out there for? rob: thank you for your time.
2:37 am
2:40 am
rob: airlines under 5 refusing refunds under the pandemic. jillian: the government's warning. >> reporter: it has been happening in the department of transportation has logged 25,000 complaints from passengers that airlines are refusing to give their money back up from 1500 complaints that they get at the agency. they have to offer cash refunds, not just vouchers that
2:41 am
they are significantly changed. the number of passengers drop by 20% since the pandemic, they are struggling to enforce safety guidelines telling flight attendants not to force passengers to wear face coverings and a message acquired by reuters american airlines said once up the gate the face covering policy becomes more lenient, the flight attendant's role is not enforcement with respect to the policy. jetblue told staff there will be challenges to enforcing the policy and it will not be possible for everyone to have a face covering. the responsibility falls on flight attendants, they demanded a federal plan of action to implement safety measures. there will be exceptions, somebody is older, without breathe, a child will not wear a mask the entire flight, there
2:42 am
will be religious reasons, all of that is laid out by airlines and flight attendants. it will be a process to see how we fly again. rob: the show will not go on, stay leaders pushing back on travis mccready's concert friday. representatives for mccready, the venue would enforce social distancing guidelines of all attendees would wear masks, the health department sent a cease-and-desist order but tickets still for sale. jillian: matthew mcconaughey offering unity in the fight against coronavirus. >> partisan politics is not what we need, we need a collection right now. this is a tug-of-war, we need all hands on the road if we are going to beat it.
2:43 am
jillian: telling fox news on special report coronavirus fight has been hijacked by partisan politics, he says it is not about political division in america should focus on taking care of one another. rob: a good message i don't know if anyone will listen to. what is coming up on "fox and friends". >> a great interview as well. 17 minutes from now. what is going on in washington dc but josh holly, the great state of missouri and mike o'brien in illinois. and michelson case with molly hemingway and tammy bruce, the judge will not throw out the

edited clip of william barr discussing michael flynn's case. >> when history looks back on this decision how do you think it will be written? >> histories written by the winners. depends on who is writing a history. >> reporter: in the full clip he said he believed dropping flynn's case upheld the rule of law. the cut was not intentional. rob: did not edit that out. that was not our edit. we didn't included because we only fall short of two clips that cbs did air. we should have looked at both and checks for a full transcript, a mistake i wish we hadn't made and one that i wish i hadn't made. we are sorry for that mistake. jillian: donald from calling for todd's firing over the incident. rob: chuck schumer plans to support joe biden amid the sexual part allegations. >> i encouraged joe biden's explanation. it is sufficient, he will be a great candidate, he will be a

2:50 am
a bit of unknowns, the biggest factor the changed is the fact they won't have practices or qualifying going into these races typically on a normal race weekend, the drivers would have an opportunity to get behind the wheel and have several crack positions, fight as well, have a better understanding of where their setup is before the race comes around, they are getting behind the wheel to go out and race at one of the racetracks at darlington raceway. that has the drivers on edge. with jimmy johnson, we are not really sure how this will play out, they are looking forward to getting behind the wheel, that will provide additional challenges. jillian: the statement on covid-19 modifications, it is a huge responsibility for us as a sport, we will learn as we go. the industry and the confidence that we can be first in here is
2:51 am
the nascar covid-19 precautions, all participants wearing face coverings, health screenings for people entering the track, participants completing e-learning tutorials by july 30 first. with all this in mind a lot of different sports facing different challenges as you know and a lot of them with convinced schedules. how will that play a role? >> we are doing a tremendous amount in a short period of time. that is different for the teams to adapt. we typically operate on a 38 weekend schedule. putting that many in the timeframe will be tough. the best teams rise to the occasion. the drivers and crew chiefs that have been paired together for many years thinking of our past champions with kyle busch and adam stevens, kevin harvey,
2:52 am
those guys have been together and warned of the ups and downs, they will be one of the more prevalent teams adapting quicker than others. rob: we are looking forward to it. we appreciate it. you can catch the race on sunday at 3:30 p.m. in thank you again. jillian: may be a lot of new nascar eyes. rob: a banner rated nascar race. elizabeth warren flubbing her fact on the severity of the coronavirus outbreak. >> we have 25,000 new infections a day and over 2000 deaths a day. i think those are the right numbers. rob: warren thought wrong, was quite high. the white house press secretary is letting her know it. jillian: the cover of gq, the social media response to the quarantine photo shoot. we will tell you about it. they're our parents...
2:53 am
our brothers and sisters. and our children. but now, they are more than that. they are forever our heroes, too. at prudential, we're fortunate to know and serve them. and we're grateful to the heroic men and women working on the front line to move our nation forward. to all the heroes, we thank you. . .
2:56 am
and over 2,000 deaths a day. i think that's the right numbers and some are estimating we could be at 200,000 cases a day by june. rob: senator warren spouting off covid-19 stats without a fact check and the press secretary had to set her straight. jillian: carley shimkus here with the reaction to the
2:57 am
correction. carley? carley: senator warren had no intention of becoming the topic of conversation at the white house press briefing that's what happened in kayleigh mcenany issued this correction. take a look. >> elizabeth warren erroneously said there were 25,000 new cases today. in fact there were less than 20,000. senator warren said there were 2,000 deaths in fact less than a thousand. i would encourage our democratic colleagues and all americans to put out correct information because it does have consequences. >> asked if numbers were correct he said yes. dr. birx told m |1 cenany they were inflated. given the unforgiving nature of social media. this has landed warren in hot water. really does anyone still believe her? stephanie accusing warren of lying to congress. another twitter user right here dianna says it's important we pass out good information. good for kayleigh, m |1 cenany
2:58 am
says these numbers are important because they can lead people to make critical decisions about when they can leaf their house and go to the doctor for cancer screenings, mammograms, et cetera. >> if there is one company where you think working from home would be easy it would have to be twitter. >> a lot of those tech companies. we talked about how this pandemic could change the way we do business. guys, it is happening. twitter ceo jack dorsey says his employees can work from home permanently. company released a statement if their companies are in a role or situation that nabletion them to work from home and they want to continue to do so forever, we will make that happen. if not, our offices will be their warm and welcomingselves. this twitter user right here says that he just wants to work. i want to work regardless. not just at home. but be working on sites. another twitter user says super. i hope the money he saves in overhead goes to his workers to pay rent, electric, internet
