1:15 am
pushing impeachment? >> i don't think they have any avenue. the most shocking thing to me when reading about nancy pelosi's reasoning for requesting that information was the fact she said they need it for impeachment, the democrats just can't let it go instead of calling congress back to take the business of the people and debate the important issues americans have right now nancy pelosi and her democrat colleagues are still focused on impeachment. shannon: this is what she said the house's long-standing right to obtain grand jury information pursuant to the house's impeachment power has now been upheld by the lower courts twice. these rulings are supported by decades of precedent and should be permitted to proceed. we wanted to read that statement. i'm curious how you feel this means as we are inching closer to 2020, we are couple months i
1:16 am
of this election. what does this mean timings otherwise? >> we are going through a pandemic, and economy that has been ravaged because of the forced shutdowns americans are trying to get the economy going again, get their lives back to normal nancy pelosi and the democrats are still focused on impeachment, democrats proved one thing during the regional impeachment inquiry and that is there was no collusion with russia, no wrongdoing with donald trump and ukraine. if anything with ukraine the wrongdoing was with hunter biden, the vice president's son and i'm glad the u.s. senate is starting to look into that because somebody needs to be held accountable. >> we will get to that in one second and talk more about hunter and burisma in just a second but for people that feel like impeachment is never going to end, mitch mcconnell, let's go ahead and listen. >> house democrats now claiming the impeachment that ended in
1:17 am
february is not really over, perpetual investigation, perpetual impeachment, house democrats would rather spend a fourth consecutive year trying to cram their politics into the legal system than actually given the country. >> this probe didn't help the democrats politically. a lot of people would help donald trump. why would they go back to this? it seems very politically damning. >> democrats do not have a plan for america. they don't have an agenda. their sole focus is to try to win the presidency back and they feel the only way to do that is impeachment. i don't know that mobilizes the liberal wing of the democrat party but i can tell you in the last two special elections the republicans won and won by double-digit margins even a suburban district in california so i believe the american people are sick and tired of democrats which went against the president, they want congress to
1:18 am
get back to work, they want nancy pelosi to emerge from her multimillion dollar mansions get back to work, we have problems in america congress needs to debate. jillian: vote along party lines issuing subpoena for blue star strategies, a firm with ties to the ukrainian gas company burisma holdings. let's take a listen to what chuck schumer and ron johnson said about this. >> to bow down to donald trump's wild conspiracy theories is overtaken just about every senate republican. >> democrats are objecting. maybe they are protesting too much. it raises my suspicion level. shannon: what is your opinion on this? >> of democrats are confident hunter biden and joe biden are innocent they should let the investigation proceed. i have a lot of questions.
1:19 am
people need to be held accountable. we covered a coup attempt in congress and that is what the democrats tried to do. they tried to impeach a duly elected president of the united states. they had no evidence, no basis, they have proven that and as republicans are trying to hold people accountable for this and get to the bottom of the genesis of the russian collusion investigation the one missing piece of the puzzle is what role did hunter biden have in relationships with ukraine and was joe biden trying to cover that up. this needs to be answered and i am glad the senate is proceeding with it. shannon: a lot of people are curious how hunter biden got all that money from the ukrainian gas company, none of that made any sense, thanks for your time. appreciate it. >> thanks for having me. jillian: it is 19 after they are, winning a fight to honor our heroes, a company getting a

>> back with a fox news alert, calls ramping up for a federal investigation into the nursing home crisis that has occurred during this pandemic. >> blue states are putting a shocking number of deaths. new york's governor is blaming the president. >> calls are growing for a federal investigation into the massive number of deaths in nursing homes in a number of states like new york, new jersey, pennsylvania and michigan. the most intense heat is focused on andrew cuomo who shrugged off calls for the department of justice to open an investigation into the more than 5000 of them elderly patients in new york nursing homes. cuomo claimed when it came to nursing homes taking in covid-19
1:32 am
patients. he was following guidelines from the trump administration and the cdc. >> anyone who wants to ask why did they do that it is because the state followed donald trump's cdc guidance so they should ask donald trump. >> cries for an investigation continue to grow, the scrutiny revolves around march 20 fifth order requiring nursing homes to take on new patients infected with covid-19 and why the care facilities were prohibited from requiring hospitalized residents to be tested for the illness prior to admission readmission. governor cuomo blamed the white house a shocking new government accountability office report reveals infectious deficiencies in nursing homes were widespread prior to the outbreak. the report shows the 202013-201782% of nursing homes

justice warns the governor against infringing on religious freedom and focusing on things like giving money to illegal immigrants and tent cities for the homeless. former chairman of the republican party, they will try to recall governor newsom. he joins me with more on that. what does it take to recall the governor. is it possible? >> it is possible that a growing thing. gavin newsom has been rolling through, last year we had a fire season ravaged fires, shutdowns in power which could start up again this year because they are preparing to turn the power off again. with regard to how newsom, in mid-march he said 56% of californians could get covid-19. that would be 20 million people. how many have actually had it? in the thousands, not the
1:36 am
millions. he has been careening with his comment in the church issue is important because for many weeks now, may 3, '01, over 3000 churches are going to be open in defiance of whatever newsom is saying he's going to do so he may say meaningful changes are coming but that is because the last time i was on with you i secretary little secret, they can't enforce the rules, that is about to happen as well. >> the doj has a letter to the governor taking issue with this and what is happening with the religious and software, there's no pandemic exception to the constitution and bill of rights. laws that do not treat religious activities equally with comparable nonreligious activities are subject to heightened scrutiny under the free exercise clause of the first amendment. what is it california is allowing people to do that would be comparable to going into a

church and being near people in that environment? >> out here, social media is filled with the line that costco, home depot and the like where they see many many people in close quarters. why can't churches social distance themselves, that is possible and that is where the rub is. he consistently said it is okay to have these lines and sell things like children's clothes but smaller stores can't. that is why the county, 442,000 people voted in defiance of him to go ahead and open without asking their permission first. some counties have, some aren't now and that is because gavin newsom is losing control of the control he wants over these people. shannon: you take issue with the action the governor has been
1:38 am
making, 3500 inmates have been released early from jail because of the outbreak, $75 million in relief funding for illegal immigrants and proposing to close two prisons to free up $400 million annually. what does that say to you about his priorities? >> absolutely. a couple days ago he talked about threatening to lay off first responders. within 24 hours he was signing up to give money to those here illegally. what is your priority? he has a rich tradition of threatening voters with taking away something unless they agree to higher taxes or some other form that he desires. here's a case where he is giving money away to people who are here illegally but say i am going to cut first responders. it is shameful actually and that is why this recall is coming.
1:39 am
>> if you live in california you are in phase 2, phase 3 apparently would open up the churches so maybe you are only a couple weeks away. we will see. always good to have you on, we will be right back.
