provider planned parenthood abused this emergency process and grabbed tens of millions of dollars of taxpayer money for which they were completely completely ineligible. >> 27 gop senators urging attorney general william barr to investigate planned parenthood. >> a fox news exclusive reveals the abortion provider was given $80 million in ppp loans. >> here is harmeet dhillon. >> happy to be here, thank you. >> fewer than 500 employees are eligible, planned parenthood says their affiliates qualify for the loan. what do you say? >> it is completely inappropriate the these affiliates which are clinics throughout the united states that perform largely abortions violated the law.
1:14 am
the law but put this program in place requires companies that apply ford have to demonstrate they have a need, they are affected negatively by covid-19. throughout the majority of the united states most of these clinics were able to keep doing abortions, they were not affected, they one of the few that were not affected so they lied to banks and lied under the federal program and they should give the money back. >> a letter from 27 different gop senators, we urge you to investigate the activities of dozens of planned parenthood affiliates, the paycheck protection program is designed to help struggling small businesses not to give government funds to politicize partisan abortion providers, planned parenthood says this is purely political and they were eligible for this. your response to their perspective? >> many of the big companies taking the politics out and taking the abortion out of a lot of big companies got their hand caught in the cookie jar, took the money because they thought it was free and big banks give it away to them but this is a 0-sum game. every one of the $80 million planned parenthood took which they were not entitled to means
1:15 am
tens of thousands of small businesses that are mom and pop businesses that needed that money, that was the purpose for which it was granted by the government didn't get it. there's only a limited amount of money so that is what is at stake, planned parenthood took money from people who really needed and they should be ashamed and should give it back. >> you are seeing 37 other affiliates received $80 million in loans, let's go to this direct quote from planned parenthood, quote, it has nothing to do with planned parenthood's healthcare organization eligibility for covid-19 relief efforts and everything to do with the trump administration using a political agenda and distract from their own failures in protecting the american public from the spread of covid-19 but this is a little different from what they said in march as we go to this quote from march 2, '05, the bill gives the small business administration broad discretion to exclude planned parenthood affiliates and other nonprofits
1:16 am
serving people with low incomes and deny them benefits. what do you think changed between march 20 fifth and now? >> let me tell you how this program operated. i'm a small business owner and i went through this process. if you had a good relationship with a bank they look the other way, easy to process a contribution to an existing lender or customer a small mom and pop standing on its own 2 feet and never needed a loan. they took advantage of this program and shame on the banks, the banks have a gatekeeper role, they were supposed to make sure people signed off if they needed in and approved it, they haven't done that and it is not just planned parenthood, there are big companies that did it that called out by treasury and they gave the money back and they should do the same. >> they had to really fix a lot of problems the way they handled small businesses. let's move on and talk about vaccination. everyone's getting excited at the possibility this fall we
1:17 am
could have a lot of vaccines available. the idea that maybe we might have to take this vaccine, we might be mandated to. here is alan dershowitz. >> the vaccine is extremely safe, to tell you, if you don't want to take the vaccine you have an option. what you don't have the right to recirculate in society without being vaccinated. rob: what using of this? the idea they might force you to take this needle? >> there is another part of this. if you don't want to take the vaccine able grab your arm and jabbed a needle into you. that is not united states law. is correct they can restrict you from certain activities, schools, if children are not vaccinated, they can't go to public schools but we do have individual liberty and autonomy under the constitution but society has its interest as well. it is dicey to expect a lot of americans to take a vaccine that
1:18 am
is barely tested and hastily rolled out. i'm not eager to take it until a few million people taken and don't drop dead. it is rational to take vaccines after they have been tested. it is great for some people, young people, healthy people but if you have respiratory issues or older you might wait and see how it goes. rob: the first person in the pool in this with how fast it was developed, appreciate it. 18 after the hour. annual run to remember tribute to fallen heroes forced to adjust because of covid-19 restrictions. >> run by the wife of a soldier killed in afghanistan and she says the pandemic won't stop her from making the event a success. you will meet her and how you can help next. you doing okay?

centers and again when they report to basic training facilities. jillian: every memorial day americans come together to honor the heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice. one military family in particular made it their mission to fulfill an annual tribute after losing a husband and father in 2009. >> my name is heidi. i'm running for my dad. it is memorial day. brave men and women dressed like my dad. >> that traditional different this year. their run to remember is going virtual and they are asking runners to join them from wherever they may be despite the pandemic. deputy director and cofounder lisa allen joins me with her call back, thanks for being here. >> reporter: thing for having me. jillian: tell me about the loss of your husband, tell me about him and what this means to you.
1:24 am
>> he was my favorite. he was brave and passionate about his country and he served and we were on a life on fast-forward. so this memorial day where. remember his teams with team red, white and blue and we are calling on our country to come together to take steps in honor of our fallen servicemembers. jillian: you have a goal of 50,000 runners. nothing is the same as it used to be. a lot of people are going into jim's a lot of places, a lot of people going outdoors and running or walking, you have a lot of people who otherwise may not have done this. >> 50,000 people feel like an audacious goal.
1:25 am
we still have servicemembers all over the globe in harms way and so it is more important than ever to come together and remain committed to our responsibility to honor and remember our nation so even though it is a world that is different than we are used to it is a unique opportunity to have a shared experience, to build community and connection and to take a moment and honor and remember servicemembers. >> it is emotional for you and your family and your loved ones. i imagine it will be emotional as you get pictures and video of people participating across the country, out there running high for friends memories and everyone else who fought for our country. >> each week i have a call from
1:26 am
goldstar children in mentorship programs. on yesterday's call i told them about thousands of people who would remember their fallen parents who were taking the time to pause on memorial day, their eyes were so big and the biggest families of fallen were terrified their loved ones would be forgotten and there's immense power for us to come together for a shared experience but for families of the fallen one can know the we are not alone and to know that we have a grateful nation who runs with us. jillian: you had a lot of help, amazon and its military vets have joined in creating a virtual training program. they can race and volunteer and donate, if there watching and want to get involved words they go to find out more information?
1:27 am
's >> this memorial day is about bringing everyone together for a no cost virtual run. we have to have people visit our website to commit to run a walk on memorial day. where blue, run to remember, team red, white and blue will provide the stories of fallen servicemembers for you to honor. we went you to continue to be part of our community and stupid inspired by the sacrifice for the american military and donate, join us at an upcoming race when life is back to normal, take purposeful steps in remembrance of our fallen. away for us to come together in a meaningful community. >> where blue, run to remember.org/memorial day, thank you for sharing the story and i hope it is a success as i imagine it will be and we will be right back.

jillian: joe biden asking amy klobuchar to begin the vetting process for vice president. >> lawmakers trade barbs over subpoenas for his son hunter's work in ukraine. >> more than barbs as investigations into the obama administration, nancy pelosi blasting mitch mcconnell accusing him of putting politics ahead of the nation's business writing it is sad the gop senate has chosen to be complicit in the president asked desperate tactics. i call only to mcconnell take a
1:32 am
pause in the gop obstruction of meeting the needs of the american people but mcconnell shot back that oversight is a responsibility. >> you are not in position to be lecturing us about the appropriate use of senate time. the house and spend time on the basis impeachment effort we should at least have oversight over what has happened to initiate this process a couple years ago. rob: house foreign affairs committee chairman elliott angle threatening to subpoena mike pompeo for documents provided to the senate committee investigating hunter biden writing the letter of the state department i'm deeply concerned by what appears to be a partisan -- a political smear of democratic presidential nominee, joe biden, this says a list from senators to governors to obama
1:33 am
administration alumni emerges as possible running mates for biden. one name in particular, amy klobuchar believes to be on the shortlist after she was asked to submit to the vetting process. biden was pressed on it by stephen colbert. >> on the shortlist. >> amy is -- >> is first on the list? >> i'm not getting into that. >> interesting interview. biden said he would put republicans in his administration saying restoring the country isn't a partisan issue. >> thanks. >> fox news alert, the fbi on the hunt for a second suspect in the naval air station shooting in corpus christi texas after confirming it was in fact error related. >> this just days after the doj shooter was in contact with al qaeda. sources with the investigation, here with expert insight his former cia station steve dan
1:34 am
hoffman, good to see you this morning. where are we in this investigation? what comes next? >> the fbi is conducting forensics of the crime scene. we have the car, the shooter which the shooter rammed into the front gate. obviously that car registration, electronic media, what the fbi can do as much as we can about the shooter in the shooter's network because there's apparently a second person of interest whom the fbi is actively looking for. >> no indication at this point that this was a student at that base for the this was an inside job. almost seems like it wasn't well thought out. just kind of happened. what do you think of that? >> the facility is a high-profile facility but the method of attack, ramming a car into the front gate indicates it was not someone who was based there. if it were student with a id the
1:35 am
attack could have happened inside but didn't. it is important to note as well that the base has surveillance cameras and is likely if this person followed traditional terrorist methods they would have been there before the attack. we may have surveillance video of this person as well. >> is what the doj is to say, quote, the permit of justice counterterrorism section is working closely with the fbi, the us attorney's office in the district of texas and other authorities expeditiously investigate the circumstances of this event and all available evidence including electronic media found at the scene. this reads we are not ruling out any possible motives and continue to investigate all leads. when we are able to release additional information we will do so. you look at the information we got the other day about the pensacola naval air station, how deserving is it that we are dealing with something else that
1:36 am
is being ruled this terrorism? >> it is incredibly disturbing, the pensacola shooter was radicalized in 2015, in touch with the arabian peninsula terrorist affiliate and that is of concern because even though we eliminated the isis caliphate and deprived al qaeda of the ungoverned space they use to occupy in afghanistan for the most part in pakistan they are still active in cyberspace so something the fbi will be doing is determining whether the active shooter at corpus christi naval airbase might have been radicalized online. the intelligence community with help from the cia and others will be providing assistance in determining whether this individual was in contact with overseas terrorists or domestic networks and that is important
1:37 am
as well to determine if there are others seeking to do is. jillian: i should say tara related. rob: let's talk about the president pulling out of this opens guys tree that has been around since the 90s when the soviet union fell apart, a way to keep tabs on each other, tell us about this treaty and why the president is doing this. >> it was a good idea with good intentions to provide transparency allowing overflights over military facilities, 34 nations signed that treaty. a lot of nato allies, the problem is i don't blame the president for being frustrated, russia does violate every treaty they sign, what they have done it chemical weapons and nuclear forces treaty as well. it is understandable that we would want to not be a part of something the russians are so brazenly violating.
1:38 am
the same time our allies are going to stay in it and the russians will seek to use it to their advantage, the treaty even if we decide to withdraw won't go into effect for another 6 months. that does allow donald trump and his team to negotiate a better solution to this. >> we appreciate it. jillian: 38 after they are, 1200 set up california faith leaders making it clear religious services are essential. rob: some plans old in person services with month with or without the governor's blessing, that message coming up next.

1:41 am
jillian: welcome back. life is continuing to open up in italy as covid-19 deaths continue to drop but now it is
1:42 am
facing a bribery scandal after coronavirus emergency coordinator and several others are arrested for corruption. amy kellogg has a look at one of the hardest to countries is reopening. >> reporter: we were the first western country to protect hit hard by coronavirus, the whole world is watching to see how italy gets back to business and we are nearing the end of the first real week of normality here and from a business perspective it doesn't seem that things are going all that well. the extra measures that have been required for businesses to undertake have been costly. you should be seeing a barcode scanner in a restaurant so it can be downloaded to customer smart phones, making it unnecessary for them to touch paper copies of menus. one estimate out this morning says 90,000 out of 300,000 bars
1:43 am
and restaurants remain closed and may never reopen. there is hope that italy's beaches will be irresistible to tourists, local and foreign. they are getting ready for a socially distant summer but not being right on top of the sunbathers next to you might be a very nice thing this summer. italy has had 228,000 228,006 cases of covid-19, 32,486 deaths, this is the sicilian coronavirus czar was arrested for rigging health sector tenders before the coronavirus crisis along with nine other people. 's arrest warrant described it as, quote, and absolutely alarming picture of the level of the legality in the healthcare system where systemic corruption allowed very large and illicit processes and finally there has been many reports the mafia has taken advantage of this situation, people who were badly
1:44 am
hit economically have been turning to the mafia as white knights and they don't give any help out of the goodness of their hearts, they are doing this to have some very indebted people down the road. rob: religious groups across california uniting to deify their stay-at-home order, 1200 religious leaders saying the governor can't take away their right to worship promising to hold services again by the end of this month. joining me now or three of the movement's leaders, robert tyler from advocates for faith and freedom, pastor jack higgs from chino hills and rabbi michael bartlett the temple in westlake village, thank you for coming on, we appreciate it and we will start with you. california is in phase 2, phase 3 will open the churches a couple weeks away.
1:45 am
why do this now? >> i can tell you that this movement started when the governor said that it was months off before churches would be coming back together. frankly this movement, these churches that come together is i believe what caused the governor to begin rethinking his position about churches. certainly the attorney general's letter yesterday was very helpful, but this has been something that has been planned and it is important to say this is about caring for the people, the community, congregation and that is the impetus behind this. they help now because there's a lot of devastation. rob: let's listen to the governor from yesterday. >> my biggest fear is we pull back too quickly and are not driven by data and the fact but
1:46 am
by protests, politics. i fear that we developed a little bit of amnesia, we have forgotten the a romance of this virus. >> you have held some outdoor services at your church. respond to with the governor just said. >> we saw no movement from the governor whatsoever until we began letting him know that we were going to be opening up our churches and what we have done in preparation on sunday nights, we have been hosting outdoor social distancing prayer meetings getting ready for our may 30 first launch but the fact of the matter is we were compliance when donald trump said give us 15 days, we did that. when donald trump asked another 15 days we did that. then it went under the control or oversight of our governor, failed to address the churches, kept kicking the churches down
1:47 am
the road and wouldn't address them, wouldn't acknowledge fourth guest due to lack of leadership to notify him we are going to open up on pentecost sunday and that announcement, there are thousands or several thousand churches in california that have signed on to join. rob: it is interesting, you got a big following in this letter, 1200 is a big number. you have an interesting problem, trying to hold your services online, your streaming them online but i understand some of the people that go there are not allowed to use electricity. they can't use electricity. is that right? >> that is correct. we have a couple different challenges with our communities of trans-denominational community meaning we have one conservative and unorthodox member of the community. very observant, you can't use electricity on the sabbath which prohibits you from streaming, it
1:48 am
forces the a and you to make the decision to i break with civil law and come to a service or do i break the jewish law and watch it online? that is not fair. the additional issue, the big issue in a lot of ways, there are prayers we can't do without ten people present, specifically prayers for the dead. we can to mourn properly our dead. we have a process called a shiver meeting where after the funeral people go back to a home. they can't do it. for a woman to be married for six years and go home alone now want to comfort her and give her solace and that is painful to be part of so i hope we can change that. rob: you are fighting to get open and you are doing it, sounds like very soon either way and you sent a message to the governor. thank you for your time, we appreciate seeing both sides of

it is dramatically lower, salaries tend to be somewhat lower. >> the way the story broke his zuckerberg cutting employee salaries, sensationalized at line, the real news is working from home will be a permanent thing and if you moved to a cheaper location your salary will reflect that but he is getting heat on social media. everyone makes as little as possible and another person chiming in saying i don't think facebook will be relevant in 5 to 10 years. they will be doing okay. >> replacing it might be difficult, that is the most popular thing. take a look at this. >> it is drizzling a little here, $9 off at rite aid and it went up.
