eric: you know, you talk about the case a few years ago which i covered in your state, down there. at that point a sheriff was accused of manipulating and helping to fake i guess these absentee ballots and there was a federal plea. i mean, this really gets to the heart of what this country stands for, the very basis of our democracy and what people died for, to protect the integrity and credibility of the election system. >> memorial day was a couple days ago and many of the brave service men and women fought and died for our country and her freedoms. and now here we have the right to vote, the integrity of the ballot box which is being put at stake. that's not a laughing matter. i think that's why the president is right in the debate. we have to make sure that we're checking for voter id, there's a tight chain of custody so that everyone's right to vote is being protected.
