over here. watches of switzerland. sells rolex watches. the good piece of news today i just talked to the owners. they have said they had already removed all of their merchandise, all of their jewelry so not a single piece of item was stolen. but lots of glass broken all over the place. they are here. they are cleaning up. and they are heart-broken as you said. let's take a look at some video now earlier that we just shot in the last hour. police have made arrests earlier today. in fact, three people just arrested right in front of a confiscated bags of stolen merchandise from their their car had arizona plates on it. so out of state. and my colleague, brian earlier tonight saw multiple out of state plates, new jersey, pennsylvania, connecticut, so clearly these are outsiders come in to loot. i want to show you some video from the worst of the looting overnight. hundreds of people swarming into soho this shopping district. witnesses say as early as 11:00

p.m. they showed up and it went on for hours until about 4:00 a.m. our crews saw vehicles stolen to the brim. people hopping from one store to the next. garbage bags full of stolen goods. even using city bikes here to get away with their goods. and started breaking off into smaller groups. this is really a game of cat and mouse. more of them, less of the police. police would move from one corner to another. the looters would then move, too. and break into the stores. they brought hammers. we saw some box cutters. they were prepared. and they were even breaking threw the plywood. that some stores had tried to put up earlier yesterday. the night stearated with thousands of protesters swarming barclay center last night. those protesters shut down the manhattan bridge. then they marched from brooklyn over to manhattan. it's really hard to believe, guys. that those peaceful protesters are the same people that came here to soho to loot.
3:04 am
it's really hard to put those two groups together. we really do think that a lot of these folks that came here today were from out of state, lots of out-of-state license plates. they are still moving around the area. we have seen them drive past in cars. they make eye contact with me and my crew. they look at us and check us out they say you are not intimidating and get out and see what we can grab. brian: aishah, quick question, i understand there were stores that hired private security to protect their place. i have think it was even the nike store. don't you think that today, looking arranged, it's up to each individual store to actually provide their own security because even though we have 41,000 nypd, it clearly is not enough? >> it's not enough, brian. and the reason is because there is so much going on all over the burrows. the nypd is stretched thin. and the looters know that. they come here almost with a plan. they have a plan of action. you are right there.

were some stores with security. we were told, again, by our crew that was here earlier in the evening and they said those stores were safe because they had hired security. but i have seen in the last 24 hours. i have seen several stores putting up plywood sort of preparing for this and that wasn't enough. the plywood was torn off. people brought tools. they brought the box cutters. the hammers. they were ready they were ready to go shopping. steve: yeah. you know, and aishah as we look at your live shot there in soho over in chicago yesterday. mayor light foot said that the violence seemed to be preplanned because she said, you know, somebody will break in to a store and a u-haul will magically appear right in front of the door just as they break, in just to cart off all of the stuff. you know, we don't know who, if anybody, is organizing this. but there does seem to be some orchestration or some planning.
3:06 am
>> even if -- you are right. even, steve, if it's just a group of friends. we have seen groupings of four, five, six people. both male, female. i have saw a group of three girls walking down the street in front of clear view of the police. they were rolling a suitcase, a carry-on and carrying shopping bags. so, yeah. they have a plan. they come in a group of people. they have make sure they have someone in a get away car that's ready to pick them up and they get out of here. and it's not going to be surprising if this continues because i mean, these business owners they know. i mean, they are trying to prevent this as much as possible but it's been happening pretty much every night. it won't be surprising if it happens again tonight. ainsley: we keep hearing people say none of this is about george floyd. ruining a meaningful protest. and the mayor of atlanta said this is not in the spirit of mld jr. aishah, stay safe down there. all right. it's 6:06 on the east coast.

3:15 am
steve: it's just heart-breaking. i believe there are two groups of people. i think there are the people who show up and do the protesting. and then there is another group and, you know, i don't know if it's organized. or not. but they are obviously using george floyd as an excuse for criminality. and you know, case in point, the new york city police department before the riots start, they said that organizers were trying to raise money for bail for anybody who is arrested. and recruited medics and essentially medical teams in case any of them were injured by the police. and then they would have bike scouts go out and figure out okay, where aren't the police? where is an abandoned police vehicle that we could catch on fire? so obviously there is some organization. the big question is who is behind it. we saw over the weekend some images of people who apparently, it appears, money is trading

hands. and i have sources in midtown in the police department who are wondering is there big money backing this? and, if so, who is it? because right now, brian, we just don't know. brian: we don't know. you wonder if the president is going to be an address on this. it can't be about democrats or republicans. >> it has to be about restoring order in the country and moving forward. expressing outrage at the george floyd was treated. meanwhile, attorney general bill barr warning groups like antifa they will be treatied like domestic terrorist. brett tolman on why this is the right move next. ♪ ♪

and the police officers working together. i saw evidence of people from the communities coming out and getting into fights with protesters just last night. not to do this in our community. so, it's going to take that type of action to stands up. this will be -- law enforcement as always at the front, leading the way in many respects. but when -- if it's a law enforcement only action, that's when i know that it's going to take more than that. brian: all right, commissioner, mayor de blasio has asked you to use reportedly according to the -- show. i believe the nypd knows thousand handle protest and respect whoever is protesting. i want to see a light touch because people are undeniably angry for a reason. really a light touch and they wrecked just about every major block in new york city? is that hampering and hamstringing your men and women's ability to police this city? >> well, we know how to be very fluid.
3:48 am
and when you talk about a light touch, we actually go into protests that way. if you look at yesterday in new york city, we had thousands and thousands of people protesting all day and not really an incident. whether it was brooklyn, whether it was queens, whether it was here in manhattan, you know, people were standing, they were voicing concern. at times they were kneeling and walking together with the officers. not always. sometimes there was some agitation. but it was exactly how it should be. we believe in a light touch. we are also very capable to respond to multiple situations. and every situation is fluid. so we'll deal with whatever is in front of us and deal with it accordingly. steve: all right. commissioner shae we thank you for joining us on a very, very busy day in the new york city area. thank you, sir. ainsley: thank you. >> thank you for having me. steve: all right. meanwhile, about a dozen minutes before the top of the hour on
3:49 am

3:53 am
eyewitness ains as brawmp moves to designate antifa over domestic violence. next guest says he won't let niece rioters destroy beloved city of atlanta. i hear that moving into the buck head area and glued to the television all weekend i know you have as well watching all of this unfold. so do we have state representative vernon jones with us. >> i'm here. ainsley: i think they are trying to get him. there you go tell us about the situation down. >> there obviously a situation in atlanta. legitimate protesters wanted to come out and exercise their first amendment right and make it known how they feel about what happened in minneapolis
3:54 am
however. that was hijacked by looters and thugs and hoodlums who did not in any way honor the gentleman's life and those other lives that were lost in unfortunate situations. but i will tell you tha it's a leadership issue. it starts at the local level. when you dial 911, it goes to local fire and police not to washington, d.c. so you have to be organized at a local level. have support from surrounding jurisdictions, law enforcement agencies, and then that gives you the backbone so you can handle this as a former county executive and manage manage and managing a large police department i knew exactly from day one you cannot under estimate what these professional thugs and others are dual with antifa going city to city. when we saw what happened in minneapolis we should are been prepared. i really appreciate the job that governor kemp has done. he put in the national guard, the state troopers. is he working well with our mayor. and the first night they were not organized. by that second evening, by last
3:55 am
night as well, they were much more prepared and addressing the issues. ainsley: the governor organized 3,000 national guard troops to be deployed to the city. that is a good thing. hopefully keep some of the violence down. the president said he i is going to designate antifa as a terrorist organization. you you have been a lifelong democrat and say you are going to vote for president trump. >> what's your message to those who are rioting. >> atlanta do not want you here. you are not a part of his family. that's not how we communicate and get along here and that we will run you out of town and they need to be designated as a terrorist group. a domestic terrorist group. i appreciate the leadership shown by the president to provide the support to state and local levels, again the feds are going to have to target this group. with technology now with doing face recognition and other things, we can track these
3:56 am
hoodlums down and we can bring an end to this they are professional and they have been well funded and organized. this is not just one or two people. this is an organization. they have a pattern. they are going literally in city to city. and local leadership is needed. i will tell you this: you cannot make a political decision when it comes to public safety and public health because if you are going to say 100 people can't gather in a church but thousands can gather on the street and not be arrested. steve: indeed. >> those hoodlums cannot be arrested. that tells you can't be soft with. they you have to go after them. steve: vernon jones, we thank you very much for joining us live. we'll be right back.

new voltaren provides powerful arthritis pain relief to help me keep moving. and it can help you too. feel the joy of movement with voltaren. go home now. brian: dozens of cities under curfew violent clashes and mass protests begi continue to rage r the death of george floyd, perhaps. at least 6 secret service agents injured at the white house as erupt beyond. steve: the historic st. john's church in washington set on fire overnight. it was built in 1815.
4:01 am
known as the church of the presidents because every president since james madison has attended at least one service there thankfully, the police were able to escort the fire department in and they put the fire out quickly. 62,000 national guard troops deployed are on stand by. look at the screen right there at that map across 27 states and the district of columbia, ainsley. ainsley: that's right. steve, storms looting stores in new york city and smashing glass and leaving nothing inside the stores behind. we have live team coverage in morning. mark meredith is live in washington near capitol hill. first we will begin with aishah hasnie down in new york city where looters have left major damage behind. aishah, this is the city you and i live in and we love. i can't believe the images. >> good morning to you. you know what in the looting is still going on. it's daylight now. we have actually seen several people get out of cars. kind of scope the area and see what's left to pick up whatever
4:02 am
is still out here. take a look behind me. this is the that nell store whatever is left of it really. this is one of the many, many stores in this district this shopping district called solo in downtown new york city. that really just had the windows smashed through. people jumping in and just a little while ago about 30 minutes ago we saw some people drive up here and see what was left. reach in and grab a shoe and grab a lipstick and just try to take whatever they could. i want to show you some video of what we were seeing when things were just at their worst. hundreds of people swarming into this area as early as 11:00 p.m. it. went on and on until about 4:00 a.m. our crews saw vehicles filled to the brim about w. stolen luxury items. we talked to some folks in the area that live here. they are upset. they are wondering why there weren't more arrests. why the nypd they felt like didn't do enough. we actually spoke to the police commissioner not too long ago. let's go ahead and listen to
4:03 am
what he had to say about what just happened. >> when it got dark, things changed and they changed rapidly. we anticipated it. they use -- you saw large groupings of people had no inclination protest. >> some big box stores, big brand names like that nell. some of them are small businesses i want to bring in someone who lives here in new york city. his wife owns a small business here in soh homplet that was looted just a few hours ago. we are not going to reveal his identity. i just want to ask you, sir, tell me what happened to your wife's store. >> i got a text about 1:00 in the morning from my wife saying that her store had been broken into. i was actually in process of driving over the bridge just to come to see what was going on. and we pulled up. the front door the gate was
4:04 am
down. but it was only down because of a neighbor had put it back down and put his bike lock on the gate to keep it down. and the other neighbor showed us footage of the break. in. >> they took a lot of stuff. tell me, you have been walking around in dismay. can i see it on your face. this is not the soho that you know. is your heart just breaking right now? >> um, yeah, this is a bit more surreal than anything, i guess, the experience of like walking around and watch young youth just take and break in stuff and run out with tons of merchandise. it was very surreal being here for the last three hours. >> tell me what you are feeling. i know we heard some people talk about the nypd. did they do enough? you know, did they go far enough? what are you thinking? >> there were some arrests that we seen. but i don't feel it was nearly enough, especially when i drove up specifically three different times to at least 20 to 30
4:05 am
officers and ask them please go around the corner to prince street. can you apprehend these individuals. they are doing it right now. that's why i just drove up to you to tell you this. and they did nothing. >> thanks for talking to us. i hope your wife's store recovers. we will pray for you. we have seen police out here, guys, still walking around. we have seen some arrests made. the looting continues. seeing people grab whatever they can. back to you guys. brian: aishah, thank you. that is sickening to hear that 30 cops are sitting around and not doing anything. the other thing you want to wonder where in the hell was the national guard? we have a dry run on four previous days. the national guard sits at penn station every single day. unbelievable. why weren't they implemented? mark meredith. ainsley: they have it on tape. maybe they can use that tape to prosecute downtown road. >> they are all wearing masks and running 10 100 miles per ho.
4:06 am
these guys where are their parents 18 to 30 years old. i don't see one middle aged person in there mark meredith is on capitol hill with a look at the destruction. mark, what are you seeing? >> brian, good morning. later on officials will get a chance to surveil all the damage in washington, d.c. after protests protests turned into riot. this was prosecutor chaos. lafayette park. area adjacent to the white house where secret service were trying to keep people back. that did not stop protesters from throwing things like rocks, bottles, fireworks, you pretty much name it. they were being thrown at the secret service. at least 60 of their uniformed and special agents were hurt over the weekend. we think that number is a whole lot higher. across the nation's capital there was a curfew imposed last night and the national guard was activated; however, did that did not stop vandals from hitting stores all across the district. there was also a fire set as you mentioned at the top of the show
4:07 am
inside st. john's church. very close to the white house. however, we are still waiting to see exactly how bad the damage is going to be. now let's talk about the law enforcement side of all of this. we got a statement from the attorney general bill barr on sunday about how the administration views all. this he says, quote: the violence instigated and carried out by antifa and other similar groups in connection with with the rioting is domestic terrorism and will be treated accordingly. now, later on this morning, president trump is set to meet face to face with the attorney general in the oval office. the president is also scheduled to hold a teleconference with governors and law enforcement over how to keep the country safe. that's going to be happening later on this morning. as of now, there is no national address on the president's public schedule. did he not make any on camera comments yesterday. he tweeted quite a bit. steve, ainsley and brian we will see if the president halls any public comments later on today. none on the schedule as of now. back to you guys. steve: all right. mark meredith on the streets of washington. thank you very much. dan bongino, fox news
4:08 am
contributor, former new york city police department officer and also a former secret service agent dan, good morning to you. >> good morning. steve: i can't imagine being a secret service guy or gal over this past weekend. the news is apparently i believe it was friday night there was such a -- such violence or threat of violence outside the gates of the white house. they took the president to the bunker which never happens and 60 secret service officers injured. molotov cocktails. bottles, rocks, all sorts of stuff. this is a tough time to be somebody who is in the law enforcement business. >> yeah, it is, steve. it's not easy to be on the air this morning. it isn't. really did you go back and forth between rage and fear and anxiety. my kids are scared i had
4:09 am
8-year-old daughter saying they are not coming to florida, are they. she knows i was a secret service agent. i watched saint johns the church. do you know how many times i stood post in that majestic church in across the street from the white house as a agent. it was a sunday morning ritual for many years. that beautiful church. you are burning the church? i spoke up this morning feeling like a bad movie a nightmare. none of us can wake up-to-from it, i think what are you doing? i spent years on president obama's detail. and, steve, you could not have disagreed with the man more than i did. i proudly went to work every day and defended the president of the united states. he was my president even though i disagreed with him. i never once thought because i disagreed with him that i would show up at the white house and start a riot. i have been in communication with friends of mine.
4:10 am
the tactics being used at the white house are very sophisticated. they are lifting and shifting and moving around trying to hit strategic points of the white house. and friends of mine have informed me that known antifa leadership is there organizing this this is not just criminality by people looking for something to do. there are people there to cause troubling. this is sophisticated insurrection kind of attack. this is not a joke. identified members of what is now a terror group trying to take down the seat of our government. don't you understand what's going on right now? this is not about george floyd anymore. gosh, i wish it was. we had a sincere moment of national unity where everyone agreed, even our police officers that this abhorrent. who is talking about that now? you know what the answer? nobody. we are talking about insurrection. this is not a joke. this has to stop now. they better get a damn lid on,
4:11 am
this stat, or this is not going to end well. ainsley: dan, you talk about the church. st. john's episcopal church and i was reading this morning that thankfully the sanctuary was not damaged. they burned out the nursery that had just been enkno renovated. that's where children go to learn about christ. now witness been devastated. >> bill barr and the president need to legally decapitate antifa today. we need high profile arrest right now. i think it's 18 us. 12101 for rioting today. we need this we feed full mobile mobilization of our national guard in every state. it's not the time to say we don't have riots here. i don't care if you are in wyoming or downtown miami. we have to shut it down now. get a lid on this right now. we have to do other things as well. i think it wouldn't be a bad idea for local mayors and
4:12 am
municipalities to consider bringing in some retired law enforcement, able and willing to come back and help in a support role. get those cops out there as a show of force tonight. i warned people tuesday, i said the minute you let this get out of control it turns from crowd control to riot control. and those are two completely different formation of policing. we are in a triage situation now and we should have never been here if they would have shut it down on minnesota on night one. tactics got a plan too many cities, 41 states. they have actually a way to hurt this country beyond the pandemic. the pandemic put us on pause for three months. this is going to take years to rebuild these cities having said that. the president will regret his presidency whether it's five for years or five more months if he does not get together with the best tactical minds and best
4:13 am
legal minds and speech writers and give an address tonight. if there isn't a reason to ever address the country that has been so diversely affected by one thing. this is the reason. it's not 9/11 philadelphia -- excuse me, pennsylvania and new york were hematocrit but the country was affected. every state has been affected. we can't quite figure out who the enemy is we know we want to be together they want to tear us apart. the president has to be. in that speech can't be anything about a democrat and nothing about a republican. it's got to be about an american. how do you feel about that? >> i think the president understands what's going on right now. i agree with you. if there was ever a time in the u.s.s. history for oval office address to bring the country together, it's unquestionably right now. you can't watch these videos, brian, you can't of a woman in rochester being beaten senseless why her husband is screaming for mercy trying to swing a golf
4:14 am
club to protect -- these people having their teeth knocked out and being attacked. black and white business owners alike in liberal cities having their entire livelihoods burned down. this has to stop tonight. we have to draw a line. there has to be imaginable line tonight. antifa and criminals have declared war on civility and the constitutional republic. this is not a joke. this is insurrection. this is a coo. this icoup.this is not a protes. steve: it is three groups. as we will look and see things devolve through the course of the day. there are really three different groups of people we are talking about. there are the protesters. >> yes, yes. steve: protesting police brutality. that's how it started in minneapolis. then have you got the second group of the organizers.
4:15 am
antifa, you say. and they're the ones who want to sow disorder and break things and try to burn down police cars. and then you have got the third group and these are the opportunists who are seeing the craziness and the chaos on the streets and they are going in and they are looting and, you know, they are taking stuff out of target, tha chanel. whatever store they just broke a window at. suddenly, everything is free. >> steve, your analysis there is important. this is how we put a lid on this and cap this tonight. you have three groups. have you legitimate protesters very upset about what happened. exercising constitutional rights. those protesters have to start to turn on the other two groups. we have already seen it in d.c. with the video of peaceful protesters turning an antifa hooligan over to the cops. secondly straight criminals taking advantage of the situation. we have to use video today and start locking up as many of these looters as we can start
4:16 am
showing up at their houses. once the word starts getting out this isn't a free-for-all this will stop. third as i said you have to locally decapitate antifa today. high profile arrests. you have to start perp walking right now. if you want to be famous. we will make you famous behind a jail cell. believe me the message will get out. some of these kids are really video game players in their basement with s'mores took advantage with a group to because they have nothing to live for. when they watch their friends going to federal prison. all the sudden this will change quick. that's how you take advantage of those three groups and stop this tonight. those protesters have to not allow. this you are there for peaceful reasons to exercise your god-given right. don't allow these people to hijack your movement. it's disgraceful. ainsley: all right. dan. brian: twitter took their site down. ainsley: law enforcement officers confronted with life threatening situations on the streets of new york. the head of the state troopers

4:22 am
and we are heart broken on what is happening on the great cities. what did your governor say? >> basically is that this is not an ugly incident. what started as a protest has turned into riots. you have people, criminal opportunists taking advantage and creating havoc. it's one thing as police officers we'll protect your constitutional right to protest and we'll continue to do so. and fight adamantly that you have the right to do so. but, you do not take hammers and molotov cocktails if you are a peaceful protester to these events. steve: right. exactly. tom, you know, police officers are as outraged as everybody else. when you look at that video about what happened to george floyd. i mean, that's terrible with the guy having knee on his neck for
4:23 am
seven or eight minutes. you are outraged as well. at the same time, as we were talking earlier, there are people who are protesting the police brutality and then there are people who are tear advantage of the situation. >> well, absolutely. a weak ago, mr. floyd's death. that was despicable. that is something that every good police officer in this entire country we cringed when when we saw that video. that comes down to training, background checks. the police departments have to do a better job weeding out people before they actually are hired as police officers. and as the head of the union of the ninth largest police department in the united states, i am simply appalled by what happened there. but, again, to affect change. people have the right to protest. we will ensure that they have that. but, once it devolves into burning cars and spraying sprayg

graffiti on saint patrick's cathedral, looting stores, you know, in new york we have been on pause for months and those businesses really really needed help. and to have somebody come and smash their windows of these store owners and loot their businesses? it's unbelievable. steve: it is unbelievable and heart breaking as well. you know, tom, the fact is, it appears that police officers, troopers, are targets because if these trouble makers see an empty police vehicle, they just catch it on fire if they can. and you guys have been for the last three months. have you put your lives on the line fighting the covid crisis throughout the united states and particularly in new york state where you are. and right now all you wanted is you want to hear from the leadership. you have not heard from the governor. you have not heard from the legislature. you have not heard from your leaders that they have got your

back in this thing. >> absolutely. actually i'm hearing the opposite that they want to cut our constitutional rights, our civil rights, you know, change some of the laws that we have to police and handcuff us even further. my people get up every day and proudly put on that gray uniform and ask whatever asked. to say i was the 9/11 responder. we call that call and responded. prison break. we respond where that has to go. these riots happen. hundreds of troorption deployed overnight. you ask us to go somewhere. we will do whatever you need us to do without questioning. without calling in sick. we are not going to go on strike. but we would like an acknowledgment that we are on the front lines, we are the targets. and we are trying to ensure that people's lives and properties are protected and we would appreciate some appreciation. steve: yeah. tom, before you go. the governor is going to see this video with you. what's the one thing you want to
4:26 am
tell him on this monday morning? >> i want him to know that his troopers are out there. if he asks us to do something tonight, we will be there. we're going to -- we are serving the people of new york state like we have for over 100 years and without question we just appreciate that the people out there, elected leaders appreciate what we do for the people of new york. steve: all right. thomas, we thank you for joining us live. good luck to you. >> thank you. steve: all right. meanwhile, rioters ruling the streets sites like this one playing out across the country. our next panel of mothers weighs in on how we can k. and should unite as a nation. effortless is the lincoln way.

4:31 am
weekend? >> i have been glued to the tv and my heart is broken. and the one thing that just won't leave my heart is hearing george floyd calling out to his mother as he was pinned to the ground and his arms are behind his back. and he wasn't just calling out for his mother. he was calling out to all mothers. and i really have been impacted. i hear the call to action. and i want to be part of the solution. >> so, karas, i told you told our producers you spent friday in tears over george floyd's death. are these looters ruining a meaningful protest, meaningful conversations? >> well, you know, here's the thing. we have two choices pat. which is that nonsense which helps no one and will lead to a revolution of the worst kind a lose, lose for everybody. or we can adopt the principles that i not only teach my children but where i lecture at
4:32 am
schools and universities which is to care about one another. responsible listening, environment awareness. we are better than what we see on tv. we can do this. it takes people taking action listening and moving forward. ainsley: cathy, i know your faith is extremely important to you and you teach your children, i know your kids, they are precious and so well-mannered. is there a breakdown of family? do we need more god in our communities? why are we seeing i mean if i saw my child -- first of all my heart goes out to george's family, obviously. it was awful and if that were my child you just don't move on. you can't get over that and i know they want to see justice but i also look at these kids or these young people that are looting these stores, if that were my child she would be in big trouble. what do you think? >> oh, yes, absolutely, ainsley. i talk about it in my book. we have a cull you are temperature of poverty problem. we have a mind poor nation
4:33 am
problem is what we are contending with right now. being played out on the streets all across america. we have lost the understanding of what it means to be an american. we have and indicated our values. our traditions those things that bind us together as a nation. we have picked up a tremendous amount of chaos. what we are seeing across america is shear criminality. it is the worst of who we are. it's parasitic behavior. people who are leveraging chaos right now. what we are seeing all across our nation has long past moved beyond trying to honor the life and the memory of george floyd. i have not heard anyone on either side of the political spectrum or races trying to defend the indefensible act that we saw just a few short days ago instead what i saw was a nation
4:34 am
trying to stand up, come together as one and stand up and call for justice. today, however, what we are seeing is shear domestic terrorism. and the silence we are hearing from some of our leaders and the capitulation that we are hearing from others should not be tolerated. what we need in addition to prayer and getting back to traditional american values is also a strong show of force against this terrorism. that is actually are a vising our nature right now. ainsley: barbara, what's your opinion of our culture. >> it's unfortunate we have to focus on riots and looting because it's really detracting what we need to do to created change and resolutions. i think seeing that video of george floyd, ahmaud arbery, all of them have been those thiewm must in a way collective unity. we cannot momentum because we
4:35 am
are focused on chaos. it's so distracting. as a culture so frustrating on so many levels. we have an opportunity to created rile change in our government. there is something systemically wrong in our legal system that is taking two months to arrest a man -- arrest men that shot down a black man for going for a jog there is something wrong. we have an opportunity right now. really, the rioting, the looting has to end. and i don't stand in judgment. because, let me tell you something. i'm not going to pick up a sharpy and right a haiku if you pin my son or my child down on the ground. i understand their pain. i recognize it. i feel it. i want to pick up a sledge hammer as well. but it is detracting from the opportunity to create a resolution and an opportunity for change. ainsley: karrith, how do we move
4:36 am

suffered through the heat and many retreated for heat exhaustion. ainsley: our next guest who live s there is calling out state leaders for their response. former super bowl champ and utah gop congressional candidate burgess owens joins us now. >> good to see you again. ainsley: good talking to you too tell me what's happening in your area. >> well, ainsley, if i can broaden a little bit more because it's not just salt lake city. what happened here is not typical. that's not our culture. when i talk about the heart and soul of our nation that's what we're fighting against right now the heart and soul of our nation is our middle class and it defines our culture and where we serve people and we love each other we've come together. what we're up against is marxism we have an enemy out there and we're seeing true evil of that and we'll understand that we're find it's in most of these blue states where you have governors who have shut down businesses for the last three months and don't want to open them up and then you have these mayors who actually allow these people to
5:32 am
come in and destroy business across-the-board. these business small businesses will come back strong and we have marxist that act up against that so that's who our enemy is and i'm looking to these people as terrorists because that's who they are and they need to pay the price for doing so. ainsley: we've seen these protests which were justified take a different turn and it's just outrageous to see this looting and to see these riots. when you first saw that video of george floyd and now, you look at the video of all the rioting, the looting, what are your thoughts? >> well first of all, we are altogether as a country realize that was a heinous deed done to george. nothing like that should ever be done to any american here. we realize it's not about george any more it's about our country and about those who hate our nation and i want to be straight upfront with you. for those in the democratic party look at your leadership. you have evil being done by your leadership. people want to see hurt and harm
5:33 am
to american people, our economy, pain, that's what they do in every single state they live in and every single city over seas. we need to make sure that the same party that once is a terrorist arm this kkk now has a terrorist arm in antifa and the only difference is their color whether they are white or black it's different but it's the same process so realize what your party is doing right now. they are trying to divide us. we cannot stand for this and not stand to lose our american way and our business owners have to be given the opportunity to come back strong and do what they do best. ainsley: we need to come together as a country. thank you so much, burgess good to see you it's 8:33 on the east coast. will the president address the nation about the rioting in washington and across the country that's one of the questions we have for the white house press secretary kayleigh mcenany she's going to join us live, next.

brian: more than 60 secret service agents were injured during violence protests in washington d.c., mark meredith is live in washington on capitol hill with a look at the destruction. mark? reporter: brian good morning to you. despite pleas for calm there was chaos all over washington d.c. last night the ground zero appeared to be lafayette park outside the white house, as you mentioned demonstrators were caught on camera throwing bricks , rocks, bottles at the secret service trying to keep the protesters away from the white house and we saw at least 60 secret service officers injured over the weekend, 11 people taken to the hospital and frankly, we believe those number s are going to be a lot higher. we should be getting an update from the secret service a little bit later on today. we can we want to show you new video just into fox news showing the aftermath of the destruction
5:39 am
outside of st. john's church this is a church right outside of lafayette park. we have seen fire crews still out there this morning mopping up the damage. the good news the church itself remains intact and it is still standing but there was a fire inside, we'll be giving a better idea of what the damage has been attorney general bill barr says the fbi and joint terrorism task force is working to identify the instigators and organizers of all of this. he'll be meeting with president trump this morning around 10:30. he issued a statement over the weekend the attorney general says "the violence instigated and carried out by answer and other similar groups in connection with the rioting is domestic terrorism and will be treated accordingly." we have also seen on the national mall, graffiti spray painted pretty much everywhere. i saw graffiti damage on the world war ii memorial yesterday also spotted on the lincoln memorial. d.c. mayor said this morning she believes the city is prepared, however it's unclear if we're going to see any more looting or rioting later on today. also want to mention, guys how bad things were over the weekend
5:40 am
early friday night saturday morning fox news confirm the that president trump was briefly taken to the presidential bunker out of an abundance of caution. steve, ainsley and brian back to you guys. steve: mark meredith thank you very much let's bring in white house press secretary kayleigh mcenany who joins us from the white house complex good morning to you, kayleigh. >> good morning. steve: i see on the president's public schedule, he does have a video conference with america's governors today to try to figure out what's going on. people from all across the country are looking in, this is the time we look to our leader. we want this to stop. how does the president fix this? >> yeah, this president has been very clear that we need law and order in this country. he's taken extraordinary action talking about activating the national guard as we saw happen in minnesota criminaliz ing interstate travel that is geared towards inciting violence, making sure that those individuals are prosecuted labeling antifa as a domestic
5:41 am
terrorist entity that will be prosecuted as such this president has taken bold action this is the law and order president going back to his convention speech he's always been about law and order in this country and he's taking every single possible action to ensure that our streets are safe because what this does, this de means the peaceful protesters who have a legitimate grievance when we see angry mob mentality take over in this horrific images of businesses burning and fires in the streets of this country. ainsley: kayleigh i know many are asking the president to police give an oval office address on these riots because our country is just experiencing so much chaos right now. have there been conversations with him about that? do you think he'll say yes to that? >> the president has addressed this repeatedly so i look to going back to the first day he saw this video. he has addressed the absolutely horrific video of george floyd andrew teenly addressed in his remarks less than 48 hours ago the issue of law and order in our streets and issued several statements but here is the thing
5:42 am
ainsley. a national oval office address is not going to stop ainsley. what's going to stop answer is action and this president has committed to action to that and that's his focus is acting and keeping our streets safe. brian: so kayleigh, just a quick statement, obviously, we watch the antifa and we've seen some of their acts and we've seen this before when there was a time when we which weren't wearing a mask they just were and now we all are. mark bray, who wrote a book on antifa in 2017 says "the idea that antifa is mastermining what's happening over the last few days if you know anything about this subject is ludacris." is this an amorphis organization instead of just an ideology and are we giving them too much credit? >> i don't think so. look when you look at the twitter feed of antifa you see that they are directing some of this , when you look at the
5:43 am
horrific graffiti that i see in the streets it's about over turning capitalism and really crude messages. they are certainly behind this , a.g. barr mentioned to that effect and still has ambassador o'brien and criminalizing making sure that they are labeled as domestic terrorists is so important because as i noted at the top there are legitimate peaceful protesters out there and i've seen them. i saw a video here in d.c. where a violent rioter was cobbeling the street in an effort to throw bricks at police officers and it was peaceful protesters that stopped this individual so we've got to distinguish this violent antifa from the protesters who do have a legitimate grievance. steve: sure. where are they getting all of those bricks? i'm just kind of wondering about that. of course yesterday, the president of the united states did say that he wanted to designate antifa as a domestic terror terrorist organization but kayleigh the president also
5:44 am
said democrats are not tough enough on the violent protesters , and the troublemaker s and whatnot. why did he designate the democrats are not tough enough? >> yeah, i think when you look at some of the befuddling actions like right here in the mayor of d.c. didn't issue a curfew until 11 p.m. well guess what at 10 p.m., you had st. john's church burning. several other cities had curfew at 4:00 p.m., 5 p.m., 6:00 p.m. and some of the actions are really not tough enough as the president noted particularly with the mayor here in d.c., and when you look at these horrific actions i just want to note how completely wrong-headed the fact is that you had the veterans affairs department defaced and the word veteran completely spray painted off the building, the lincoln memorial defaced a beautiful symbol of a president who over came some of the deepest racial divides in our country and to have those institutions defaced really undermines the message we're targeting antifa and it's very important and the president will also put
5:45 am
an own us on democrat mayors to be as tough as he has been. ainsley: all right so bill barr said the doj is using its network of 56 regional fbi joint terrorism task force toid these criminal organizers and instigators. how are they going to be able to do that? >> yeah, so this task force will be looking into each and every incident that comes our way, looking at it through a domestic terrorism lens using title 18 section 2,331 that's a big portion of the domestic terrorism statute and it basically will give us broad investigate investigating power to investigate these activities and to ensure that the individuals who are looting and the individuals who are antifa and who are behind the violent actions we're seeing and the burning down of some of america's buildings as we saw here st. johns the beautiful historical monument burning these will be prosecuted under the fullest extent of the law. brian: kayleigh, it's hard to imagine, but it seems like
5:46 am
george's death and the pandemic have been overwhelmed by these riots. in wake of the riots have the president talked to maybe some of these governors like governor of new york with sadly 56 deaths were dramatically down from its peak to release "the rock" down and allow some people to defend their businesses or get back in the business so we're economically not back along with what goes on with these protests that's destroying these cities? >> yeah the president wants to reopen this country he's been clear about that. i spoke to him about half a dozen times yesterday and talked to him he's been on the phone with governors and making sure that our country is reopening that we do so in a way that protects our streets keeps our streets safe and it's in excus able what we've been seeing play out across the country. steve: right and kayleigh that church that they burned yesterday, down to the basement, is just one block from where you're standing right now. all the violence, a lot of it is
5:47 am
just outside the gate. how freaked out are some of the people who work at the white house about what's going on just over the fence? >> look we feel very protected. secret service is remarkable and they've been doing remarkable work so we feel safe here behind the white house gates but look, we want america to be safe. we want to coming together as one country. we're better than this. america is stronger than this america is about unity. i saw beautiful videos of police officers and protesters hugging that is what defines us as a country not the burning of st. johns and the looting and the rioting we've seen, so we're coming together as a country and that's our singular focus at the white house as we get back to work. ainsley: kayleigh thanks so much for joining us this morning. >> thank you. ainsley: you're welcome. imagine watching helplessly at looters ransacked your business that's what happened to a couple of entrepreneurs in atlanta we'll talk to them about the heartbreaking ordeal but first let's check in with ed henry. ed: good morning, ainsley president trump has two big meetings during our show, first in the oval office shortly, with the view president and the

attorney general who has declared its time to restore law and order. we are standing by for any live comments from the president. he also has a video teleconference with governors and law enforcement officials later in the show. we're all over this with andy mccarthy who says there are already laws on the books en ailing us to prosecute antifa as terrorists and give us harsh prison sentences and where are our african american leaders, lawrence jones and donna brazile talking about bringing people together in a time of need in america, join sandra and me 9:00 -12:00. at mercedes-benz, nothing less than world-class service will do. that's why we're expanding your range of choices. many dealers now offer optional pick-up & delivery and at-home maintenance, as well as online shopping with home delivery and special finance arrangements. so, whether you visit your local dealer or prefer the comfort of home you can count on the very highest level of service. get 0% apr financing up to 36 months on most models,

steve: this is a fox news alert. countless business owners now left picking up the pieces following days of riots and violent protests. our next guest spent four years building the successful clothing store in atlanta, georgia only to have it looted and vandalized on friday. joining us right now the owner of adam concept store, zola diaz along with the stores manager chris shelby good morning to both of you. >> good morning. steve: so i'm doing okay, but you know, we've seen these images of businesses burned out, take us back to friday night. i know you live just one minute away from the store. somebody calls, you got there,
5:53 am
what did you see? >> i mean, zola called me that night at 1:00 in the morning and i was standing from my balcony and i hear glass breaking, i see people running, and then i look down at our store and i just see a sledgehammer and like a bar that holds the ropes to block people off i seen one of those go through our window and all i could do was sit back and say that's a wrap on that and as bad as i wanted to go down there and zola was saying i know you want to go down there but just sit back for our safety and we have to just take care tomorrow morning, but we already knew the damages being done. steve: yeah, absolutely. and zola i understand when you went back at one point, you were arrested for vandalism. tell us about that. >> yeah, so this happened
5:54 am
yesterday, we were doing a video at the ground and then it was like you have a bunch of people in the popular restaurants in the area so we were trying to lock the door because now you can really lock the door, you have to like force, to get the door locked so basically , 15 police officers come up to me and be like oh, are you the owner? and i said yes i'm the owner what's going on? somebody called us because they said somebody called them and said we were trying to be in the middle of this . then they come up to us and it's like someone gave us a call and said someone is at the store and we're like this is our store and literally they were like okay and turned around and left.
5:55 am
i mean at the end of the day, we understand but it's like what was this all about? is it because we're black-owned and from the looks of it because what's going on someone is like there must be some african americans sitting down there breaking into the store but it's like, we own this store. we've been here now for four years and for someone to sit there and call the police on us and for them to walk up on us 15 deep, 15 police officers deep with everything they got going on in the city right now, people the last thing you all need to be worrying about is if a few guys are sitting here making sure their store is being taken care of and boarded up but it was just not right at all. >> exactly. steve: sure, and chris, real quick, you know, people say hey, don't worry. the insurance will cover it. you don't know that, right? >> you know the thing is when it goes into this business, people don't know that insurance doesn't cover everything and to be honest right now we don't even know if insurance is going to cover anything right now.
5:56 am
>> and also, we close out of the mall because of the covid-19 so the insurance doesn't cover the covid-19, and also, the damage is done. we lost everything. and then now we just don't know if we're going to reopen. >> yeah. steve: i completely get it you were supposed to reopen after covid today and now that's not happening. zola and chris we thank you very much and good luck to you. >> thank you so much. steve: we'll be right back.
5:57 am
5:59 am
6:00 am
>> you can join us tomorrow, going in our earlier as we do today. thank you so much. >> sandra: fox news alert now, a nation and turmoil. a bias in chaos and goal thing the streets and violent protest bark may have been major cities across america. that morning, everyone. i'm sandra smith. >> ed: i'm ed henry. minnesota so the epicenter of the unrest after a black man, george floyd, died when an officer kneeled on his neck for several minutes. in one instance, a tanker truck last night driving toward protesters hand in washington, d.c., anger and frustration fueling a night of utter destruction. several fires set right near the white house. >> sandra: meanwhile, over two dozen states and d.c. have
