joining us live senior fellow at the heritage foundation and former doj official, thanks for coming back to the show. let's take a look at the list of subpoenas. all the big names, john brennan, sidney blumenthal, comey, page, peter stzrok, and oppressive list. what does this mean? will they just ignore these? >> they could try to ignore it in which case the senate will move to enforce it but this is important. i don't think people realized what a scandal this is. our intelligence capabilities are very powerful, they are supposed to be used for counterintelligence purposes to protect us from foreign enemies and all the unmasking that occurred particularly by obama era officials who have nothing to do with our intelligence gathering makes it look as a intelligence capabilities were
1:17 am
used for domestic partisan political spying on the opposition presidential candidate and his staff. that is one of the worst abuses of governmental power in our history. people have to be held accountable to ensure this doesn't happen again. jillian: what type of accountability? listens what lindsey graham had to say yesterday. >> there are some people who are real good candidates for going to jail for manipulating the fisa application process and the reason i'm doing subpoena is it is clear to me you are not going to help me. i would be an idiot to believe you are going to help me. jillian: what is your action? >> lindsey graham is exactly right. the fisa process is only supposed to be used for counterintelligence purposes and yet electronic eavesdropping was use in crossfire hurricane that we now know there was no
1:18 am
evidence to justify which means the lawyers at doj in the agency, the fbi who prepared and submitted those fisa applications to the court misled the court, may have lied to the court, all of which is perjury. perjury is a federal violation of federal law that can and should be prosecuted. >> this story amid the background of the meltdown our society is having between covid-19 and these riots there's a lot of fatigue over talking about russia. what do you think the ends of being? take this to the long game when this is over. >> i am hoping that the end game is when it is over it will so scare and deter individuals who hold positions in the federal government in the future from ever doing something like this again.

rob: william barr confirms evidence linking antifa to the violence that has been sewing mayhem across the country. >> we have evidence that antifa and other extremist groups as well as actors a variety of different political persuasions have been involved in instigating and participating in the violent activity. we are also seeing foreign actors playing both sides to exacerbate the violence. jillian: our next guest is a former member of antifa and says social media is amplifying the group's platform. joining us is gabriel nuttall.
1:24 am
thank you, a lot of people don't know what antifa is. tell us what is the goal of this organization? >> antifa is an organization made of several different radical leftist organizations. they pretend they are fighting against fascism which is in the name antifa, anti-fascism but antifa is not fighting against fascism. they are willing to fight anybody who does not share their leftist radical mentality on socialism and communism. rob: if we take a look according to you how they drive this discord in the country and do what they do and some of the things you talk about promoting anti-police anti-conservative rhetoric and acting acts of violence and publicizing them, setting a narrative to burn down communities and convincing to misuse -- that their views are morally righteous.
1:25 am
how did you get involved with a group like this and how dangerous is this group? >> i was already a liberal activist by the time i joined the anti-fascist movement and influenced by a lot of things, spanish tv networks like telemundo and other left-wing friends that i had but i remember the first time i was at an antifa rally, their mission fired me up and made me want to put on the black mask and marched alongside antifa but realized even though i thought it was a righteous movement fighting against fascism something that as americans we should all oppose i didn't realize it was such a dangerous movement and it has become more dangerous than anything i ever witnessed. look at the violence, it started in st. paul, minnesota, los angeles, california, chicago, austin, texas, all these places are locations in which antifa has been allowed to operate for
1:26 am
years sometimes uncontested. they set the narrative and now so many people joined in their violence. jillian: a lot of people downplaying what the group does. take a listen. >> there are so few members of antifa in general that to say they have anything significant in this protest is a far right talking point. >> the president has been assessed with far left protests or groups including antifa. >> the idea of antifa being an organization we have to send united states might against is ridiculous. jillian: what do you think of that? are the claims truth? >> of course they are downplaying it but you don't need that many antifa activists. it is proper propaganda by the d, a political tactic in which you and ask violence against another with the hope and intent that others will join in. that is what happened.
1:27 am
they started the riots. and more americans joined in as well. rob: let's talk about the state of minnesota where this unrest began. you've got the attorney general in minnesota, keith ellison, one of the chief people enforcing law and order in the state, his son is a guy named jeremiah ellison who is a member of antifa and he's a city councilman, let's go to the tweet by jeremiah was my tickler my support for antifa, someone can prove to me antifa is behind the burning of black and immigrant and businesses i will focus on stopping the white power terrorists that are attacking us. what do you make of this? june 4th, we are going to dismantle the minneapolis police department, we are not going to simply glue it back together, we will rethink emergency response, it is past due. this is the son of the minnesota attorney general and minnesota
1:28 am
councilman. >> it is disturbing the top prosecutors believes in antifa and shows how much it has grown but at the same time i'm not surprised at all. let's look at keith ellison. couple years ago he took a selfy with their manifesto and was tontine trump and his supporters but he's not alone in minnesota. there are so many politicians who support antifa. back in november a representative named asia gomez was seen marching with antifa and it shows you antifa needs -- he movement nobody knew about but now has mainstream supported a lot are in the democratic left. jillian: thank you for joining us with your story with that information. rob: unbelievable. jillian: we will be right back.

>> reporter: is an police reform a state and local issue dealt with in the ballot box? the independent women's forum, thanks for being here, appreciate it. a federal use of force standard, aggressive restraint techniques, national database of officers fired for misconduct, what do you think of that? >> there are reforms in the federal level we can and should advocate for but the truth is the majority of reforms that need to happen need to happen at the local and state level. it is tempting to blame donald trump for the riots and peaceful protests that have broken out. the truth is the majority of grievances i am hearing peaceful

protesters raise, the federal government does not oversee police force, we don't have a national police force, police forces overseen by local cities and states. they are getting involved locally in their communities look at the statistics in their own cities and ask what type of reforms do we need? they give themselves credit and need to look with in because who has been running the vast majority of our cities in america for the past 50 years. the vast majority run by democrats. if they want change they have to be that change and vote for that change. rob: radicals on the far left calling to defund the police, this is saying we need police but we need to make changes and fix them. let's take a listen.

>> have to get better than what they have been doing. we have to get the police departments, everybody has to do better. how they do better as a long-term problem. this happens today. rob: is this a sensible solution? even if it happens at a local level and not a federal level, reforming police in a way, is it something like that? >> for decades, police unions have a record of protecting police officers, something liberals and conservatives should advocate to reform. it's long past time to change that and i would big the left to not listen to me, listen to former president barack obama who wrote a piece about the change from these protests has to come from local officials, cannot be directed at donald trump. these protesters should instead of focusing their energy on the
1:40 am
white house they should focus their energy on local communities and local city officials who have been the ones refusing to reform these unions, protected bad cops, protected bad teachers far too long in american society. we as conservatives want to encourage those who live in cities to advocate for sensible reforms that will encourage transparency and accountability for bad teachers and bad cops and open opportunities for african-americans. jillian: there are definitely things that can be done from this point on before you defund the police department or break down your police department as is being suggested in minneapolis. we will have a conversation, thank you for joining us. speaking of the push to defund the police, statement in los angeles.

1:51 am
>> i always say never ever bend a knee to the mob. they don't want your apologies or contrition. they want your submission. in the case of this, the only thing they had to do is reaffirm the commitment to their citizens while supporting the police officers that were protecting their citizens from the outright lawlessness we saw happening over multiple cities in america over the past weekend days. all they had to do was reaffirm their support for the police so everybody is mad, makes the employees mad, makes police officers mad. jillian: a beloved well-known establishment, this is what they said. this is the apology they should, quote, the decision was made in haste after a night of destruction and looting. it was insensitive and we sincerely apologize.
1:52 am
the policy was revoked. my question to you, why can't we at the same time condemn what happened to george floyd and others in a similar situation, support the peaceful protesting going on and support communities of color and all our cities yet at the same time still support our police officers, who many of them do so much good in the community. why can't we do that? >> for a lot of people, the movement going on in black lives matter, they have framed this is something between you cannot be for police officers and poor communities of color and supporting african-americans and peaceful protesting at the same time. they force it into this binary and i don't think it is necessarily true and those of us push back against that, the unfortunate thing is there are millions of police officers who
1:53 am
are african-american as well that serve their communities every single day honorably and the way this movement is going is to have everybody against police. i don't think it is sustainable, i don't think it is something that should go forward in this way and i want to say about the movement of the defund the police this defunding the police, this idea that police officers are bad people is going to hurt low income and minority communities the most particularly very poor minority communities in urban cities, policing the most because there are so many criminal elements that take advantage of the hard-working americans that live in these places and that is a very dangerous conversation to be starting and really shocking to me that it is happening at such high levels of the democratic party.
1:54 am
rob: let's go back to affiliate restaurants. the new york police leaders, we will show you how angry everybody is. philly police will be boycotting the bruneau brothers. former commissioner carac, frequent fox news guy, a slap in the face to philly police by philadelphia's own bruneau brothers who called racist and apologized for the radical left wing for systemic racism by cops. before labeling someone a racist, they made everybody angry. what a horrible pr stunt. >> this is what happened when you bend a knee for the mob. this could have been avoided. they are doing a good thing and nobody -- they should never feel pressure from the mob and never
1:55 am
feel the pressure from leftists to feel they are not doing a bad thing. you can at the same time you're supporting african americans, supporting peaceful protesters you can support the police officers of all colors that are there to keep law and order who are protecting people from the lawlessness we saw over the past weekend days, for people who want to defund the police into clinical of police i say people are hearing your cries for some sort of systemic reform. we get this, we understand that. there is no both sides when it comes to the murder of george floyd. it was wrong. those were bad cops. particularly the one that did murder him. we all agree with that. demonizing police officers of all colors. i cannot reiterate this more because there is this idea that all police officers are white and everybody they are cracking down on his effort in american. that is not the case.
1:56 am
all police officers are not white. let's not disrespect all of our police officers and let's not disrespect the african-american police officers who protected communities. jillian: thanks for your service. cindy crawford so i'm
