>> judge jeanine: you know what's interesting about all of this is that there is so much concern about covid and how it's going to impact people. the trump campaign is going above and beyond what they need to do. they are taking temperatures, giving masks, giving people gloves. oklahoma if you recall was one of the first states to open after the pandemic. the only problem seems to be that the individuals coming into make trouble and the president has made a very clear what he intends to do that they are not going to be treated the way that the protesters or rioters were treated in minneapolis and in seattle and in new york city. so i think the dichotomy is going to be clear on the resistance to this particular rally but the rally is exactly what donald trump needs right now. it's where he gets his confidence. it's where people feel his energy. i think it's going to be a very positive thing hopefully it will be peaceful. his events are.

♪ >> juan: this is a special "one more thing." today is jubilee day in texas, also known as juneteenth. it falls on june 19th. why the party? it's a party with a purpose. as a matter of history, juneteenth commemorates the day that 2,000 union troops reached galveston island in 1865. they freed slaves in texas under president lincoln's emancipation

proclamation. you probably know that's two years after lincoln had issued the emancipation proclamation. slave owners in texas had ignored lincoln's order until this day in 1865. that's just two months after confederate general robert e. lee surrendered. what began as a celebration among freed slaves in texas has reached other parts of america. it began as their families moved to the west end to the north, but it was largely a black's only party until the mid-20th century civil rights movement when juneteenth gained a new life as a celebration of the roots of the black experience. it became a time for a black family reunions, stories told as well as a moment to display black music, art and of course black cuisine, better known to us all as soul food. it was also an opportunity to share pride in black progress and business politics and of course popular culture. this year the celebration has added power, after the protests

against the brutal death of george floyd. as americans of all colors have joined together to speak out against excessive use of force by police against black americans. juneteenth is now a moment when everyone can celebrate the black experience in american history. already juneteenth is an official holiday or a day to be observed in 47 states and now senator john cornyn, the texas republican, is proposing that the day become a national holiday. major companies including targ target, fox, and the nfl are honoring it as a chance to open hearts and minds to america's racial past. it's a wonderful moment of racial healing added opportunity for america to face the painful past and honestly celebrate the many colors, the many stories that make up the american family picture. it also celebrates an amazing idea written in the declaration of independence, the american promise that everyone is equal

and our god-given rights are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. happy juneteenth day. dana perino, what do you think about the effort to make it a national holiday? >> dana: i think it's time and there is bipartisan support for it. i think president trump if he gets a chance would welcome an opportunity to sign this into law to have this day be a national holiday and one that we can celebrate as we recognize that our country, obviously as secretary rice has said, it was born with a birth defect but it's one we've worked to excise. we have a common identity and that is that we are americans and we are all rooted in the rights of the constitution. i think as we go forward, having a holiday to recognize that is a good idea. >> juan: dana, thanks so much. what do you think, greg? we have to be quick.
