way up. it's culminating in endless feuding that left 11 wounded ad one dead. still looking for suspects. what's worse? police say a violent crowd kept them from getting to one of the victims. shootings were up 368%. over the last week compared to the same time last year. on saturday night, the violence got so bad that the nypd reported one shooting an hour. chicago saw at least hundred people shot over father's day weekend. the most shooting victims in nearly a decade. sadly 14 of them were killed. putting a 3-year-old child. joining me now is bernie kerik.

bernie, he just reported from lafayette park. it's been defaced. with spray paint. it was set on fire a few weeks back when i was there. it's a feeling of emboldened criminals who were taking advantage of -- i guess smaller police presence? a political situation where people are timid about going in -- i don't know? >> more emboldened. emboldened by governors, mayors, democratic governors, democratic mayors that have failed to do their job. they support the lawlessness. they support black lives matter. they support antifa. these marxists -- they are out

enforcing the laws. i would ask the governor of new york to give us eight to 10,000 national guards and i would secure everyone of these spots. every synagogue, every church, every monument. anything of historical value to the country. they should be secured. one of the ways to do it is with the national guard. anybody attacks them, anybody goes after them, lock them up. and start charging them federally. stop jerking around with locking them up and they are back in the morning. charge them federally a and get them off the streets. >> laura: i think some of these groups learning together -- it's a conspiracy to subvert the u.s. government. there are a lot of possibilities that people who spend all their time focusing on this issue -- i'm sure they can mull it over. but this is insanity. and they are pushing it now to the limit. this cannot be tolerated on

federal land. if the state governors want to screw up their estates, i'm not sure what the president can do about that. but it's federal monuments on federal land. if that has to be productive. >> i think the attorney general -- he's arty churcdominic already directed i. they have to determine who's doing it. we want to know where they get the funding and anybody associated with them -- tied to them, they've got to go. >> laura: they are putting out the word now that stained glass has to be destroyed. do you know how many churches in d.c. alone in st. paul, minnesota, new york city, where is the cardinal? everybody has to speak up about this. these are u.s. churches. i'm just disgusted by this. >> it's not going to work out west. they go out west and start attacking churches, they are going to have problems.

your door at roosevelt from. now, new york governor andrew cuomo suggested the removal as an act of love. >> they think the statue in this environment is in bad taste. they want to take it down. i support their decision. the expression of outrage is great. the expression of love is great. and that's what they are really saying. level of her hate. unity over division. that's what they are seen, and they are right. >> look, laura. i know there are sensitivities about the composition of the statue. there is a black man and a native american man next to theodore roosevelt on horseback. but look, his father founded this museum. this natural history museum. the first exhibitions there were excavations that theodore roosevelt himself brought to the museum. and perhaps most tellingly, this is the first president to welcome a black man to the white house. for those reasons, i think you

they rename the city of new yo new york. until they find out something about cuomo unti they don't lik. this is breaking out everywhere. in los angeles, they tore down a statue -- actually, i believe it was in san francisco. of saint kuh a saint. he created the missions on the coast. he loved the native americans. and yet, they are pulling his statue down. he was made a saint in 2005. he also named san diego san bernardino. all of this was done by the sink. he is part of california histo history. things got worse in san francisco were a statue of the spain's premier writer.
