and with his people israel now during the coronavirus pandemic. our elderly jewish brothers and sisters who are so precious to god they have no access to food. as christians and jews we know that we have a scriptural mandate to feed the hungry. and here there are thousands in desperate need. 17 years ago edna was in a horrible terrorist attack. she's still in excruciating pain her food is running out and she's isolated and frightened.
1:13 am
all the time i suffer alone with sickness and pain. the need is especially urgent due to the coronavirus pandemic. your call right now with a gift of $25 will rush food and emergency aid to an elderly jewish person struggling to survive. every gift helps keep them alive and show's your love to god's people. for over 35 years, the international fellowship of christians and jews has been bringing christian and jewish communities together. and it's only with your help that we can meet this challenge of delivering emergency aid and food boxes to elderly jews across israel. inside every food box we put a note letting the recipients know that it was provided by christians and jews who love them. it means so much to me. your help will bring emergency aid and much needed peace into their lives. whether you can help one time or once a month

1:15 am
the sad result is our elected officials lacking political willpower to enforce the rule of law thus we've surrendered the precinct and now we can't go into a 6 block area under control by people who do not want the police in there and as i predicted, i feared this would metastasize across the nation and as we see news reports that is exactly what is occurring. we have a difficult situation in seattle, the entire country needs to get locked in to see how this is going to be handled because this has big big implications across the country that we live in. shannon: hindsight is 20/20, we can look back and play monday morning quarterback but the question is what type of precedent did it set for the city of seattle to allow this to go on particularly talking about the president set for other
1:16 am
cities across the country, people thinking they can do it too. >> we need people to be emboldened. the political pandering of blaming the violence on the police is false rhetoric and as you can see the legislation just passed, seattle city council to remove less lethal munitions that allowed the police to effectively control unruly crowds, to protect chain of command orders for police facilities to be protected. how are we going to get into chop and take it back? as we follow chain of command orders i'm not confident that we will have the ability to do that without some help from other places to help solve this problem but i am thankful the mayor's office for finally including us in the conversation to be a stakeholder to see if we can help alleviate this issue.
1:17 am
todd: let's listen to a soundbite from the chief of police there. >> there are groups of individuals engaging in shootings, rape, burglary, arson and property destruction. it's not about politics, a debate about first amendment rights, it is about life or death. >> we knew this would be the case when you set up something like this. why did we wait for the violence, this is a good idea, let's break this thing up. >> keep in mind the same people supporting some of those individuals are the same people asking for defunding of the police, demanding better quality police services and to me those two are incompatible with one another. you and i both know the first
1:18 am
thing to go in a police budget is the training budget and the training budget is what separates good cops from bad cops and i find it ironic that those two are now being brought into the same space in the conversation and if our politicians made the rule of law paramount for a functioning society especially in an urban area we would not be having this situation. this is traveling across the country as we are gripped by this lawlessness. shannon: we will watch the autonomous on that is attempting to set up in dc in the overnight hours, thank you for joining us. we appreciate it. todd: it is being called a radical shift, coronavirus cases spiking among people in their 20s and 30s. what is behind the new surge? >> doctor jeanette breaks down the factors next.

1:24 am
formulate into nebulizer treatment like with asthma patients where they give themselves a nebulizer treatment at home. that is the current thinking but it has to be study, trials are going to begin, there's concern for safety because if you do too much it can become toxic and we have to make sure that there's no one else around you if you're giving yourself a dose of this medicine because you will aerosolized the virus, if someone nearby is around you they may inhale those viral particles and then you passes virus on to other people and that's one of the concerns but an interesting concept that might curb this pandemic a little bit. >> there have been differing opinions on the use of this drug, what is yours? >> it's all we have right now but there is a steroid which is under study right now shown to help reduce inflammation, maybe a cocktail of remdesivir with
1:25 am
some home steroids, prednisone, all under study, none of it has been validated yet but it is an extra tool that might help along with convalescent plasma and other medications like an antibody that might help. lots of medicine, lots of vaccine under trial, fingers crossed and so we had the fall season. >> let's talk about a number of states reporting cases, spikes in folks who are younger, in the 20s and 30s, let's pull up the states, there are a number of them. what do you attribute this to? i was thinking about this? on the one hand these are states that opens early, they've been ahead with restaurants and bars opening, and people are getting out and about more a does it have to do with more testing available? >> more socially and economically active.
1:26 am
they are doing to person-to-person interaction, in the service industry, working with restaurants and bars, they are more active so they are at higher risk of transmission, some are not wearing their masks, they are not washing their hands. one thing we need to point out is massive increases in diagnostic capability. in march and april, i wasn't able to test anybody in the younger population unless they had severe symptoms where they almost had to be hospitalized because we were so limited on testing so the amount of cases were always there but now we are able to test more into any of these younger folks, their symptoms were mild or moderate or a symptomatic but the concern is we don't want them to bring it home to family, to spread it to their neighbors with weakened immune systems and so far the increase in cases in the younger population does not translate into more hospitalizations in
1:27 am
the younger population so that is a good thing so far but we need to remind everyone, physical distancing and keep your hands washed and cleaned. that the only defense on fighting this virus. shannon: great information. todd: congresswoman alexandria ocasio cortez facing her first reelection test today. will primary results have an impact on november and the progressive wave affect joe biden's platform? biden may be forced to go further left, she joined us next.

1:32 am
security analyst warned this could spark a new round of violence in the region, in the jordan valley, you saw palestinians starting what they say is the beginning of a resistance campaign. >> thousands palestinians are gathered in the town of jericho working with an expected series of rallies against proposed israeli annexation of the west bank in the jordan valley where we are standing. the party in control of the palestinians sending unified message not only to israel but the united states and any annexation of palestinian territory will me met with fierce resistance. >> a message from the palestinian people we totally reject this annexation. the palestinians are hoping for a palestinian state that is contiguous and our hearts and
1:33 am
minds are open for peace negotiations. >> the white house will hold meetings this week to determine whether or not to give israel the green light to move forward with annexation of these particular lands. is important to note the trump administration's deal of the century peace plan has been described by palestinians to fox news in gaza strip and the west bank as dead on arrival. we saw house republicans releasing a letter in support of this plan by benjamin netanyahu to start the annexation process early. we saw a similar letter against democrats in the house morning israel against the move. >> thank you for that update. congressman devon nunez itself intelligence committee republicans making progress in their russia probe.

the committee's ranking members says 14 criminal referrals have been sent to the doj. he feels justice can be served with attorney general william barr and john durham leading the charge. >> what we really want to see happen is those people in the clinton campaign and coordinated with the dirty cops, those are the people the department of justice has to really rain and hopefully able to prosecute. >> nunez didn't say who the referrals were for but stressed they would not affect anyone in the upcoming election. >> two staffers on donald trump's campaign test positive for covid-19, they attended adult around, that in addition to sellers who tested before the event. upon the positive tests the campaign immediately activated established quarantine and contact tracing protocols. john bolton's book hits store shelves from his 592 page memoir, the room where it

happens, will be published despite the trump administration's move to block it on grounds it contained classified information, trump calling bolton a wacko and a liar, john sitdown with bret baer on the special report at 6:00 pm eastern. jillian: voters will head to polls in new york, virginia and kentucky in a test for the progressive movement, democrat socialist alexandria ocasio cortez will face a slew of moderate democrats hoping to steer the party back towards the center. todd: what will we see in november? figaro joins us with her thoughts, that's the question. how much insight can we glean from tonight when it comes to the november election on the whole and whether biden makes a move left? >> reporter: aoc's election has nothing to do with the progressive movement, she came
1:36 am
in challenging nancy pelosi and ended up calling her mama bear. she has changed a few positions or at least how she advocates getting things done in the house and the progressive movement in november will not be changing the platform. if bernie sanders can't get progressives to move towards biden, aoc certainly cannot. they are serious about the platform of medicare for all, $15 an hour, serious about the green new deal and all the things they push and we have yet to hear what the task force board came up with to meet progressives in the middle. until that happens in biden is able to adopt the policies that are important to progressives i don't see them moving to be honest. shannon: look at the statement from bernie sanders to the new yorker on pushing joe biden to the left. if you're unhappy with biden's politics, if you disagree and i certainly do than the fight has got to take place turning today
1:37 am
to make sure he moves in as progress of a way as possible, that his administration is as progressive as possible. do you think the country is ready for that much moved to the left? >> most of what they say our moderate towards the center but the thing bernie sanders forgot is the fight started a long time ago. these individuals four years ago to say this was indeed a revolution so a lot of progressive supporters feel bernie sanders folded to be honest with you so with him saying now it is time to make biden moved to the left it doesn't work that way, biden won based on his center moderate believes. why would he move to the left? he has no motivation to do so. progressives will be standing firm in november and disappointed to see they won't be moving -- >> what do you think the far left of the party doesn't see as he referenced, most of the country being more moderate? >> they don't see health care,
1:38 am
they don't see what is going on, they don't see wages being a living wage, they don't see all the things bernie sanders sold them. doctor west went on record a couple weeks ago to say he was fine with bernie sanders being friends with biden, but he says biden is still joe biden so they will not be getting behind this candidate no matter what even those who don't like trump or like his leadership by serious about these policies and i don't see the movement, you have a fraction of folks who just want to vote against trump no matter who it is even if it is a purple squirrel but most folks in the progressive movement i have met in the last 5 or 6 years are serious about policy and find themselves very disappointed in bernie sanders and i don't see them budging until they get a progressive candidate they can stand firm. todd: biden has agreed to two presidential debates, you say biden should agree to more.
1:39 am
why? >> we certainly had many debates when it came to the democrat nominee so i think it is a good thing to flesh out politics and show you are able to get into the ring and fight but i believe trump supporters will support trump no matter what, people against trump will be against trump no matter what and people for biden will be for biden the matter what so the lines authority been drawn in the sand and it is always good to give the american people the opportunity to hear them flesh out both issues and both have a lot they can attack each other on and dry a contrast in their leadership. shannon: thank you, we appreciate it. >> drumroll please which you don't necessarily have to do. you did it, appreciate that was a new poll finds the most patriotic state is -- new hampshire. the granite state taking the top spot in a survey. i can say that. i lived there four years.
1:40 am
>> research looked at patriotism including number of active military personnel in 2016, voter turnout, on average red states are more patriotic than blue states, smaller states more patriotic than larger states. interesting. 40 minutes after the hour, donald ready to act to stop the destruction of history. >> and executive order, we are going to make the city's guard their monuments, this is a disgrace. shannon: as protesters topple more statues and monuments. >> can america preserve the past amid the frustrations of the present? we will see next. guys, it's that time... and nothin's happenin'.
1:43 am
1:44 am
>> chaos in the nation's capital, writers try to share down a monument of andrew jackson. he's not very happy about this, he promised swift action to end the destruction. >> it is a disgrace, most of these people don't know what they are taking down. we will do an executive order and make the city's guard their monuments. this is a disgrace. >> how far is too far? joining me to weigh in is angela
1:45 am
dorn. let's read what the president says on all this, he writes numerous people arrested in dc for disgraceful vandalism in lafayette park of the statute of andrew jackson. in addition to the exterior defacing of st. john's church across the street, 10 years in prison under the veterans memorial preservation act. obviously a tweet from the president. the president not happy with what he is saying, how far does this monument movement go? >> i think the monument movement will likely go pretty far. i see a lot of monuments are coming down, the confederate statues, hard to debate that that is not appropriate given the fact that those monuments went up as a way to intimidate black people searching for freedom at the beginning of the twentieth century following their coming back from the first
1:46 am
world war. talking about other monuments being attacked and people thinking about bringing down you have to think of it on a case-by-case basis. a lot of people are calling for their removal, you can't necessarily, it's one thing taking down the confederate states and another taking down a statue that relates to a former president of the united states, even one who was a really discriminatory and racist as andrew jackson was and is part a history. >> a response to what you are seeing? >> i think it is unfortunate. there was a moment that it seemed beatrice conspired to allow america to have an honest conversation about race for the first time in my lifetime, first time in 60 years, nobody brought james highlights, no tom brady
1:47 am
minicamp stories, they were all trapped inside, no bars to go to and we have to reckon as a nation with a man losing his life to a big government the on his neck for 8 minutes and 46 seconds and we see people across the political spectrum horrified by the reality that that could happen in 2020 america, a man could lose his life over a fake $20 bill into see people engaged in defunding the police, see people so hell-bent on performing plastic surgery solutions to racial harmony in america that they somehow think the man who signed the emancipation proclamation, abraham lincoln is not worthy of commemoration and deface monument in his name, ulysses s grant, the list goes on, it is a sad day because what is lost is the opportunity for america to continue the most productive conversation we have had in a long time. >> i want to get in two more question, first one to joseph,
1:48 am
let's talk about the roosevelt statute, roosevelt's great-grandson saying composition of the equestrian statue does not reflect the roosevelt's legacy, this is a statue that had teddy roosevelt alongside and potentially a lot of people saying above physically above a native american and an african man. if roosevelt's own family says it should come down to come down? >> we could go through and go case-by-case talking about which statues should stay up in which statues should stay down, it distracts from the main point which is these cosmetic solutions, this comfort food for the masses allow people to feel good that don't include people's lives are antithetical to the cause of american unity in the cause of black people as a whole, those are the things we talk about when talking about black wages and black wages are not keeping up with the cost of living, those are the things
1:49 am
that are improving lives, statues don't get it done. >> i want to get angela on this, not going to play the sound might but floyd family attorney says taking down statues is not the response we should be having, what your response to that? >> i agree with the floyd family's attorney. taking statues is a symbolic point, they are going down because they are hurtful to many people. they
