very good morning to you. you are watching "fox and friends first" on wednesday morning. rob: thanks for getting up early with us. we begin with a fox news alert, protesters burning an american flag as unrest and chaos continues in the nation's capital. jillian: marianne rafferty joins us as protesters surround the wendy's where rayshard brooks was killed. >> reporter: protests in dc showing no sign of slowing down despite warnings from the president, protesters hung an american flag and set it on fire near lafayette park just one day after a group tried to form an autonomous zone outside the white house, they also attempted to tear down the statue of andrew jackson.

letting the chop zone stand? we are seeing it play out in other cities, attempting to do the same thing? >> absolutely. they knew seattle was thrown to this, to board up a precinct and abandon it and stir in the area over to the crowd and worse yet the crowd took control of that area. other cities were smarter, they said we are not seattle and they shutdown right away. seattle, presiding sanitation and utilities and giving new barriers to reinforce the barriers they took from seattle police to create their own walls. seattle is essentially funding the protests against them in the occupation of a section a city. todd: the president says it is a shame congress doesn't do something about the lowlifes

that burned the american flag. it should be stopped and now. i want to talk about the politics of this. what do people make of this. most americans watching this activity, how does this affect the election? >> my son asked me why would there wasn't a constitutional amendment banning flagburning, it is a first amendment issue, people have the right to express that in this way. we may not agree with it but it is a first amendment issue. what bothers me more is people who are dedicated to the raising the history of this country. i am an orthodox jew and don't want to care down the concentration camps in europe because i believe they teach a valuable lesson that should be preserved as museums to teach about the atrocities that happened to the jews like in washington state we preserve the internment camps that help the japanese during world war ii to show this is wrong, not something that should be copied in the future and it is upsetting to me people are trying to rewrite our history

good or bad and try and the race what happened because how else do we learn from it? jillian: police have responded, there was a third person shot near the chop zone. this was on tuesday. police say they met the injured person outside chop after people began calling 9 one one after 4:30 in the morning, interesting people are calling 9 one one in the midst of this zone or near it. the mayor imposes a $20 million cut to the police budget. what do you make of that? >> they are operating at 60% capacity, they are short by hundreds of officers, they don't have enough to do the job in the district attorney in king county attorney are also using a revolving door, diverging criminals who should be serving jail time into diversionary

programs and these people are not showing up for their treatment or counseling or anything else that happens, they go right back onto the streets to offend again. we are operating under the structure and the system is being copied across the country. this is one of the models used for the bail reform law and as you can see does not doing anything, they are sending these guys to the front lines to offend again and cause problems again. we don't have enough police assets. they cut the budget by $20 million, what do they expect to happen? it will get worse, talking in a few weeks span, hundreds of thousands of calls to 911. jillian: we will continue to follow it. thanks for joining us. rob: harvard hit with a lawsuit after refusing to lower it's very expensive law school tuition despite classes being moved online. jillian: our next guest says this will likely end in a settlement. we explain why next.

maloney race, it is not enough to be an ultra liberal in new york city, you have to be a full-blown socialist in the era of aoc. jillian: you mentioned elliott and goal in those results, 92%, you can see 60.9 percentage versus elliott angle with 35.6%. it seems like right now the far left has gone so far that they really want change. what does it tell you you are seeing numbers like this? >> this is not my grandfather's democrat party, this party has looked over the edge, ran in 2018 basically on a fraud as moderates, problem-solving, focused problem solvers in the house and work with colleagues on the other side of the aisle, work with the administration. they have been anything but that, so out of touch with america that they are going to lose in november. rob: a real bonehead moment a few weeks ago when he said he

wouldn't even be there when you really care if he didn't have a primary coming out. you have these guys, they call them dinosaurs, guys who have been there forever and on the left there's a lot more animosity toward those kinds of politicians from the aoc youth in congress. should people like chuck schumer, nancy pelosi, should they be nervous seeing these results? >> nancy should be nervous, this will be the end of her short-lived majority. who would have guessed the d fund the police movement which was a radical left movement would become essentially a purity test overnight in the democrat party. they are moving so extreme to the left, they do not reflect mainstream american values and this is why in november they will lose their majority. jillian: bouncing off of what you are saying with november,

people are going out and voting for this far left socialist movement, alexandria ocasio cortez as an example and joe biden still a moderate democrat, how is this party going to shake out? >> joe biden is anything but a moderate democrat. if he is elected he promised to raise your taxes by 4 trillion -- jillian: he is more moderate than alexandria ocasio cortez. >> not based on what he is saying. he will raise your taxes by $4 trillion, a lemonade the oil and gas industry, give illegal immigrants access to healthcare, you are talking new york city, three or four weeks ago, a special election in los angeles suburbs, we want to see hillary clinton won by 7 points, the democrat in november of 18 won by nine points, candidate won by 10 points and that is a reflection of the rejection of this far left socialist movement

employees, racist legacy of police goes all the way back to its roots. we should not be in the business of profiting from racist policing. what do you make of this? >> google decided to pick and choose which parts of the constitution they care about, which aspects, they are happy to go out and protest. that is their right as a company. they are to be working with law enforcement and willing to do so because systemic racism on the police force is not a reason, a far out idea. what excites me is there's been no outrage for employees and incorporate media or work to do censorship against conservative leaning sites like our own, there is a real decision, they always seem to come down on the side of the hard left as opposed to the side of the country on the constitution.
