family tonight. unbelievable. thank you so much for being with us. okay, laura. my heart is troubled. i don't know what to even say. that was one of the most amazing -- what a sad thing that doesn't have to happen. >> raymond: i agree, sean. raymond arroyo sitting in for laura. it was a profound, the heart of what happens when lawlessness is allowed to reign. we have a mother of someone who also died because of these ridiculous, the ridiculous policies in some of these cities. amazing television tonight, sean. >> sean: can you imagine, he will never see his son again. we scroll names. they are not names. they are people. they are our neighbors.. they are our american family. take it away. >> raymond: my prayers are with them. i am raymond arroyo in for laura ingraham tonight and this is "the ingraham angle."

as new york spirals into violence, the city council slash the nypd's budget and aoc reveals the game, former nypd commissioner bernie kerik responds to it all. an epidemiologist is here to explain the true effectiveness of face masks in the fight against covid. is the outrage directed at skeptics excessive or on point? in the grocery store, the coffee shop.. he will tell us. steven manzo lost his job in march after covid lockdown shuttered his michigan bar. two weeks later, he was dead of an overdose. his mother is here tonight to share his story, and she has a warning and a message for government officials. first, banning independence. we should all be making plans to celebrate american independence this week, the founding of the republic, 244th birthday of our nation.en
11:02 pm
in many places we are being told we can't celebrate or shouldn't. after the signing of the declaration of independence, john adams wrote "i am apt to believe that july 4th will be celebrated by succeeding generations as the great anniversary festival. it ought to be commemorated as the day of deliverance by solemn acts of devotion to god almighty. it ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires, and illuminations from one end of the continent to the other, from this time forwardna forever more." no, not this year, mr. adams.om we are witnessing a de facto outlawing of july 4th celebrations all across the nation. in florida, multiple counties including miami-dade, broward, palm beach, are all closing

don't do it. >> in terms of the protest, i've not seen any guidance from the county on that. i do think that in general the main guidance is to keep your social distance and wear. people still can obviously and should exercise their first amendment rights. it's a critical moment not to let up wit that. >> raymond: you've got that? don't let up on the protest. exercise the first amendment rights to loot and cause a ruckus. but you're not allowed to watch fireworks or swim. i'm sorry. isn't free assembly still allowed? or is that only at kroger's and home depot? maybe we should all wear red, white, and blue and neat in the beach section at winn-dixie. at least we will get hot dogs. there is beneath the surface and the animus against the rights government was created to protect. god and country is now considered toxic by some, particularly on the left.
11:05 pm
in new york, district judge lashed governor andrew cuomo and their bill de blasio for allowing businesses to operate at 50% capacity while religious gatherings were restricted to f 25%. protesters, no limits at all. >> the protests were an entirely different reality, national phenomenon. it was not something that the government could just say go away. it's something that came from the grassroots. obviously had profound meaning we are all acting on the meaning of those protests. but it's really apples and oranges. our religious leaders were thes first to say it was not time to bring back services. >> raymond: i see. protests are national phenomenon with profound meaning. but religious services, and as far as de blasio's contention that he's worried about the spread of disease in new york, this is what's been going on outside of city hall this week.
11:06 pm
>> you're about to lose your job!ts you're about to lose your job! you're about to lose your job!ut >> raymond: no covid spread there. i'm sure. the democratic party is denying law abiding citizens their freedoms while militantly defending the violence and anarchy of these rolling protests. so we watch, as statues of washington are defaced, jefferson is toppled. saints and emancipators are defamed. democrats in orange county want john wayne's name and statue removed from the county airport. they cite a 50-year-old article as evidence that wayne harbored racist views. his family denies the charge. just today a statue of christopher columbus was removed from the columbus city hall. maybe they can call their town "empty pedestal." president trump signed an executive order to protect some

of the statues, and what does joe biden think? he says confederate statues belong in museums out of public view. well, listen. >> the elected officials where those statues have a responsibility. put them in museums. get them down. but don't expect if you have sitting in front of you after all these years, don't be surprised if someone pulls down the statue of jefferson davis. it is better that they do not. >> once you admit that the mob's displeasure with a given historical figure justifies they are destroying public works, how long before they are triggered over roosevelt, jefferson, or washington, racist and colonial affections? do you think biden is going to drop them down? as we approach the day we should

be celebrating our nation's heritage and showing our patriotic colors, the left is bent on erasing our historical memory. this is about this missing heroism of washington, disparaging the brilliance of jefferson, and tarnishing the symbol of manhood and idea that john wayne represent it on the screen. it's an all out assault on the cultural foundations of america, an attempt to demonstrate it was all pounded on the scene, it's all no good, and it needs to be remade. the young have made got the message. speak america sucks right now and if you support it and choose to wear red, white, and blue -- >> supporting racism -- >> your supporting racism and its discussing. don't wear red, white, and blue. where rainbow! >> raymond: there is something tragic about american girls running down their country on a platform tiktok under the thumb

of the communist country. if you want to know how fragile freedom is, the communist party in china just struck a security freedom on hong kong that and it's free speech and autonomy. freedom advocates being extremely arrested right now, they are being suggested to life sentence in prison. we need a parade july 4th in the united states, a reminder of who we are and from where we've come. americans need to we need the devotions to god, the pomp, the illuminations that adams foresaw. i don't need to zoom virtual celebration, i'm tired of g the virtual celebration too. we need to go out with songs and passion, celebrate american independence and the birthright that is ours. if we don't exercise that liberty, cherish it, and pass it along to the next generation, we could well lose it to our eternal shame.
11:10 pm
joining me now is carol swain, former vanderbilt professor and advisory board member for black voices for trump. thank you for being here. what is the ultimate goal of these reoccurring streetse movements, these occupations of cities? what's the agenda here? speak up it's not about police brutality >> it's not about police brutality or racism, it's abouto a global movement to destroy the united states as we know it, and its root is in marxism. and anyone who studies marxism knows where it goes, it goes to communism. that's where we are heading. the activists that you see out there today, they have an agenda. they are well organized. the uprisings are not spontaneous. the grievances of black people

11:12 pm
distressing is that our leaders in the republican party, in the democratic party, there must be some same people still in that party, they are not standing up. this is not ending well. >> raymond: i think many would agree, carol. the president tweeted this reaction to new york mayor bill de blasio. he's promising to paint "black lives matter" on fifth avenue in new york. the president said it was an insultla to cops and a symbol of hate, and that drew this reaction from lack lives matter cofounder. watch. >> i think it's the height of hypocrisy for donald trump to call anything a symbol of hate. he is the embodiment of hate. for him to say that affirming the value of black life is somehow hate, again reminds us of who he is. >> raymond: your reaction to
11:13 pm
that. >> first of all, black lives matter, the slogan, the true statement, has nothing to do with the marxistst organization that is part of the global movement to destroy america. and so that's what i say to that part of it, and i think that black lives matter, a lot of organizations, and a lot of companies, they are endorsing that movement for protection because they feel that their windowson will be broken, their buildings will be burnt down, the police will not be there to protect anyone. and so people are going alon with them. again, it will not end well, because the more they get, thee more they want, and no one is pushing back. that is very distressing, that people are not pushing back, and i see that connected with all the hysteria the democrats are pushing with the coronavirus and
11:14 pm
making us all wear masks. it's all about destroying our way of life in america and people need to wake up. wake up! >> raymond: carol, we are going to have to leave it there. thank you for your insight. we'll get into this mask controversy with the virologist in just a little bit. thank you for your insight, carol. cities across the country are removing iconic statues to appease the radical left. as we mentioned earlier, the city of columbus removed a statue of chris of her columbus outside city hall for that was a gift from its sister city in genoa italy in 1955. the boston arts committee voted to remove a statue of lincoln and emancipation that was financed entirely by freed slaves. in new york city, the museum of natural history is set to remove a statue of teddy roosevelt, not before my next guest went viral
11:15 pm
for defending the statue. >> i don't care what letter is next to your name. if you aren't defending this country, you aren't getting my vote! thank god we do have someone with some balls, some chutzpah, in the white house who will stand up and protect our people! they loot our cities, lose our stores, they loot our communities, they loot our histories. >> raymond: joined me now, gavin wax, the president of the new york young republican club. why did you organize this protest when the city and the american history museum already decided to remove the statue of roosevelt? >> thank youou for having me. this is about more than one statue. we, the silent majority in this country, want to stand up and defend our nation. we are sick and tired of watching our national history and traditions be erased and destroyed while lawlessness and barbarism seep onto our streets
11:16 pm
from this leftist woke mom. over 20 200 patriots came out, working class patriots from all walks of life. they work hard, pay their taxes, what do they have from the political class? a bunch of honest national assault on our values. a start of a movement from a backlash against all those who seek to police our thoughts, silence our speech, a race ares history, and the working class of this country, the people who keep this country running, are standing up saying enough is enough. >> raymond: why not change the statue? looks like it's -- my thought is e be innovative. the african-american man and the indian man next to roosevelt, if they feel -- they are both standing, they aren't bent down across, elevate them, put them on rocks or take them off the statue completely if they are offensive and leave roosevelt on the horse.
11:17 pm
his family was instrumental in founding the museum and some of his excavations were some of the first things that went into this museum. > raymond, i understand the sentiment. we have to understand that we cannot give the mob and ends because they will not compromise. they are seeking to destroyt history, doesn't matter what revision we make, they will always find an excuse no matter how innocuous it is. the reasoning behind the statue is a pocke he's the focal point of the statue. there is nothing ridiculous about that. it's only ridiculous to claim otherwise. >> raymond: i only have 30 seconds here. i want to talk about this very quick poll that is out. it's the young american foundation poll, and it shows a majority of in americans are actually supporting liberty and support the country. to those numbers hearten you at all? 70% say they are somewhat favorable toward the

regime is the new moral statement. ?hy >> thank you so much for having me. the fact is at the moment there is precious little hard evidence that supports wearing masks. after that fact, people speak generically about masks. i've won myself. i have one of these. having worked in fields you have to wear a mask, having worked with data pathogens, masks are a .pectrum they come from self-contained breathing apparatus, they are called p.a. p.r. apparatuses, through n95 masks which are good for filtering viruses. one of the things which i showed a second ago, to essentially just putting any cloth in front of your face. just a generic statement of wearing a mask --

>> raymond: we only have 2 minutes. where are the clinical trials? we keep hearing clinical trials. is there proof these are effective, these masks, whether homemade or bot, effective in stopping the spread of covid? >> at the moment there is no hard evidence to back us up. there is a presupposition that it essentially acts as a filter and asked to prevent droplets from spreading, that works. the normal evidence we use to make calls and public health and health care is just not there. >> raymond: i want to show you this. this is dr. fauci when he was asked about wearing masks in march. >> there is no reason to be walking around with a mask. wearing a mask might make people feel a little bit better, but it's not providing the perfect protection that people think that it is. >> raymond: chris, you had said that there is a psychological effect and i only have one minute. what is the psychological effect
11:21 pm
of wearing a mask i if it's not totally effective at stopping the disease spread? >> when you see a new pathogen, something that you'vein never encountered, that has been so scary and is killing people, you want to reassert control. that is not a flaw, that's how we are as humans. and masks and especially the moralizing of masks, unless you wear one, you just don't care about other people, is essentially a form of reasserting this control that people forget the important thing, that masks alone are often not enough. >> raymond: thank you so much, chris. in political terms, it seems that it has become the red hat of the left, which is odd in these days. coming up, we take you inside the so-called autonomous zoneou outside of new york city hall, where protesters are demanding the police be defunded.op will they stop there, and what

retook the so-called autonomous zone from the anarchist this morning. police made dozens of arrest and found the place littered with garbage and waste from the summer of love. they also left two teenagers dead in their wake. as seattle was liberated, the radicals camped outside new york city hall, and they promised to disband if the police budget was cut by a billion dollars. well, that happened. the city council passed a bill yesterday to do just that. but it didn't appease the liberal mob. protesters say the budget cuts are just smoke and mirrors and they plan this day camped out until they get exactly what they want. of course, these goons will continue to harass and mock police officers in the process. >> you went to clown college. >> had to go to school for longer than you do. >> [bleep] half of you don't even have a college education to be out here! >> you can even read a [bleep]

11:32 pm
that's about $55 million. there will be a number of cuts to the overtime scheduling for cops, and that overtime scheduling goes into enforcement, narcotics enforcement, anticrime they've already cut back on the plane close anti-crime units across the city, and what you are going to see is a major spike in violent crimes, shootings, and murder. any time the goes up, you'll see the crime rises well and you'll see a lot of that based on these cuts. >> raymond: we are already seeing it, couldn't have come at a worse time. the last 28 days, new york city has seen 157% more shooting victims compared to the same time last year. compared to 2019, the number of shooting victims is up 52% so far this year.
